Name: Astriot Dealno

Gender: Male

Alignment: Neutral

Future Title: Balverine Slayer

Hometown: Knothole Glade

Age: 9

Family occupations: None

Weapon(s): Obsidian Greatsword with a single Silver Augment.

Spec(s): Strength and Skill

Personality: Astriot has what most would call, "introverted personality." He is known to keep his thoughts to himself and speak when he deems it necessary. He is also known to be rough and self-reliant, which portrays as a strong fighter who keeps his true feelings to himself. These actions lead people to see him as a cold, melancholy character to those he meets. Those his actions speak louder than his words, notoriously when he takes tasks most wouldn't, doesn't mean he is a dumb brute. Astriot is gifted with vast amounts of knowledge, which could make him a master of Will. However, he believes the only honor in life is to die by the sword or by nature herself.

Companion/Pet: A white Dire-Wolf with a grey "X" shaped scar on its chest; also named Fenrir.
Image

Apperance:
Adult: Image

Child: A child-version of the adult picture, dressed in dark villager clothing.

History: Astriot's history is shrouded by sorrow and mystery; something he uses to cast a shadow about himself. What he has revealed to others or other villagers have gathered in Knothole Glade, his father was once a renowned Balverine Hunter that was almost equalled to Scarlet Rose. During his father's career, he met a beautiful barmaid in his travels to Bowerstone. Falling in love, the couple married and settled in his father's home of Knothole Glade. Once he was about to make out on another adventure, his mother announced she was pregnant with their son. Seeing this as a sign from Avo to put away his sword, Astriot's father became a logger to support the family's needs. It was when Astriot turned four, that his mother and father were brutally slaughtered by Balverines in their attacks on the village. Watching his mother and father die slowly, he was left with the intent to become a great swordsman like his father and slay the Balverines till they became extinct in Knothole Glade.

Re: Fable: Tales of the Heroes

Tips: 0.00 INK Postby Traziel on Thu Jun 25, 2009 3:10 pm

Name: Veronica DuValle
Sex: Female
Alignment: Bad
Future Title: Enchantress
Hometown: Snowspire
Age: 10
Family occupations: Merchants of the weapons shop.
Weapon of choice: Words
Spec: Will

Apperance: Hair of pure white cascades over eyes of hazy gray. Her form is very lithe, but her abundance of clothes when in Snowpire often make her look plumper. Being more accustomed to more freezing temperatures, when in Hook Coast she only wears a black evening gown with leather shoes of the same color. Veronica's skin is pale, giving her a rather ghostly look.

History: Born and raised in Snowpire, Veronica was never the social type. Nor was she the friendly type, often stealing from anywhere left unwatched or mentally torturing the town's children with eerie tales of foreign beasts. The town naturally views her as a menace, but the citizens rarely approach her for fear of what she may do to them. Recent events of a murder with no given suspect has caused Veronica's parents to worry, thus she has been shipped away to live with her aunt in Hook Coast. Luckily her reputation had not followed her, leaving many doors unlocked and many pockets ripe for thievery.

When Veronica is not out doing her "daily runs", she is often cooped up in her room with a new-found interest in the many tomes her aunt possessed. Never known for being the studious type, Veronica's aunt has taken a special liking to her, providing her with training in the arts of magic.

Usually I can make great backstories on my character, but he is a child right now. So, I'm sorry if its not exactly the way it could be, its what I thought on the spot. Ask Comrade, he knows some of my characters in other roleplays and will vouche from my skill.

Also, good to be roleplaying with you again Comrade, been awhile.

(yay, time to start)

Rourin Lightfoot stepped out of his family's farm house and yawned, the boy carried his fathers dirk (for all of you that dont know what a dirk is, its about the size of a machete) which to him was about as big as a sword at his age. He would go play with his friend Marcel, for today was the day they would be admitted into the guild of heroes. They both showed enormous potential and were going to become aprentices. Along the way he was stopped by his mother and father standing at the gates.
"Hello son" his father said with a big smile on his face. He placed a hand on the boys shoulder and looked him in the eye. "Your mother and I are so proud of you."
"Today, our other son also becomes a hero just like his older brother Dirge." she almost screemed.
"Thanks mom." the boy said and hugged his mother.
"Go run along now." His father said. "Play with all your friends for after today, they wont see you for a very long time."
"I know Father." the boy said and hugged his dad.
"See you at your departing trip." they both said as he ran down the rode and to his friends.

Re: Fable: Tales of the Heroes

Tips: 0.00 INK Postby The_Lone_SOLDIER on Thu Jun 25, 2009 7:57 pm

As the caravan's wagon bounced through the rugged terrain and slid through the mud of yesterday's thunderstorm, Astriot sat alone in the back. His left hand was tightly gripped around his long-dead father's greatsword. His father when he knew him, was once a renowned balverine slayer. The man used this blade they say to slay five White Balverines throughout his career. How ever, his father was forced into retirement after Astriot's mother gave birth to him. Ever since then, the blade hung on the mantle above the fireplace as a trophy of a distant past.

"Hey kid, we're near Bowerstone. When we arrive, you can make your way to the Guild of Heroes." the caravan driver spoke to Astriot.

Mr. Murgeuson, or Mr. Big-Hat to Astriot, was a traveling trader who was on his way to Bowerstone to sell his latest profit. At the pleading of the villagers in Knothole Glade, they asked if he would take Astriot to the Guild of Heroes. They knew of his heroic bloodline and only wanted what was best for his future. Reluctant at first, but the trader evetually gave in and took Astriot along with him. But before they left, Astriot made sure to take his father's sword with him, the only heirloom that was left.

"Okay Mr. Big-Hat." Astriot replied.

Looking under the canvas cover of the wagon, Astriot could make out the bustling town of Bowerstone in the distance. A few more miles and Astriot would have to get off to travel to the Guild. What was the guild anyways, Astriot had only heard stories of the place. The only well-known thing about the place was it was the home of, "The Hero of Oakvale and Slayer of Jack of Blades" when he was a child. Lowering the piece of canvas of the cover, Astriot closed his eyes and tried to get the sleep he needed before he arrived at his destination.

There was still some early morning mist hanging around the Brightwood road.
"I promised my father I would give you his Cutlass when you go off to the Guild...also here's something from me," said Owen's father handing him a large steel cleaver with a round ring at the end of the handle with several rune inscriptions for undead banishment on the blade as well as a heavy crossbow with similar runes. "You remeber what happened to old Ted on his way to Bowerstone, jumped by a Hollow as I recall, left a nasty mess on the road..."

"OK father I'll see you when I get out" replied Owen

"You'll do great, I'll see you soon"

Owen turned and trudged down the path towards Bower Lake, the weight of his weapons barely showing in his step. It would take half the day to reach the Guild.

"You've learned much in the little time that you've been here, but I can not watch over your skills much longer. Rumors of wraiths appearing around the edges of the Coast has given me a responsibility. While I don't have much to offer, take this will user's robe. It will slightly enhance your magic capabilities but remember your limits.

Before you go... I also know of your delving into darker arts. While I do not condone such magics, do remember that whichever path you take, be sure to weigh the consequences of your actions. Besides, it would pain me to see such a beautiful girl become equal to a Balverine as a result of that Berserk craft." A rather young woman stood before Veronica, dressed in normal garbs etched with runic markings. The woman placed a pale hand against Veronica's face of the same color. "Head to the Cullis Gate and travel to Bowerstone. I'm sure you remember the place. Go straight to the Guild and I'm sure they will be of much aid to you. Here's a bag of gold in case you run out of food. Your bag is by the front door." The woman smiled. "Now hurry along before I shed a tear."

With her aunt's last words bestowed upon her, Veronica grasped the strap of her bag and tossed it over her shoulder. For a moment she reminisced of her times in both Snowspire and Hook Coast, but after snapping back into reality she quickly left her aunt's home. Instantly she was brushed up against by the chilled winds of the area, but she didn't flinch. Instead she embraced the conditions she had grown to love, and sighed at the thought of leaving. Upon reaching the Cullis Gate at the edge of town, Veronica slowly stepped into the vortex with Bowerstone's destination embedded in her thoughts. Soon she was engulfed by a swirl of blue lights as the Gate safely transported her away from Hook Coast. "I'll be back... Someday."

The travel was almost instantaneous. Veronica stepped from the embrace of the Cullis Gate and was greeted by a nearby child. Veronica's deep gray hues gaze an icy glare to the child, sending him scurrying off into the bowels of the city. Veronica was here on business, and the sooner she arrived at the Guild the sooner she could be on her way. Or so she thought. Approaching the city gates, Veronica nodded to a standing guard. He stared at her awkwardly. "And where're ya goin' little miss?" Veronica's visage had been blocked by the veiling curtain of her hair. She slid the strands back on one side to reveal an eye as she looked up to the guard with much discontent. "I have business at the Guild. I advise you to do your job and simply open the gate." Her words were like daggers that pierced deep into the guard's authoritative disposition. Though she was young, her maturity had excelled beyond that of anyone her age. If her glare was not enough, she wouldn't hesitate to effectively state her wishes.

The guard didn't reply. He simply opened the large wooden gate and Veronica strode out onto the dirt path. The highest peak of the Guild's hold was visible in the distance, but she could only will herself to travel so far. With a slight suck of her teeth she gauged the distance and how long it would take before arriving. The calculations gave her a minor headache, resulting in the dismissal of the thought and the beginning of her walk. "What I'd do to go back to Snowspire. This sun is unbearable." she said, shielding her eyes as she looked up to the treetops.

(by the way I had an idea for everyone that graduates from the guild get a pet. That means us. Make it something that represents your character, i.e Stealthy fox, Strong bear, Wise owl. Make it something that is reasonable. No dragons or chimeras or anything like that thats just too cheap. As far as mythology goes giant scorpions and large bats and things like that are fine. Oh yeah and dibs on wolf :P)
