Beauties and The Beasts

Once upon a time, in a faraway land, a Royal Family lived in a shining castle. Although they had everything their hearts desired, they were spoiled, selfish, and unkind. But then, one winter's night, an old beggar-woman came to the castle and offered The King a single rose in return for shelter from the bitter cold. Repulsed by her haggard appearance, the King sneered at the gift and The Family turned the old woman away. But she warned them not to be deceived by appearances, for beauty is found within. And when they dismissed her again, the old woman's ugliness melted away to reveal a beautiful Enchantress. The King tried to apologize for himself and his family, but it was too late, for she had seen that there was no love in their hearts; and as punishment, she transformed them into Beasts. Ashamed of their monstrous forms, the Beasts concealed themselves inside their castle, with a magic mirror as their only window to the outside world. The rose she had offered was truly an enchanted rose, which would bloom after five years. If they could learn to love another, and earn her/his love in return by the time the last petal fell, then the spell would be broken. If not, they would be doomed to remain beasts for all time. As the years passed, the family fell into despair and lost all hope. For who could ever learn to love a Beast?

Tale as old as time...

So this is pretty much the same thing as beauty and the beast only with a twist to it. The entire family is cursed to take the form of beast-like animals unless they can fall truly in love and be loved in return. It is the final year and they only have 3 months left to break the curse. Meanwhile the kingdom has fallen into a dark age and the neighboring kingdom threatens to start a war...

this is a rather large family because i want a lot of people to join. There are three princesses and three princes and all of them are beasts. Obviously i need people to take on those roles before i can even start the rp. I also need the "Belles" or people that fall in love with the beasts... so i will need 6 more people for that. If i have trouble getting even numbers here, i may reduce the family to only two princess and two princes. Just gotta see what happens

The King and Queen are deceased, the Queen died when the children were at a very young age and the King recently committed suicide. The Oldest son is now supposed to take up responsibility and become the new king...

Bio: When she was younger her she began earning money from pickpocketing, this was to help provide for her family. Her father is crippled and her mother has no choice but to care for him. So that leaves all the money making to Aeryn. Quickly, she became very skilled in her "business" and became well known amongst other bandits. Soon enough, she had her own gang that followed her command.
Personality: She is incredibly stubborn and spirited. Her pride often gets in the way when she's angry... causing her to make rash decisions, despite this though she is normally very level headed and a very good leader. She has a great sense of humor and is known for her pranks. She hates being made feel like she HAS to do something, following the law is a good example... Aeryn is a big softy under her hard exterior, she loves children and wishes she had a younger brother or sister. She's also a hopeless romantic, but she has a hard time trusting people. But once she trusts you, she's yours forever and will remain faithful and true.

Bio: Daniel grew up rather reserved, his mother's shadow and not very close to his father. He had a dislike for all of the politics and violence that came with his father's position as King, and dreaded the day that he might be obligated to take the throne.
He was a somewhat feeble boy, and didn't hit his growth spurt until he was about 15 years old. Even then, he was slender, but toned from the required training he did to "educate himself in the arts of war", in his father's words.
When his mother died, a wave of depression hit him, for she was the one he went to for anything, the one who seemed to love him the most. She was his security.
Now, having been transformed into this beast, he spends his time hiding away in his quarters, only occasionally coming out. He considers himself the most hideous creature he could ever possibly be, and dislikes the stares he gets from servants and others.
Personality: Daniel is introverted, a hopeless romantic, quiet, and easily aggravated. He enjoys being alone, but sometimes craves company. Ever since he was transformed, though, he has spent less and less time with his family, let alone anyone.

Personality: She is outgoing most of all. She never backs down from the townspeople and their cruel words. For being mildly poor, she is quite picky on her taste in things, including men.

she stands a about 5'5. Her eyes shine a nice shade of green that matches the grass in spring. Her hair is long and wavy, a dark shade of drown that could be mistaken for black. She makes her own clothes, making them still dressy but more vibrant against black, something the town seems to frown upon.

Facing the threat of war Jean feels as if his Beast form shall come in handy.
Personality: Once Proud of his skill with a blade he is now somewhat humbled but the Pride of a Swordsman never completely dies out. Has recently become more withdrawn and thoughtful

Bio: As long she can remember, Ravelin was taught the art of battle. Even though she was a princess. Her father would always say, "It's best to rely on your own power than in others. Your people will have more faith in you once you that the crown if they know they can rely on your power alone." Then her mother always added, "It's good to be strong in strength and will, but keep in mind it's better to have a strong mind and a good heart as well." So, she had structured her life on her parents' principles.

But as time passes, things change. When she turned 16, Ravelin's mother had fallen ill of a sickness that couldn't be cured. She remembered that her father would lock himself and his scholars in the library, trying to fin what wasn't there. As her mother grew worst, her father slowly became a shell of his former self. Once her mother passed away, Ravelin could recognize her father as the strong, proud warrior he once was.

Years had passed since her mother's death, Ravelin's father put her in charge of most of the his duties.
Personality: I guess you can say she's a tom-boy princess. She would gladly enter any battle as long as her katana was at her side. Ravelin can be a bit short-tempered and a loud mouth, but she makes up for it with her tactics in battle and her pure heart.

Bio: Valkyrie was never much of the fighter but to please her father she took up archery. More often then not, She was found in library reading anything and everything she could get her hands on. Since the transformation, she has spent all her waking hours with one sibling or another, doing her best to be there for them. There is nothing that she has ever wanted more in her life then to fall in love but her hopes are dwindling and it seems that family is all she will have in her life.
Personality: Valkyrie is a gentle girl with a love for knowledge. She is talkative around her family openly sharing her knowledge with the ones she holds dear. However, she has a tendency to draw herself into her thoughts and become unusually silent recently. While not as easily angered as most of her family, she still holds quite a temper.

Other: Valkyries most cherished trinket is the small purple gem that she used to wear upon her forehead. She cannot seem to remember who gave it to her except that it was a sibling.

Bio:
As the third son of a minor noble, young Richard was groomed from an early age for knighthood, as is customary for all in his position. He took to it with abandon, gaining proficiency in both sword and mace. Soon after he was fully knighted at age 21, Richard found himself in the army of Lord Friarson. The General was well known for his hot temper, but like all those around him, Richard was excited by the prospect of victory in battle, and under the General's leadership they achieved many glorious victories.

Now at last they are about to advance on the territory of their enemy and neighbour. He has his eyes set on honour and glory, and longs to return home victorious and assured of a generous reward from the King for all the knights who serve their kingdom faithfully.

Personality: Richard holds to the knightly ideals of chivalry and honour. He is also fiercely patriotic and is determined to do his utmost in this upcoming war with the neighbouring kingdom.

Other: Richard feels ambivalent about Lord Friarson. On the one hand, he idolises the man for his brilliant tactics and prowess in battle. On the other, he's learned firsthand the brutality of the General's temper and does his best to stay out of his direct line of fire.

Bio: A young man who grew up in the village by the castle. He became a servant in the royal household, but never rose above the rank of scullery drudge due to his chronic clumsiness and habits of day-dreaming. He enjoyed watching the royal family from afar until they became cursed. Like most of the servants, he fled, but returned after finding nothing in the lands around the kingdom. He serves them faithfully, but tries not to be anywhere near the princes or princesses at all times due to his fear of animals and uncertainty of how to act around royals. Due to the lack of other servants in the castle, Errol received something of a promotion, and thus does most of the jobs around the castle.

Personality: Amiable and hardworking, but a fish out of water when in conversations with royalty or anyone far above his social class. He has no idea how to speak to them, or address them or act, and generally ends up making a fool of himself. He doesn’t like animals very much, and is deathly afraid of anything larger than a dog. He is a bit of a space cadet. This aside, Errol is very clever and can even read and write. He tends to explode if someone alludes to him as stupid. He also hates being treated as inferior, but knows that there isn’t much he can do about it. After years spent in the castle with the cursed family, he is fiercely defensive of them, despite the fact that being in the same room as any one of them will send him into a panic.

Other: He enjoys sneaking books out of the library and reading them by candlelight. He has worked halfway through the library already and remembers most of what he reads. Errol also knows the castle inside and out, especially the hidden "secret" passages.

Bio: He was once considered handsome; his appearance was warped as the curse began to draw from his personality and change his appearance accordingly. He was a monster, a sight very few would consider desirable to behold. As time went by, he had a hard time accepting the truth that one day he may never be able to revert into his human form again. He became violent, quick to anger but very rarely enjoyed being by himself while he does enjoy being with other people he is familar with. His form is often thought to come from his flirty attitude and simply twisted him into a form where beauty can never be applied.
Personality: Short-tempered and energetic, showing he will be quick to pounce if his temper gets out of hand. The reason he became such a monster compared to the others was because of his selfishness and anger, most of which he would blame on his father. When he was human, he often displayed signs of being overly coquettish towards females. He sometimes had a habit of showing how needy and childish he is, often through conversation with others in his family; more often than nought, he simply does this to show he's not as horrible as he looks.

Other: When he was young, he had a strange passion for climbing trees; this has carried on into his adult years. He often wished he was the eldest to take the throne, simply to spite the spirit of his father and show he could do better if he tried.

Personality: Eloine is a rather loud and obnoxious person, well she used to be. She was always very spirited and loved finding new ways to get herself in trouble. She's very curious and finds it hard to sit still for a long period of time. Her dream is to travel and wander around the world... but she is unable to do that. Honestly she has no desire to have a love. the only reason she would is so that she can be human again. But it seems like that's not going to happen.

Bio: Vincent was bought as a slave, because his family was too poor to keep him. At first he was bought to be a servant, that change after he met Ravelin when he was 16. The guards were always saying that she was just, or even better, than any solider when it came to combat.

Feeling indirectly looked down on by his Lady, Vincent actually challeged her to a sword fight. He used a large broad sword, which he could hardly pick up, and Ravelin chosed her katanas. Their "fight" only lasted a few seconds once it started, with Ravelin as the winner.

Seeing talent in him as a warrior, Ravelin talked to her father to see if Vincent could be a squire. Thinking it over, the king said yes, and Vicent became a squire, who 4 years later became a knight.

Actually the princesses are beasts as well. Its a family of 3 daughters and 3 sons. i want a lot of people to join.... so yeah if you want to be someone who falls in love with a prince then you can be a princess from another country or you can be a commoner or whatever, its up to you. ^_^

Position Her father owns a tavern which she works in as a bar maiden.
Age: 19
Weapons (if any): She doesn't carry it around but as a peasant Lily does know how to use a bow quite fluidly. She isn't the greatest to grace the earth but for a girl she isn't bad.
Bio: Lily's mother died shortly after naming her as such she grew up without one. She had a couple of Aunts though that lived with her father so she never needed any womanly company. Instead she was quite lavished with love. Her father taught her how to hunt though she was never very good and her Aunt's taught her how to sing. As such she can't cook to save her life.
Personality: Lily is an open minded person who loves to discover knew things. An optimist her cup is always 4/5 full there is not half full for her. Lily isn't a naive girl but instead as a few trust issues from being told never to trust a stranger.
Appearance:

Other: Lily is fairly good at singing though she isn't very confident about it. She is also very claustrophobic and a tiny bit afraid of the dark or rather, what's in it that she can't see.

Weapons (if any): three katanas (it's a long thin swords which originated from Japan. If you didn't know.)

Bio: As long she can remember, Ravelin was taught the art of battle. Even though she was a princess. Her father would always say, "It's best to rely on your own power than in others. Your people will have more faith in you once you that the crown if they know they can rely on your power alone." Then her mother always added, "It's good to be strong in strength and will, but keep in mind it's better to have a strong mind and a good heart as well." So, she had structured her life on her parents' principles.

But as time passes, things change. When she turned 16, Ravelin's mother had fallen ill of a sickness that couldn't be cured. She remembered that her father would lock himself and his scholars in the library, trying to find what wasn't there. As her mother grew worst, her father slowly became a shell of his former self. Once her mother passed away, Ravelin could recognize her father as the strong, proud warrior he once was.

Years had passed since her mother's death, Ravelin's father put her in charge of most of the his duties.
Personality: I guess you can say she's a tom-boy princess. She would gladly enter any battle as long as her katana was at her side. Ravelin can be a bit short-tempered and a loud mouth, but she makes up for it with her tactics in battle and her pure heart.

Other: The red gems that she wears on her, belonged to her mother.
