The sun was shining brightly and the air was thick with humidity in LA that morning, the morning Rory was to leave her childhood home behind. So many memories were in this house, so many memories of her father and brother and those were the memories that stung the most. Despite the hurt, Rory did not want to leave this house. She felt it was the only way to have a connection to her father and brother and leaving would sever that tie for her. So needless to say she was unhappy.
So with head phones in her ear and her music blasting, Rory sat there on her front steps waiting for some guy named Noah to get her and the car. Her mother said she had met him years ago, but she didn't remember a thing about him and now she had to spend five days with him driving across the country. She definitely wasn't thrilled about that since she just wanted to be alone in her room and staying in California. New York City was too big of a change for her, especially at this point in time.
Minutes passed as she sat in the hot sun with her luggage, her red hair braided into a messy side braid. She wore short shorts and a lime green tank top and due to this choice in clothes her fair skin was exposed to the sun, causing her to burn and tan all at the same time. Rory could care less about this at the moment though, she actually could care less about a lot of things. This for some reason got her wondering if this Noah guy would want to try and talk to her the whole way. She already made up her mind that she would talk, but only as little and simple as possible and this guy would have to deal with that. So with that she continued to sit there and wait for her ride to New York.
