The bulk of transportation models are mechanical and which are mass produced by the Sky Empire. However, there are some cruder models being made by the Earth Tribes. Either way, at one point in time or another, the other faction will get their hands on what the other has crafted. So it is not uncommon to see Ravein Piloted Vessels or Humans in Terrain Crawlers.
Sky Vessels: The large transport and trade vessels of the Sky Faction, these flying behemoths are slow, often underprotected, and prime targets for pirates, which has prompted many of their private owners to hire protection for their goods.
Air Ships: Lighter, faster, and more maneuverable than their Sky Vessel counterparts, Airships are frequently the vehicle of choice for pirates and smugglers as well as more legitimate small-scale operations. Of all the Sky Factionās technology, these are the engines most often found in possession of nonhumans, though the Emperor keeps all of the fastest, most agile models from being sold anywhere.
War Blimps: The Harbingers of the Empireās shadow, these massive war machines are outfitted with dozens of explosives and artillery. Though slower than an airship, the typical War Blimp is so armored that most ship cannons wouldnāt be able to pierce the sides, and bristling with myriad options to return fire. The massive construction also enables them to hold several hundred soldiers apiece. A prime example of why so many are wary of the Sky Factionās growing army.
- Dirigible: Mainly used by common-folk, dirigibles are aircrafts given flight by an hot air balloon. Since they are so cheap to produce, they are usually without armor and weapons. Depending on their propulsion system, they can be slow moving aircrafts steered through the air using rudders and propellers. They usually fly under the radar and are left alone. However, for this same reason, pirates find these as easy targets to gain a few supplies or charge a flying toll.
Terrain Walkers: Transport vehicles with large, alloyed ālegs,ā Terrain Walker have the advantage of elevating the cab portion of the vehicle, increasing visibility. Terrain Walkers are mobile bases/forts, capable of holding large amounts of people and even other vehicles. They travel often over long distances due to a top speed approaching 35 mph, but they still move pretty slowly.
Terrain Crawlers: Incredibly smaller than Terrain Walkers, Crawlers are outfitted to fit one to two people and maybe some cargo as well. They are steam-powered machines, capable of flight, at least some models are. Crawlers are used for quick, personal transport. They can be modified with armor and weapons, but civilian models are usually lacking both.
- Gun Tank: Obviously an offensive model, standard issued with twin gatling guns. However, this vehicle was not made with war in mind. Instead, its main purpose is wasteland survival. With so many dangerous animals roaming the lands as well as bandits and pirates, the average citizen needs to be better equipped to handle these threats. This is why the Gun Tank was made, with thick armoring and a large cabin made to fit around 5 people (not comfortably), it is well suited for wasteland travel.
- Desert Chopper: A favorite of Barren Wasteland citizens, this was made and produced by them. With just room for one person, though more have been seen riding on the large wheel, the Desert Chopper is perfect for the environment. Whether the wasteland or the sand, it can handle both due to its design. The vehicle has decent metal plating and the large bladed wheel can be revved and used as weapon to cut down most things in its path.
- Sand Ship: Sand Ships have only one purpose, that is to sail the harsh waves of the sand oceans. Most ravein find a living in those oceans, hunting the large and dangerous creatures that call in home. So these ships are fashioned in order to handle just that. They are fairly simple in design except for the fan blades at the rear that are used to give it an extra boost in speed. The range in size, from small boats to large vessels and of course room most be accounted for to hold supplies and crew.
Mobile Assault Suits: These maneuverable, andro-morphic mechs are most often piloted by a single person, though there is often room in the cockpit for a sole passenger, originally intended to serve as spotter. Most of them are somewhere between ten and eighteen feet tall, and capable of ground speeds in excess of 55mph.
- Exoskeleton: Similar to their big brother, the Mobile Assault Suit, Exoskeletons are created to cater to the exact same needs; just on a smaller scale. Being inside a Exoskeleton is like wearing a suit of armor. Like their counter-parts, they even started out as maintenance equipment. Often used for working on sky ships and vessels. That was until one suit was fashioned for a handicapped man. Not long after that, armor and weapons were introduced, turning them into suits of destruction.
Multi-Terrain Prototype: Once intended to be the first in a new line of ground-air-sand ocean war machines, the prototype model has the best technology can offer. Steam-powered twin engines propel it at almost 70 mph, a good chunk of speed faster than most airships, and much faster than anything on the ground. The ability to sail over sand oceans is not unique to the craft, but the Sky Faction does not possess any other model with the particular combination of capabilities as this one. It was stolen shortly after its first field test, renamed Decadence, and now serves as the flagship for the worldās most notorious pirate gang, the Asura.
Not all transportation in Dream Scar is made of wood or metal, some actually live and breathe. These creatures are mostly used to get from one to place to another. They were domesticated long ago by Ravein and Earthborn humans. Now they serve as pets and modes of transport.
Pterodon: The only flying animal of sufficient size and intelligence to be domesticated as transport, the Pterodon is a feathered reptile with birdlike feet, a keen beak, and resplendent multicolored scales. Most of them are only large enough to carry a single person, and reach a top speed of 35 mph in the air- significantly less if forced to walk.
Raptor: The most speed-oriented of transport animals, Raptors are bipedal lizards with short front legs and powerfully-developed hind ones. Clawed, and sharp of tooth, their greatest advantage is nevertheless their ability to carry two people of average raveing dimensions and still reach nearly 40 mph.
Deterran: Deterrans are the raveinās equivalent of a Terrain crawler. Massive quadruped reptilians capable of lifting five to seven people with ease, herds of these are a sure sign that a nomadic ravein group is stopped somewhere in the area, as the creatures, gentle by nature though very hardy, no longer live in the wild. Highly intelligent and capable of understanding speech to an uncanny level.
