Earth in the near-future is populated by the human and the mythological. The populations are segregated. Things tend to stay calm and manageable, but tension always lies just beneath the surface.
The idea is a collaboration between myself and BurgundyMStone. We thought it up after watching District 9, so that may give you an idea of the roots of the RP.
You can pretty much be anyone and do anything, so long as it fits the setting and is realistic for the story. I have waited to post this thread until we had a couple of posts lined up already, to give you an idea of the state of things. As the primary story alters this state, I will make note of them and the effects will trickle down throughout human and Mythos society (such as drastic legislation, huge international news headlines, hate crimes, etc.)
We're looking for:
- Humans
Deities
Mythological creatures
Spirits
Angels/Demons
Fairytale creatures
etc
etc
So far there are five characters prepared to appear in the story:
- Adiaphora - An elemental with a very neutral and apathetic view of the mankind (as is common for mythos who are nature-based.)
Zuul - A medium for prayer between worshipers and old deities, from mostly forgotten beliefs.
Basisht - A handsome, ancient djinn (genie, derpderp), obsessive and fickle and curious.
Baeum - A literal force of natural. Highly self absorbed and neutral, and therefore apathetic.
Aath - A giant man-octopus from old folklore (fake), the father of all octopi.
I can't even begin to list the possibilities. Just remember, no almighties, no apocalypses, none of that bullshit. If you're sensitive about your religion, this may not be the RP for you as it assumes all religions are real and that all deities play games and have faults.
