Adam stepped into his dark classroom, kicking open the door with his foot. Even though he had asked for a new latch for his door, his school district failed to get him one, so it was impossible for him to lock or shut his door. However it was handy at the moment, because he had a large box of books in his arms. He heaved them over to the first desk. The bell rang unleashing the hoard of students back from summer break. "Here we go." he sighed, and began cleaning his white board, for the first time this school year.

Nathen and William had begun their drive to school about 20 minutes ago, and were now close enough to set eyes on it. It William hadn't been too sure what to expect honestly, but some how it wouldn't have been this. He obtained his schedule and walked quickly to his first hour, British lit. Luckily Nathen had the same first hour.

It was odd to see the two boy walk side by side because, while William was only about 5'4", Nathen was a towering 6'5". They walked into class saying nothing, simply scanning the new people. The whole week went about the same, that is until Friday came.

William and Nathen had gotten into a car accident earlier that day, meaning they were both late to school. William had been unharmed, but Nathen had received a large cut, forcing him to go get stitches.

William walked through the hall, his eyes glued to the floor as he carried a few text books though the empty hall.

The first hour came and gone, with the many snickering at his last name. He spent his prep period listening to his ipod. He would never admit it to another living soul, but he loved Lady Gaga. But the good mood the up beat dance songs had on him only lasted to his last hour. When he started class by introducing his name.
A tall dark haired boy in the back of the class shouted out "Claus! Like Santa Claus! HO HO HO! Mr. Claus." The class burst into laughter.
Adam gave the boy a cold look. "If that is what you wish. " he glanced at his class list "What is your name?" he asked him.
"Daniel Rectus." He responded shorty.
"Rectus huh? Well, did you know that your name comes from a Latin word meaning to make straight. We get our words rectum, and erection from it."
The laughter for Adam's name was nothing for Daniel. It took Adam 10 minutes to get them quiet again. The rest of that hour Daniel glared at him, he already had a student who hated him.

The week past with nothing of real interest that happened. He started the lit class on Macbeth, and the Greek mythology had made it to Kronos being the supreme being. Daniel was proving to be the type of student he hated. He didn't listen, always talked, and was ALWAYS texting. If Adam ever got close enough to him when he was texting he was going to snatch the phone and toss it out the window.
On Friday Adam needed to make several copies for his Greek mythology class. He was dancing down the hallway, Poker Face blaring in his ears. when he ran into something soild. He yanked the headphones out of his ears as fast as he could. "I .. I am terribly sorry." He said. It was one of his students. A quiet one, he hadn't even bothered to learn his name yet. He began helping him pick up his books. "Why weren't you in first hour today?"

Williams cheeks grew slightly red as he stumbled back. "No," he said quietly, "I wasn't watching where I was going." He took his books from the teacher, "Thank you." And took a small step back. He wasn't one for having a small personal space. "Um, Nathen and I got into a car wreck this morning and we had to deal with paper work and stuff. He should be here later today, he got cut up fairly bad." It was easy to tell that the boy was very upset about this, and even easier to tell how close he was to the other boy.

Adam handed him Macbeth. "Is Nathen your boyfriend?" He pretty much assumed the boys were gay. They wore tight shirts and pants. They also were extremely. close to one another, which was a little suspicious.

William's eyes widened, "N-no." He stuttered, taken back by the question. "He's my best friend, more like a brother than a...." He felt awkward saying it, especially since he knew humans were not always as open to people that like the same gender as themselves. "He's just a friend." In all honesty he didn't see Nathen in that way at all, and he knew that Nathen felt the same. "Um..." His eyes were now back on the floor, feeling embarrassed, "I should probably go to class now..." He took another glance at the teacher before beginning to walk away.

Adam shurged and went back down the hall and into his classroom with a stack of papers in his hands. The day seemed to drag on slowly until the last hour hit. Apparently a nerd had recieved a super wegie in the hallway and everyone would not shut up about it. He had a deep suspicion that the culprit was David.
And he wasn't stoping with the nerd in the hallway either. David went right up to that really quiet kid. William, Adam learned that hour when he took atendance. "So your a fag right? You have to be. your "best friend" is a guy and you wear the tightest pants I have ever seen."
The rest of the class snickered. They were all on David's side, except one girl in the back, but she was just avoiding the attention from being drawn to her. Adam figured she didn't like people very much.
"Return to your seat David." Adam said nutrally, he didn't like to get into children's sqwables.
However, David kept at it. "Your also a super loser I mean look at how many books you brought to the last hour of the day. Who does that? Here let me lighten your load." David knocked all of William's books off his desk.
Adam went up to the larger boy and began to drag him by his coller, to a lonely desk in the front of the room, where he could talk to no one. "Stay" he said passively as he pushed him into the chair and walked back up to his pulpit. "Alright students turn to page 52. There is an excellent picture of Kronos devoering one of his stude-children. It was painted in the Rennisance."

William sunk down in his seat, all he wanted right now was Nathen. He couldn't help but be worried at the moment because he should have been here by now. The hour seemed to have dragged on, his friend still absent.

FInally the bell rang. As the class emptied, William looked around franticly, looking for his freind. It was a few minutes before he realised that he probably leave. Quickly he grabbed his books and began the long journey home.

Adam tidied up his classroom as William stalled to get out of his room. Nathen always came and got him, but today he didn't. Adam assumed the hospital visit was taking a while to get sorted out. They always did. He was able to leave just shortly after William left.
As he pulled out of the parking lot he saw William walking by himself down the sidewalk. Adam couldn't help but be worried. The kid was new to the city. He pulled up next to him, and got out of his car.
"William? Do you have a ride home?" he asked calmly, trying not to upset him, more than he probably was.

William's eyes had been glued to the side walk, at least until he head a voice. He jumped slightly, startled to hear someone speaking to him. "Um...no. Nathen is..." He took a step back, feeling uncomfortable with out his friend around. "I'm just going to walk, it's not too far." That was a lie of course, but it's not as if he hadn't walked longer distances. The only thing that was bothering him was that it would take longer to see Nathen and figure out what was going on. "It's fine."

As soon as the words left his mouth he felt a hard shove from behind, followed a voice, "Homo". He fell against Adam but quickly regained himself and looked behind him. Of course it had been David.

"I need to go." William mumbled before he situated his backpack once more and took off down the street. He hadn't understood until now how different things were with out his friend by his side

Adam felt bad for the kid. So far he had no friends other than Nathen and he was alone to be bullied. He patted him on the head. "Come on. We can get a milkshake too if you want. On me." He steadied the boy so he wasn't leaning on him anymore. "Whatdayah say?" He opened his passenger car door. Then he relised his Lady Gaga cd was laying on the seat. Dispite himself he blushed, and he reached for the cd and tossed it under the seat.

William looked around, as if looking for a sign as to what to do. After a moment he nodded and entered the car. "Ok, but I don't need a milkshake," Not that he knew exactly what that was, "I just want to hurry home."

He felt uncomfortable though the ride, never having been in a car that wasn't Nathen's. He realised that an adress would be nessecary, he also realised that his would not suffice. Quickly he though of the closest house he could. "The adress is 304 Dargon lane," He said quietly, hoping his teacher didn't know he was lying. "And thank you."

"No problem" Adam replied. He drove down the quiet lane. The drive had easily been 20 minutes. "It would have taken you forever to walk this distance. You know you can awlways ask me for a ride. My life revolves around you kids, you know. It's a part of being a teacher. Were all ready to help out." He kept his eyes one the road. It was very true. Teachers lifes revolved around thier students.

William nodded as the car came to a stop. His eyes widened when he saw a gray cat waiting for him. "Hey it's Na..." He paused as he realized this man wasn't supposed to know, "Um...Nathen's cat. Whiskers." He got out quickly and picked up the cat, holding it close. "Thank you for the ride Mr,Claus, I really do apreciate it." He was hoping that Adam would leave fast so he could go to his actual house.

Adam's eyes widdened at the sight of the cat. He was terrified of the creatures. He speed of as fast as he could, not even waiting to see if the kid got into his house. His heart was still racing as he pulled into his driveway. Probablly because one of the creatures occupied his very home.

The next few weeks were beyond normal, William and Nathen joined at the hip. Every thing was fine until William started feeling sick. Nathen, of course, stayed by his side, sleeping as a cat so he could easily be in Williams bed, curled up beside him. They had missed almost 2 weeks now, and William still wasn't getting better. He was pale and weak, rarely waking up for more than an hour.

It was now about 10 at night, Nathen was standing beside him, watching his best friend. It was a few minutes before he turned into a cat and joined William for that nights sleep.

Adam was worried. He had a tendancy to not give a damn about his students, however, when Nathen and William missed thier 2nd week of school he was getting worried. He convinced himself to go to thier house and deliver thier work for them, and to find out what had happened to the boys. He quickly printed off the adress from the school for a reference, in case he got lost.
He drove to the place where he had dropped off the boy that one day. He went and knocked on the door. A large black women with overwhelmimg breasts answered the door. Adam was unmistakably suprised. "Is ... um ... Do Nathen and William live.... here?" He tried to pear around the woman but it was impossible.
"No honney they sure don't, but why don yall come in for some sweet louisiana gumbo." She smiled revealing three teeth.
"Um no thats alright." He began to back away slowly. "Thank you though."
"Anytime honney"
Adam walked back to his car and checked the adress, they didn't match. He began to walk down the lane to where the house was suposed to be. However all he saw was a flowry mailbox, with the adress on it. He began to walk into the woods to find the house. Suddenly, it was there. Right in front of eyes. He blinked. "That's odd." he mumbled to himself.
He began to walk up to the house, but then he saw an ant. This ant was a big as a st. bernard. Adam screamed. He ran up to the door and began banging on the door, hoping the occupunts would open the door quickly and save hin from the killer ant.

Nathen awoke with a growl to the beating on his door and transformed before walking to the door. He opened the door, suprized to see his teacher. He ran a gloved hand through his hair with a sigh. The two boys always wore fingerless black gloves, so it was odd for the sick William to be with out them.

"Mr. Claus..." He paused, not sure how to deal with this, "Can I help you?" He step aside, allowing the teacher in. He had to figure out how to keep this man quiet about what he has now laid eyes on. It was easy to tell that the boy was tired from the dark circles that laid beneath his eyes, of course this was from watching WIlliam so closely.

WHY IS THERE A GIANT ANT OUTSIDE YOUR DOORSTEP?!?!? Was excatly what Adam was thinking. However, for a moment, all he could do was stand there and gap like a fish. Then he snapped himsef back into reality. "Nathen, I have yours and Williams schoolwork." Adam proceeed to hand the stack of papers to the younger man.
Adam then went to the front door and opened it to see a giant bettle attacking the giant ant, and failing miserably, because the ant was calling together reinforcements. Adam shut the door, quietly, and turned back to Nathen.
"If you would be so kind. Would you explain to me why the insects have grown larger? If you do not inform me, than I would like to see you and William both to get you caught up. I wish to try and keep you with the class as much as possible."
