I have submitted a character profile. Let me know if I need to make any changes. Question about the riot shotgun, what does the vitals scanner do? Is it for first aid purposes, or is it capable of detecting other people in the area?

Yes the eye gore is always twisted and lovely, and I was planning on being as paranoid a person as I could for this. I honestly think that I will have a little too much fun with this character.

The Vital Scanner is for reconnaissance so you can scope out enemy guards… but it can be used for medical purposes to monitor the heart rate if necessary.

Would it be all right if Jason was off duty before the shit hit the fan, so for one reason or another, he couldn't make it to the barracks or armory for his CCTU gear, but managed to pick his current weapons off of a fellow CCTU soldier's dead body.
He will be wearing the CCTU's security uniform (pants, shirt, jacket from the appearance picture) as well as a CCTU badge on the left side of his jacket if thats okay.

Frak, that was what I was gonna have for my guy, as well. >_> So the others would have to help him get to the armory so he could ~~loot~~ get his armor. That way the player party wouldn't be overly combat-ready early on, so there can be some running and fear before we get the giant effing gatling lasers.

Oh well, plan B works too- Bust down a wall in someone's general vicinity.

Eh, I was thinkin about whether it would be a good idea, so I decided Jason will start out in full combat gear instead, go ahead with your original plan :P

I am no longer accepting Cydren military forces. Scientists and Subjects are still open, you need to RSVP any future security positions with me before making your CS if you were already making said soldier. I would like all Character Sheets in by Wednesday as I will only be allowing new characters to join as we progress to new level of the complex if you can’t finish by Wednesday make sure to let me know so I can reserve you a position.

Then i'll have mine in either tonight or Wednesdays. it always takes me a while to come up with a decent character to roleplay, sometimes even longer to come up with an epic character to roleplay.

I plan is to have Gabriel on the payroll as a doctor who was used to try and salvage patients that didn't work with the machine, or got their nervous systems damaged by other forms of testing. Went to Cydren because he couldn't take the spotlight of working in the public eye. Was thinking he has relatively low security clearance, perhaps he was told that they were testing a new drug on willing subjects (or some other BS like that). He's not stupid though and suspects foul play due to the state of the patients, but hes trapped in the situation as whenever he tries to confront anyone higher up about it he gets cold and slightly threatening statements. This along with the fact that he is under strict contract means he can't just quit and thus he takes his inability to help the obviously abused patients out on himself. He dives deeper into his addiction to cigarettes and alcohol (and perhaps a "sci-fi"esque hardcore [I'm debating]) that he developed early in his career after failing his first patient. Cydren keeps him on despite his bad habits because he is fucking great at his job. This all happens before the break out occurs.

Wanted to check if this position was an OK one to take as far as the setting goes. Specifically because I'm not quite sure what Cydren is, political group, military government, corporation?

Cydren is a Paramilitary Mega-Corporation and they are generally straight forward with their employees about what is going on. They may try to deceive government employees but they don't do that with their own... and they also use the magic Apathy pill!

Ok, hurm...... Escaped patient is gathered up by some real authorities and before Cydren is able to contain the situation, the patient is brought to a hospital where Gabriel works. After he saves the patient (who has considerable damage do his nervous system) Cydren busts in and recaptures the patient (Gabriel responds like "WTF are you doing with my patient?! Where are the cops?!) . A researcher or higher up that is accompanying the retrieval squad saw that he had fixed the severely damaged subject and thinks Gabriel can be useful (he is also asking a few too many questions and needs to be silenced). The higher up offers Gabriel an ultimatum of either being killed/becoming a subject or working for them to make damaged subjects able to be useful again. blah blah blah Gabriel don't wanna die, takes his weakness out on himself. That work?? >.< if not I can try again.

*edit* Now that I come out of the regular OOC thread I can see what you were referencing to your apathy pill. I assume it is company polocy that everyone "must" take the pill.....I have a deep need to work around that......the character model I have in my head that is Gabriel would not let himself forgo the "punishment" of feeling bad over the actions he commits.

I have several potential "work arounds" for this worked up.
One (the least plausible in my mind) is that he simply fakes taking the pill (perhaps hiding it under his tongue or forcing himself to vomit it up) and has the mental fortitude to convincingly hide his emotions.
Two, he fakes taking the pill, but instead of being able to magically hide his emotions at all times of contact with others, uses his medical knowledge to either create or procure some sort of facial expression suppressor (I'm thinking some sort of muscle relaxant).
Three, he knows he has Klinefelter's syndrome and is infertile. In development and testing of this drug it was found that those who knew they were infertile could logically find no reason for living and they became useless/invalid under the effects of the drug. Cydren realizes he is very good at what he does and saves them time and money in fixing the damaged subjects. So they simply give him a 24 hour security escort to see that he is kept in check.

I hope at least one of these work arounds will be acceptable (personal favorite is three). However I will accept the situation if you think that Gabriel somehow not taking the apathy pill is not plausible in the setting. If this is the case I will need to rethink and reshape Gabriel (perhaps even changing some of the values on the character sheet), If that is the case I will do my best.
