Slowly, in fact so slow no one noticed, the world around us deteriorated -
Bread, now replaced by nutrition pastes and other industrially processed foods, is a luxury
only the middle and upper class can afford. Due to the rise in both terrorism and criminality,
the government was forced to temporarily accept laws and precautions that may intervene
with civil liberties. Minorities are being discriminated against, especially Muslims -
leading to an unprecedented tension in the religious sphere. Movies, Theatre plays and music
have to pass the Ministry of art's censor board, after all our youth needs protection
from harmful influences.
The newly created lower classes, the plebs, consisting mostly of manual workers and day workers,
tend to accept more radical viewpoints, such as those of the " White Crusaders " or the
" Socialists " in hope for a better change.
As if all of this was not enough for our poor democracy to bear, there is a group of
underground " resistance ", extremists fighting for the rights of genetic abominations
called psyonics, who are a danger to our liberties. It was them who forced the governments hand
into researching cybernetic augmentations, making them nearly ready for the assembly lines.
It is in those troubled times that your character has to take a stand and decide where his
loyalty is. Will you save the world? Or will you enslave it?
Trust no one. Question everything.
