SCIENCE/MEDICINE/TECHNOLOGY

This section is for technology that has changed the world dramatically. The things displayed here are mostly responsible for the world being in the era it is now. There is a huge gap between 2011 and 2450, so I would expect a lot of things to change and a lot of problems fixed. So here are a few things that helped with that.

    A.M.P.sA1
Anti Manipulation Principle (AMP) forms the foundation for variety of technological wonders, enabling phenomena ranging from phase-space interference to the manipulation of gravitational force. There are two types of AMPs, gravity and matter. Together they form AMP engines and generators which have replaced the need for fossil fuels and other primitive and harmful energy sources. AMPs have recently been outfitted for more personal uses. Specialists have made modification for AMPs to be used for combat as well as manual labor.

    Flying AutomobilesA2
Cars are able to to take flight due to AMP engines. This has earned them the classification of aircar/skycar. They are able to hover a few inches off the ground or take full flight and share air space next to planes. But, of course there are flight zone laws and certain areas where you are and aren't allowed to fly. For the most part civilians are still limited to the ground, but there are commercial, business, and emergency air space. Plus a completely different area for helicopters and planes.

    Jet-CycleA3
Modern day motorcycles go by this name. They are just as fast and dangerous as their predecessor, if not more. Because their speed and maneuverability, they have even been adopted into the military as infantry and scouting vehicles.

HoverByke: The futuristic version of a bicycle. They hover a few feet off the ground and capable of short and temporary flight. Hoverbykes can reach max speed of 60 mph, usually the faster the more expensive the model is.

    HoverboardA4
Hoverboards are skateboards with no wheels, they are designed to hover a few feet off the ground and reach speeds of 20-30 mph. They are popular amongst teens and younger kids as transportation through the city.

Wind Board: Similar to hoverbaords, except these are made to go much higher, so they are inherently much more dangerous. Wind Boards, can go as high as skycars, and can reach the same speeds. They are commonly used in extreme sports and races through city.

    Flat-Space TechnologyA5
This is a form of dimensional compression, used to store objects in a pocket dimension. Simple objects are stored/retrieved and more complex ones systematically deconstructed/reconstructed in a flow of sparkling lights. A significant number of items can be stored for easy retrieval without burdening the user with either weight or size. The technology mainly takes the form of easily overlooked wristbands, although one-inch scabbards holding 42-inch swords are also seen. Handguns, and ammunition are also hidden in this manner. The technology is also used to create habitable pocket dimensions.

    TrolsA6
Are robots made to hunt down fugitives or to work security. Trols are small security robots, created to do simple tasks, very effectively. They work with police departments to lessen the workload. By patrolling city streets as a police officer would, a Image Trol will keep a watchful eye just as a policeman would. However, they are also capable of helping the elderly with groceries or a lost child find their way home. They could even stop a mugging, through non-lethal means.

These robot are excellent for what they do because of how effective they are.
They never tire and have limitless range; search almost any and every area; travel at constant high speed; numerous vision feature; weapon system, which uses K.O. darts to subdue its targets.

Once they find their target or intruder, they set off an silent alarm and then try to apprehend the target themselves. The only faults to these robots are: their limited intelligence, water resistance, distance limitation, max speed of 30 mph, and can be easily destroyed.

    CAP'sA7
One of the most popular robot models, happens to be the least tangible. CAP's or Computer Assistance Programs are exactly as reads, they come in the form of a small chip to be installed wherever you like: your house, watch, brain, cell phone, bluetooth, etc. They are able to do just about anything, setup appointments, open doors, place calls, even hack. CAPs were initially designed to replace office assistants, but they were adapted and modified to handle other situations. Depending on the model you have and personal setting, they can even project a custom voice or hologram.

    AMP GearA8
AMP Gear are one of many futuristic tools created for good, but have been abused. They are devices, which generate modified gravity fields that allow whoever the field surrounds to perform feats of near-superhuman agility and/or survive jumps from immense heights that would normally result in death. It allows the user to warp and distort matter. This all possible by controlling and manipulating AMP waves. Different devices allow access to these various skills:

    • Speed Burst: Alters user's mass, long enough to gain a short, high speed burst.

    • Enhanced Strength: Manipulates the gravity around an object so it is easier to lift.

    • Gravity Shift: Creates a gravity field around the user so they may control it to various degrees.

    • Super Jump: Allows the user to survive great falls or leaps, by altering gravity and mass. Perfect timing is required because of short duration.

    • Crush: Increases the weight of gravity on a object until it is crushed flat.

    • Levitation: Creates a gravity field around the an object for the user to manipulate.

    • Phase: Distorts and shifts matter, creating a hole for the user to walk through.

    • Distortion Barrier: Creates a distorted wall which rips and tears anything that comes in contact with it.

    • Empty Void: Create a gravitational vacuum in mid-air that varies in size from a few centimeters to nearly a meter in diameter. The vortex then draws in surrounding matter into themselves. Anything that enters one of these vortices immediately vanishes; where — if anywhere — such material goes is unknown. Vortex last only a few seconds.

    • Repulse: Manipulates gravity at the users will to repulse matter away. Depending on the amount of force, it can easily shatter wood, bones, stone, or even metal.

    • Attract: Manipulates gravity at the users will, to draws objects toward them.

WEAPONS

This section is for advancements made in weaponry. Just as time changes so does combat and in the current era, bullets are not the only available projectiles. Melee weapons are also used just as much as guns now-a-days.

    Modern GunsA9
Modern infantry weapons are laden with features, from targeting auto assist to projectiles shavers that can generate thousands of rounds of ammunition from a small internal block of metal. Besides this, they are still relatively the same, but require a little more upkeep and not so much point and fire.

    Rail GunB1
Railguns are high-velocity projectile weapons which use electromagnetic fields to propel a solid metal slug at a velocity of mach 5 over a distance of 250 miles. The use of two sliding or rolling contacts that permit a large electric current to pass through the projectile. This current interacts with the strong magnetic fields generated by the rails and this accelerates the projectile. Older models of the weapon are severely large, but due to recent modifications they have been scaled down to a more average rifle size.

    Non-Lethal IncapacitatorB2
Advancement in weaponry, does not only mean better ways to kill. So law enforcement weapon specialist have developed weapons and custom ammo to deal with criminals in a effective and non-lethal way. Theses weapons are are called Incapacitators and they use chemically made pellets designed to put criminals down long enough for them to apprehended. But, just like other non-lethal weapons, they aren't the best solution for all situations just a greater alternative.
    • Cryo Pellet: Chemically made pellet designed to cause complete parallelization. The projectile earned it's name because it mimics the feeling of freezing. Once it makes contact with the targets skin, they feel extreme cold and the area acts as if it is frozen. This effect lasts for a 5-10 seconds per pellet. If shot in the correct places, one could completely freeze (immobilize) the target; it is even possible to cause temporary death.

    • Pyro Pellet: The opposite of the cryo pellet, the pyro causes the similar feeling of a 3rd degree burn; which is actually a side effect. The pellets original design is to cause disorientation and disrupt motor skills. The burning is a side effect scientists decided not to correct as it isn't harmful and exist briefly.

    • Shock Dart: An updated version of the stun gun, this version fires shock darts which deals 2 million volts of electricity per dart. The darts can even be retrieved and charged while held in the chamber.

    Concussion RifleB3
Type of ranged weapon that fired a compressed capsule of ionized air towards a target, creating a powerful shock wave that blows the target back with enough force to knock them out. The weapon was originally an incapacitator, but some models have illegal street modifications that make them more lethal.

    Laser GunB4
Laser weapons fire concentrated beams of energy at their targets and cause damage by their intense light and heat. All laser weapons require a power source either built into the weapon directly or carried in a separate pack. Several different models exist, from low power civilian versions to extremely powerful military weapons. As with all energy weapons, laser rifles can suffer from poor performance if not properly maintained. The crystal arrays and non-mechanical components are delicate and if not properly serviced can lead to a loss of beam intensity, overheating, and energy regulation failure.

    Plasma GunB5
Is a firearm designed to use plasma (high-energy ionized gas) as a weapon. The plasma is created through the use superheated ionized gas, which becomes the projectile instead of ammunition.
Such weapons can be intended to be lethal, causing death by serious burns or the melting of targets. The weapon is powered by a battery cell and can be charged for a deadlier attack. However, charging the weapon puts wielder at risk as it can overheat or backfire.

    Particle CannonB6
A particle beam weapon uses an ultra-high-energy beam of atoms or electrons to damage a target and thus disrupting its atomic and molecular structure. The stream of particles travel near the speed of light and therefore carry tremendous kinetic energy; the particles transfer their kinetic energy to the atoms in the molecules of the target, striking them as a cue ball would to racked balls in billiards. However, the weapon must first be charged up before firing is possible.

    Knuckle DusterB7
Similar in appearance to brass knuckles, Knuckle Dusters achieve the same goal, except ten times over. Once active, the weapon generates an energy field which augments the wearers strength. The wearer then has the ability to crush bone, metal, or any other material with relative ease. They are commonly used in underground fighting rings. Because of their lethality they are highly illegal to own, but are still exist for more practical means.

ARMOR

With advances in offense, it is only necessary to make advancements in defense. So this section is exactly for that. Feel free to develop your own tech, but below are the basics. Kevlar is also still used, but I didn't feel the need to list it.

MicroPLaD / Micro Prism LAser Defense TechnologyB8
With the advent of laser and other energy based weaponry came the need for a defensive armor that was capable of withstanding their attacks. Kevlar suited for a short time as it was thick enough that it took some time for a laser to penetrate, during which the subject would have to remain still, (much like drilling a hole through the armor).

As technology advanced at a rapid pace Kevlar soon became as useless in laser defense as a tee shirt in bullet defense, and so science produced the solution to the problem. A material called "MicroPLaD" which was designed much like a sheet of scale armor, created from micro prisms. The result was a fabric that dissipated the super focused beam of a laser to a point that it stopped the penetration.

While the technology was good it was unable to completely nullify the effectiveness of lasers, as the prisms would burn out after repeated hits, and the very nature of the fabric spread the damage over a larger space than the laser was other wise capable of hitting. This resulted in an armor that preformed against lasers in much the same way that Bullet proof vests perform against bullets, enough to save most lives most of the time but not enough to save all lives all the time, and the most effective way to avoid casualties remains "Don't get shot"

    • Cooler Suit: Cooler Suit the common name for a "MicroPLaD" garment, derived from the fact that it reduces the laser's focused energy. Contrary to this name the "Cooler Suit" actually heats up very quickly and in some cases has actually left burns in locations of laser hits where the user failed to have a second layer of clothing on between the suit and his/her skin.

    Omni-flex Armor WeaveB9
A blend of different materials created to defend against the many different threats of the modern world. Omni-flex Weave can withstand the powerful assault of Celestine, the rage of Anthropes, and defend against many types of ballistics. The material is highly durable and long lasting, but expensive. Suits of this material can be compared to wearing a suit of armor. The wearer still retains mobility, but it is slightly restricted with addition of the new weight. Suits also have another level of protection provided by micro-frame computers, whose input detectors are woven throughout the fabric.

    Cyber SuitC1
Cyber Suits are designed for everyday wear, extra protection, or just training. They are custom made per user and have the option to come with a number of features. The suits are very popular and can be seen being worn everywhere and by everyone. They are skintight and lightweight, but durable and offer great environmental protection. Below are just a few of the standard features available in suits.

    • Adaptive Camo: is a group of camouflage technologies which allow an object to blend into its surroundings by use of panels or coatings capable of altering their appearance, color, luminance and reflective properties.

    • Lattice Shunting: Strong synthetic fibers are woven into the suit, dramatically reducing damage taken from most attacks.

    • Microfiber Weave: Perforating the muscles with micro-fibers increases overall strength and decreases the potential for muscle damage from exertion.

    • Skeletal Lattice By reinforcing the skeleton with a synthetic weave, bones can be made almost unbreakable.

    Mood ClothesC2
These clothes offer no type of protection what so ever, instead they are made to appease the eyes. Mood clothes are simply clothing articles that change colors to reflect your mood. They can range from a single piece of cloth to an entire outfit.

    BlastpackC3
Lightweight and compact, Blastpacks are aeronautical devices used for short distance flights. Popular amongst teens and adults, they are very simple to use and require little to no training to operate.

EQUIPMENT

Below is a list of random assortment of futuristic equipment. As always feel free to create your own, these are just some of my own creations that I feel would be popular in the RP world.

    The GLOVEC4
Otherwise known as The GLobal netwOrk Virtual intErface. ImageThis is a tool created to make everyday access of technology easier and micro-manageable. This device allows remote access to computers and other pieces of technology. With the help of implants, access works simply by touch and/or infrared connection. By combining a computer micro-frame, sensor analysis pack, and manufacturing fabricator. Anything connects to the web or the electrical grid, can be accessed in some way by The GLOVE.

ImageWhen using The GLOVE it also provides you with a virtual interface that is presented on your main forearm and a few feet in front of your eyes. This only you and other using The GLOVE can see and interact with. Otherwise to everyone else you will look quite crazy. The GLOVE can also be used for entertainment purposes as you can access the Internet with this tool. There are multiple models of The Glove available, customized for the different tasks users may need them for. Finding a human without a glove is like finding a human without a brain; very rare. Gloves last just as long you do and require little no maintenance.

    • Basic: Versatile and reliable, the basic model glove can be used to analyze and adjust the functionality of most technology and equipment from just about any distance. It is the starting point for all models, no matter which one you choose, you will have all basic functions and abilities. The glove can even rapidly assemble small three-dimensional objects from common, reusable industrial plastics, ceramics, and light alloys. This allows for field repairs and modifications to most standard items, as well as the reuse of salvaged equipment.

    • Haptic Adaptive Interface: This model is more of an upgrade than separate glove. By undergoing a small cybernetic enhancement surgery, the user has accelerometers implanted in their fingertips. This allows for machines that use interface to detect the implants. Once keyed in, the motion accelerometers in the user's glove match his hands location with that of a proportionate but smaller "mirror" set of controls inside the computer itself. As the user presses against the holographic field, force-feedback in the glove kicks in, giving a light resistance. A person can then eel their way through using a touch-screen that isn't actually there.

    • Commando Kit: The commando kit is part of the basic loadout for any combat force, from police to military teams. It is cerebral implant that alters and enhances visual and audio signals to the brain. This improves clarity of hearing and sight (especially in patients with physical defects). The implant also interlaces additional features via the subject's senses. These often include advanced friend and foe identification, a three-dimensional radar display that can render uploaded schematics and real-time location information of any desired input object.

In past decades, a small transponder in the implant would actively receive all render data from a central control station, but this was very prone to transmission failure and signal warfare. More recent units have a complete on-board processor, which can intercept radio signals from a wide range of devices, classify them, and then render them. They can also monitor the user's vital signs, anti-ballistic system integrity, inventory, implant stress, and completion level of preprogrammed tactical directives. There are also glove modifications made to allow access to other survival necessary tools.

    • Hacker's Delight: This model is mostly speculation among public, people aren't even sure if it exist or not. Either way to gain this model you will have to travel in the groups.

Hacker's Delight is the nickname given to the hacker’s version of The Glove. This version takes the form of an implanted chip and nanobots. It is definitely some of the most advanced technology out, and it is hard for even the most elite of hackers to get their hands on. The notorious hacker group, The 404's are responsible for the creation of this tool. How? Is a story that must be told by them. What is even more amazing is how this tech has managed to stay within their society.

Once successfully integrated with the human body it becomes a part machine; some even consider themselves a cyborg after this process. With this version of The Glove, a person can now hack anywhere and everywhere, by simply touching the device or even simply by walking through a park using the global network. There is also an optical way to do this by simply looking at the device you can begin hacking it. After activating the glove, the user must choose one of four ways to hack:

      • Covert Hacking: This style is tailored for those who make sure they will never be caught. A covert hacker can hack and take their time because they cover their tracks and use alternate IP's to hide their true location. By the time people realize they are being hacked, you will be long gone before they can even start tracing you. But covert hackers don't work good against a clock and are known to fumble.

      • Speed Hacking: When hacking, you only have a limited amount of time before you are traced or before you are counter hacked. So by using this style, time no longer becomes a factor. Speed hacking allows the user to quickly hack a system and do what they need to do and get out. A proficient speed hacker can break into a system and get out and appear as simple malfunction. Sometimes people who use this style are too fast for their own good and often make many mistakes and even though they are fast they are still quite easily traced.

      • Force Hacking: Neither fast nor stealthy, a force hacker is instead very skilled. This style is for those who hack very successfully. A force hacker can break into a system with no more than a couple tries. They can guess passwords and disable firewalls in their sleep. Because of their lack of speed and high risk of being caught most tend to go against low security programs or counter hack.

      • Viral Hacking: Viral Hacking is different from the other types, but slightly similar to Covert Hacking. This style relies on distraction in order for the user to be successful. When the user breaks into a computer, they unleash self-programmed viruses to distract security systems, while the user slips through the back door. This enables the user to do what they need to do and get out while security is busy with the many viruses. The drawbacks of this style is the random time frame. Depending on how quickly the viruses are dealt with will determine the time you have to hack. This could range from hours or to ten minutes.

      HD Hologram DecoyC5
A device that projects a three-dimensional representation of a person or object, for deceitful purposes. The device is capable of creating a virtual doppelganger of the user to draw enemy fire or lure unsuspecting opponents out into the open. It even has audio capabilities to mimic talking or gun sounds. The device can be programmed to do a number of actions or mimic recorded ones.

      TagsC6
A small computer chip implanted in one's wrist, identified by an optical machine-readable representation of data, which shows certain data, which resembles a bar code. For females it is located on the left wrist and for males, the right. In recent days, children have it installed after birth, adults and children eventually have the chip implanted. The tags holds two purposes, information storage and person tracking. Tampering with the chip in anyway is illegal and fine-able, the same can be said with the actual tag.

Biological Resume: This is the information stored on the chip implanted in one's wrist. It tells need to know information as well as bonus like where the person attends school. Tags have replaced personal IDs, business resumes, background checks, driver's license, and other forms of information. Because of this, the chip must be updated yearly.

Tracking Chip: With this a person can be located within a mile of their exact location. Due to a global positioning satellite, every person with tag can be tracked and located worldwide. The chip itself is durable and long-lasting, but can still be accidentally broken. It is not illegal for a person to have a broken chip, nor are they responsible for its upkeep. But, it is replaced free of charge and must be in working order upon tag updating.

      Gravity LevelerC7
Gravity levellers are devices that redirect (rather than nullify or reduce) gravity, enabling a person to stand and maneuver on walls or even ceilings. The device produces an extremely high density material that has its own gravitational pull, greater than that of Earth, thus redirecting the effective 'down' direction for the object it is installed in.

      Dimension Compression DeviceC8
A device that uses flat-space technology. The device can be anything from a ring, to a backpack. What can be stored in the object varies, though sometimes size is relevant. Meaning a person cannot store a tank in a ring shaped D.C.D.
