Kintora School Characters

This is where we can design the characters for the rival martial arts school. Chracter Sheets are the same as before. Basically we need an equal number of characters here as there are active characters in the RP. You can make your own counter-character or give someone else permission to do so. We might also need a few extra characters, but not sure yet.

Name: Okaisu Shimaru
Age: 30
Position: Head of the Golden Guard
Style: Niten Ichi-ryu
Weapons: Katana and wakazashi

Looks:
Shimaru stands at just under 6 foot tall with a poweful build, long black hair usually tied back in samurai fashion, and bright, alert brown eyes. The only thing he has ever been seen in is the traditional samurai style kimono, dark red with a white sash when off duty, and black with a gold sash when on duty

Personality:
Shimaru is a very serious man who rarely speaks or jokes, however when he does say something it is almost always the best answer or option, or some of the funniest stuff you'll ever hear. No one has ever seen him mad about anything, nor have they ever seen him smile either

Short Background:
Ten years ago Shimaru was the leader os a street gang in Japan, something akin to the Yakuza, except they never used guns. He ran his gang with traditional samurai beliefs, going so far as to have his men commit suicide if they failed him. However, one of his gang members betrayed him and tried to kill him. He had believed this man very trustworthy, and when Shimaru lived and killed him instead he gave leadership of his gang away and vanished. A couple of months later the owner of the Kintora School approached him, offering him a job as his personal guard, when soon developed into the head guard of the school.

I thought I'd just pull up a character who Hayden and Hannah have referenced before; it'd make the background story easier for me XD

Name: Jake Rosen
Age: 18
Position: Student
Style: Modern Karate
Weapons: In order to get his black belt, Jake was required to become proficient in one weapon. He decided on nunchuks, but quickly became frustrated with the short range of the weapon. Thus, having half-learned nunchuks, Jake switched to the katana. He is capable of using an incredibly deadly weapon of his own invention, nunchuks with blades fastened to the ends.

Looks: Jake has bright red hair which he keeps spiked up. He stands at 6'3, the only person on the National Karate team that was taller than Hayden. He's very muscular and strongly built, with a sort of deadly aura that surrounds him. His eyes are dark blue, and he has a dragon tattoo etched on his right shoulder. He was considered by many of the girls on the team to be extremely good-looking, due to his charismatic grin. He only wears his karate uniform when he has to; otherwise, he prefers wearing a black and gold Karate Team sports jacket and jeans.

Personality: Jake is a very fiery person, hotheaded and prone to fights. Although he's rather intelligent and shrewd at strategy, he often lets his emotions get the better of him. He's easily provoked, and things are not pretty when he is. When someone shows him disrespect, he won't hesitate to pummel them within inches of their life. Jake has never killed anyone, mostly due to his respect of the law, but he's sent quite a lot of kids to the hospital. On the National Karate team, he was well-known for causing the most injuries during one tournament.

Short Background:Jake was on the national Karate team with Hayden. While they were generally amiable during practices and on traveling tournaments, it was obvious that Jake did not like Hayden. This was mostly because of the radical differences they possessed in terms of their opinions about martial arts. They were nearly complete opposites. While Hayden was accepted to Ginryu school, Jake was recruited by Kintora instead.

Name: Rosalind Erickson
Position: Kintora Student
Age: 20



Appearance: About 5'8", with long, thick blond hair and reddish-brown eyes.

Personality: Confident, cold, and imperious, Rosalind believes herself to be above most of the common "rabble" of fighters. She's not far from right. She fights in the style of Vikings and similar warriors of old, and her primary weapon is a long whip. she's tough enough to withstand quite a bit of damage, and condescending when she believes someone to be unworthy of effort. Also ruthless, she does not hesitate to do heavy damage in a battle situation.

History: Raised by a family very fond of its Icelandic Heritage, she's been learning to fight since she was old enough to walk. She accepted the invitation to join the Kintora school out of a desire to outmatch her father, widely-considered a master of old Icelandic styles, and is willing to go through anyone she had to to get there. She is not entirely without good qualities, though: her loyalty to the master of the school is admirable, and she is loath to give up or surrender, no matter the circumstances.

I'm noting a pattern. Do the character's created for Kintora school have to be a match (personality wise and fighting wise) to go against an instructor/student from the original Ginryu school?

no, they don't have to be like the Ginryu characters at all

lol, I only did that because I thought Jake's backstory would be easy to add in to Hannah and Hayden's. I like it when things...make sense, haha.

it's fine of they are, it doesn't really matter either way i suppose, as long as they will be interesting to see in the story XD

Name: Ushio Fujisaki
Age: 27
Position: Kintora Instructor



Appearance: When doing his job, Ushio can be seen in strictly traditional shinobi garments, loose black clothing with gold greaves and bracers. His longish brown hair is always well-kept, as is really everything else about him. Rarely is he seen to be frustrated by anything.

Personality: Ushio is a stylistic purist and a traditionalist, believing that the best way to become strong is to dedicate oneself fully to a single art and learn everything it had to teach you. He knows the intricacies of his own style (which resembles akido) very well, and as a result, he is confident and self-assured in it. Something of a ladies' man, Ushio is an unrepentant flirt, though he is at heart fundamentally out for himself only, and there is no real chivalry underlying his attitude. Despite this, he's not really an unpleasant guy to be around, and is generally both funny and smarter than you would think. He doesn't go damaging people just for fun, and he's definitely among the least-antagonistic members of the Kintora school, despite being something of a creep.

History: Raised in a very old Shinobi family, Ushio has had the best martial education possible pretty much from day one. He had a brief rebellious streak in his late teens and early twenties, during which he attempted to prove the strength of his family's traditional art in the context of underground fighting tournaments. He met Shin there, and the two were friends for a while before their lives took different paths. Ushio became jealous when he heard of Shin's appointment at Ginryu, and took a position at Kintora in hopes of meeting the other man again, since the two always fought to a tie. Their friendship always had a component of rivalry, and now beating Shin is by far the thing that most occupies Ushio's mind.

Name: Kent Johnson
Age: 29
Position: Kintaro Instructor



Appearance: Kent boasts a healthy 6'4'' height and well muscled. His wardrobe consists of tee-shirts, sweatshirts, and shorts.

Personality: While in battle, Kent will use absolute no effort to attempt to be quiet. He is loud, taunting, and overconfident, often underestimating opponents. Leaping before looking is something he does in both combat and life, this habit often landing him in rather comical situations or on his back in a battle arena. Kent refuses to harm anyone innocent or unable to defend themselves; unable to defend themselves defined as a passing bystander with no martial art training. He is constantly searching for a person stronger then the last and will not rest until he has defeated them.

Background: Born and raised in a low-income family in New York, Kent was forced to learn how to defend himself at an early age. He developed a fighting style combining street fighting and whatever things he had watched from kung-fu movies, creating something that reminded many of an attacking tiger. Having dropped out of high school, Kent was able to earn quite the sum of money through tournaments. With the money earned, he traveled to Shanghai, China through a recommendation of an older trainer. Kent's name quickly became known as he continued to win tournament after tournament. His streak was brought to a halt when he encountered Pai-an, who was under a false name at the time. Kent was absolutely infuriated with her ways and ultimately defeated. Soon after, he started as an instructor at Kintaro, thinking it the only way to get stronger and perhaps encounter Pai-an again.
