Andrei looked at the newly installed Holo-Display of the battlesfield. There was a squadron of 10 fighters incoming. ::We've got more, Delta Flight, break off course and intercept hostiles at 774.2 Mark 555.35:: He said into the Shortwave Com-Sat channel, which was the only one is use now.

So far the fighters and Railguns had brought down anything that dared to come within a kilometer of the ship, and the one warrior that managed to jettison from his fighter met quite a gruesome fate via t he marines stationed on broad.

Over most of Western Russia, the AI controlled Soviet Automated Defense Force had been deployed, and many of the bugs that landed met their fate under the metal fist of the Red Army. These metal creatures came as quite a shock to the bugs, when their Viral weapons had no effect, and the nasty targeting and sensory abilities of the Soviet Combat drones made stealth tactics almost moot. (You wank, I wank my forces)

(the railguns still don't work cos of the field given off by the mother ship as it stops all power sources, what viral weapons?)

(normal guns don't have power sources, anything fired with kinetic energy can still be used)

Andrei looked at the newly installed Holo-Display of the battlefield. There was a squadron of 10 alien fighters incoming. We hit the intercom switch, and switched to the fighter band.
::We've got more, Delta Flight, break off course and intercept hostiles at 774.2 Mark 555.35::, He said into the Shortwave Com-Sat channel, which was the only one is use now, due to the alien signal jamming.
::Moving to intercept, ETA 3 minutes:: Replied the Wing Commander.

The Radar showed that the squadron was approaching the intercept point, In 30 seconds, the alien fighters would be up against the best of Terran fighter tech. Over the Com-Sat channel, Andrei could hear everything that was going on between the pilots.
::10 Seconds to intercept, all weapons are free fire:: Radioed the Wing Commander
::Copy that, railguns online:: Radioed back on of the pilots.
The squadron leveled off behind the alien fighters.
::Bugs didn't even see us coming, all weapons are free fire::
The Sy-47 assault fighters leveled behind the squad of alien fighters, and unleashed the full brunt of their 15mm Railguns and ATA missiles on the bugs.

The Back 3 fighters take the brunt of the missiles and the front two get taken out by the railguns while the rest take minor damage and swerve in loops opening fire onto the squadrons.

As the alien fighters fired at the Soviet Interceptors, half the formation broke off in an up upward looping motion.
::5 hostiles down, break formation, 1-3, break off, 4-6, Alpha 14:: radioed the Wing Commander
The other 3 fighters swerved off to the sides and on top of the of the aliens, all 3 going into an intense turn, so that in the space of 40 seconds, they had appeared behind the remaining alien fighters.
::Radar paints reacquired, ATA's away::
Another hail of Railgun and ATA rockets hit the alien fighters, and the 3 fighters that had broken formation at the beginning swooped down in front and slightly above of the the aliens, raining more 15mm Railgun fire on them with their 180 angle of fire turrets.
But not all was without damage, as Number two had been damaged in the frontal assault, and went up in a literal blaze of glory, Launching his last two ATA rockets at the last minute.

Andrei nervously glanced at the Holo-display, and then... "They did it! Those buggers may have ships in orbit, but we have our might aircraft!" he shouted to no one in particular, a wave of pride and glee washing over him.
