Adventure Of Stick

This is a thread that's also an adventure game, sort of, mostly full of poorly drawn with stickmen and squares (and no sense of perspective). It's also about Super Heroes! But before the game can really begin I need volunteers to play the characters, up to five at most. How the game will play is each person involved gets to post what they want to do next, and then I will hastily draw it up in an image and post it on here, as well as any resulting actions.

So, anyone feel free to chip in until there's five characters posted.

The setting of this adventure game will be in the city of Brightdell, population two million. It's a sprawling metropolis on the cost made up of skyscrapers and strip malls. For a long time Brightdell was famous for being one of the few major cities that did not have a superhero thanks to a low crime rate. But that reputation could not last forever. Thanks to an accident last year at the power plant a large part of the industry of the city was taken out leaving many jobless. A sudden influx of crime followed, and the unready police force are struggling to handle it.

It's time for a hero to rise in the city of Brightdell and return things to how they were!

Just a couple of notes. I will post sporadically when I'm available probably 2-3 times a day. I won't wait up for everyone to post, but you can always jump back into the action after idly standing to the side. There won't be many (if any) chances to roleplay, but if you want to RP out a scene with someone on the side then feel free (so long as it doesn't change the story!) And most of all, remember just to have fun.

Ah yes, Jade Rose. It wasn't until recently that you realized what had happened so long ago in your early teen years when one day you lashed out, then blanked out, but you always remember your classmates being a little cautious from then on. No one told you what had happened, but you could start to piece it all together, especially when just the other week you first saw what your powers could do...

Your life was normal, except you were one of the few people in the world with the 'Extra-Gene', as they called. Your DNA just had something a little more than the normal person, which sets you apart from them as a mutant. But this is a good thing, the Extra-Gene means you can do things nobody else can! But what is it? Choose!

Pyrokinesis
Your body is capable of making and sustaining a highly flammable liquid which you can expel from your fingers and palms. On hitting the air it ignites, ready to be thrown about. Thankfully the same liquid also means your hands are a lot more resistant to heat and burns, but you'll still suffer a little bit when you use this power.

Spitting Snake
As you grew up there was always this strange rubbing at your throat. At first doctors said it was just inflammation and gave you pills to make it go down, but when you came off the pills you weren't so sure it was a medical condition. In truth it was two small venom pouches, one to either side of your throat and connected to the underside of your tongue that let's you spit a nasty chemical spray. It's its non-fatal and like pepper spray in strength, practically burning the eyes and nose if you get it in your face. Unfortunately, you're not immune to it.

Bone Mutation
You never had a broken bone in your life, or so the doctors told you. But in actual fact it was just your mutant power subtly working behind the scenes without you knowing. Your bones actually grow and heal at an incredible rate, which seems great except... They're inside you. Due to an... incident that will remain untold, you discovered you can almost painlessly grow bones up through your own flesh and muscle. You just can't get the bone growths to go back in without snapping them off (which mercifully doesn't hurt).

File Report on Subject 002
Subject 002 developed feline ears at age [REDACTED]. He was taken from [REDACTED] (Subject 002's hometown) for study on the Extra-Gene. After [REDACTED] years we have come to the conclusion that no further change has undergone his body and he is to be released as a normal functioning member of society.

A psychological exam was not taken before leaving the program, but [REDACTED] is sure there will be no long term consequences. On the day he was released the [REDACTED] was reported missing, but we do not suspect he is responsible are related to the crime at this time.

Sometimes someone falls through the cracks of the system, and this time it is Subject 002. A fault of a bureaucratic society treating him like a test subject instead of a human being, he has been cast out into the harsh world with no support or guidance. All he has is that one piece of technology that went missing that day.

The Remaking Sword
Thrown out because it was mistaken for a spare part or junk, the hilt of a powerful technological sword was found by you in the junkyard nearest the science lab you were released from where you could immediately recognize its value. That is to say, you could immediately see the hilt magnetizing all different parts of metal until it formed a weapon. On testing you found it could form a variety of different shapes! However, the battery runs out pretty quickly and needs to be left off to recharge every now and again.

The Jetpack
A revolutionary jetpack literally fell into your lap. This jetpack uses no traditional energy source, which means it can fly for much longer and without polluting exhausts or dangerous heat being expelled from ignition. Even on the coldest day it starts, and its only about as large as a loaf of bread. However being so small it doesn't have quite as much power as you would hope, and it doesn't have quite as sharp turning as you would like.

The Alien Orb
A strange ball that almost seems to have an intelligence of its own. When you hold this ball (about the size of a bowling ball and around as heavy!) you can almost hear a melodic voice. The ball heeds your command, launching out at great speeds, then flying back towards your grip. It can do you no harm, as if it refuses! However, the ball sometimes doesn't agree with you. While it can be a wrecking ball of destruction, sometimes it just seems to say no.

Subject 001 was initially taken for experiments with advanced technology. Before testing, eco-terrorists attacked the facility because of our cover (a factory for testing makeup on animals) and he escaped.

Yes, you have eco-terrorists to thank for your freedom. You can only imagine their confusion when they broke into the factory and found no beauty products or animals, just you with a bit of science sticking out of your body. Well good enough for them, they dragged your unconscious body back to their headquarters, where you finally got to wake up and see just what they'd done to you.

Cyber Eye
One of your eyes had been replaced with a robotic one and hooked up to your brain giving you two amazing capabilities. The first, infrared vision in that eye and the second a short ranged high temperature laser beam that can reach up to six feet!

Gravity Hand
You notice one of your hands is missing and has been replaced with a robotic one instead, with a glass ring running around the middle of the palm. On a thought command the glass ring lights up red and pulls distant objects to it, or lights up green and pushes objects away from it.

Chassius
It took a heck of a lot of work, but they cut you open and replaced your ribs with metal ones, meaning your body is a lot heavier, but also like a wrecking ball. All damage to your chest is pretty much superficial, or at least only hurts your skin and muscle, as there's no way anything, even bullets, will punch through your metal ribcage.

I assure you, on the head you have very dark eyes, it's just hard to see because you're a stick man.

Thanks to one thing or another you were invited to a private tour of the Museum of Villainy, Brightdell's museum dedicated to the all things confiscated from the criminally insane. But unfortunately one careless shove sent you hurtling face first into an exhibit. Unbeknownst to you or any of the curators until much later, you had actually taken a part of the science away with you. Specifically, it was...

Flesh of Ice
Due to some sort of strange composition of science in your body you have gained the ability to turn parts of your body into ice. Ice is naturally more durable than normal flesh, and you can regrow any broken ice parts over a minute. However, ice joints simply don't work, and your body still needs its vital organs (and your brain) to work, so turning those to ice might cause a slight case of death.

Gecko Powers
The gift of the gecko from a notorious nameless shaman who had a strange fascination with animal spirits. You have gained the amazing powers of static cling, good eyesight in the dark and a long, strong, sticky tongue. You also have these neat short claws but unfortunately you have a tail which doesn't seem to fit your current clothes.

Go-Go Gadget Spring
Springs. You fell asleep one night and the next morning you realized your arms had been replaced by tightly wound coils. At will you can release them, extending either your arms or legs rapidly to launch you skyward or reach something very far. However the springs don't have a sense of 'control'. They are either coiled or not, which means you will always punch really far or throw yourself high in the air.

You're fully welcome to do a ponytail if this isn't what you had in mind, just remember its me who's going to copy paste draw the head.


Okay so we hit that weekend hump where productivity crashes, but I will make an effort when I wake and get back from the local farmers markets to get a start on this.

It's ladies night at Larry's By The Alley. Get your hand stamped at the door and you your first drink free! So naturally its drawn a crowd. However, the bouncer at the door won't let Rose in because she's obviously underage. Meanwhile there's a cry for help from Larry's titular alley. Something must be going down! The bouncer is too distracted to care.

But where is Target Twelve? Well he secretly lurks on top of the building, out of sight, out of mind and safely awaiting a dramatic reveal!

After losing track of her friends in a crowd somewhere, Lynn is on her way home when she hears a cry for help from a nearby alley. Somewhat hindered by her claws, she quickly retrieves a small rectangular object from her pocket, and scans the alley with her acute night vision. Lynn coils her tail and stands at a ready... ready to dial 911 on her cellphone.

OOC: I'm not sure what format you want our replies in, Patch, or how serious/silly you want them to be. Guidelines? :D

Looking over Larry's,T 12 notices the E.M.P.C. [Emergency Mutant and Paranormal Control] searching nearby,pretending to be policemen.Using his infra-red ability,T 12 spots their obvious searching equipment in a parked car in a different alley. Hearing the cry for help,he turns to laser abilities,glancing around for any perpetrators.
