Shields and Armour Your Opinion of there Use in MV

I am rather curious after having a discussion on this in Skype, note my examples of this are Tiaan my snow elf she can summon an ice shield, but ice is easily smashed so she needs to keep maintaining it, over time if she keeps on, even with higher stamina than humans, she would eventually fall unconscious and thus dead. In my opinion this is shields done right, but sure there is other examples here, and would love to hear them.
We help the multi-nationals
when they cry out protect us.
The locals scream and shout a bit,
but we don’t let that affect us.
We’re here to lend a helping hand
in case they don’t elect us.
How dare they buy our products
yet still they don’t respect us.

Shields and armour are utterly underrated. Throw a magic enchantment on a shield and say its unbreakable? You now have an awesome defense that takes an unnecessarily excessive amount of overpowering to break it. And if your opponent is so strong that they can break a shield with an unbreakable enchantment then a shield logically shouldn't be that much use at that point...

Heck, one of my characters gave another character a shield with a reflection enchantment. That's amazingly powerful. Projectiles bouncing off? G'damn. A decent fighter could do wonders with that, and from a roleplay perspective it makes for a really cool weapon.

And then we move to an unpowered environment... Where armour is king. I don't care how fast you strike, I'm just going to reposition my guy slightly so your deadly blow has to make it past my halberd and then my armour.

Shields are probably best countered by their slow and obtuse designs. Maneuvering around one makes it a lot more fair.
Once more, with rhythm!

Is this a discussion of the logical use of game mechanics?

Game mechanics vary depending on who you ask and the properties involved.
