Storm walked around the hot desert sun in his A-Hav. The gears rotated silently, but the large thuds of his feet, and deep footprints still made it easy for anyone to track him. Walking amongst the hills and the golden sand, he turned on his Enemy Communications upgrade that gave him the ability to listen to The Warlords, as well as The Angels. All was silent. Turning the upgrade off, he continued to walk around the desert. Nobody was around, and there wasn't a Loaners camp nearby, so he was left alone for another couple hours. Then he heard it. The explosions, the screams, the humming noise that an A-Hav makes when it gets started up. There was an amubsh nearby, and Storm ran in the direction of the noise to see what was going on.

A small town of innocents was being ambushed, and they only had a few A-Havs to protect themselves. The tanks and guns wouldn't do anything, not even the RPGs, only an A-Hav could hurt an A-Hav, that's what made them so unique. Through further investigation, Storm realized that it was a group of Warlords attacking the town, probally looking for new members for their ranks. All he could do was watch in horror, as the flames erupted, the explosions went off, and the innocents died. It was a horrible time on Earth, but it was still home.

((Everyone have fun! I've got an idea for a plot, and I'll post it in the OOC thread once this thing really takes off.))

"Ha ha ha!" laughed Alexander in utmost glee. His A-Hav stood towering over the village, amongst the flaming huts and houses. Of course, he preferred battles aganist skilled opponents, but even Lieutenants needed an easy win now and again. Looking back at the rubble beneath him, he openned his steel wings, using them to dig and slice into the ground, creating two lenghty fissures in the ground. Buildings split as he did, people ran, and the futile artillary weapons, such as turrets and tanks, were left for the safety of their operators, as the very weapons split in two by the Lucis Ferre's razor sharp edges.

"Ain't this grand?" he chuckled over his intercom, to any Warlord in the area. "Look at them! As they scream to the heavens, where we reign supreme!"

He bellowed as his EnemyCom let out the occasional voice, ignoring them. This was fun for him, and he wasn't going to let voices interfere, if anything.
This is all we've got now
Scream until your heart stops
Never gonna regret
Watching every sunset
We'll listen for your heartbeat
| Scream your heart out. |

A malicious smile spread across Varad's face as he watched the devastation being wrought before his eyes, or rather, Nex Addo's eyes, with the images being laced on to his retinas through the red eye piece. He turned his head, looking left and right, and the sleek black helmet-like head of Nex Addo turned with it, surveying the scorched and burning village as the Warlords lay waste to it. This was turning out to be a beautifully effective raid, they had already captured many slaves and raided an A-Hav garage, taking many parts through which they would be able to build and upgrade their A-Havs.

Varad pulled his hands upwards and his robot mimicked him instantly, jerking its bulky, black arms up. With a mere thought the laser lances flicked out of their compartments in Nex's wrists and levelled with one of the sand caked buildings that was still standing. The lances pulsed and red beams seared forwards through the air with killer intent. They slammed into the cracked concrete and conjured forth a blossom of flame and debris that showered down upon the surrounding buildings and scattered military opposition. Varad grunted with satisfaction as the buildings support buckled and sent it crashing to the floor in a cloud of dust and rubble. Destruction, the only way to achieve world domination.

Then, out of the flame and smoke leapt forth a dirty white A-Hav which thudded to a halt before Nex Addo. Varad roared in laughter and it was echoed through the voice duplicator beneath the robots mouth piece, filling the air with a cruel and cold laughter. A metallic voice rang out from the village defence A-Hav in response.

"Curse you Warlord, go back to whatever pit you came from or I'll make you regret the deaths you caused here!"

Varad's grin stretched wider as the prospect of a potentially challenging adversary revealed itself. His lasers flicked away and Nex Addo's arms fell to either side in a relaxed way that would perhaps be considered unwise for a being about to enter battle. The white A-Hav took a step away, taken aback by the strange behaviour of the towering Warlord before him.

"You surrender?" the man inside asked, a glimmer of hope still audible beneath the A-Havs voice augmentation.

Varad burst into a fit of maniacal laughter this time and the white A-Hav visibly tensed, angered at being so ridiculed by his enemy. The man reached to a scabbard at his waste and pulled from it a curved blade that no man could wield.

"Fine, Warlord, you've called this upon yourself! Arm yourself!" challenged the village defender, taking up a defensive stance. Varad stopped laughing and it was his turn to be taken aback.

"Arm myself?" he said curiously, "No, no, I'm going to tear you to pieces with my bear hands!" he roared, bringing both clawed gauntlets up and clenching them in a threatening manner.

The white A-Hav let out an agitated grunt and charged forwards with the blade raised. He reached Nex Addo in a matter of mere seconds and brought the blade curving downwards at the black clad A-Hav. The blade smashed into Nex Addo's shoulder plate in a shower of sparks. Varad smirked as the blade caused no real damage to his thick armour.

"I guess this means it's my turn then," he grunted and swung a clenched fist round. It slammed into the A-Hav's side with a sickening crunch of metal and the robot stumbled away.

Varad gave it no time to recover; a mistake in battle was fatal he believed, no one should have a second chance from such stupidity. He charged forwards with thunderous steps and pounded the limping robot with hammer fall blows, each thump smashing dents into the armour, causing partings in the plates to bend open, revealing wires and mechanics within. Nex Addo rose a clawed hand and plunged it into a crack in the arm, grasping a fist full of cables and tearing them out with the hiss and crackle of electric. The white A-Havs arm exploded in a ball of flame and the robot stumbled away, a plume of smoke rising from the stub where the arm once was. Cables flailed wildly like torn tendons and liquids, fuel and water, gushed forth like blood. Varad enjoyed the ironic copy of a real flesh body but he couldn't spend all his time destroying lesser foes; there was a reason to this raid after all. He'd have to finish this quickly.

The defending A-Hav, trying to take advantage of Nex Addo's pause, launched a punch with its remaining arm. It was futile. Nex reached out and grasped the attacking fist in a crushing vice. With a quick twist and a horrific wrench the arm was torn out of its joint and lifted into the air, like some kind of grotesque prize. Then, with no mercy, Vadar brought the severed arm down and smashed it into the white A-Hav's head with the crunch of buckling metal. It was time for the finale, decided Vadar, and brought his fist round in a punch to the enemy's chest that sent the robot flying backwards to smash into a burning wreckage.

Hm, so much for a worthy adversary...

Ryan looked out toward the village on a hill overlooking the area. "Fools, they will never gain anything in this violence." He said to himself. He stood in Black Night. "Let's go help those poor people." He activated the thrusters on the bottom of his feet, and boosted toward the village, and the Warlords harrasing it. He activated the sheild on his wrist, and drew his blade. At full speed, he stabbed a Warlord in the back, the blade penetrating through both sides off the armor. He kicked it down, and stepped on the head. "Warlords, fight me." He said.

"Guwa!" screamed out a fellow Warlord, as one of the Warlord private A-Havs fell to the ground, a gaping hole in it's back. It fell to the ground with a crashing fall, prompting Alexander to turn in it's direction, his tounge licking his lips in anticipation of battle. This was what he truely lived for! Fighting! Destruction! This A-Hav was his to elliminate!

Another pair of Warlord A-havs rushed to fight the armored Loaner A-hav, only to be shoved aside by the Lucis Ferre. They didn't fall, but even if they did, it wouldn't matter. Not to Alex Adel, a lieutenant of the feared Warlords. Not to the one known among the region for his lust for battle.

"You're mine, trash!" he roared in fury, openning his wings wide and activating the thrusters from his A-Hav's feet. The chrome machine flew forward, both claws slashing forward rapidly. Within the machine's chest, Alexander furiously swung his arms. He longed for the tear of metal, for the screams of agony. For the raw expression of battle! He aimed for the arms of his opponent as he lunged, making sure to keep his wings at the ready for a counter attack.

His machine's feet ripped through the arms once the boosters ended, as he switched to the boosters within his wings. The ground split beneath him, through the flames, and the Warlord yelled in fury.

Nex Addo spun round as one of his fellow Warlords, a private, was dropped by an A-Hav that had recently joined the battle. Varad growled as he noticed that this new A-Hav looked increasingly like his own one, as did the blade in certain respects. He would just have to make it so his was that much more unique.

With a swift movement he brought his hands forward and the lasers locked on to the newly arrived A-Hav with the complex guidance systems in Nex Addo's inner computer systems. He was about to open fire when the familiar A-Hav of Alex Adel, his lieutenant soared into view and began to charge the enemy. Varad grunted his dissatisfaction at the loss of another more potentially challenging foe but lowered his arms nonetheless, the lances flicking away. He could not defy his lieutenant, not because he feared him or was less powerful than him, but because their Lord disapproved of dissention amongst the ranks, and he would not want to displease his lord.

Swallowing his pride Varad pulled his A-Hav around and charged into a gathering of regrouping military. With a powerful swing of his armoured gauntlet he crushed a tank and flattened the drivers within, relishing their deaths at his hands. He turned to see the remaining soldiers fleeing from what had been their strong point to regroup at. There could be no escape. He raised his arms and the lances flickered out, sending a barrage of beams at the fleeing men. They were consumed in violent explosions of fire and dirt and when it cleared there was nothing recognisable of them left...

Black Night raised it's arm in defence, mimicking the actions of the pilot inside. Ryan grunted with the blows to the sheild as if he were recieving them himself. "Fool, you lack strategy, relying only on your own strength." He said. "Must be a result of all those years of your so called training." He pushed the A-HAV away from himself, and readied his blade. "Let's see how you with stand this!" Ryan said. He began to swipe his blade, towards the enemy A-HAV.

"Ha! You say I lack strategy?" yelled Alex, swinging both of his wings in defense. The blade struck the guarded wings, a large gust flowing from the forceful impact. The dust picked up, and the Lucis Ferre's wings flew open, once the worst of the strike had past, allowing the A-Hav to slide back, away from the falling blade.

"That I rely on brute strength?!" he roared, darting forward with his wings once more, striking with the pointed edges of the wings. At the tip of the wings, furthest from the body, the A-Hav's anti-armor weapon appeared, the first of Lucis Ferre's total of six hidden weapons. It whipped out from the wing's underside, a pair of buzz saws (One on each wing), and immedienly began to spin. The screeching sound ripped throughout the air, and came down onto the Black Night A-Hav.

"Haha! This, fool, is the power of rage!" he screamed, waiting for the spinning blades to strike. "Rage, wrath! It is the ultimate source of power for any respectible fighter!" His voice reeked of venomous anger, not because he was taunted, but because of his true nature. His desire to win and reek havoc. He bellowed and screamed, most of which was nothing more than rants of malevolence.

"Suffer! Be gone with the wind and become one with the void!"

The looming 000006-K A-HAV cast a shadow over the village as it moved into range of it's target, a village even further off from the this one. The Titan, as it was called by it's pilots and mechanics, had weapons so powerful that firing them required to be a village away from the blast zone. It's gears groaned as the manually articulated upper chassis turned to face a village five miles away, it's aforementioned target.

The Captain, as this mech was large enough to warrant a naval rank, was Owen Ramsey, a man of few words and much action bravado. Currently, he was sitting in his Captain's chair, looking over the myriad of sensor inputs that were streaming through his HUD and the many more that were flashing across his the main display. In the blue glow of the screen, he was rapidly typing on a Command Touch-Pad with one hand, and manipulating a fine input device that controlled the movement of the titan with the other.

To Owen, who was used the the barrage of sensory data and had acquired great skills in sorting it all out from the mess, it appeared that multiple warlord and loner A-HAV's were engaged in combat, but all at distances over five miles from his position. Nothing to worry about there, and even if they is close to the massive Titan, they would be Anti-Tank and the formidable armor bands of the titan itself.

Now Owen tuned his attention to the village was supposed to be shelling into a crater. The gunner had yet to line up the sights for the main Cannon, so Owen gave him a sharp reminder. His voice was rendered rather tinny and static filled by the radio, but without it, you couldn't have heard five feet inside the cabin, thanks to the intolerable den created by the Titan's main Nuclear Turbine Engines.

Gunner, the village, now.

The gunner snapped into action, lining up his sights with the village.

Fire.

The gunner pulled the trigger, sending a mutli-kiloton warhead flying under it's own power from the main cannon, with a little boast from the gauss coils embedded in the side.

It was silence for a moment.

Then the village erupted in a great mushroom cloud, and the shockwave could be heard for miles.

Storm watched the battle take place between the new A-Hav and the Warlords that were already ransacking the village. Taking it all in, Storm activated his own headset, and called out to his fellow Loaners.

"Any Loaners in the area, there's a small group of Warlords destroying Village 12. That's Village 12. We're probally going to need Air Support here, as well as ground forces. This is Stormie, out."

His headset buzzed and beeped as someone tried to contact him back. The voice came in and rang in his ear.

"STORMIE! Where ya been bud? This is your good friend Hammer. I'll be there ASAP."

Storm smiled. Hammer was his best friend, and one of the best fighters he had ever met.

"Copy that, I'm going to do what I can in the meantime."

Advancing up a hill, Storm found a high advangtage point. Grabbing the rifle off his A-Hav's back, he aimed at one of the Warlord's head. His scope showed a series of measurments, such as distance between him and his opponent, the height of his opponent, and wind resistance from the bullet. His finger, had a firm grip on the fire button, and he waited for the right moment. Then, BANG. The sound echoed off the hills and valleys, and rang in Storm's ears. The bullet missed, and one of the Warlords turned to him. Storm had been spotted.

"Rage? Wrath? More like a fit." Said Ryan, staying calm. He backed away from the buzz saws. This guy was armed to the teeth, it seemed. He'd have to make his strategy match his oppenents. "Your not going to win any fights like that." Ryan said. "Have a taste of what a real pilot can do." He boosted around to the back of the enemy mech, and as it was turning to match him, he sped around to the again. "Getting dizzy?" The Black Night backed away, and put back its sword, and deactivated his sheild. He reached on to his back and pulled out out his laser rifle. "Let's see how you handle this." He took aim.

Storm watched the other A-Hav's agility. He had speed, strategy, and strength. Distracted, he was tackled by the Warlord that had seen him earlier. Dropping the rifle, Storm engaged the man.

"Just like the good ol' days."

Storm smiled and pulled back his right hand. Throwing a hard hook, he hit the Warlord where the jaw would be on a human being. Stumbling, his opponent grabbed a pistol and aimed at Storm. Before he even had time to pull the trigger, Storm grabbed him around the wrist, pulled him closer to himself, and with all his strength and weight, leaned into the Warlord's arm. A loud cracking noise, and sparks flew as the arm became disonected with the A-Hav.

Warlord tried catch himself, but his balance was horrible now that he lost an arm. Grabbing his pistol, Storm aimed it at the A-Hav's helmet.

"See how you like it bub."

The gun let off a crack instead of a bang when the trigger was pulled, and the helmet went up in flames. Storm watched as a small, flaming figure fell from the helmet, obviously the pilot. The man fell behind his own A-Hav, and his robot fell on top of him.

"Ouch," Storm said aloud to himself. Grabbing his rifle, he turned and faced the battle that was going on and got another Warlord in his scope.

Three bangs went off as Storm took off an arm, a leg, and finally the helmet. A large explosion erupted as the moving skyscraper fell to the ground.

"Fool! To believe that, even for a moment, that you could out manuver me!?" screamed Alexander into the communications device. His machine was built for speed, for agility. And he didn't intend on losing in that aspect. The Lucis Ferre sheathed the two buzzsaws, and slashed forward with his two claws. He took no heed to the rifle aimed at his own A-Hav, and rushed in a straight bee-line attack at the knight-like fighter, one of the claws directed at the deactivated sheild on it's left arm, and the other at the rifle directly.

"I didn't rise to the rank of Lieutenant because I was weak!"

The initial rush was pure running, but he accelerated using his foot thrusters and his boosters attached to the undersides of his wings. With that, the slashing A-Hav burst forward, a cobalt luster flaring behind him as he made a mad dash towards the opponent.

Beneath his rants of anger, his mind raced. How could he defeat this one? A simple dash aganist a rifle wouldn't do too well. After all, running into the blasts head-on would risk a fatal hit, and he couldn't allow that.

The Lucis Ferre's wings folded over his body, but he still raced forwards. No matter how strong the armor, a salvo of lazer shots would seriously damage his wings, and possibly damage his buzzsaws and the blades on the underside.

Storm smiled as he heard nearby thrusters. Hammer had arrived, and brought a few friends along with him. Seeing Storm, they all caught up with him and decided to devise a plan. Hammer interupted with a, "Screw this. Let's go kill some Warlord Trash!" and without another word, Hammer took off and jumped into the air.

"WARLORDS! MY NAME IS HAMMER! REMEMBER IT, FOR IT WILL BE ENGRAVED IN YOUR GRAVESTONES!"

He took off into the village and Storm heard a series of explosions and crashes. Looking at his fellow Loaners, Storm finallly revealed himself. Grabbing his sword from his waist, he advanced and sliced through two Warlords in one swift move. His group of five followed quickly, fighting the Warlords fast and strong.

Nex Addo span round as the six Loaners charged into the village, crashing into a ferocious melee with the Warlord Privates. Now this was more like it, this was a challenge! A chance to show these pathetic Loaners what a true warrior was! With a roar of 'blood' lust Varad charged his A-Hav forwards towards a Loaner who was currently tackling a Warlord. The private was cast to the ground with a deafening crash and the Loaner A-Hav pulled an axe from his back and raised it above his head to deal a fatal blow to the felled enemy, but Nex was faster. The black robot was already in front of the fallen Warlord private when the axe fell, but Nex feared no weapon. Darting forwards Varad brought his A-Hav under the range of the falling axe and with one quick thrust grabbed the metal shaft of the axe, jarring its progress downwards.

"Coward! Fight a real enemy!" he cried, and a laser lance flicked out of the wrist of the hand currently gripping the axe. It fired without hesitation, splitting the axe in two and causing the axe head and half of the shaft to fall harmlessly to the floor; well, not so harmlessly to the remains of the building it crushed.

The Loaner acted quickly and threw a punch with his free hand at Nex, who simply raised his arm in a defensive movement over that side of his head. The punch fell upon the armoured shoulder pad as Varad had planned and the pilot relished the crunching sound that the robots fist made on such an impact with the thick shoulder pad; it was the equivalent of a human punching a brick wall. As the Loaner recoiled from the hit Varad jerked the remaining half of the axe shaft out of its hand and swung it downwards, smashing it into the head, which buckled under the blow but didn't collapse completely; so Varad struck again and again in a fury of swings that, with all inevitability, eventually caused the head to be smashed inwards, crushing the pilot within under much metal and machinery.

By the time the defeated Loaner A-Hav had finished swaying and collapsed to the floor with a thunderous quake Varad had already trained Nex Addo's sights on another target. A large red and yellow Loaner A-Hav who was holding off a pair of Warlords with a barrage of missiles from two pads where its hands would have been. Taking up aim with Nex Addo's laser lances Varad locked on target with the enemy A-Hav's missile launchers and fired; two beams travelling for two targets. They flew true and hit home with volatile explosions and a rain of stray missiles; most of which rocketed backwards and struck their owner, battering him backwards until he collapsed into a smoking heap. The two Warlords who had been cowering from the missile salvo only a moment before charged forwards and fell upon the Loaner, tearing it apart limb by limb before finally tearing open the head and crushing the pilot within.

Varad grinned at the destruction when suddenly an explosion so loud it shook the very ground erupted from somewhere behind him. The pilot guessed he should have become aware of the looming Warlord when it had arrived, but he had been too emerged in the battle to take notice. He looked from the Titan to the tale-tell mushroom cloud on the horizon that revealed the use of warheads. Varad wondered if the Lord had sanctioned the annihilation of an entire village; and then realised he didn't really care, all it meant was one less village of pathetic opposition to take care of.

Turning back to the four remaining Loaners and grinned; now where was he?

"Wayne, report," Tara communicated with her team member.

"It's a damn mess down here. Loaners are involved."

Tara took a moment to digest the information. Warlords had attacked the village and destruction had ensued. Wayne together with Hira had managed to clear a small section of the village without garnering too much attention but now that the Loaners were involved, the situation was getting sticky.

"Captain....captain..." Tara came out of her thoughts and Wayne calling for an order.

"Get in," she commanded. Wayne and Hira entered the scene first while Tara and Kyle came in from the point overlooking the village. "Get the Warlords. Work with the Loaners." Tara was more focused on getting the innocent people out of the place. Landing on the ground below, she unsheathed her sword and ran straight for one of the A- Havs from the Warlords. Attacking from behind, she brought the sword down onto its back. Pulling away her black blade, she stepped back as the A- Hav turned to attack her. Her own A-Hav raised it's arm in defence.

Storm watched one Loaner get torn to bits, and felt remorse for getting them involved in this. He should've just left the village be, but he didn't. Why did he have to see justice done? Why did he have to hate Warlords so much? Charging a Warlord, Storm threw a punch to its, "ribs," and cringed at the griding sound of gears and metal. Not to mention the sparks that came as a result from the grinding. Grabbing the Warlord by the head, he smashed it over his knee, and threw him to the ground. As the large A-Hav fell down, he curb-stomped the head and it burst into flames. Turning around to find a new opponent, a fist connected with the side of his helmet and he stumbled. The Warlord landed a series of blows to various parts of Storm's A-Hav, and Storm fell to the ground.

"Tooth for a tooth, eye for an eye," spoke the Warlord in anger. As the Warlord made the motion to curb-stomp Storm, it was tackled suddenly. Hammer threw a series of kicks and punches and towered over the Warlord.

"I think I like that motto. I'll put that one on your grave too."

Hammer grabbed a pistol from his side and blasted the Warlord in the face. Leaving Storm to fend for himself, Hammer kept fighting other A-Havs.

Storm got to his feet, and leapt into the air as high as he could. In the middle of the jump he turned on his boosters, and let them run for about thirty seconds. He was now a good five stories in the air, so he shut the boosters off and let gravity take care of the rest. As Storm hit the ground, the ground shook and a number of A-Havs fell to the ground. Storm stood to his full height, and pulled out his two blades from his waist.

"Anyone who is still on their feet may do battle with me if they so choose!"

"I think I'll take that challenge scum!" roared Varad, pointing a clawed finger at Storm. He looked back to the third Loaner he was currently gripping by the neck and if he could, he would have spat at the A-Hav. This was no worthy opponent. He squeezed and the neck of the dangling Loaner was crushed, causing the head to explode in a violent expulsion of flames, frying the pilot within.

So far he had caused the destruction of three of these pathetic Loaners, leaving three remaining, and none of them had proven a worthy enough adversary for him to even enjoy killing. Perhaps this bold one before him was worth the effort of killing. He strode forwards until he was he was standing across from the challenger.

"Are you ready to die then, Loaner?" he taunted, relishing the anticipation and tension that would make the coming battle so much more delicious.

Then, without hesitation and with the hopeful element of surprise he raised his lower arms and the lances flicked out, sending two beams of red death towards the A-Hav before him. He hadn't bothered using any lock-on’s but at this range with such a large target it was highly unlikely that the beams would miss. Travelling at the speed of light and with near point-blank range Varad hardly believed the Loaner could do much to avoid being hit; and if he was hit it would be devastating....

"I'm ready to die if you're ready to go with me."

There was only one thing that Storm could do as the beams flew at him, and he did just that. As he heard the beams eject after him, he threw his body to the ground with a large crashing noise with a few explosions of random cars of buildings. One of the beams clipped Storm's right arm, leaving it useless. Storm was at a disadvantage laying on his side, but also an advantage. With one quick movement, he kicked his feet at the Warlord's feet to sweep his feet out from underneath him. In that same movement, Storm got to his feet and slashed down at the side of the A-Hav's head. From Storm's position and speed, it would've been difficult for the Warlord to see the move, but not impossible. If he did see the move though, Storm had never met anyone that had enough speed to jump over his feet and not fall. The attack with the sword though, was very easy to see, giving the enemy plenty of time to block, evade, or parry the attack. Hopefully the attack would hit though. If not the head, somewhere that would do some kind of damage. During the attack, he flipped on his Enemy Coms at just the right time.

"This is Angel squad 25 leader. We're heading to the village now."
"Well get going! Make sure that there's plenty of parts for us to use."
"Copy that."
"Get there soon! There's enough Warlords as well as Loaners there to put us ahead as far as numbers go."

Storm listened in awe. If the Angels had information about the number of members in the two opposing armies, what other kind of information could they have?
