Mobpeace's Characters
1. Jack Bouman

So. Here we are. After reading and skimming over many of the character profiles of others, I have decided to whip up some of my own. I'd love feedback on any of my creations; to those who read this. Also, be forewarned, when creating profiles, I typically take a step back and examine them as characters, not living things. Hence categories such as 'Character Concept', and so on.

Jack Bouman

(Special thanks to ~Key~ for the awesome picture.)

-Concept:
The original concept for Jack Bouman was rather simple. A thoroughly apathetic, if not slightly sadistic, hitman who easily committed heinous crimes for varying criminal syndicates. Eventually, his recklessness towards whom he killed, and the high demand for his work in an indiscriminate urbanized city transformed into his own downfall. He was originally meant to be the star of a grimy and violent series of short stories.

However, as I continued to toy with the plots, and receive feedback, people wanted to know more about who Jack was. This resulted in the creation of Jack's background, history, and emotional identity as an orphan who, after a fistful of minor, socially crippling events in his youth, detached himself from society.

-Appearance:
Jack Bouman is a tall, and muscular man. Standing easily a half-head above most others of his age and gender, and having the wirey, knotting veins -- and smooth muscles -- of a bodybuilder, he is rather intimidating in demeanor and stance. His skin is lightly tanned, and covered with the occasional scar of combat. Scars derived from blades, and a few bullet-wounds even decorate his body -- though the latter are almost always concealed by clothing.

His red hair and green eyes give connotation to an Irish heritage. He has a bit of a beard on the very outer edge of his powerful jaw, and his sideburns stretch far down the side of his face. His facial features, hair, and the general, almost rounded, close-to-the-face shape of his nose, give him an appearance that reminds most people of a lion.

In the picture shown above, he is wearing a cast; due to his leg breaking in one of my favorite stories of his.

-Variations:
As soon as I finished the first short story with Jack in it, I knew he was a character I planned on bringing into various other stories and situations. I was a bit unsure of how to incorporate his previous experiences into future ones. So, I didn't. Thus, began my first experimenting with having the same basic character in multiple different stories, completely separate from one another.

A by-product of this is that Jack has taken on many professions, and many enemies. He's stayed true to his job as an assassin until the death. He has also been a police officer, and an operative for an underground variant on the F.B.I. specialized in recruiting criminals.

-Apparel:
Jack has quite a massive wardrobe, paid for in full by his blood money fortune. He seems comfortable in both casual clothes -- t-shirts, jeans, and the like -- and in much more formal attire. He possesses all manner of high-class clothing, and a plethora of rings adorn his fingers. He usually dresses with an all-around popular taste in clothes, remaining bland at worst, and above-average at best.

-Weapons and Abilities:
As a professional killer, Jack has an arsenal at his disposal that could easily be compared to that of a small army. Comfortable wielding just about anything from a water-gun to a bazooka, he usually prefers to bring his own weapons on each job. His skills, naturally, revolve around gunplay. He is quick, adept, and accurate when firing, and is known to be just as agile and lithe when on the run from bullets.

Pretty cool. I like the ideas, though why is he wearing a leg cast?

Heh. In one of the stories (although it is most certainly possible in most), he ends up having his leg broken at the hands of a mob enforcer, when he goes against the Don's decision about killing an acquaintance and associate of his.
