Leah Elizabeth Chapman stared at her father as he told the family about the vacation. Her jaw had dropped a little bit. Was he serious? Were they really going to try and "be a family" for two weeks at some house in Hawaii? She probably should have been thrilled, but she was almost... angry.

Not even a week later, they were arriving to the Hawaii airport, all five of them. They rented a cab, and their dad handed the man directions. Four of them were crammed in the backseat: Sarah, their mom, A.J., Nick and Leah herself. Their dad, Jeremy, was in the front seat trying to help the driver get to the right place because whatever directions his boss had given him were hard to decipher.

The car ride seemed to drag on for an eternity. Maybe it was the fact that she was crammed next to her brother, who took up a good amount of space, causing her to be squashed against the window? Who knew. But, finally, they came into sight of a huge condo. It was at least three or four stories tall; one of the biggest houses she'd ever seen. More like a hotel. Leah opened the car door instantly, practically falling out. "Land, sweet land..." she mumbled sarcastically.

It was then that she saw two more cars drive up. "Who could that be?" Mrs. Chapman said, tilting her head. Their dad just blushed. "Err, well, those are probably the other two families that will be staying with us."

Everyone's eyes immediately fell on Mr. Chapman.
"Birthdays are good for you. Statistics show that the people who have the most live the longest." Larry Lorenzoni

AJ ate the raspberries she had brought with a smile on her face. Though she was crammed between Nick and her mother, she was happy with her raspberries. When they had pulled up to the large hotel and Leah fell from the car, she looked upon the scene boredly. Their bags where in the trunk and Alyse ended up leaning on it waiting for her parents to go inside. She was licking the raspberry juice from her sticky fingers when the other cars pulled up. Glancing at them, she looked away. She could feel the sun burning into her fair skin and she didn't want to be out for longer than necessary.

When her father said "other two families" AJ knew exactly what was coming next. Of course. This house isn't small enough for just one family. No, there was two other families staying here. She pasted a cut out smile on her pink lips.

OOC: For future references, do you want me to post Nick and AJ in the same post? Or should I separate them? I'll post Nick's in a while. I have homework.
Love me forever; as long as the sky is bright, as long as the world revolves, and as long as I can breathe.

Nick sat comfortably between his two sisters. His feet were bouncing anxiously. He didn't want to be in the same car with his family for any longer than necessary and he was trying to make the time pass faster. He glanced back and forth between the two girls. One munching on raspberries as always and the other staring through the glass separating her from the real world. He was bored and hollow. He thought people were speaking to him, maybe his father. He didn't look up from the hands he had rested in his lap. When the car stopped and Leah fell from the door, he looked upon her with a look of indifference. After getting out and closing the door, he looked into the distance. Spotting the cars at the same moment as Leah, he looked to his father. As the crimson spread he knew something wasn't right.

"Other families." Wonderful, he thought sarcastically, I get to spend this not so great vacation with a couple other families. He glanced back at AJ and he could tell she was doing the same thing as him. Keeping the man happy, putting a smile, real or fake, on their lips. He ran his fingers through his tasseled hair. The perfect son. Yeah, that was Nick.

For most of the car ride, Rhiannon was silent. It wasn't awkward to jump into a conversation, it was just...uncomfortable. Setting up a reason for her lack of speech was when she pulled a set of big, chunky headphones over her ears to block everyone out. She wasn't one to listen to music loudly, but cranked up the volume just in case. Her mother's voice alone made her want to gag. Cramped into the backseat by the window, she gazed out casually at the sight of palm trees, stones, and beautiful beaches. When she first heard the news of Hawaii, she was thrilled. Finally, her father and her would spend time together again, just like the good ol' days. However, what bothered her was her mothers reactions, and that's when she had ticked. After an hour of yelling and arguing, Hawaii no longer appealed to her. Give it to her mother for being a killjoy.

Suddenly, her blue-gray eyes caught sight of a vacation house...no, mansion, ten times too big for one family. That is, until she saw two similar cars pull up at the driveways.

"...those aren't..." She murmured to herself, before glancing at her two brothers. "Dad? Have you not told us something?"

TJ wasn't asleep, but he was acting like he was. With his head pressed to the warm window, he kept his eyes closed and listened to his family talk, well, mostly his parents talk. TJ had nothing in common with his family, or atleast he felt that way. He wasn't into sports like his sister, brother and father, and for that sole reason he felt like his father hated him, or was atleast disappointed in him. TJ had slowly moved on from the facts and had concluded that his father was just trying to live out his dreams in his youngest son, but he did nothing to try to become athletic. He was who he was and he wasn't going to change for anyone.

The sound of his sister's voice and the slowing of their car caused TJ to pull his brown eyes open, and he rubbed them quickly as the bright sun shined through the windows. In front of the car sat a gigantic home with two other cars that were unloading people.

He narrowed his eyes, realizing that this was not just their vacation home. TJ didn't wait to see what his father's response was though, and once the car stopped he slipped out and pulled his bags out of the trunk before sliding his sunglasses over his face and brushing his light brown hair out of the way.

"This was a waste of a trip," he muttered with a sigh as he glanced back at his own family and then towards the other two.
