Severus Snape stood waiting for the Hogwarts Express. The sun was shining brightly, making his unusual sallow skin stand out. His greasy black hair was a mess, and his dark black eyes was quite unusual. It was Severus' first year to Hogwarts. His mother hugged him as the train pulled up (for they had gotten on the platform early.) He said good bye to his mother and got on the train.
His robes were hand-me-downs from his father, and they were too long on him, and faded in color, as was his wand. Ebony, dragon heartstring, firm at 13.5 inches, it had belonged to his father as well. Young Snape made his way to an empty compartment, carrying his things and tripped on the aisle when someone put thier foot out.
