Kedora was displeased, but its plan had worked. The mines were deactivated, and with that, the 45 other ships warped in, the group of vessels lead by the largest command ship, a 70 mile long
Exelion class battleship. Inside, the massive ship had 40
Super type VF-25 Variable Fighters, and to counter the cloaked ships, they had
60 Recon type VF-24 Variable Fighters launching, their large sensor domes scanning for the gravity wakes that even a cloaked ship would have. With the com disrupters active, they would use laser transmissions to send information, as well as sending small customized
AIF-7 Ghost drones as Currier craft, the tiny fighters rushing in and out between ships, transmitting data via point blank range microwave and wire transmission.
There were more craft launching from the massive command ship, as 100
VF-11s launched, then finally, the main mechs came out, the machines heading for the planet proper. Drop ships full of robotic combat troopers, and several Motoko types launched from the main ship, the rain of units like a perverse seeder, dropping its cargo onto the planet's surface. This was all the work of one single ship alone.
The original 15 machines had their own cargo, their wings of VF-25s, and VF-17s heading to intercept the bombers. The more advanced VF-25s would fire reaction weapons and chainguns at the bombers, while the VF-17s stood to defend the ships from cloaked fighters. One of the Intrepid class ships fired a wave of phased energy cannons upon the Interdictor class ship, while a New Macross class ship transformed, preparing to punch the ship in its hull again. This time, it would be backed up by another New Macross class ship, this one putting its barrier over the two ships, spreading it to cover its partner. The remaining Intrepid class ships played backup, firing phased shots and long range missiles at the Interdictor's hull, to help weaken its defenses.
The Excelsiors wanted blood, however, and they fired a full volley at the Last Stand, the twin fire hopefully overwelming the ship's shields. They were the mid guard, between the forward assault division and the main fleet, which would drop their cargo onto the world proper. With their bubble shields at power, they were going to take this battle to the heart of the cloaked fleet.
The other Galaxy class ships fired a full on wave of wide beam phaser shots, attempting to hit the cloaked ships where they might be hiding. It would take some time for the RVF forces to gain successful telemetry on the cloaked ships, so all firing was done by using good old fashioned mathematical laws. One of the 45 ships was a large cruiser, with massive armor on its forward section. It did little more than accelerate, preparing to impact the surface of a planet. Two more of this class, prepared to do the same, then three, then four... In total there were 10 ships entering the atmosphere, preparing to crash into the large points of ice. Inside, the reactors were set to overload, the fusion reactions already reaching the point of critical mass. To compare it to a star, the reactor was about to simulate a small nova event, or more likely, a stellar event in which a star ejects its outer layers, becoming a white dwarf.
The 35 ships left launched their fighters and mechs, preparing to cover the Originals and the drop objects. Operation: Overdevil was on its way.
Kedora was smiling, as much as an AI command factory could smile. It had two days to work on more ships, as it finished a fighter carrier, little more than a large frame and a Fold Drive, and it placed fighters aboard them. This was sent into fold, the large vessel defolding above the planets' south Pole. The fighters flew off before the frame fell apart, as the units all prepared to dive, their cargo of large Reacton and Atomic missiles tucked below them. Kedora wanted more backup for its Overdevil operation, as it sent the few other fighter carriers, at the North pole region. The planet seemed a target for many units, who all wanted to complete their final mission.
