"You must be joking..."

That was all Alphonse-Yves muttered as his ear was hard pressed against the tiled roof that was Merlin's house. It had been right for him to follow that surfer youth. And, quite frankly, it was very hard to believe that there are monsters that are killed by happy thoughts. Alphonse-Yves thought to dismiss the old-sounding voice as senile, but then Twilight Town came back to mind.

He needed to follow these people. No matter what the cost.

Alphonse-Yves thought to himself. These creatures... Timbers... die when struck by a person that is thinking of pleasant memories. If everyone knew about this, then even a child could single-handedly defeat Timbers with the upmost ease. But why would this old man, Merlin, send them out to find Keyblades? And how did he know about Timber-defeating methods, or the Seven Ancient Keyblades, whatever they are? And what kind of monster guards them? How on earth did this old codger know about all this?

Something's wrong here. Even a child could figure that out.

Wait; Keyblades. Wasn't there a visitor at Twilight Town some time ago that wielded a weapon of that description? Alphonse-Yves shook his head at the thought. This wasn't the time to reminisce on things that he wasn't around for. Right now, tracking these people was his first priority. They seemed to all be in this task together, so picking someone to follow didn't sound to difficult. There was definately more to these Keyblades than meets the eye.

Zuru looked up at the small looking pawn shop. She tilted her head to the side, what was this? It didn't seem like anything special, just a normal looking shop. The letter didn't stop yet, it went through the door, slipping under the old creaky door as it went somewhere. She guessed she was at her destination. She looked up higher, seeing someone on the roof. He looked like he was thinking hard about something, so she didn't bother him. Anyways, who knows who he was? He could be someone special, or maybe just a passing by person, but Zuru didn't care. She really didn't want to take chances in this place. Fallowing the letter was the most oddest thing yet, obviously there was more yet to come. She had to be ready for this.

Giving the odd boy one last glance, she slowly entered the shop. She was too carefree to bother to let her Keyblade out, or maybe it was her institution. Either way, she had no reason to first of all. She also thought how crowded it seemed in this little shop, who would even fight in here? Forgetting her thoughts, she found the letter, floating in front of a door. It disseminated in wisps of air, completely gone and blended with the wind. Zuru sighed. There goes her only company, now it felt a little lonely around. She didn't care though, she was alone since most of her life, she was used to it.

Taking a deep breath, she held the handle, about to turn it until something stopped her. She heard a voice from the other side, and it seemed to be of an old man's. It was slightly husky and low, so it must have been. She retreated her hand from the handle and listened, leaning against the side of the door. She didn't want to interrupt, since it could have been very important, so she decided to listen outside. Actually, that was a pretty good idea. She could learn something and get away with it, unless of course they managed to catch her. She highly doubted that, since she knew as a fact that no one knew of her. It was risky, but she didn't care, she got in trouble many times and once more doesn't matter. The stuff they were talking about seemed a little boring, so she spaced out almost immediately. Well, you can't blame a kid.

Nevil looked out the window and notice a person. He wondered who could it be so he opened a door. A girl fell foward. "Uh sorry?" he said. He looked out the window and noticed what was suppose to be the person was just a sign. He ignored the girl and went to Alphonse-Yves. "Hey wanna be partners?"

Could this be a joke? Was this man serious? He just walked into the building and was already given direct orders, to find these keyblades and use happy thoughts to kill creatures called Timbers. Tilting his head to the side, strands of his purple hair brushed across his brow and over to the far right "You've got to be kidding me..." Jase stood looking at the wizard in confusion, then to the others. A sigh seeped passed his lips as he lowered his gaze to the floor, so he was brought here to stop monsters from harming people? Did that mean it was his chance to play a hero? Of course he wouldn't be the only one, which he had to remind himself to keep his boasting in check. "I'm confused" Jase looked over at Merlin 'Crazy old man' he remarked in the back of his mind. "What are keyblades?" Then he suffered a flashback. Long ago when he went back to his home he saw something lying on the floor, it was large. It felt like metal, he did take back home with him and thought it was cool since he glowed and he seemed fascinated by it till it faded away.

"What do they look like?" his brow furrowed when he asked that question, if what he had was a keyblade then it was gone...non-existent. That meant he had lost it for good, or it just went back to it's owner. If that was the case, what was going to happen and what would he have to do to get it back? Merlin seemed to know who he was, maybe he had the answer in knowing how he would get it back.

Reality struck, he needed to choose a partner and a Gummi Ship, whatever a Gummi Ship was he wondered if it was edible because he was hungry. Standing there Jase looked to be about a good five feet and two inches tall, maybe he was short for his age; as if that mattered to him. Where he was from there were kids taller, and some shorter than him...sad thing was he didn't have that many friends since he was the youngest teenager on the island. Who wanted to waste their time on him? This wasn't going to be easy, yeah he had the tendency to be overly zealous at times, but it was his nature. "So...who wants to be my partner?" he asked out to everyone.

Val looked at the boy who spoke and realized that this would require her to trust absolute strangers with not only her life but the lives of those in other worlds. Stepping foreward she nodded and spoke with a grin. "As long as you can handle your own in a tight spot I will."

How can a world, coked so by darkness resist being swayed into the abyss of darkness? How can a man, so tempted by greed, and evil ever survive such urges? What was the fate of these worlds in the end, when the darkness finally set upon them, and faded them into the nothingness that was nonexistence? Do they simply return to nothing? Or do they become renewed, and reborn from the light?

These were the questions that plagued Judico's mind as he slowly drifted to sleep on the mattress in the corner of Merlin's house. he had always thought these questions, and could never explain why. And each day, they dug a more defined niche within his thoughts. It was almost as though he was meant to be the very one that answered these questions in the end of it all. Perhaps, his own actions would lead him to the answers he sought, and the memories, lost to him, but still holding dominance within his heart.

He was now no longer within Merlin's house. He was standing high atop a pillar of mountainous rocks, among a vast, dark plain. The moon hung like a spectral facade upon a desolate sky, praying for the inhabitants of the world below Judico. Judico himself was at a loss to explain what he was doing here, and even what he was, as he clearly wasn't human anymore. he didn't want to hurt the people here, but it was his job, apparently, and that was enough motivation for him to carry forth with such an atrocity. With a single swipe of his arms, he found himself having terminated the world he had been on.

This wasn't him, it couldn't be. He wasn't a killer, a destroyer. He was a protector of the worlds. Yet he had laid waste to this lowly world, without them having done harm upon him. Why was he doing this to these people? Why was being so cold, and uncaring?

Before anything that had happened could be pieced together, he was pulled back to his waking reality. Merlin was now standing over him, with a light smile reflecting out from under his white beard. "Get up Judico," he said, "the others have arrived, and I must speak with you all now."

Yawning, Judico got up from the mattress, only barely managing to fit his massive frame between the floor and ceiling of the house. He was odd in this respect. While the average man topped out in height at about six feet, Judico had reached an astonishing ten feet. His body itself was like a large truck, and his legs were like those of a bull... a very large bull that is. He looked down at the others standing around him, and mumbled a tired "hello."

A nice little alarm clock woke her up from her little fantasy, the floor. ā€œWhat...?ā€ she muttered, sitting up straight. Wait, wasn't I standing up a moment ago...? She thought, looking up to see a boy. She froze, but she noticed that he wasn't focused on her, but on the boy who she saw outside. That was a good chance to escape, though she knew she couldn't go through the front door. She looked around, seeing if there was a back door or any other exit. Nothing. Not even a window, and the only two windows were by the two boys. Just her luck.

She looked at the door that she was leaning beside, and wondered where this leaded to, so she decided to check it out. She leaned over, trying to see what was inside, but made another mistake. Why am I making so many mistakes?! She shouted to herself, which she could probably answer if she really thought about it. Inside were many other people, and a very, very, large man. ā€œWhoa...ā€ she whispered, looking up. How tall was he? That was the first question in her mind.

Shaking her head, she quickly retreated back to her place. How was she going to get out of here? There seemed like no escape, but these people didn't really give off a threatening aura. They were confused, just like she was. She wondered if they all got the letter too. Maybe they did. Even if they did, she just wanted to get out of here. Why did she have to be chosen anyways? She was just a normal kid, well, maybe not entirely normal, but she still had no reason to have been brought here. Unless......Nah, it couldn't be She thought, waving off her theory.

Right now though, wasn't the right time to be thinking about random things. She had to get out of here. She'll just hide for now, and then run when no one's there. Though she had to say, this was the most stupidest plan ever. She knew it wouldn't work, but she had to try. It was her only method left.

Before Jase was about to address Val he had over heard Merlin tell him that if he holds his hand out it would appear, that sounded far fetched indeed. Yet somehow after all that he's been through with coming here, it could possibly be true. So if he holds out his hands the keyblade would appear, then if so then how was he to use it. No point in asking anymore questions, it was better to try and discover answers on his own since they were going to be fending for themselves somewhat. Trying to wrap his mind around everything so far he turned back to Val "Okay lets do this, lets get our...gummi ship or whatever you call it and go find these keyblades" a broad smile showed on his face. Ever since he first landed in Hallow Bastian there was hardly a smile on his face, maybe a faint one but this time he was really smiling. It wouldn't be too bad, going on a big adventure to stop some badies, it seemed like his confidence was pulling through just a bit.

Maybe now would be the time to see if it was true; to hold ones hand out and reveal the keyblade. This would leave one to wonder if the keyblade chose it's owner, and Jase had that question in the back of his mind, but did not bother asking. Holding his right hand out he waited to see what would happen, if anything would happen. Nothing did, but before he lost hope he remembered something. 'Timbers were destroyed by happy memories, or thoughts'. So if he could think of a happy thought then maybe the keyblade would appear, closing his eyes he conjured up many things that brought him happiness. It wasn't easy at first, then he thought of something he loved doing back at home. Surfing. That was one of his elements, it brought him close to the sea and made him feel more alive. Just then a bright green glow lit up in front of him and he opened his eyes to see....The Keyblade. Bright, shiny, colorful as he remembered, but something about it had him question why did it let him find it? Who did it belong to previously.

"Ha! Sweet!" Jase held it out in front of him and studied it's magnificent designs, every detail that was placed into it. "Just as I remembered...awesome!" he grinned and swung it out in front of him "Okay, so as long as we carry these keyblades we'll be unstoppable! All we have to do is think happy thoughts and we win!"
