Boss Battle

Tips: 0.00 INK Postby Comrade 47 on Wed Aug 26, 2009 8:36 pm

Okay, for those of you who know Metal Gear Solid, the series had some of the most original boss battles in video game history. Fighting Psycho Mantis, Fatman, The End, Vamp. Who can look be in the eye and say those weren't amazing boss battles? And dammit, I want more!

So here's my idea for a RP: we create characters similar to beloved MGS boss characters. We then send either similar characters or squads of elite soldiers to defeat them.

Character Skeleton

I could squash you like a bug right now, but I'm offering you a choice. Join me! Imagine what we could accomplish together... what we could create. Or what we could destroy! Cause the deaths of countless innocents in selfish battle again and again and again until we're both dead? Is that what you want?

Okay, I'll try one.

Real Name: Sergei Bondarchuk
Codename: Red-Gecko
Organization: USSR (Union of Soviet Socialist Republics)
Gender: Male
Nationality: Russian
Appearance: Sergei wears a OctoCamo suit so it is rare that you ever see him, however, when the suit is deactivated he appears to be wearing a red sneaking-suit.
Biography:
Ability: Able to climb walls and other surfaces due to the grips on the palms of his suit.
Equipment:
OctoCamo: OctoCamo is a form of smart camouflage that can, within moments of coming into contact with almost anything, replicate both the pattern and texturing of the touched object. Preset patterns and textures can both be loaded and saved to memory for later use. It applies thermal technology to regulate the temperature of the suit to better blend with what the suit is mimicking, allowing the user to stay as hidden as possible even under thermal imaging (As the suit does not Cover the head, Some other form of concealment must be found to disguise the head). A muscle suit is also built in, increasing the physical strength of the user somewhat. It was inspired by the mimicking abilities of the octopus, hence the name.

MK. 17: An elegant and powerful weapon developed for special forces. The Mk17 SCAR is used by PMCs across the world. This highly versatile rifle holds 20 rounds in a magazine and boasts high stopping power.

He mean's, who is supposed to be the 'hero' or the protagonist. The guy you should root for.

The best example I can think of is the Fatman fight: who's trying to blast the rig? Who's trying to stop him?

Real Name: Jan Strauss.
Codename: The Blonde B@stard of Berlin/Blonde Devil.
Organization: Eisenkindereinheit (German for 'Iron Children Unit'.)
Good/Evil: Both, the situation depends. He's managed by the German government wants.
Gender: Male.
Nationality: German.
Appearance: http://pok82.deviantart.com/art/Best-of-07-Toy-Soldier-73499484 ~ Changes the clothes as needed.
Biography: (I will develop this in-story if needed.)
Ability: A better combatant than some people twice his age...and even size.

Equipment:
Changes it as needed for an operation but he always carries a wicked bowie knife that is a little over a foot long...and that's just the blade. He also carries a kukri.

Real Name: Ivan Petrov
Codename: Benedict
Organization: Freelance
Good/Evil: Evil
Gender: Male
Nationality: Russian-Arab
Biography: Petrov served in the Russian military as a young man during the Soviet-Afghanistan war. Fed up with the countless deaths on both sides, he defected to the Afghan Mujaheddin, convinced he could help them end the war in less time and with fewer loses. Petrov used his knowledge and experience with the Russian army to lead surprise attacks against Soviet insulation and bases. He was often called 'The Soviet Benedict Arnold' by now-enemy Russian commanders, and he adopted the slur as his codename. After the war ended, he ended up working with the numerous terrorist organizations that sprung up from the remnants of the Mujaheddin.
Ability: Brilliant tactician, peak physical shape, weapons and explosives expert, master of guerrilla warfare.
Equipment: RPD machine gun, F1 grenades, the very environment around him
Appearance:
Image

Also, something that might be cool to write would be sort of a setup to whatever scenario you have planned. For example: "The President has been kidnapped? Are you a bad enough dude to rescue him?" Ideally, that would be longer, but really don't know what to do, so I'll see what you guys come up with.

He is awesome.

Anyways, what will be the overall story?
I'm hoping for something similar to Metal Gear Solid without being exactly like it.
I want some good, long, conspiracy filled missions with a dose of awesome.
We are mercenaries, correct?

Mercenaries, terrorists, rogue military, freelancers, anarchists, whatever will make the awesomest story.

Okay, if nobody likes this one, you can suggest something better:

"Ex-Soviet Colonel Ivan Petrov, better known as Benedict, has seized the Farkhor Air Base in Tajikistan. Benedict and his men struck as the base was unveiling the нападение Neutron Missile to the public. Many Tajikistan, Indian, and Russian dignitaries were on site to witness the public display of the most powerful nuclear weapon in Indian hands. Colonel Benedict's men attacked the base, killed the soldiers, and took the dignitaries hostage. Benedict has already begun loading the neutron warhead for extraction. Only one man can stop him..."

I guess that one man would either be Bondarchuk or Strauss. Or both.

Well, Strauss could help.

Maybe Petrov has a deal with the German government to give them the bomb and work as wet-works.

A) Bondarchuk versus Petrov
B) Bondarchuk and Strauss versus Petrov
C) Bondarchuk versus Strauss and Petrov
D) Bondarchuk versus Strauss versus Petrov

Personally, I think B, C, or D would be more interesting.
