I jumped on the deer, pulling it to the ground with me. I was able to kill it quickly after it was down. I smiled to myself. That was the great thing about being alone, more food for me. After eating my fill, I took the remaining meat with me. Always good to have a back up plan if I didn't catch something later. I am sure I would be able to fight anyone else off if they wanted it. That is when I ran into the wolf in the bush. I returned her growl, "Who is asking?"

“I asked you first!” I remark looking at the deer, then at him I was so hungry not having eaten since yesterday. “Why don’t you just answer my question then I’ll answer yours.” I said cautiously still eyeing the deer, I didn’t think I could take him but still I was starving, so leaped forward without waiting for an answer, and grabbed a piece of meat grueling it up then backing away ready to run If I had to.

"I am Krypt", I said, returning the courtesy. I had heard the sound too, and decided to investigate. Cocking my head to the side, I listened harder, while looking through the bushes. Whoever it was, they were good at not being seen. Maybe they were after my deer too, maybe they were lost, maybe they were spying, I knew not. I went to the bushes to investigate the possible danger.

I heard voices, and I understood them, meaning only one thing. A pack of wolves is what lie ahead of me. I took the rest of the strength I could muster into running full speed towrds them. I was weak, very weak, and this was probably going to be my last journey in these woods. I slowed to a limping walk in the clearing before I met the wolves, trying to regain my breath, it was a pointless attempt. I broke through the bushes, and saw a couple of wolves. My tounge was hanging, panting, as I said, "please, listen. You must run fro this place, flee from this area. Cross the river, do what you have to do, jsut get aaway from here!"

I looked away from the bushes, at this newcomer. She was a wolf, yet she seemed to have the coloring of a fox. And she looked awfully tired. I turned and adressed her "I am sorry, but who are you? And what are we fleeing from?" She didn't look like she was in any state to be running, by the way she was breathing in slow, heavy, pants. I didn't want to take this lightly in case it was a threat, but it could always be a trick.

My breath slowed at the voice. I didn't want to give them my name, I didn't want them to waste any time.
"Humans," I said. "they're hunting. Going north, you must leave!" I felt my eyes drooping, and my body giving up on me. Why weren't they leaving? I decided to make them leave faster with additional informatioin: "They are just twenty miles south of here, and in trucks."

I looked her over for a few seconds. I could tell by her manor she must be telling me the truth. She was still awfully tired, I could tell. It wasn't me though to leave her here to get captured, especially since she was the whole reason that we were supposed to be fleeing. I thought about it in my head. If they were about twenty miles South of here, they could be here on foot in about half an hour, giving this tired wolf about twenty five minutes to rest before she had to run again. If they were on moter veihicls, they could be here in ten, if they avoided trees and went quickly. That would give her five minutes to rest and then leave if she wanted to stay ahead. Not very much time, she would need some help to keep moving. It was a hard choice, but I made up my mind, I would dismiss my normal loner manor and help her. After all, I wouldn't be running if she hadn't told me this. All the while I was thinking this, I was keeping a staight face, staring at her.

Finally, I said to the others, "You all go, I will stay and help this one go when she is up to it." This was not like me to take compassion on others, but circumstances change, especially when humans were involved.

"You really mustn't. This isn't a good hiding place anyway, please just go." I rested my hind legs by sitting, by I felt myself beginning to shake, trying to hold up the rest of my body. I looked into the eyes of the black wolf that was speaking. He was completely determined, I could tell, and the humans were gaining speed every second of the way.

"You right, this isn't a good place to hide. But I am sure I can move you to a better position if you still need to rest. Which you need to." I said seriously to her. I could tell she was pleading me to go, but I had already made up my mind and was planning to stand fast.

I looked around, and saw a dense thicket nearby, thinking that we be my best bet for hiding if worse came to worst and she couldn't run. In regards to the humans, I never was one to run away from my problems, in that I wasn't scared stiff of them. That didn't mean I wasn't wary of them, it would be foolish to go up against them and their guns. As long as they don't have dogs, we should be fine.

Seeing the the male and the smallish female move towards me in the thicket, I call out, "Do you need help? I am Silver Star. Star for short. Quick come around this tree. It is the easiest way to get behind the thicket. Hurry!" I do not give up my hiding spot easy, but I hate humans and will not see any more of my kind lost to them if I can help it. I wonder if my almost silver, petite appearance surprised them, it does most....O well, I hope they hurry and stay quite.

Wolves seemed to be appearing everywhere, I thought. This one was willing to help, it seemed that we all had a common hate toward the humans. I helped the tired wolf over to the thicket, following Silver Star. "Thankyou for your help, my name is Krypt by the way." I said, examining this new wolf. She also seemed of smaller build, making me the largest of the group. She seemed to have a bushier than normal tail, it almost seemed flamboyant. I turned around and spied through the bushes. The humans were not close yet, I couldn't hear them either. But from my experience, I knew they could be very sneaky if needs be.

"No idea, she is the one who warned me of the humans. Decided it was best not to leave her in the open, and helped her over here." I said, glancing back at her. I sneezed after the tail hit my face not to softly, slightly annoyed from it. But it was impossible to tell from reading my facial expression. I unslung the rest of the meat which had been hanging on my neck and set it down. "Eat if you want it" I said passivly, I didn't really care that much anymore. Besides, it would only weigh me down if I had to run or fight.

Very thankful for a meal, and knowing I may have to fight before the night is out, I eat some of the deer. "Forgive, but I may be small, but I am not a dainty eater. Thank you for the meal" After eat some, looks back to the others, wondering why I let my guard down for this wolf. "I going to try and rest." Looking at the Krypt - "Don't try anything smart, we will need to move before dawn, unless the hunters come sooner. I would suggest that you try and rest as well." I put my back to the thickest part of the thicket and curl up. At least he is to large to get behind me. I should be ok here, but I don't trust him, not yet. He stay to help the smallish one, but I just don't know. (begins to doze) "good night"
