Just Another Planet.

a topic in The Multiverse (Persistent World), a part of the RPG forum.

Where legends collide, warriors rise and titans fall. This is the general in character world, where your creations can rise to fame driven only by your imagination - this is the persistent world in which all characters exist. This whole forum is one big roleplay, with no specific rules or guidelines. If you want to create a roleplay in a single thread, this probably isn't where it needs to be.

Remember - this whole forum is one persistent world - your characters are free to move from topic to topic here with no restrictions.

Just Another Planet.

Planet:

- Size, similar to earth but with less water, and over the larges bodies of water, otherwise known as oceans, are vein like pieces of land, stretching a crossed to other continents or places. Miniature island routes, to travel through the water, some are wide enough that several a hundred large men could lay a crossed and, with an inch or two of space against each, could still not touch the ends. Others are so small, and so dangerous, that a child would have to walk, foot to foot, to try and get a crossed. of course, these are the worst for creatures (giant squids, sharks, and other such carnivorous creatures attempt to pick anyone stupid, or arrogant, enough to try and pass). Though the atmosphere supports life, the blistering sun has burnt out most chances of people inhabiting there for long periods of time, and the few pure human beings who live there are burnt to a crisp, or tanned ‘black’ by the sun.

A blistering place, that supports more the growth if dense jungle vegetation than life-giving greens. For whatever reason, most animals that seem to have inhabited this place have gained more humanoid features or thoughts, though most still seem like animals with human intelligence. Of those that take a more “human” appearance, they’re most herbivores, for to eat another animal is largely considered cannibalism (and, of course, it is very difficult to even catch another animal, for they are smarter than they should be and have the chance to evolve into a hunting species themselves.) Of course, if the animal they ‘descended’ from was a carnivore, they have either learned to hunt the others of their kind, retaining their more animalistic appearances and behavior patterns, or simply form a rather weird Aztec-related type of cannibalism, with the person “sacrificed” believed that his or her body is merely keeping the others alive and sacrificed only to be eaten by the rest of the “clan/tribe” or, in large groups “Pact’ or “pard” depending on the location of said groups.

Races :

Lamians: The snake people, they tend to stick to the vast deserts, stretching for miles upon miles of sand and dirt. Tanned to a dark brown, and the more desert-vegetation eating sort of creatures. They’ve evolved from the giant snakes of the desert and, though they have a rather large sense of human intelligence, are so in touch with their snake ancestors that, to them, they are nothing but larger and limbed such animals. Generally roaming about in little to no clothing, they live on a sort of barter-system but, of course, they are rather patient and strong-willed people. Prone to moving around to escape the other animal-types who inhabit this strange type of world, they hate going near water and, need they drink or eat, they ingest cacti. They have ‘tribes'.’

Feline:’Pard” livers, these creatures are part of the small group of “cannibals’, breathing and living the practice of eating their own, and any other creature unfortunate to stumble upon one of their pards or ‘cities’. Living in groups of near two hundred, with a sacrifice every day at sundown and sunup, this group of animals (for they have nothing but a nearish human appearance) Live and breath the hunt, the game and anything else. Covered in thick black to brown fur, these creatures have only just evolved into the level of walking upright.

Other small, similar races live about, but they tend to be smaller, and less evolved than those two groups. Even though, they are an important part of the ecosystem and help in the distributing of plants and smaller animals to more of the planet.

The roar and scream of the large felines echo through the jungle. The sun began to rise, a large Blue-white orbs hovering in a crimson-smeared sky. The sound, which had begun but twenty minutes earlier as soft as a pitter of rain, now burst up in a death-cry of joy. The sacrifice was beginning and, the one fortunate enough to feed the small pard of twenty feline’s stepped forward. Her large body, crouched down as if at any moment she would fall forward, to rest large dinner-sized plate paws upon the ground and walk like she should have been. Squished features, only slightly resembling that of a humans, or more likely that of some sort of chimpanzee, where scrunched up with pride and bloodlust. Large jade green and urine yellow eyes squinted, and the silted pupil in the middle jumped from the sunrise, to those of the large things around her. Those grotesque creatures, who’s eyes shined with a near-human intelligence, where stained by the look of hunger upon their fur-covered faces.

Of course, one measly female- only six foot from flat nose to writhing tail, and only a mere two hundred and thirty pound body was not enough to feed the other mammoth creatures that gathered upon the chaotic vegetation covered floor. Some stood, tipped forward upon two surprisingly muscular, but slender, legs. And other’s still retained the stocky legs of an animal. The loud rawer soon quieted, to a sound of hushed anticipation. it did not take brains to know that the air was tinged with the knowledge that the blood would spill soon. Standing proud upon two feet, the legs arched and the start of ankles helping her stand unwavering before the large gray-streaked panther.

He advanced forward, fur covered tail twisting through the air as a large paw sweeped out, claws extending from the five fingered paw that had, moments before, been placed upon the ground. A sudden hush seemed to sweep through the jungle as those claws tore through the fur and sinew of the female before him, only to have thick cheery-red blood ooze from the wound. It was a playful sweep, a wound to enrage and call up the crowd of waiting people, salivating as the scent of fresh blood and the meat that would soon be laying before them, on their ground. A chunk for each, a chunk of fresh meat..The crowd went into a blood frenzy. A renewed echo of hunger swept through the forest as the old cat swept forward once more and, with a quick motion, severed the jugular of the standing feline. A spurt of dark blood splattered over the cat and a large growl was ripped from his mouth. Scarlet streaked his gray fur, and the body went down before him. Razor sharp teeth were bared, and the crows shifted. Waited.

The elder lowered his head to the back of the now dead other, burying his snout in the fresh wound, smearing it with blood and taking a single, delicate bite. Upon finishing he stepped back- and allowed the crowd to start forward in a blood-scented riot. kicking, scratching. Death. – Some wouldn’t survive the morning feast, but everyone would get feed, one measly scrap of meat or a bone to chew on, at the least.

A VF-19 flew down, its engine gleaming as the vessel de-accelerated from orbit, the starfighter’s legs firing bursts of energy to slow the machine down, before it became more of a fighter like form. It was landing, slowly, looking like a shooting star over the jungle planet. “World is unknown, far from major trade routes, a week from Gilgamesh at maximum speed
” the pilot muttered, as his machine fired a small burst in the jungle, past the primitive sacrifice, allowing the craft to make a safe, if rough landing. He had made it.

“Naturalist Fighter 011.” The man said, feeling his parts disconnect from the advanced machine, “Status OK. Setting up Database beacon
. Done!” With that, he jumped from the opened window of the machine, landing on the dense earth below. Even in the forest region, the heat was oppressive, forcing him to vent out excess energy several times, the large heat venting wings opening up before closing again.

He then boarded his craft, moving through the jungle slowly, scanning for the city which the sensors noted, the large signs of life unusual. “It may be time for first contact..”
