What happens when a little girl and her two little brothers are whisked off into the stars by a kid who doesn't seem to grow up? What will happen in the fantastical place called Neverland where time is of no matter when they arrive? It's truly up to you. Let's rewrite this marvelous tale and live for a while in Neverland. There's pirates, friendship, fairies, mischief, Indians, romance, mermaids, sword fights, lost children, fun, and magical boys... but most of all, there's adventure.

--- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- ---

--- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- ---

Tiger Lily peeked through the willowy trees with intense curiosity, as perky and spry as a rabbit. Her tan painted face was bright with inquisitiveness as her eyes darted across the scene. She was secretly peering at a group of lost kids while they danced about a camp fire in frenzied glee, all cheering and crying into the still forest air. It was early in the morning, the sun's gentle beams just starting to penetrate onto the forested island. There was a cool, salty breeze that would pass by occasionally, caressing the faces of all it touched. All in all, the day had been a peaceful, quiet one until the lost kids began to romp around like the notoriously playful fools they were.

Their shouts had echoed to Tiger Lily's ears through the wind's breath, and at once she had sprung from her resting spot in her favorite tree to hunt down the commotion. It was no surprise that Peter and his gang of children were the source of it. They flailed and leaped and rolled and bounced with the pounding of the drums, looking as wild as the creatures lurking just beyond the thin veil of vegetation. A coy smile touched her face at first, but soon she found herself giggling wildly at the goofy antics of them all. They looked positively silly- absolutely mad. She toppled over to the moist soil as she laughed hysterically, clutching her vibrating stomach as it fluctuated up and down with each tremendous howl escaping her lips.

Tiger Lily had forgotten all about being sneaky and stealthy, too caught up in how entertained she was. She had completely disregarded the fact that no one even knew she had been there, and she was making an enormous amount of noise with her unrestrained guffaws. Tiger Lily liked to laugh a lot; it was one of the most dearest things to her, more beautiful than any thing else in all of Neverland. Even the pain that was felt after, like her plump, dimpled cheeks being sore from her smiling or her tummy tender from shaking, she treasured. It was like proof that she had, indeed, laughed not too long ago. And out of all the pains she'd felt in her life, these were the most pleasant.

Peter was reclining in a tree playing his flute as the Lost Boys danced around the fire. They waved their arms, jumped as high as they could, clapped one another on the back, and threw leaves in the air. This was nothing but a celebration...one that had been going on all night. Celebrating what? Their own magnificence, of course. The Lost Boys ruled Neverland! And Peter, being their leader, well...that made him King!

Peter paused in his playing, his expression sobering suddenly. Amidst the pounding of drums, the whooping and hollering, even the thudding of feet on dirt, Peter could very much distiguish the bold sound of laughter. He searched the faces of his boys...no...none of the were laughing. Peter didn't spot Tink anywhere...besides, the laughter was too rich to be mistaken for hers.

Jumping from the tree, Peter walked in the direction he determined it was coming from. Passing by the fire and weaving his way through the circle of dancers, he walked up a small incline. Yes, there was definately laughter now. He drew his sword and used the tip of it to part the branches of a bush.

There, rolling on the ground, face red with laughter, was a girl he knew very well. But the familiarity did nothing to even his temper. He was quite sure, positive really, that the laughter was not in good sport, but in fact, she was mocking them. No...she was laughing at Peter. And he wouldn't stand for that.

"Hault there!" he yelled aiming his sword at her. "You're tresspassing on Lost Boy territory. Surrender or die, Tiger Lilly!"

Tiger Lily's face froze in her delight for at least five seconds after Peter Pan's sudden arrival, his words not yet soaking into her. Just the sight of her beloved Pan shut down all thought processes, so she just sat there in her blissful obliviousness, a silly grin painted on her face. Then, as if all at once, what he'd said to her hit her like a falling star. Her composer flip flopped in a mere second, radiating utter ecstasy one moment and pure enragement the next. She rocketed from her laxed position on the forest ground and onto her feet in one, agile movement. She stood with her hands clenched on her hips, her posture fierce and very openly angry, yet still somehow retaining her usual elegant poise. In that moment, Tiger Lily greatly could be compared to a a profoundly agitated Jaguar, ready to pounce.

"Peter Pan!" she cried, looking as shocked as she was furious. There she stood in all of her feisty glory, eyebrows furrowed, frown deep, and cheeks puffed out like an outraged fish. What nerve! It was safe to say she was offended on all accounts. These grounds were no more Lost Kids' territory than it was Piccaninny Indian territory, she reckoned. And how dare Peter trifle with her, no less. She was an excellent archer, the Chief's daughter, and a loyal ally to the Lost Kids. The audacity he had just made her blood boil and, though Tiger Lily was more than fond of Peter, (She had the intention of marrying him someday, after all.) her dignity was much too important for her. Not to mention, she was about as hot-tempered as the boy himself.

"I'd rather die than surrender to the likes of you, Peter Pan!" she spat passionately, a fire in her eyes twinkling in the heat of battle. All residents in Neverland had a knack for being overly dramatic, turning simple situations into a scene. She eyed her situation, realizing in that moment that she was greatly out numbered if she truly were to fight. The ration was about 1:20. With that thought, Tiger Lily was even more enthusiastic than before. "I'll take care of all of 'em if I hafta!" she thought, as determined and fervent as ever.

Peter didn't falter as Tiger Lilly jumped to her feet. His sword point remained steady at her throat. His expression did change however she she blatantly refused to surrender. His grip tightened, his eyes narrowed, and he firmly set his jaw. He took a step forward, making sure she remembered how much taller he was, and circled her. The encounter had drawn the attention of the others now. Which meant Peter had all the audience he wanted. How he loved to gloat.

"Well," he began with an arrogent droll. "Since you won't surrender, I suppose I should decide now how to kill you," he reasoned and tapped a finger to his chin as though he were thinking very hardly. "What shall we do with you ?" His question was rhetorical, of course. Often times when Peter spoke, it was only to remind himself that he still had a voice. "Tie her up and throw her into Mermaid Lagoon?" Several Lot boys cheered. "No no...perhaps we should cut you into pieces and send you back to your people. Piece. By Piece." He flicked one of her braids with his sword and chuckled. "No," he said leaning closer, "far too early in the morning to be killing." Glancing her over one more time.

"Well, seeing as how there are far too many choices, all of which are equally brilliant, I just can't seem to pick. So, inevitably...I'll let you go for now. Just to show how merciful and wonderful I am." He sheathed his sword and placed his hands on his hips. "Pan has chosen!" he declared and let out a loud crow as though it were a battle cry. Floating into the air, he perched himself back into the tree and began playing his flute again as though the altercation had never taken place.

As Peter circled her and pondered on the plan of action for her demise, Tiger Lily got the look many women do when they're upset. As she gazed up at the infinitely taller male, her eyes squinted until they were just two narrow slits and her mouth pursed in a dangerous tight line. She kept this scrutinizing gaze on him the entire time he spoke without ever moving from her rigid position, only craning her neck to keep him in sight. Every time he had paced too far for her head to turn without snapping her thin neck, she'd whip it to the other side as quickly as one of her arrows shot through the air. She was ever-aware of his thin blade pointing at her throat, as if the metal had been pumped with electricity. Finally Pan decided to spare her life, which she was irate over. Tiger Lily was very convinced that she could have fought and won for her life herself, and she didn't need any of his help to keep it.

"You're nothing but a bunch of savage beasts, you know!" she howled, still as heated as she'd been a moment ago. While Peter may have been an expert at pretending like no confrontation had happened and always maintaining his boyish playfulness, Tiger Lily found it much more difficult. She plopped down in the vegetation once more, crossing her arms over her chest and pouting moodily, angry tears prickling at her eyes. She brewed over the subject in her mind for eternity, getting more frustrated the longer she thought of it. It made her angrier that they had dropped it so quickly, prancing back to their dancing and chanting around the fire.

She stayed where she was for a lifetime, just sitting down and watching the lost children have fun enviously. "Just to show how merciful and wonderful I am." she mimicked childishly to herself, switching her voice a couple octaves until it was ridiculous enough. With a final roll of her eyes, she sighed, leaning her back against a tree. If only it weren't true. Tiger Lily had a feeling she wouldn't be nearly as upset if Peter weren't quite so wonderful.

The faint glimmer that always surrounded Tinkerbell would be the only thing hinting that the tiny fairy was hiding up in the canopy of the trees. She was watching her boys, a soft look on her usually angry features. They joked and laughed as they danced around the flames, smiles on every face. This is where she belonged, beside her boys.

Loud laughter came from a bush near the boys. Tink glanced down, her lips twisting up into a scowl. That Tiger Lily was back and here to ruin everything, as usual. She listened to Peter’s and her conversation with a malicious grin. That was her Peter, showing that stupid girl!

Once Peter had flown back to a tree, she followed after him. She landed gently on his left shoulder, her anger forgotten. “Peter!” She whispered into his ear with a giggle. When the boy would turn to look, she’d be gone. She now sat upon his right shoulder, a grin spreading over her features. “Over here!” She whispered again. Her laughter rang out like a chorus of bells.

**********

Darcy watched as Peter threatened Tiger Lily, his fists clenched. He didn’t like how Peter was treating her. She was a lady and should’ve been treated as such! Once the other boys and Peter had gone back to their dancing, he snick over towards where Tiger Lily sat. He gave her a bashful grin as he offered his hand to help her up. “Hello, Tiger Lily.”

*******

Tom rolled out of his hammock and landed on the wood of the ship with a groan. Why’d he have to get up so early – “Tom! Get out ‘ere you no good-” Ah. That was why. He hurried up the steps to face the angry pirate who’d called his name.

“Yes, sir.” The pirate looked him up and down.

“Ya get to swabbing the decks, now.” He threw a mob and pail at him. “Get going!”

He sighed to himself as the irate pirate stormed away. “Just my luck.” Tom rolled his eyes and began to clean.

Peter paused in his flute playing. Tink had called him. Turning his head in the direction her voice had come, he chuckled when he only saw the small trail of fairy dust signaling her flight. This was their favorite game. He felt her perch on his shoulder and he playfully took a swipe at her.

Carefully holding her in his hand, he smiled brightly, "hullo there, Tink!" he called. "I was wondering where you'd gone off too!" Tink was his very best friend in the whole wide world. Despite her size, and their frequent arguments, she'd always been there for him. His first memory in Neverland was with her.

"Did you see how merciful I was with Tiger Lily?" he asked with beaming eyes. "She's lucky I'm such a nice bloke."

Re: In Neverland ||IC||

Tips: 0.00 INK Postby Averagebear on Fri Jun 25, 2010 11:34 pm

Tiger Lily continued her childish brooding for as long as she possibly could, crumpled in an angry mess on the ground. She had every intention of sitting there until Peter came back over to apologize for being such a nanner head. Her plan was working quite well (she was, after all, still sulking) until one of the lost boys approached her timidly. She tossed her head over to look at him, a haughty blank face being the only offer she gave to his sloppy grin. The boy was pale, thin, and perfectly disheveled, but he certainly was no Peter Pan, and given the horrendous mood Tiger Lily was in (and considering how upset she was with the lost kids in general) it should have been no surprise to anyone how coldly she treated the poor, innocent kid. For a girl so big hearted, she had a way with crushing others in a single look.

She stared the boy down, keeping her straight face for as long as possible. She would win the battle, no matter what! However, before long a smile tugged at the ends of her lips as she tried to suppress a new fit of giggles. Tiger Lily tried to fight it- she wanted to drown in her misery- but she failed in the end. She turned her head, so as to hide her silent laughter, but it should have been clear to the boy that she was amused by the shaking of her shoulders. Finally, the stubborn princess gave Darcy a huge gleaming smile and grabbed hold of his outstetched hand. She yanked herself up and hugged him without hesitation, much too forward for a young lady to be. Tiger Lily was the master of playing these games, stretching out her disapproval for as long as she could, until every last drop of her anger was drained out of her tiny body. Her moodiness was often at the expense of others, and in this case, at the expense of Darcy the lost boy.

"Good morning, Darcy. I saw you... uh, dancing." she said, tripping over her words when trying to describe the acts around the campfire. She said everything distantly, not really paying much attention to neither him nor her words. You see, while she spoke to Darcy, she couldn't help but glance over at Peter in the trees, looking as happy as a dog with the wretched Tinkerbell. Her face pinched in jealousy, and soon she couldn't stand watching him any longer, flinging her eyes back to Darcy. Her feelings must have been painted across her face, though, because the look he gave her indicated that he understood what she was thinking. While Tiger Lily might have been excellent at a lot of things (shooting arrows, running, climbing trees, hunting, making her father angry) she was horrible at hiding her feelings. She busied herself with speaking once more, embarrassed by being caught gazing at Peter. "And I saw you the other day hunting with your pack of children, right? You were quite good. Your aim was accurate for a normal boy." she continued, making direct eye contact as she spoke.

Tinkerbell gave another bell like giggle. “You were much to kind, Peter!” The fairy slipped out of his grasp to sit upon his head. She leant down until she was staring into his eyes. “I wouldn’t have been so nice. Look at her, bothering your Lost Boy!” She gestured over towards the pair. “What you can do is ignore Tiger Lily.” She paused and added, “Forever.”

********

Darcy watched with baited breath as she ignored him for a few moments. Before he knew it, she was laughing quietly. She grabbed a hold of his hand, pulling herself up, and wrapped her thin arms around him. He blushed a bright red as she hugged him.

His blush increased as she mentioned the dancing. “Oh, yeah, well you see-” He began to stumble over his words as he spoke to her. He kept getting distracted by the way she smiled. He watched her turn her eyes up into the trees where he knew Peter would be sitting. He sighed and followed her gaze, noticing Tink sitting up with him.

He decided to help her out. “Don’t worry, Tiger Lily. Peter loves Tink like he would a ‘lil sister.” He gave another one of his large smiles, intent on reassuring the beautiful girl that Peter could like her. He pretended not to have spoken and continued on. “Oh. I-I’m okay. Not as good as Peter.” He gave a wistful sigh. “But thank you. I’ve seen you before, you’re very good!”

Tiger Lily blushed thoroughly at the mention of Peter. She began to downcast her eyes, and study her feet kicking pebbles on the ground below. With interlaced hands and a steady swaying, she pondered his encouraging words. "Peter loves Tink like he would a 'lil sister." she said in her mind, a coy smile melting onto her face. If that were true- which it must be if Darcy had said it- then she wouldn't have to worry about anything! Well, spare the mermaids... and the fairies... and the lost girls... It was the painful truth that every girl in Neverland was horribly enchanted by Peter. They couldn't possibly adore him as much as Tiger Lily, she bargained, but they were certainly fond of him.

She snapped out of her bashful daze the moment he started talking about hunting again, her eyes once more meeting the other's and all of her awkward movements having ceased. "My father says I'm one of the best in our tribe!" she proclaimed proudly, not one ounce of modesty in her body. "He says that I'm so good 'cause I know all the crooks and crannies of this place. I've got thousands and thousands of hiding spots, you see." she continued animatedly, "That's what happens when you always wander off and cause trouble." She explained it all like she was teaching the boy, as if everything she was saying was a difficult concept to understand. She didn't speak to him like he was idiotic, but like she was talking about quantum physics... whatever that was.

"Do you like to explore, Darcy the lost boy? I like to explore." she inquired further, her mind whizzing like a hummingbird and never staying on the same train of thought for very long (unless she was upset, of course). She had a habit of speaking a person's full title when she said their name. She got it from her father who did it out of respect when speaking to other village elders, but when she said it, it simply sounded peculiar.

Taylor had wandered off from the other Lost Kids earlier that morning. She had stuck around for breakfast, but when a colorful butterfly swept past their tree house, she couldn’t help but do scramble down the ladder and follow the bright creature. Taylor perused the butterfly through the thick jungle trees and onto the sandy beaches. It was just before she reached the Indian camp when the winged creature had stopped the chase to rest on a large flower. The opportunity was perfect for the barefooted girl, as she sprung onto the plant, clasping the butterfly between two cupped hands.

Even after the long run, Taylor wasn’t short of breath and she headed back towards the hangout area, gleeful with her new trophy. She kept a quick paste as she dodged the brush and roots, before hearing a familiar sound in the distance, causing her to make a sharp left. There, seated carelessly in one of the trees was Peter himself, his infamous flute in hand. Taylor could make out the tiny fairy of Tink seated on his shoulder, and the other Lost Kids seemed to be having a great time making fools out of themselves as they danced and yelled. Taylor planned to join them, but not after showing off her new pet to the others.

Stepping out from behind the trees, she gazed around, planning on showing the creature to Peter before her blue eyes fell upon Tiger Lily. A wide grin made its way onto Taylor’s face as she burst towards the girl, who was accompanied by Darcy, a Lost Boy. “Look what I found!” She squealed, opening her hands just wide enough for them to get a quick peak at the bright red butterfly held inside. “I’m gonna keep it for a little while then cut off his wings and try to teach it to walk!” she exclaimed.

Katoya sighed, reluctantly coming out of her sleep. Her eyes were still closed as she ran her fingers through the sand, which had been warmed by the sun and felt good against her skin. It took her a few seconds to realize that something was wrong. Wait- sun? Sand?! She sat up quickly, her eyes flying open as she shifted around on the beach. What on Earth.. where am I?! her thoughts screeched at herself as she retraced her steps from waking up yesterday morning. The last thing she remembered, was laying down in her bed and falling asleep. So, how the heck had she ended up on a beach? There wasn't even a beach near her house!

The panicing girl scrambled up from her spot in the sand and twirled around, scanning the area around her for anything familiar. Nothing. With a sigh, she turnedtoward the trees behind her, seeing a warn path between them. While contemplating whether or not to go inside, she yanked on the hem of her purple nightdress and decided she must still be dreaming. She pinched herself; nothing, so she squeezed even harder muttering "wakeupwakeupwakeup" until she felt like she was about to give herself a bruise. Letting out a small grunt, she shrugged it off and started towards the trail.

After what seemed like forever of walking through unfamiliar trees, the sound of voices and laughter reached her ears. She turned towards them and stepped as quietly as she could, making sure to keep low to the ground- she didn't know who or what could be making the noise, at this point. Suddenly, something ran right past her, causing her to give out a small squeak and dive into the greenery to hide. When she looked through them, she saw that it had been a little girl, carrying something in her hands. The girl was talking to another girl, who looked like an indian or something native to the land, and a sort of scruffy and dirty looking blond boy.

When she looked to the other side of her, she saw a clearing full of more kids, dancing around, shouting, and laughing; a few feet in front of her, up in a tree, was a boy. Her brow furrowed. The girl didn't know what to think of any of this; she was still trying to convince herself that she was still asleep, and it was all a dream. Then a voice reached her ears, and what she heard made her eyes go wide. “I’m gonna keep it for a little while then cut off his wings and try to teach it to walk!” Kat turned back towards the little girl, and looked at her hands again; cupped there was a beautiful red butterfly. "Uhhh..." she accidentally vocalized, wondering why the girl was so happy about torturing a butterfly.

Tiger Lily's smile just grew wider when Taylor came zipping up to her again. Taylor was one of her favorite lost children of all time. She had a certain all-natural, genuine, and rough quality about her. She wasn't like the little girls in her tribe who giggled and cooed all bashfully, pretending to be cute little birds and making eyes at boys. No, Taylor was a bonafide piece of work, always dirty and playful and most of all sincere. Though she had a way of becoming a little too rowdy, and sometimes a little too loud, all of her intentions were- usually- pure. Tiger Lily crouched down to see what the little girl had in her hands and was surprised to see a beautiful butterfly.

"I’m gonna keep it for a little while then cut off his wings and try to teach it to walk!" the little girl exclaimed and Tiger Lily squirmed in her skin. "Taylor, why don't you let the butterfly go intact? He'll be outcasted by the other butterflies and, even if he knows how to walk, they'll never be impressed." she said, putting it in very loose terms. She knew that Taylor would understand that phrasing because Tiger Lily had a feeling the little girl felt outcasted quite frequently. The boys tended to pick on her for being a girl, despite her efforts to prove them wrong. She gave the little girl one last smoldering look, her natural motherly instincts picking up. Then, in a flash, her facade was gone.

A peculiar girl approached the camp fire, a girl she instantly recognized as a normal human girl. Her eyes narrowed, her muscles tensed, and her position in front of Taylor became more protective. The lost children were always so fascinated with human girls- something she personally never understood. Tiger LIly herself was wary of them because she'd only witness them cause trouble. "Halt there, girl. Who are you?" she commanded fiercely, "If you do anything fishy, I'll get Peter on you! Now what is your business?"

Peter heard his name and jumped from the tree ignoring Tink's idea to shun Tiger Lilly. If someone was talking about him (likely about his many wonderful accomplishements, his bravery, his darring swordfights, his brilliant flying, etc...) then he wanted to hear it first hand.

Upon returning to the former scene from which her so mercifully let Tiger Lilly go free, he saw quite the ordeal unfolding. Taylor was cupping a butterfly, Darcy was an uncommon shade of red (perhaps he was tunring into a tomato), Tiger Lilly was fuming (again) and there was quite a strange creature standing amidst them looking perplexed.

"What are you?" Peter asked abruplty and rather loudly (it was one of his many techniques for commanding attention...the attention he deserved).
