The foot came round and crashed in behind Nex Addo's legs, sweeping him cleanly to the floor with a thud that collapsed a nearby building, already frail from the devastation of this raging battle. Varad grunted in frustration at being felled by such a sneaky move and spun his head round to face his opponent above him. He was lucky, to have turned his head at that moment, for he saw the blade falling towards him with the intent to behead him. Varad grinned grimly; at last, a worthy enemy.

He threw his body to the side and Nex Addo rolled with him, causing the blade to fall upon nothing except maybe the floor. While Storm was still in the momentum of his downwards swing Nex Addo placed both hands on the floor as if performing a push up, and with a mighty heave vaulted himself up on to his feet, coming up behind the Loaner A-Hav as he swung downwards with his strike. Varad acted fast, unwilling to let this opportunity be wasted. He brought his fist down in a curled fist, aiming for his opponents arched back. If the blow landed it would smash the Loaner down on to his face and from there Varad could have his fun tearing the robot apart piece by piece...

Storm nearly fell off his control platform as the blow landed on his back. Storm fell to the ground hard, and debris fell into the helmet and his windshield cracked. Not wanting to give Varad a chance to attack again, Storm summersalted forward and got to his feet. The EnemyComs was distracting him, so he switched them off. He was getting hurt, bad, and it was starting to take a toll on his own body as well as his A-Hav. Storm turned and faced Varad with anger and pain.

"You, sir, are the best fighter I have ever encountered. It will be a shame to see your skills leave this world."

Storm smiled, and made his next attack. Instead of using his sword to cut, slash, or stab, he used it as a spear. Grabbing the hilt of the sword, he threw it with all his might at the Warlord's shin, then threw the other at his chest to disable any upgrades he may have.

"Now I am unarmed, and my swords are within your reach for your disposal. I seem to be at a disadvantage here don't I?"

Turning to his left, he found a large pole that was used for some sort of communications tower, and picked it up, holding it as a claymore. Storm smiled.

"There. Much better. The next move is yours sir."

Throwing the blades had been, to Varad, a rash and impetuous move, easily predicted when Storm pulled back his arms to gather momentum for the throws. The first blade, searing forwards, was smashed into the ground at a mere raise and stamp of Nex Addo's foot. The second throw, however, found more luck in hitting home, as Varad had been so concentrated on the first strike, not expecting the Loaner to throw his second blade. However, when Nex Addo had raised its foot it had turned its body to the side in order to put force into the stamp that crushed the blade. The soaring blade crunched into the large shoulder plate, chipping the metal and glancing off to land in a pile of rubble behind Varad.

The pilot pulled himself round to face the Loaner, taking in the pole that the enemy had deigned to use as a weapon. He smirked, what a fool, such an object had not been made to attack A-Havs and the only place it could be of real power was if it struck at the head; anywhere else and it would simply shatter like glass against the superior A-Hav armour. He would show the Loaner its mistakes; then he would kill him to show him the consequences of his mistakes.

Once more the lances flicked out and shot forth explosive red beams, except this time they were not aimed at Storm. The read lasers smashed into the concrete buildings on either side of the A-Hav, causing them to erupt and shower the Loaner in a storm of concrete chunks and smoke. As the smoke engulfed Storm Varad pushed Nex forward, raising one arm above his head to defend from any blind strikes and pulling the other arm back, gaining momentum for a strike.

Nex Addo reached the Loaner in a few strides and swung the clenched fist round hard at where Varad presumed the chest to be....

---

"Copy that Captain Tara," said Terry and his jet pack flickered to life, sending him roaring up over the smouldering village. He quickly caught sight of the three remaining Loaners: one fighting a black clad giant, another taking cover from a barrage of Warlord fire, and the last one fighting fearlessly against three Warlords. He locked on to the outnumbered Loaner and soared down behind the Warlords who were throwing punch after punch at the seemingly fearless Loaner.

"I'm here to help Loaner!" he shouted in what he hoped was a friendly manner, and as if to prove his point the missile launchers on either shoulder fired simultaneously, racking the backs of the Warlords with explosions that jarred them, allowing the Loaner to quickly crush one and then deliver a kick to another’s chest. The third, who had escaped the Loaner's wrath raised a blade and prepared to slice it into the A-Hav.

Justice leapt forward and sent a volley of punched into the side of the Warlord, the bayonet-like blades on each hand slashing and stabbing into the enemy who stumbled back, dropping his sword to the floor. With a boost from his jet pack Terry pushed Justice forward in a leap and twisted round in front of the Warlord, slashing one blade through the shield view of the enemy's head. He landed on his feet and the Warlord collapsed, smoke rising from the split head. Terry nodded and turned to face the Loaner; Hammer.

"You're in a bad way! We're outnumbered 5 to 1 here! We have to get out of here before the Warlords regroup and strike hard!" said Terry, a slight pant in his breath from the exertion of the fight...

((FYI-Hammer is an NPC, he just happens to be a Loaner. There's only two exceptions. He can't die, and he can't switch armies.))

Storm was surprised as the building next to him exploded, and even more surprised to see his opponent appear from the dust and smoke. The punch was strong, but not as quick as Storm. Moving to the right just an inch or so, the hit missed his upgrade storage space by about three inches, but still ripped into one of the AC engines. The AC shut off, and Storm could already feel the heat of the desert on his skin. Sweating instantly, Storm tore off his shirt, but left himself enough time to continue his battle. The pole wasn't supposed to be used to direct damage, more like an extention of Storm's reach. Taking the staff-like weapon, he impaled a nearby tank. With all his might, he swung the staff downward, but not to hit the the Warlord. As the staff came down, the tank flew off the end of the pole, and headed twoards Varad's head. The explosion wouldn't be fatal, but it would make some of the A-Hav's essential controls almost useless.

----------

Brisingr wasn't far behind Justice. Actually, he was in front of him. The two had planned to flank the Warlords that were pummeling Hammer. Though Brisingr was slower than Justice, he was a hell of a lot stronger. Grabbing one of the Warlords, he threw it to the ground, and threw all of his weight onto the A-Hav. As Brisingr got back to his feet, he kicked the helmet, and the head of the A-Hav flew across the current battlefield and hit a hill in a massive explosion, a small black figure, the pilot of the Warlord, falling to the ground fast and hard. Brisingr could barley hear the satisfying crunch as he hit the ground, but he heard it none the less.

"Remember Justice, don't do to much damage. We're taking spare parts after this battle."

(Does that mean I can make Hammer talk?)

The swing was, for the most part, ineffectual, mostly because Nex Addo was so close to Storm when he swung the pole. If he had perhaps been further from the Loaner when he made the swing the tank would have almost certainly caused some serious damage to Varad's robot. Luckily he was not far away, having just gotten close enough to land a blow, and the staff smashed into Varad's shoulder, causing the tank to fly off the end and explode somewhere behind him. With a bark of laughter Nex's gauntlet closed on the staff and crushed it with ease, twisting it and then tearing off a large portion of it, leaving Storm with only a short length of pole.

Varad brought the pole round to smash into Storm's head, but this was a mere distraction, while the pole was swinging towards the Loaner's head Varad launched a strike towards Storm's underbelly, claws outstretched like some deathly skeletal hand. The strike would hopefully tear into the belly area of the A-Hav and allow Varad to wrench out all sorts of vital machinery to render his foe even more crippled. Already he had disabled one arm and caused some damage to the enemy's internal systems, as he could see from the plume of smoke and sparks rising from where his punch had fallen. If this fight continued on its current trend he would slowly but surely weather his opponent down in a battle of attrition, rendering him completely incapable of fighting any longer...

((As long as you keep the same personality I don't mind. Just remember that he's basically a meat-head that does a lot of yelling.))

Storm saw the pole being swung at his head, and ducked down. His position wasn't the best one, but it wasn't the worst. Storm grabbed the torso of the A-Hav and started to scratch and scarpe the backside of the robot. He didn't do much damage, before he heard the explosion before he was lifted off the ground by the Warlord's punch. Squriming to make Varad to lose his grip, Storm hollared into his own Communcations Grid.

"HAMMER! GET OVER HERE NOW! I DON'T PLAN ON DYING. NOT NOW!"

Grabbing his side pistol, Storm placed the barrel on Varad's shoulder and pulled the trigger. If he placed it right, and timed it right, he could blow off the entire arm. If not, Varad could at least lose some strength and control over his arm. It would be a great belief if that arm was nothing but dead-weight for Varad.

Varad suddenly found himself being pulled over into a grapnel fight on the floor, his punch and Storm's grip having toppled them both with a horrendous crash. He then became very aware of the gun being pressed into Nex Addo's shoulder and he felt the rush of battle panic fill his heart. His shoulder pads were his strongest defence, but at such close range he didn't want to test them, he couldn't allow himself to be shot at such close range or that might ruin this entire battle for him, or even get him killed.

Scant seconds before the trigger was pulled Nex Addo's hand shot upwards and pushed the gun away, the shot rang out and the bullet soared off in an unknown direction. With his hand gripping the gun he began to squeeze, hoping to crush the weapon in his gauntlet and disarm the Loaner beneath him. Then, being on top since he had fallen down on to the Loaner due to him having provided the punch that felled them both, he sought to use his position to his advantage. Varad pushed his A-Hav up into a sitting position on top of Storm's stomach and with his free hand attempted to close his claw over the Loaners head and from there crush it, ending this struggle.

---

"What the heck are you talking about Angel? We're doing just fine!" roared Hammer, completely ignoring the fact that most his brothers had been slain and that they were still heavily outnumbered. Then, before Terry could reply Hammer broke of at a run, pushing past Justice to storm of to somewhere. Terry shrugged and Justice mimicked.

"What the hell was he about?" he said with a hint of humour to his voice, directing his question at Brisingr. Another explosion rang out and this one was close. Justice walked forward and looked in the direction of the third Loaner, who had been forced out of cover in a flanking motion and had suffered an explosion to his torso.

"Shit! Come on we've got to help that-" but as he spoke the Warlords were already upon the Loaner, gouging and tearing at him. Outnumbered and surrounded the Loaner was felled and finished off by the merciless Warlords. That left only two Loaners that Terry could count; one still fighting the black giant and the other mad one who had just stormed off.

His thoughts were interrupted as the group of Warlords spotted them and let off a barrage of bullets, many of which slammed into Justice. There were far too many of them for Terry and Brisingr to take alone, he knew that much, they would have to flee and strike tactically if they were to overcome this many foes. Grabbing Brisingr, Terry hurried off behind a building to seek refuge from the enemy...

Storm laughed as the Warlord sat on top of him. It was a position he had constantly found himself in when he got into fights at school, and had a nearly fool-proof way of countering it. In one movement he lifted his legs up, then brought them up under Varad's arms, and placed his feet on his shoulders. With all his weight and strength, he pushed Varad to the ground, putting him in the sitting position. The bullet had missed Varad, but Storm threw the gun aside to avoid having another weapon of his destroyed. With one arm useless, and one hand being crushed by Varad's intense strength, Storm was left with but one option. With all his strength and speed, Storm slammed his head into Varad's chest area. If it hit, the upgrade pannel would surely be demolished. If it missed, it would at least dent the A-Hav.

In the midst of everything, he heard lound thuds getting louder and louder, then heard a burly voice in his earpiece.

"I see ya Stormie!"

Hammer was approaching the battle, which would make up for Storm's sevre damage. With Hammer's strength, and Storm's speed, it would be a perfect battle. Not to mention Hammer had suffered little to no damage on his A-Hav.

----------

Next thing Brisingr knew he was behind a building, and watched the bullets fall to the ground. Taking in his enviorment and surroundings, Brisingr decided to play a game.

"Ever been in a snowball fight?"

Without waiting for an answer, Brisingr grabbed as many tanks, helicopters, and other vehicles as he could, and threw them at the oncoming Warlords.

The titan had finally turned around and started its slow march towards the remaining warlords and their combat with the rest of the villagers. It's heavy "feet" compressed the sand beneath then into thin crust of sandstone as it walked, evidence of it's huge weight and it's monstrous size.

Owen found that it would be best to inform his warlord friends of his approach, however slow it was, so he opened a comm channel with the rest of the team sent on this hunter-killer mission. He gave his communique in a tinny voice spiked with the overpowering sound of the Nuclear Turbine Engines that hummed in the background.

This the "Titan" approaching your position, be warned of heavy weapons fire and other such problems associated with us. Owen Ramsey, out.

The mech continued it's long march, moving three miles in only ten minutes, something that was considered very good for the damn thing.

As Nex Addo was pushed into a sitting position and Storm began to head butt the Loaner had forgotten to take one thing into account. Varad had been throwing a punch when he had been on top of Storm, and that punch was still in mid swing when Storm's head flung forwards towards Nex Addo's chest, putting it in exactly the right place for the fist to strike. It was more that the Loaner moved his head into the position of the punch than anything else, but the swipe from Varad most definitely sent the head butt of course; if not crushing the head altogether.

Varad wasn't paying enough attention to find out the result of his strike anyway because two new variables in this chaotic battle had just barged into his mind. The first was a second Loaner, currently charging towards the two A-Hav's and the second was the ominous message of the Titan. With that beast on the battlefield they would surely win, but there was always the very serious question of friendly fire to be considered with the Titan...

---

"Don't attract their attention!" shouted Terry, grimacing at the lack of tactics, but it was already too late. One Warlord had been struck and knocked off his feet and his companions locked their sights on to the two Loaners. They opened fire with a barrage of automatic fire and missiles that shredded the buildings about Justice. A salvo of bullets thudded into Justice and the A-Hav lost its footing, falling to the ground with an almighty thud...

Tara's A-Hav skidded backwards as the damaged Warlord struck her back. Swinging her sword, she struck one last blow at the A-Hav and brought it to its knees. The plan was to finish this fast and leave with good parts. So Tara avoided damaging the A-Hav too much.

There were only a few more but she saw Justice slip. Crouching, Tara launched Silver Wolf up and headed in the direction of Terry. Sliding her sword back she pulled out her guns and fired back at the Warlords who were attacking Terry. Landing infront of him, before the building, she aimed at the the A-Havs joints, attempting to disarm their weapons. "Terry, are you okay?" she asked him, dodging to one side as a missile was aimed at her. "We have to get out of this spot." They were in a very vulnerable position, being driven into a corner.

Storm did fall off his control platform this time, leaving his A-Have useless for about a minute. Luckily though, Varad hadn't noticed, and Storm jumped right back on it and jumped back into battle. The message of the Titan's arrival struck fear into Storm's heart, but it didn't matter. With a squad of Angels, and Hammer at his disposal, the Titan wouldn't be all that tough.

The thuds became deafening now, and Storm looked up and saw Hammer in mid-jump. Storm rolled out of his current position and Hammer crashed down over Varad.

"Why hello friend," Hammer grabbed at Varad's torso, and made a move to lift him up off the ground and hold him upside down.

----------

Brisingr watched the missles fly and laughed.

"You two flank these asses. I'll distract 'em for now."

Running out without an answer from his comrads, Brisingr ran out.

"Oy! Warlord scum! Aim those missles over here! Let's see how well they stand up to some old-school dodgeball skills."

The Warlords didn't hesitate to fire at Brisingr, but he still had plenty of time to jump, dodge, and weave between the missles. He even had the chance to catch a missle, and throw it back at a Warlord's chest, knocking it off it's feet.

The titan was now in combat range of the battling Loner and Warlord A-HAVs, a half mile away from the dueling robots. It's stealth painted form looked rather odd against the sky, with half of it painted savanna brown, and the upper half a cherry sky blue, to match against the cloudless skies that were to be had here.

The gunner picked a Loner A-HAV at random from his HUD listing of targets, and primed the Railgun. The mech leveled it's armed in sync with his, aiming a massive cannon at a far away target.

The gunner pulled the trigger, sending a 40mm Armor Piercing round at incredibly high velocities towards the head and body of the A-HAV, in a spread pattern so that it would actually his something at this range, and if it did hit, to maximized restrikes.

Owen looked on as this happened, and then simply congratulated the gunner and laughed.

I bet they didn't see that coming... Good work, boy.

Re: Robot Wars-IC

Tips: 0.00 INK Postby ohhhhhallibaba on Tue Jul 15, 2008 1:21 am

Thunder sat in his underground office smoking a Cuban cigar. Leaning back in his chair, he puffed out a series of circular rings of smoke before putting the cigar out. Sitting back up straight in his chair, his face was lit up by the single, flickering florescent light over his desk. His hair was grey and brushed backwards to keep it out of his eyes. The scar on his right eye drew attention to that eye, even if the fake, blood red eyeball didn't. He was a retired Warlord, and had already made up his mind that he would seek revenge on, not only the Warlords, but the Angels and Loaners as well. He despised the current war. Unlike the wars he had fought, this one had no purpose. Getting to his feet, he stood at a towering 6 feet 9 inches tall.

Exiting his office, he watched the movement of his employees. The little figures moved from A-Hav to repair computer, and back to A-Hav, their clipboards in hand. Various repairs and upgrades were being made on their A-Havs since he had started his little organization. His quickly growing army, which would soon become known as The Unaccepted. They were rejected by the Warlords for being, "weak," or, "futile." They were tossed aside by the Angels for being, "violent," and, "irrational," and kicked to the curb by the Loaners for not being able to fight by themself if they needed to. None of them had families, and none of them had another place to go, but Thunder was more than greatful to accept them.

Excited footsteps echoed closer and closer to Thunder. It was the sound of black, steel-toed boots landing on the stone walkway amongst the excited movement of the other black-booted soliders below Thunder. The footsteps were loud now, and came to a stop next to Thunder. Thunder turned to his left to see a young man of about six feet tall stand before him, sweat running down his face, a small stack of papers under one arm, and a clipboard under the other.

"Sir! I think you will be very pleased to see this information!"

The small man handed Thunder the clipboard first, followed by the papers. Turning on his heel to leave, Thunder caught him before he could take a step forward.

"Wait right there solider! What do all these numbers mean?"

The man turned on his heel and smiled at Thunder.

"It means that all of our A-Havs are in battle-ready condition sir."

Thunder wasted no time dropping the readings and running into his office. This was it. This was the moment he had lived for since had been discharged from the Warlords.

"SOLIDERS! REST WELL TONIGHT! TOMORROW, WE MAKE OUR FIRST MOVE, AND INTRODUCE OUR CAUSE INTO THIS MEANINGLESS WAR!

A series of cheers and screams followed, and Thunder did something he hadn't done in a long time. He smiled. Walking over to his door, he closed it and walked back to his seat. Sitting down in his black, leather seat, he let another Cuban cigar. Leaning back in his chair, he cherished this moment. The florescent light bulb went out leaving Thunder in pitch black, but Thunder ignored it. It didn't change a thing. This was the best day of his life. This was the first step, in the uprising of The Unaccepted.

"At least now it is fair on you weaklings!" roared Varad, mocking the two Loaners that had ganged up on him. He would just have to crush them both and have double the fun doing so. Varad smirked as Hammer grasped his torso and attempted to lift him; the one thing people always told him was a disadvantage about Nex Addo was that he was too heavy, but at times like this it was most definitely an advantage.

Swinging Nex's feet upwards he placed them up against Hammer's shoulder to counter the force being put into the attempt at lifting Nex but also to prevent Hammer from escaping their vice. While he did this he quickly flicked out his laser lances and pressed them firmly against the wrists joints of either one of Hammer's arms and with absolutely no pause he fired. At point blanc range there could be no escaping such an attack. The lasers would carve right through the wrists and severe the hands from the Loaner A-Hav before him.

---

"I'm fine Captain, thanks" muttered Terry as he pulled Justice upwards, now sporting several dents and a nasty crack along his torso. He took in the three Warlords that were currently letting off a barrage against them and was relieved to see that at least now they were even.

"Come on Captain, let's flank them and end this fight!" he cried and set off at a run behind the building they had been sheltering at. With several boosts from the jet pack Terry circled the building and crouched down when the three Warlords came into view. With the amount of missiles and gunfire they were letting off Brisingr would definitely be hit, if he hadn't been already. No one, in an A-Hav or not, could dodge a bullet, and at a volley of this magnitude Terry feared Brisingr didn't have that much time left.

Lining up his missile systems mounted on either shoulder he locked on to the closest Warlord and got a precise aim on its head, which was easy to do considering the Warlord was unaware of his presence. He opened fire and the missiles burst from their pods, roaring towards the Warlord with frightening accuracy. They hit home and the Warlords head exploded in a blossom of flame.

The dead A-Hav collapsed in a plume of smoke, clouding Terry's vision of the other two. Then, without warning, a Warlord burst from the smoke and flames and charged forwards with an axe pulled back to gather momentum for the strike it was planning. Terry had no time to counter and the axe came down, smashing into Justice's shoulder and loping off his arm, which fell to the floor with a thud, quickly followed by Justice itself.

"Did you really think you could contend with the will of the Warlords?" asked the enemy A-Hav mercilessly, as he raised his axe for the killer blow. Terry watched, hopelessly as almost certain death presented itself to his unwilling brain...

Captain, the Warlord forces are taking heavy casualties!

Reported the spotter, who was keep a sharp eye out for approaching A-HAVs, and keeping tabs on the Loner A-HAVs as they fought his own forces. He gripped the handle of the Optical Magnifier, and twisted, zooming on the fighting A-HAVs. The scene came into clear focus, showing his forces were certainly not winning. He grinned as thought of it, and informed the captain of the full details.

Captain, one Loner appears to have taken out multiple Warlord A-HAVs, should we intervene?

Owen replied as fast he could to that question, as this was not going well, and he was quite jerky at this point, worried than a Loner A-HAV would aim for the legs joints of the Titan and send the whole thing tumbling down under them.

Show them we mean business.

The gunner took his que, opening fire upon Terry and his friend as they were fighting a Warlord, and send over a thousand pounds of AP shells in his general direction. The main Gatling cannon of the titan was obscured by the smoke and the flash as round after round exited it's barrel at massive speeds.

Brisingr jumped into the air as a missle flew at his feet, but was taken aback as another one hit him in the shoulder. Hitting the ground, Brisingr looked over and saw Terry in imidate danger. The axe was raised, and falling twoards his head. Jumping to his feet, Brisingr grabbed a nearby Warlord, and threw him at the one attacking Terry. As the two Warlords collided with each other, a large explosion rang out and debris fell everywhere, but Terry was safe. The axe landed a good two feet to the left of his head, but he wasn't injured.

"You owe me one now bub!"

Hammer was thrown to the ground off of Varad and blasted with a laser. Rolling over, Hammer demolished a nearby building with his weight and size. As the debris, dust, and dirt fell, it left Varad in a blind cloud of smoke. Taking his chance, Storm ran into the cloud and reached for Varad. Grabbing for the torso area in a tackling-position, Storm activated his boosters and flew into the air with, what he hoped was Varad, in his arms.

Tara leaped to the side as a missile was launched towards her. The building behind her exploded at the contact and debris flew about. Although SW (Silver Wolf) had gotten away from the flames, one of the larger pieces of debris smashed against its back sending Tara straight onto the ground. Colliding with the dirt, SW stopped only after skidding for a short distance. She pushed herself off the ground and did not have enough time to get her bearings when the enemy A-Hav ran straight towards her, knocking her down again.

Tara was pissed. This was taking too much time and the Warlords were beginning to get on her last nerve. Standing up, she held her gun up and fired at the A-Hav that was coming back towards her. SW stood perfectly still, only it's arm moving to take aim. But as the A-Hav got nearer, Tara unsheathed her sword and sliced through the unsuspecting A-Hav. Twisting her arm, she turned the blade and brought the enemy to its knees. She pulled out her blade and aimed the gun at its head. Firing, she blew the head off and stepped back to access the situation.

The Loaners and Angels were working together to rid the village of the Warlords and there was only one or two left now.

Thunder flipped on his computer and put his password into the computer. Clicking the, "AllComs," icon, he looked a series of jumping bars and lines. They were all conversations that were going on at that point and time, and Thunder at the ability to listen to them all at a time, or one. There was one downfall to this though. If he listened to all of them at once, he would be just as successfull listening to white noise. If he listened to only one line, that was the only one he could listen to until he shut down the program and restarted it. In that amount of time, he could lose vital information. Moving his cursor to the, "Communicate," icon, he double clicked and a series of options came up. Putting on his headset, he typed in a series of numbers and letters. The red message flashed to Thunder's delight.

"COMMUNICATIONS OPEN...
"PLEASE INSERT PASSWORD"

Thunder typed his password in and the message turned green.

"ACCEPTED PASSWORD"

Thunder listened to the white noise as all of it stopped. He only thought it would be fair if he warned his enemies of the oncoming attack.

----------

Storm became suddenly confused as his headset sent him a series of beeps and buzzes, then an intimidating voice came over the radio, speaking as if it was a god of some sort.

"Attention all members of all armies, prepare yourself. I am of neither Warlord nor Angel descent, and I only fight in groups. Tomorrow, we will strike. Do not doubt, do not question, simply prepare."

Another series of beeps and buzzes, and his headset returned to normal, only now there were many voices of confusion trying to figure out what was going on. Nobody knew who that was, but everyone heard it apparently, if they had their EnemyComs on or not.

These fools just didn't learn, thought Varad as he blasted Hammer away and Storm returned and tried to lift him. As the Loaner A-Hav slammed into him and attempted to lift him up Nex Addo spread its legs and dug its talons into the ground, gaining a firm footing against the upwards pull. Then, using his A-Havs weight and superior strength Varad wrapped Nex's arms around Storm and swung him up round, which was easy to do seeing as the A-Hav already had his jet pack on; Varad could just work off of that. When Storm was above Nex Addo Varad twisted his A-Hav round and punched his arms downwards, smashing Storm into the ground.

Then the transmission came.

"Attention all members of all armies, prepare yourself. I am of neither Warlord nor Angel descent, and I only fight in groups. Tomorrow, we will strike. Do not doubt, do not question, simply prepare."

Varad straightened up and played the transmission again. Who the hell was this guy and how the hell did he hope to fight three factions all by himself? Did he have A-Havs? Because that was certainly the only way to fight three A-Hav factions. This was probably some bloody trick to confuse the Warlords, thought Varad and he rounded on Storm, pointing an accusing claw at him.

"Is this some kind of cowardly trick, Loaner?" he asked, his voice low and dark, "You'll never fool the Warlords with this kind of pathetic ploy!"

---

Things were not going well for Terry at the moment, not at all. Just as he had brought Justice to its feet and tried to say thank you to Brisingr the building next to him exploded and cast Justice to the ground once more. Terry felt crushed between his chair and the safety belts he used to stop himself from being hurled out of his command post. Soon it was as though all hell was raining down upon him. Shells and explosives far too massive to come from a normal A-Hav slammed down all around him, tearing and ripping up everything in the area, causing more destruction to the village then any normal A-Hav raid could.

Once more Terry pulled his A-Hav up and once more a shell thudded into the ground beside him and sent him hurling away, flames trailing from Justice's battered body. It landed in a heap next to Tara, smoking and scorched with only one arm, looking extremely pitiful.

"Captain..." he muttered, looking up at Silver Wolf.

Then the transmission came; as though Terry didn't have enough to worry about. His mind spat up one immediate conclusion and he couldn't stop the words from tumbling from his mouth.

"Warlord trick!"
