Greetings fellow roleplayers! Writing and roleplaying have been passions of mine for a very long time, and I hope to improve upon them both in my time here. It has been roughly two years since I have last committed to a roleplay (I often used TinierMe if any are familiar), so I am a little rusty with the processes but very eager to get back into it again and Roleplay Gateway seems like the perfect place to do so!
Generally I am interested in roleplays of a darker nature (zombies, vampires, etc.) but I also enjoy fantasy or historical type roleplays as well.
Whenever I am not writing, I am usually playing video games (currently Assassin's Creed IV) or snuggling with my three cats. Along with that, I also enjoy attempting to learn new languages and learning about the history of the world.
Anyway, I look forward to getting to know people (making friends? :D) and hopefully bettering my own skills through the delight that is roleplaying! Cheers!

Hi there DulcheFlorbelle,
First off, welcome to RPG! Weāre glad you stopped by, and hope it's the kind of place youād be happy to stay awhile. Iām Kiku, one of the Mods and Scholars on the site (something Iāll explain a bit more about later).
But first, about you! Welcome back to RP; I hope it's as awesome as your remember it. There are quite a lot of opportunities for zombies, post-apoc, and fantasy on the site, so we should definitely have you covered there. I'm going to include a couple links below that should be good places to start looking for that story you want to jump back in with. How is ACIV, anyway? I admit I haven't played anything in the series since Revelations, and I probably ought to get caught up at some point.
I'm glad to hear there's a language buff around; I've always loved stuff like etymology personally. Which ones do you know? Anyway, I could probably ramble about words all day, but hijacking this thread with that is probably not the best idea. Regardless, welcome, we're glad to have you. It's a pretty big site for one of its kind, so I'm including some stuff below to help you hit the highlights early on, so to speak. Best of luck to you!
So, the rest of the stuff I have for you here is just really general information that I give out to everyone new. Iām hoping some of it will be useful, but in case itās a little much or perhaps slightly confusing given the mechanics of the site, you should absolutely feel free to ask me additional questions. Iām here to help, and you should always feel comfortable asking any member of staff (those of us with the colored usernames) for assistance. Many of your fellow users are very helpful, too. Generally speaking, those of us with green names are mods, and weāre in charge of site maintenance, content regulation, and making sure things run as smoothly as possible. Dark blue names indicate that someone is a scholar, and if you have questions about writing or the minutiae of RP, character creation, or any of that awesome meat-and-potatoes stuff, those are the people to go to. The red names belong to our admins, the people in charge.
Anyway, in case youāre looking to jump right in, I advise you to look first at the Interest Checks and Roleplayers Wanted subforums. These are where youāll find people looking to write, and if youāre interested in what theyāre talking about, donāt hesitate to say so!
Please do take a quick look at our Rules; they are few, but important. If you have general questions, chances are good that someoneās asked already, and a lot of the answers can be found either in the Help section, or, sometimes, here in my Questions thread.
I realize thatās a lot of stuff, and this is really a huge site for what it does. I certainly remember being overwhelmed when I first arrived on the site, and there werenāt even as many features then as there are now. So please donāt think you have to figure it all out on your own if you donāt want to. If none of those links get you where you want to go, feel free to ask me right here in this thread, or by shooting me a PM (something you can only do when you have ~10 posts in the forum, by the way). Otherwise, exploring is a great way to learn, if thatās what you prefer.
