Welcome, once again, to 2045! Sure, it may have plenty of similarities to our own world at a glance, but look a little closer and you'll find that a lot of things have changed in 30 years. Indeed, science fiction is present here. Therefore, this is an informative thread meant to be used as a reference for the sort of technology we might be seeing in the setting of the roleplay, be it robots, hoverboards or box weapons.

BluScreen Phones

The phones of the future! Although they share many functions with the SmartPhones/iPhones/Blackberries/Tablets/what have yous of today, they differ in form. They are completely flat tablet-sized screens consisting of nothing more than the screen itself! This paper-thin device is extremely flexible, and can be bent in a number of different ways to allow for many different utilities. Folded into a narrow band, this becomes a highly portable device that one can wear on their wrist or hold over their eyes. Fold it again and you got a device that fits in a single hand as easily as any phone of today. Unfold it completely and you got a whole screen to work with.

Nanotechnology is what hides all the secret functions of this transparent device, but the secret behind it is the substance known as [url=https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Graphene]Graphene[/i]. Simply put, it is a sheet of carbon atoms only one atom thick. Said substance is the most conductive material in the world as well as several times stronger than steel, while still being very flexible. It is used in all kinds of technologies that exist in 2045, even going so far as to replacing the silicon-based microchips used in computers.
