We Are Different

A bunch of kids and teens have in-human things about them [ex Wings, tails, extra body parents, super fast legs, etc] and they are all sent away by the government to a village where it will be just them living. The village is on a tropical island in the middle of no where. Before you arrived the governments spend some money and built two huts so that boys and girls had seperate places to sleep and they also provided you with an extra outfit for each person. You will be living off of the land and your powers. You will have to use their differences to help them all survive but keep in mind that they all grew up in different places so even though they are all strange in normal people's eyes some of you might be strange in your new "friends" eyes.

-Romance is encouraged, keep it at a normal PG-13 level
-Send me a paragraph on how you would play your character unless I tell you that I think you can do it without one.

Personality: Friendly and outgoing. She acts normal and just wants friends and to fit in since that is something that she never got at home or in her old life. Carlie likes to tan on the beach and act like a normal teenager. She brought one book, Twilight. She has a low tolerance level for fighting and just likes peace and quiet.
Biography: Carlie grew up in London, England. Her parents didn't like her because at such a young age she was able to do things that weren't ordinary. Her skin would change differnt color with her mood. Carlie was never sure what every single one meant but she knows that red means angry, blue means tired, orange means happy and invisible means depressed or sad.

Name: Christina Petrovic

Age: 15

Appearence: Christina stands at about 5'5". She has pale skin, and dark brown hair which reaches her shoulders, which she usually leaves loose. Her eyes are a light grey, and she doesn't smile a lot.

Personality: Christina is shy, and very reserved, which stems from her being ignored by ehr family because of her abnormality. She doesn't talk to a lot of people, unless forced, although she has a short temper, and is very quick with her fists. Once she opens up to you, though, she's usually a nice person, if slightly socially awkward.

Biography: Christina was born in Russia, with strange marks on her shoulder blades. Everyone assumed they were birthmarks, but as she got older, something that was originally thought to be a tumor sprouted from them, and eventually developed into wings, which she can pull in to look normal, although she can't do it for long. She was shunned by her family and friends, causing her to become reserved, and was eventually shipped off the village because of this,

What is strange about you: The wings that sprout from her shoulder blades, which are black. She'd had to cut slits in all her clothes so she can let them out, because she gets problems with them and her back if she keeps them folded in for too long.

Name: Jolie [Joe-lee] Mallay

Appearence:

Personality: Jolie can be selfish and a bit stuck up but she never makes fun of anyone or looks down on them because she knows how it feels, since her stepmom did it to her. She will usually try to freeze people when they anger her but she rarely does and when she does she usually stops her self half way through. She has a short temper but is fairly nice and tries to get along with everyone, although that doesn't usually work out.
Biography: Jolie grew up in a rich area of Paris, France with her father and stepmother. Her father was a laid back guy after Jolie's real mother died. He married her stepmother when Jolie turned 6 but a few months after they got married her father joined the French army after being persuaded by his wife, Jolie's stepmom. He died a year later and that was when Jolie's stepmom started showing her hate toward her. She constantly made fun of her and looked down on her because of her power. When Jolie turned 12 her stepmother sent her away where she was later turned in to the government for having these unusual things about her.
What is strange about you: Ever since Jolie was 4 her palms were ice cold and as white as snow. When she turned 7 she was able to put her hands in fire without it burning her and when she was 9 she was able to put fires out by touching. When she turned 13, which was only a few weeks ago, she began being able to cover objects in ice. She is still practicing with this since she isn't quite good at it yet.

Name: Jason Brown

Age[9-25]: 17

Appearance: Tiny for a guy, he's only 5"5' and very skinny. He has shoulder length, very straight and light brown hair that usually obscures his face. Always seen with his aviator sunglasses he hates the sun. His eye's are completely white with no noticeable pupils and he has average tanish skintone.

Personality: Usually quiet but always one to crack a joke. He's not very shy, quite the opposite actually as he tries to make friends with strangers all the time.

Biography: Born with strange eye's doctors thought this to be a birth defect but soon found out it did not inhibit his sight at all but rather greatly improved it under certain conditions, such as a lack of light. He was raised in an orphanage so not many people took notice of his strange appearance until an inspector came. He was promptly shipped away to the island.

What is strange about you: His eyes are very light sensitive causing him extreme pain in the sunlight. Thus he usually only takes off his sunglasses at night so that he can see with his glowing white eyes.

Name: Nathaniel Flint
Age: 19
Appearance: Short, with long, flaming red hair, tied back in a ponytail most of the time. Tan skin, and bright green almond shaped eyes that slope in toward the nose, which is pointed.
Personality: At first encounter, Nat seems to be a person who needs no motivation to be kind, accepting, and fair-tempered. He loves being popular, and knowing everything about everybody. Upon closer examination, one would realize a lower nature to Nat that rules his mind. He enjoys seeing people in pain, and often betrays people, just out of curiosity of their reaction. He treats people like things, objects to be studied, with little respect for their feelings.
Biography: Nathaniel was bullied for his small size in elementary school. He tried to fight back, but, being little, he really couldn't. His teachers and other adults told him the usual shtick; just use words. And that he did. He simply told said bully to leave him alone, and it usually worked astonishingly well. He also realized that teachers never quite gave him the hairy eyeball when he made up excuses for unfinished homework on the spot in middle school. In high school, he became attracted to girls, and, through means he never really realized were anything supernatural, they became attracted to him.
What is strange about you: Nathaniel is a hypnotizer, much like Obe One Kanobi, saying "these aren't the droids you're looking for. He can go about his business. Move along," and having the storm troopers do what he said. More like the power of suggestion than hypnotizing. If someone is enough of an airhead, he can do something more like hypnosis, but, as I said, they'd either have to be really thick, or have their guard WAY down.

Name: Her parents called her Catalina, but she introduces herself as Ratty.

Age[9-25]: 10, but she looks more like 14-15

Appearence: Ratty is a fairly slight girl, but is remarkably developed mentally and physically for her age. Her teeth are prominent, coloured yellowish, and shaped like a rodent's. She has a thin coat of brown fur all over, except the palms of her hands and the soles of her feet, which is very fine on her face, and slightly longer and thicker where a normal person's hair would be. Her facial features seem non-descript, and shift slightly, so that she is never the same twice. Her eyes are black right the way across, like an animal's eyes.

Personality: She can be hot-tempered, which she finds secretly amusing as part of the pun that her name is. She has a great affinity for animals, especially rodents, but still has a yearning to find friends. She can be rather closed to other people, and is ashamed of needing their company.

Biography: She was born normal, but soon discovered her abilities. Her parents reviled her for it, calling her a little animal and keeping her away from the world. She accepted this mantle of animal with glee, finding all sorts of ways to try and fit the description. By the time she was old enough to go to school, she had learned to keep it secret, but her uncivilised ways made her something of a social outcast. When the officials came to take her away, she rejected her old life, complete with the name her parents gave her, choosing a new one, and a new appearance for her new life.

What is strange about you: Ratty possesses an ability to shapeshift, although it is not particularly strong. Simple manipulations such as hair, teeth, and minor modifications to her facial structure are easy for her, but more complex changes to her body structure, whilst possible, would be very tiring and probably quite dangerous to her. Her most treasured possession, which she smuggled to the island with her, is a book of anatomy of various mammals, which she studies in detail to allow her to shift accurately. The act of changing herself takes energy, but she doesn't need to maintain it, it stays by itself. She can't remember what she originally looked like, and doesn't care.

Personality: Noelle has a mature mind and high intelligence. She likes reading and writing while normal kids her age would rather be out playing. Noelle is very smart and she knows it, loving to show it off. She often argues to try to make herself be right everytime each though she knows that she isn't always right. Her power is amazing eyesight, being able to zoom in and out.

Biography: Noelle grew up in Southern California with her mom and dad. They understood about Noelle's differences and didn't mind it but when Noelle was seven both of her parents were killed in a car crash and she was given to her rude Aunt and Uncle. They didn't want her, of course and shunned her because of the differences in her eyes. Eventually they told the government and they came and took Noelle.

What is strange about you: Noelle has amazing eyesight. When she was younger she had horrible eyesight and never had this power. She got glasses which she still wears today that help her with her power. She is able to zoom in and out by tapping on the glass of her glasses. Her eyes change color at her moods and are very sensitive.

Age[9-25]: 25
Appearence:
Personality: Jason is a hot tempered and what always seems like angry guy. He is angry about his past and will act as if it were the others fault that he ended up on this island. He often goes straight to violence without adressing the problem and sometimes there is no problem, he likes starting fights.
Biography: Jason grew up with his parents in New York City normally for 11 years. When he turned 12 they started to see that he was able to be in one place at one second and then the next he would be in a totally different area. They also noticed that any sort of cold water would make burn like cuts on him. They ignored it at first but once he started to be able to move to totally different locations, they got worried. They started sending him to a private school when he turned 15 but he was kicked out of it for "abnormal behaviors". He then started to get private tutoring and wasn't allowed out of the house which made him agrier so he would do it even more. This made his parents turn him in the authority and he has been in the governments hands since he was 17.
What is strange about you: Jason can teleport to different places as long as there is no water surrounding it. If he touches any type of water that isn't boiling, he will get large burns.
