What is Vocaloid? Vocaloid is a voice synthesizing program for all music lovers. What is a Vocaloid? A Vocaloid is one of the many characters that takes on a voice and form for the program. There are many of these characters, all with different looks, voices, and personalities. Most of which are from Vocaloid2 opposed to the original Vocaloid.

Once created, these Vocaloids became one of the most popular things out there. Like everything else though, as the years went by the love for Vocaloid slowly dropped before it was nothing.

There was one man, though, who had not lost his interest. In fact, he was willing to make it bigger then it was ever before. Instead of just a computer program Vocaloid was now composed of humanoid robots built specifically for singing. 2 years later, he released his idea and it gained instant popularity. Factories in Japan started their production on Vocaloid3. Soon the production spread to America and other major countries.

The models were something only the rich could afford, and they would be able to have the fun of competing with others to gain fame in the music world. The original Vocaloids were built first, Miku Hatsune, Len and Rin Kagamine, Kaito, Meiko, Luka, and any others you can think of. Once built, they grabbed the number of fans they had before.

All this sounds like peaches and cream, right? Not until you know one little detail that the man who came up with the idea kept from the rest of the world and even the Vocaloids themselves. The souls of real girls and boys were trapped inside those mechanical bodies. How they got there, only he knows.

A couple years later the man passed away but he sent on his teachings to a few others so they could continue manufacturing the Vocaloids. This'll take place in Tokyo, Japan. Will the public ever find out exactly what’s going on? Will the Vocaloids ever find out? Are the Vocaloids always going to be thought of as just singing machines? That’s something we’ll have to decide.

RULES AND GUIDLINES:
-No godmooding or powerplaying
-Don’t be disrespectful in OOC
-This isn't a master/slave roleplay so don't post anything R rated. Think of this as more of a parent/child rp.
-Try to keep the ratio of Vocaloids and Vocaloid owners even
-There cannot be copies of any one Vocaloid
-You are allowed to have a character that has nothing, or almost nothing, to do with Vocaloid
-Please keep the cussing to a minimum
-Please, PLEASE, no Mary Sues! (If you don’t know what a Mary Sue is look it up)
-Don't join if you know you'll be inactive
-Avoid one liners, although writer's block in understandable
-Vocaloid owners CAN have more than one Vocaloid
-Have fun! XD

A LITTLE ABOUT THE VOCALOIDS IN THIS RP:
As you already know, the Vocaloids in this rp are humanoid robots built for singing. Not much has changed, huh? Except this time the Vocaloids are being taken care of and guided by humans instead running around on their own. So here are some things you need to know:
-There is a small lid on their backs that hides an outlet
-The outlet on their backs is specially designed for a certain plug to fit into it
-That plug connects the Vocaloid with the computer where songs and other applications, like language installments, can be downloaded onto the Vocaloids. Plugging up the Vocaloid is also the way to recharge it which takes around 8 hours. (The number of hours a human should sleep)
-Hooking the Vocaloid up to the computer is also the only way to turn it on and off, you can choose to protect the virtual on and off switch with a password

This is based off of a real voice synthesizing program called Vocaloid. That really does come with different characters and voices. xD But if you were talking about the actual plot... well, I'm sure it's been done before but it was something I thought of one day. (And also on a random note, I have a friend who loves the anime in your icon xD)

OK, that's cool then. I thought this was based of a manga or a novel or something, in which case I wouldn't want to join, because (obviously) I've never heard of it.

Personality: Highly social, and a bit of a chatterbox. She doesn't hold grudges, and makes friends easily. Also somewhat arrogant, which comes from being particularly intelligent when it comes to math (a skill that doesn't come in all that handy, being an actress) and from being rich.
Background: Jessica was born in the United States, and she's half Japanese, half Korean. She started her acting career in seventh grade, in commercials and other such things, then co-starred in a TV show called "Vampire of 29th Avenue" and starred in a movie called Becky of Japan when she was sixteen. Her parents are divorced, and she has no brothers and sisters. She lives with her mother when she is at home. (And no, she's not like Miley Cyrus, she doesn't lead a normal life on the side.)
Other: She's a technophile. (Not in a geeky way, more in a must-have-new-thing-now way.)

Personality: Kokoro can be rather shy at times, but once she warms up to you she is really kind and friendly. The time she gets on stage is when she is most outgoing and hyped up. She enjoys singing love songs; not that she is in love with anyone, she just finds them fun to sing.
Background: Kokoro was a normal high school student who lived a normal. Every day she hung out with her friends and even had a weekend job. A dark figure took away her normal life by promising her beauty, and that was when she became a Vocaloid.

Name: Akito Hanari
Gender: Male
Age: 16
Occupation: Vocaloid owner
Appearance: Akito is about 6’ tall and has short, dark blue hair along with deep red eyes. He is usually found wearing a black T-shirt and a pair of blue jeans. His skin isn’t exactly tan but it isn’t exactly pale either.
Personality: Akito is rather quite, not shy, just quite. Most of the time it’s because he’s thinking about something. Despite that he makes for a loyal and trusting person who also is a hard worker.
Background: Akito comes from a rich family who buys him almost anything he wants. Other than that he’s lived a pretty normal life as an only child with both of his parents.

He is usually cold, emotionless, calm, cool minded, does not fear people who threaten him and blunt with the truth. He will lie when he wants or has to and can be a trickster. He is a bit of a hopeless romantic and his real personality is hidden from people most of the time. He really is kind, sweet, caring, nice, kind hearted, truthful, a little bit of a trickster, he speaks his mind, he wont take any insults or crap from anyone, he is also a little silly. He loves listening to music and reading manga or reading books that are about romance, supernatural, horror, zombies, war, guns, murder, rape, kidnap, and other weird types of books. He is also very smart and has his wits about him most of the time. He is a bit shy and he blushes and gets embarrassed easily but other people find him intimidating sometimes. He likes to see the world, travel, sit outside near a tree or look at the sky from a high place. He loves rollercoasters and water rides and he can seem like a little kid some times. He hates spicy stuff and loves sweet things, sour things, japanese and chinese foods, german foods, and korean foods. He loves to play the gutair and he will carry it around on his back. He can play any instrument because he has a perfect hearing towards music.

Background:
He was a senior in highschool and he played in a band. He was taken away after a gig in Japan by a man who said he could become famous if he came with him. The next thing he knew he was a vocaloid. He is now in a vocaloid band called "Silver Bullet" He plays the eletric guitar and sings.

Other:
He was styled to be the first half animal based vocaloid and he has black wings, black wolf ears and a black wolf tail that has some ash gray mixed in it(winter season..so it is big and fluffy). His wingss and ears and tail will appear at free will.

Sorry for the big picture T_T

Personality: She's a bit of a nut case, in a good way. Loves to do crazy things, more than once gets herself into trouble. She says things as they are - a very genuine person. Hates being lied to for something serious - if it's something minor she ends to not care but she'll take a mental note of things. Pretty clever. Underneath it all though, lays a serious girl - whose bad side you don't want to be on.

Background: Parent's are divorced, she lives with her father for a few days than, in turn with her mother. Her dad is a Vocaloid builder. She herself hasn't got much to do with building them, she is observing her father thus learning from him. She is currently trying to build her very own Vocaloid - although it is a long term project since she still lacks a lot of knowledge. Kimiko has been playing the Piano for several years now - 12 years in total. Her mother pushed her to become a professional pianist, which she has pretty much achieved with various compositions arranged by her. She is scheduled for a few more concerts at the local opera hall - even though her style is classic to post pop modern.
