Hundred years in the future, mankind has soared out into the vastness of cold space and settled upon new planets. Along our journey, we've found more then a dozen different sentient races, most culturally primitive to our own and only three being on equal terms. To those unlearned races, we came among them as gods and give forth our knowledge, gaining a massive reserve of people to serve in our armies or to labor in factories to produce arms and the vast richness in materials, all of which our leaders used to force the remain races to bow to our political whims. It was from this forced union, the Federal Republic was born.
Because of several revolts and attempted revolutions in its two hundred year history, the Federal Republic has forced all planetary governments to disband any standing armies and militias in favor of garrisons of Federal troops for protections from invaders or civil unrest. The bloated interplanetary ruling power has also forced all local authorities to diminish their police forces (owing mostly to a revolt on Milia V, where the “police” were anti-republic troops in different uniforms). This in turn has forced local authorities to pool all of their manpower into detective work, leaving streets unpatrolled, criminals unbusted and crime rates going through the roof.
And thus was a new industry was born in the middle of government paranoia, private police companies. In basic function, they serve as little more then incorporated bounty hunters, tracking down and capturing those deemed suspect by the true police forces left to the official planetary governments. The larger of the companies, started to be hired on, not only to collar bounties but also to patrol the streets, guard the prisons and courthouses, to free up as much of their police forces to investigate crimes.
So now, we travel to the planet of So-Tebo, added to the Republic fifty years ago, after a twenty year colonial period, were human and other races bought large tracks of land from the native bipedal reptilians. Three major cities arose from cleared jungles, the capital of New Laomsvesser, the main trade hub of Earthvale and the main manufacturing center of New Redford. The current parliament of the Commonwealth of So-Tebo is made up of seventy percent human representatives, twenty percent none-human and ten percent native Antilogers (as they call themselves).
Earthvale, a city of trade, rowdy sailors in port for a few days time, smuggling operations, crime syndicates and chaos hiding under a thin and transparent veil of order. Open clashes between the various shipping companies private guards spill into the streets, as they brawl about the warehouses, attempting to “acquire” new things for their paymasters.
A place of opportunity for bounty hunters. A newly licensed company, Gray Security, is now hiring officers. Too small and under-budgeted to steal veteran professionals, this new company is the perfect place for beginners to learn the trade and a place of refuge for those not-so professional to try again.
Extras
Alrighty folks, I am allowing none-humans in this game but I'm not going to expand on any save for the Antilogers. If you have a (new) race that you want to play as, please provide a at least a two paragraph description of the race and how it join the Republic. Please don't use races I might be able to pick out as being from an established sci-fi universe.
The Antilogers are a bipedal reptilians, standing at average four foot, six inches tall, with coloration ranging from dark green to brown. Two eyes of nearly all black are set above a small muzzle-like snout, which is lined with needle-like teeth. Their hands have three digits, set in a pattern resembling the points of a triangle, their feet, are unknown, as they are always covered. Little is know about their culture or if they dress, for they had retreated deep into the wilds and only send a a limited number of representatives, in human clothing. Once they learn Standard, they will never speak their native tongue in front of outsiders, not even the most roguish renegade will break that taboo.
Weapons: Humans and the other races are still using projectile weapons, in a range of styles and just what type of projectile they fire. The Federal Army however, does have a limited number of energy-based weapons, mostly crew served but it it rumored that much more portable system is in the testing stage.
Space travel is at this point, is practiced with ease, cheap and practical. However, ship-based weaponry is still crude.
The courts on So-Tebo are more then willing to pay the bounties for dead criminals, as for living prisoners. The dead ones cost less to process and don't tie up funds to feed and quarter.
The government also issues bounty hunting licenses to private citizens, such people are called bounty hunters, where company personal are called officers.

Name: Jason Mahoney
Age: 30
Race: human
Gender: male
Appearance: Jason is a decently muscled individual, no where near the mass of a bodybuilder but not a thin waif either. Standing at six and a half feet tall, with a strong, square jaw, he cuts a fine figure, if a few inches higher then he was five years ago. His skin reflects northern European heritage, with a nice tan from the sun that warms So-Tebo. His left arm and the lower three-fourths of his legs are bio-mechanical replacements (completely legal, civilian grade pieces of machinery that barely enhances his person), covered in his own living skin, which will bleed. Bright blue eyes stare around a small roman nose and from slightly sunken sockets, with bushy black eyebrows above. The rest of the hair on his head is trimmed into a crewcut, with a normally clean shaven face.
When not on duty, Jason prefers to wear synthetic fiber, blue pants, black sneakers, with a white undershirt and a loose, black, button up shirt. When on duty, he wears the standard uniform, of a gray jumpsuit, black boots and a gray beret, with black headband.
Weapons: the Kelch, ten shot taser carbine and the Kelch 12mm semi-automatic pistol
Years as a Hunter/Officer: eights years as a hunter, with the last three and a half being bed ridden in a hospital
Bio: Jason was born in Earthvale, the son of inventory managers working for the Whitfield Tech company. As he grew up, he got standard education from the city's public school system and as it happened, ended up as a hostage during an attempt by members of a Dirty Red gang to get several of their fellows out of jail. His career path was shown true, when a band of officers from the Pinkerton Protection Agency killed the lot of them. After he finished school, he applied for a bounty hunting license. After he received the thing, the young man started to pull in some bounties, mostly from taking in small time drug peddlers, with a cheap taser pistol.
Around age twenty-five, he moved up to catching rapists and murderers. Halfway through his twenty-sixth year, he decided to make an attempt to capture a band of bank robbers and botched the job. After waiting several days, he got a lead on where their lair was and went in without trying to get any backup. Walking through the door, he set of an improvised explosive device, blowing off three of his limbs. As luck would have it, members of the Damian Protectorate company were planning on making a raid on the lair of thieves themselves and called for medical transport for Jason.
After many surgeries and months of physical therapy, he was released with remade limbs and greeted with a letter from his insurance company, they were dropping him from their services, now that he was well again. With his only skills being those of bounty hunters and in need of a new insurance policy, Jason joined up with the newly formed, Gray Security.
