Introduction

Image

"In the distant future the influence of humanity is stretched throughout the stars, where dozens of systems make up the loose comglomerate known as the Allied Colonies. Seventy-nine years ago a civil war spread through the Colonies and tore them apart, scattering the remnants of humanity throughout space. In a war that has expanded to engulf every system in known space, entire generations have been sacraficed. All those who witnssed the first terrifying shots of the war have long since perished and now no-one knows how, or why, it began. They fight persists though, and every year sees humanity grow more desperate as they struggle not only to end the war, but to come to terms with what it has cost them.

Weakened and demoralised the remnants of the Allied Colonies launched a desperate mission deep into enemy territory in a last-ditch attempt to bring an end to the war. Only a skeletal defence forced remained behind to protect the worlds still within Colonial borders; every other military-class vessel was ordered to make the jump to the Oberu System to strike at the main enemy flotilla and oust the government in place there. Casulties where high and more lives were lost in a single battle than had been lost in many years of conflict, but, victory was theres. The enemy flotilla, caught off-guard, had been annihilated and the Allied Colonies had snatched a chance of ending the war from the jaws of defeat. Though few believe it, there may finally be an opportunity to re-unite the scattered systems of humanity and reclaim the honour of their ancestors.

Battered, bruisers but victories the Colonial Second Fleet is set to return to friendly space for maintenance and repairs whilst Colonial Fleet One remains behind to ensure order in the turbulent aftermath of the battle. ACV Decistor is a battleship assigned to the triumphant Second Fleet. The ship took extensive damage during the battle and is making the final preparations to jump back to Colonial space. Aboard the crew are celebrating what they believe is an end to a war that has been waged ever since they were born. Celebration is to be short-lived. When the ship exists Jump they find that they are alone. Stranded, the Decistor is to discover that they have jumped beyond the Yellow Box and into uncharted space.

This story will follow the crew of the Decistor as they are faced with an impossible situation. One that will test their resolve, and push them to limits far exceeding what they were trained for."

The Setting

This roleplay is going to be a realistic roleplay set in the future, where humanity has discovered interstellar travel and has colonised numerous systems across the galaxy. This collection of human systems is formally known as the 'Allied Colonies' but has been embroiled in a bitter war lasting for almost eight decades. Whilst this story will follow the crew of a single ship in this universe, it is my hope that the players can create a backstory on which our saga can unravel. This roleplay will focus on the characters. Whilst there will be events that drive the story forwards on its path, almost everything that happens will be a result of the crews actions. I want this story to not be about battles, weapons and violence but instead to focus on the people. The story is going to contain those elements but they should not be its focus. The people involved during them should be. This roleplay will hopefully utilize both chat and forum roleplay, making the best possible use of both tools. Main plot events, significant character interactions and the like will all begin with forum-style posts. Forum posts may also be used if multiple players collaberate within a Pad or if they prefer this method of roleplaying over others. Chat roleplay can be used for everything else if a player wishes it. For crew interactions, everyday events and personal sub-plots I think chat will be a great tool. It's quick and easy to use, and players can dive in at any time and bump into other characters, or to play the fallout from major plot-lines once forum-posts are no longer required. Because a lot of this roleplay is going to be about the people aboard, rather than the situation outside the ship, I think this fast-paced, dynamic style is what is really going to give us the depth and creativity we'll need to portray life on this ship. Once any forum-post, collaberative post or chat scene is completed it should be sent to myself (or a GM if one is chosen) who will then turn each 'scene' into a single post to be logged in an IC thread acting as an archive, which can be read fluently and concisely. I think this will prevent people loosing track of major events or plots in the Activity thread whilst people are doing large chat-scenes.
Finally. Preference is the main factor here. Aside from major plot elements happening initially in the forums, people may play in whatever format best suits them.

As mentioned previously, the players in this roleplay are going to have opportunity to shape the universe in which this roleplay is set. The crew of the Decistor are going to be made up of people from all over the Allied Colonies. It is my intention that players get to create the Colony from which their character comes. No real detail is needed at first but as the story progresses these back-stories can interweave and provide texture for the characters. Whilst the Allied Colonies will share one government and federal law, each colony will differ in things such as culture and local tradition, and local law. Despite being military, as time passes these differences or similarities are going to become focal points around which the crew interact.

The ship on which the roleplay will be taking part is a military-class vessel, and as such the vast majority of the perosnnel aboard should be military in nature. Civillians will be allowed but only if they have legitimate reasons for being aboard such a vessel during a major fleet engagment in enemy territories. Maintenance crew, crew cooks and the like can be classed 'civillian' in nature, but will be enlisted in the military in some degree. With this in mind, submitted characters may come from any part of the ships crew and may be of any reasonable rank for their station, and the roleplays parameters (we can't have fifty Captains, for example!).

The Mood

The origin of the war has been lost to time. The opening shots of the conflict were sudden, unexpected and devastating; no official declaration of war, or acknowledgement of the causes was ever released in the media. Media outlets could circulate only speculation - different stories, pictures and videos collected from all over former Colonial space. The result was to create a convulted picture in which many details openly contradicted one another. The length of the war has caused whatever truth once existed to be lost to myth and story; the survivors of those first days have been embroiled in bitter war for generations, with neither side knowing for sure that they are in the right, that they didn't start this war. With stories changing from person to person, system to system and planet to planet the people engufled in this interstellar war are as lost as the Decistor; they are confused, scared. They cling only to patriatism because the alternative is to admit that they, not their enemies, might be the criminals.

This should help get an idea of the people who are going to be on this ship. From birth to this moment in time all they have known is a world at war. Their fathers, and their fathers before them have lived through this war and likely died in it. Attitudes have been corrupted, morality brought into question. Deaths are so frequent that the manufacturing of ships has become shoddy just to make up for the speed at which they are likely to be destroyed. Soldiers don't last long, and yet they have no choice but to simply get on with their tasks. They are in a hopeless situation; when a war has lasted for almost eight decades, most have given up expecting to see the end in their own lifetime.

Battleships are the largest military class vessel in this roleplay. They are huge, bulky vessels that can soak up enourmous amounts of damage whilst at the same time dealing huge amounts in return. The cost of this battle prowess is a much slower propulsion system and more limited maneuvering capabilities. As such battleships are often used as hubs around which lighter vessels co-ordinate fleet movements. Whilst this support role is what they were designed for, desperation in recent years of the battle has seen commanding officers move battleships ever closer to the enemy in an effort to simply out-punch the opposing fleet with their superior firepower. This is an example of a deeper rift frowing in the military. This rift is one that seperates those whom push for ever increasing levels of extreme action in order to end the war quickly, at any cost versus those whom are attempting to hold on to the ideals the Colonial Fleet held before the conflict began, however outdated. The Decistor, as a battleship, will be caught in this debate, and its crew should be split on both sides with this affecting the journey home.

Relations between the military and the civillian government are strained. Many soldiers believe that the government holds knowledge of why the war began (which the government refute strongly) and are suspicious and angry. Disicpline and honour have thus far stopped much from happening in regards to this, and the governments reliance on the military for survival has stopped major sanctions. Even so the situation has grown tense. Government officials rarely step aboard military vessels, and authorized shore leave for crew aboard fleet vessels has become so scarce as to have been practicallly abolished.

Religion will follow the common religions in our own, real life world. However, atheism will be the much more accepted choice publically and privately. Religion, since the exploration of the stars, has began to die out rapidly and is seen as an outdated, and often foolish, choice. Even so, religion is still tolerated and whilst backhandedly mocked, never openly attacked. In fact, in recent years many fleet soldiers have turned towards religious belief systems to help keep faith that the war will end.

Character Creation

All characters will require approval, but their is no specific design on how to create them. As you have complete freedom to create your own home colony, your back-story can be as varied and detailed as you want it to be. I'm not a fan of telling all in character profiles and so any information you wish to remain secret can be omitted from the public profile. It may also be kept from me with the only exception being that is is something (or becomes something) which could affect the ship, or the roleplay, as an entirety. I trust you to exercise this discretion honestly. These details can be PM'd to me personally, to maintain secrecy from other players.

Toggle Rules

1. The GM reserves the right to make any changes seen fit in the best interests of the roleplay.
2. If a player wishes to leave the game, control of their character is passed to the GM until all relevant plotlines involving this character reach completion.
3. Players of any ability are welcome, so long as you always put in your best.
4. Follow all standard Gateway rules.

The Colonial Fleet, Oberu System.
07:42am

Wreckage. Debris floated aimlessly through space, carried either by the force of the explosion that had rent it from hull or by the gravity of the planets orbiting the systems sun. Obscured within the twisted graveyard of metal a few ships struggled desperately to stabilize their systems, clinging to life as their ship failed around them. Wounded vessels collided with one another sending out fresh flashes of light and scattering the debris even further afield. The destruction of the fleet had created a ring-like field that hung around the systems largest planet, obscuring the verdant blue-and-green mosaic behind the grey-silver mesh that had been its last hope. Two dozen battered ships still lingered before the debris field but their hulls were riddled with holes and what crew remained alive would be struggling to salvage their systems. The survivors were in no fit shape to fight.

The Colonial Fleet hung in the void of space before them, equally as bruised. Hundreds of ships had formed the formation that had exited jump space and caught their enemies off guard. Now huge gaps had been punched through the fleet, smatterings of metal the only indication that ships had once filled them. Perhaps a third of the ships that had assaulted the system still survived, few of them still capable of a firefight. Those ships too wounded to match pace split off and formed their on sub-division at the edge of the system whilst shuttles scurried from the Auxileries and tried to patch the worst damage; dubbed the Second Fleet. The First Fleet took the lead, chugging forwards in four sub-formations.

Ordered to jump for home as soon as every ship had engines back online, the men and women aboard The Second Fleet were celebrating their victory. After decades of terrible fighting across dozens of systems, in which many had lost friends and family alike, victory had seemed a thin hope, clasped for only by the desperate or foolish. Few had truly believed the attack would work; most believed it would be another useless massacre. The end had not been far from this; the battered Colonial's had maintained just enough functioning ships to claim success. Consisting of five heavily damage sub-formations the Second Fleet painted a stark picture of the battles costs. Jubilant though the fleet may be, no ship had passed the battle unscathed. Friends had died, and many would find that after the euphoric atmosphere settled they would be left staring at a hollow win.

ACV Decistor was attached to the Second Fleet. The large Liberty-Class Battleship had been suffered enough damage during the assault to rule it out of action until it received proper repairs at a shipyard. Whilst the final few dregs of the Second fixed their jump-drives to return home, the Decistor had her own problems on which to focus.

Cassin leaned back in his chair as the reports continued to update on the screen before him. The last system update was a decent upswing from the regular system fail notifications that had come across his desk. The Decistor was still able to move under her own power, which was more than many of the ships in the second fleet could claim. His biggest fear was whether the ship could handle a jump without coming apart at the seams. Well over half of the ship had sustained hull damage. They had entire sectors sealed off from the vacuum of space, the last integrity report estimated the system at 71%, a 5% drop from two hours prior.

The ship would need dry dock to be repaired.

Cassin knew the chances of the ship ever seeing repairs was slim to none. It had been taken out of holding and hastily rebuilt for it's current assignment, well past it's decommission age. The majority of the second fleet would serve their last days as transports before they were salvaged and the Decistor would be little exception despite it's history.

Reaching forward the captain brought up the inter-ship communications panel. "Master Chief Williams, authorize power grid repairs, internal systems hold priority. I want cold storage back up as soon as possible, I'd rather not starve to death while the fleet limps back to local command."

"Aye aye Captain. We should be able to get it back up before we exit the first jump leg." the voice of his engineering Chief replied quickly. The engineering team had proven that they were beyond competent, considering the condition of the ship they had been given they had kept it running in top condition. The rest of the crew had performed just as admirably, with the various unavoidable rough spots on the roster. The rest of the voyage would be uneventful enough for most of them.

Switching over to ship wide Cassin took a breath. "Crew of the ACV Decistor. In the last hours you have served admirably in the face of what many called impossible odds. You were assigned to a ship that has already seen it's decommission date, one of the few that survived long enough to do so. In the last hours you have done the name of the Decistor a justice, as a ship that survived it's time in the war, it can now claim the feat of returning to active condition and surviving one of the greatest space battles of the war. By doing this you have also written her legend the honor of seeing the end of the war among the stars."

Cassin paused, he was proud of the legacy that he had been allowed to share a part in, and he knew the crew was as well.

"We have suffered great loss, but also great victory. Take heart for the days ahead, they have been left to you so that you might live for those who died in bringing us this victory. When we set out we where but messengers in an eternal conflict, we return now harbingers of an age of peace. Today we can begin a celebration that will continue on across the stars."

Cassin switched to the bridge com as he looked back toward his damage reports. The hull integrity numbers had dropped 1% before the final report came in at 70%. They could chance making the jump or wait, but with no hope of repair he would only be delaying the risks.

"Helmsman. Dial us in with the sub-group. Set jump for rally 113."

"Dialed in sir, jump on your order."

"Make the jump."

---

The Desistor and the ships in her sub-group seemed to distort for a moment before flashing out of sight. The combined force exerted in that moment would have shattered a planet if they had jumped in atmosphere, but for those ships still in the sector there was nothing. There was no evidence that the ships had jumped save the pieces and parts left behind floating in the debris field.

A fighter pilot flew in range of the dock, and silver tethers like coiled, metal tentacles rose up and hauled it in. The pilot, a young man with brown hair in a mohawk, sighed with relief and waited until the fighter was safely on the dock. He opened the door carefully, and a medic helped him out of the fighter and into a wheelchair. Travis inhaled sharply through his teeth, and beamed a smile. He was glad to be on the solid deck again. The man who was piloting his wheelchair spoke.

“Finally. Can’t wait to go home.”

Travis looked up, and shrugged. “Yeah, I would, uh, like to go home, as well, and see my brother. What about you, do you have anybody waiting, for you I mean?”

“My wife,” the other man chuckled.

“Oh.”

Travis could see that he was headed to the infirmary. He knew disabled persons were held priority in the infirmary but he thought it was a little ridiculous. He was fine, just a little shaken and bruised from the impacts. He liked to think that he wasn’t, but he always had to have a check-up after missions, just to be safe.

As he was wheeled into the clean room, the sharp smell of alcohol and anispetic hit him. He crinkled his nose, and gave no resistance as he was lifted up from the chair to an examining table. He took off the shirt of his fleet uniform and stared into space as the usual check-up procedure was being performed on him. Heartbeat was still there, his reflexes were fine, yadda yadda. He just wanted some ice for his bruises and to go sleep in his cabin until they arrived.

He then wondered about his brother, Rufio, who was in the Second Fleet with him. He was on another ship, though, the ACV Liberty. Hopefully he didn’t have any problems. He found himself repeating in his head the advice Rufio had given him before he went to enlist: Don’t get to attached to your crewmates, because you never know when they’ll die, never smoke in the fighter (like you’d do that), and never let anybody get you down.

His thoughts were interrupted as a message came over the PA system, from Captain Young.

A pause.

Travis smirked, and put his shirt back on. The medic was now putting him back in his wheelchair, and presumably went to go get some ice for his bruises.

He felt the jump, then, and he felt like he was going to hurl. Well, every time the ship jumped, he always felt a little nauseous. Looks like he would have to get used to it soon, or he'd throw up everywhere.

Zus Llewelyn was usually on the main deck sitting next to the Captain, that was the customary position for the XO aboard a military vessel. This was a special moment and made for exceptions, the fleet's last ditch effort had proved effective. The victory came at a great cost though, no man knew this more than Zus. He found himself in the Decistor's chapel, one of the last these days with a devotion to his faith. The compartment had originally been another storage section of the ship, Zus retrofitted it into its current use. A few crewmen had come and gone, saying prayers for the dead or those in death's grip, the XO found himself alone in the room.

He sat at the front pew on the far side by the wall, staring at the podium where he gave sermons. Usually a good number of people would show for them, religious convictions or none, perhaps they found him entertaining. Spreading faith into the heart of his crew was a secondary mission objective, one that helped to give strength in times of trepidation. Fighter Pilot Davin Cole had been one of the few who attended all the time, a true devotee. They had shared life stories, many conversations about their faith and life. Cole had been the crewman Zus had found himself with almost as often as being with the Captain. That made his death during the battle harder to bear. It wasn't the first time he had lost a friend, and it wouldn't be the last.

The large steel cross he had erected on the far wall behind the podium was shining from the overhead lighting, giving it a divine feel as he had intended. He bowed his head in prayer. The Captain came over on the PA system, a good speaker as always. Zus waited until he was finished to begin. "Lord, I thank You for defending us in our day of battle. I ask that You continue to be our safeguard against the wickedness and snares of all that is evil. Cast into hell all those who prowl through the world, seeking the ruin of souls. Let the words of my mouth and the thought of my heart find favor before You, Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer." He pulled the flask of liquor out of his pocket, a mixture of liquids known as an alcohol iced tea, and poured the drink into his mouth. The orange and lemon soared through his mouth, followed with a short bitter aftertaste of the strong liquor. Zus flipped the cap back on, moderation was key.

He sat in silence.

Smoke spat in irregular bursts from one of the fighter's right side thrusters as 1st Lt. Cabrice Venner guided it towards his designated docking bay. Every now and then the craft jolted fiercely but years of training and razor-sharp reflexes prevented it causing much in the way of problems. It had been the most brutal assault in recorded history and the Captain of the Decistor's Fighter Pilots was just coming down from his adrenaline rush. It had left him exhausted, drained physically and emotionally. He had witnessed good pilots, good people, dying en masse for a united cause. It left him with a mingled feeling of pride, loss and unimaginable hate for his enemies. Few knew it but Lt. Venner cared deeply for each and every one of his team and today he had seen many of them obliterated and scattered to the stars in the line of duty. It took it's toll but he never let it show, never wavered in appearance and never admitted the hurt he felt.

"You are cleared for landing Liutenant, bring her in steady. Maintenance and medics are waiting for you."

The voice over his intercom snapped the stern man away from his thoughts, returned him to the officer with a facade of steel in a nanosecond. He pressed a button, correcting another jolt with one hand as he did.

"Tell them to clear out, the medics are needed elsewhere and repairs can wait until we get home." There was no arguing with his tone.

So, no more than 30 seconds later, he landed his fighter and stepped out into the pandemonium that was the hangar. People sprinted every which way, carrying equipment, documents and even other human beings. A rogue medic ran over to him and attempted to examine him.

"Sir, let me look at-" He was cut abruptly short.

"There's plenty to look at everywhere else son. Go do your job." It was then, as the final remnants of battle fury ebbed out of his veins, that he felt a warm trickle down the right side of his face. After watching the medic scurry away with a hurried salute he pressed his hand to the location of the sensation and looked at it. There was blood on his fingers, quite a lot of it. He traced the trail up and located a gash just below his hairline which he had been previously oblivious to. Mind working far above the level of efficiency he felt, Venner remembered taking the hit near the end of the battle. An engine had taken the brunt of the round but the shudder it caused had whipped his head forward into the path of an exploding monitor. A minor wound and certainly not his worst. He would attend to the injury himself in time.

Reports flowed thick and fast and no one seemed to know the exact number of casualties but one thing was clear: Many lives had been lost, including a substantial chunk of his pilots. A few emergency landings had been made and Venner studied the debris littering the floor of the hangar as he heard the Captain's announcement. He was moved by the words, as he imagined every man and woman aboard would be, but he appeared emotionless as he listened and chose instead to set about doing his own job. He needed a definite list of pilot casualties, so he grabbed a passing engineer and sent him to find the information. Next, he needed to check on his pilots. The destination was clear with all the chaos, he headed in the direction of the infirmary.

On his way there the ship jumped, not even causing him to break stride as he walked. Having been through this process enough times by now he hardly even noticed when the Decistor began to warp space-time around itself, it was just another way of travelling and one which had long since lost it's overwhelming wonder.

When Lt. Venner reached the infirmary he proceeded not directly to those being treated but instead to the medical staff who could help him get through this task as swiftly as possible. He still had to start his report of the battle for the Captain.

"It's time," spoke Emile. A short middle aged man with grey hair, Emile was a veteran of the art of cooking. The way he used Velerian spices was unparalleled. Not an achievement anyone could gloat about, but still.

"Why now?," asked Klosse. The German-descent stood near Emile, toying with his butter knife. They stood in the main supplies office contemplating on whether to steal the bottle of Illyrian champagne the head chef had saved for himself. Another man stood near Emile.

"Just get on with it," spoke Jonas, devoid of expressions as usual. Klosse looked at Jonas and spoke, "Don't get so excited. Someone call Vladimir and ask him where the head chef is." Emile took his cell out and called Vladimir. After ten rings, Vladimir picke up, "What?"

"Where bossman?" asked Emile. "Who?" responded Vladimir, clearly sleepy. Jason tensed up, "Dude, bossman. Head chef. What are you doing?"

"Answering a person who is not allowing me to sleep," responded Vladimir and ended the call. Emile turned back to his mates slowly as the door opened and gave a weak smile. "That bastard," muttered Jonas, still devoid of emotions.

The group faced Jewls, the head chef. "What are you three doing here?"
"Uhmm... Uhh..." started Klosse...
"Well, now that you are here..."

"Man," started a happy Emile, "That champagne was the best I've ever had." The three musketeers walked happily along the central walkway of the class 2 living area. "True," spoke Jonas as he waved at his subordinate chef, Logan. The was over for them, for a while. Jonas hoped the strain of war wouldn't affect the chirpy guy; he considered Logan as his little brother.

"Man, how am I going to have that bland juice that they give us now that I have tasted the nectar of the Gods?," Klosse feigned despair.
"Which is his room?" asked Jonas. "619. I'm looking forward to this," replied Emile, a murderous glee in his eyes.

Two minutes later they reached Room 619. Each room in Class 2 housed two people. The door was open and Jonas touched it with suspicion. The door creaked open revealing a bleeding Vladimir on the ground, groaning in pain. Jonas rushed in to pick him up and Klosse and Emile supported Jonas.

"What happened?!" shouted Emile anxiously.
"Don't know. Kloasse, get a doctor quickly" spoke Jonas immediately but Klosse was already halfway down the hallway. Emile called the ship's emergency services.

2 hours later

"How is he?" asked a concerned Klosse. Emile and Jonas stood with him facing the doctor, searching for the answer on the doctor's face. The look on the doctor's face wasn't encouraging.

"Doesn't look that good. Still unconscious. He seems to have gotten this injury during the mission when his plane was shot, but he managed to hide it," spoke the doctor while guiding them through the place, through the other patients, towards the ward where Vladimir was. Just as Emile feared, it was the ICU.

"But on the phone he sounded fine. And he was okay when we asked him to help us," said Emile nervously. The doctor turned around in surprise...

After saying his prayers in the chapel, Zus decided it would be best to make the rounds at the infirmary. Typically in this scenario the XO would take charge of the maintenance and let the Captain do the visitation, but Cassin enjoyed his work too much and left Zus with little to do at times. It allowed him to keep close relations with the crew. As he walked the rooms some of the crew began to salute him but he waived them off, standing by military formalities in time like this was unnecessary. He greeted people here and there, consoled a female ensign as someone she obviously cared for had passed away from his battle wounds. It would be nice to say he knew every member of the Decistor, but that would be a lie, the man's name tag had been burned off and he couldn't recall the face. Zus's hand found hers and he whispered a prayer only she could hear. Perhaps she wasn't religious, but she seemed to appreciate it.

Many had died in the battle, and quite a few were wounded. There were a few serious injuries; head wounds and broken limbs. There were also minor wounds as well, still important to treat. Zus passed one of medrooms, members of the kitchen staff were talking to a medical officer, Ensign Zharkov lay unconscious on the table. Further down the medbay First Lieutenant Venner was being stubborn about having a head wound treated as a nurse dabbed away at it. Venner was waving her off as if his medical needs were nothing important. The nurse stormed off, frustrated.

"Maybe you shouldn't have that treated at all Venner, it'd make for a nice scar," he chuckled. "I wanted to commend you on how you handled yourself and our fighters out there, truly a great job. I saw you and wanted to get an informal battle report of sorts." Zus gave a stern look to the Captain of the fighter pilots, a man known for never letting his emotion show, even after his former ship, the ACV Glorify, had been destroyed in battle. Different officers took their losses in different ways, the last thing the Decistor needed was someone blaming themselves for all the death that had taken place, Zus could read people well but Venner was one that continued to elude him. It naturally made him a little more interesting. The Lieutenant was an impressive man and could easily be the commanding officer of a ship someday, capable of handling any orders, though he lacked some of the charisma necessary to inspire a whole ship. As long as he kept bringing back results, his statistics would overpower any social shortcomings.

Re: ACV Decistor

Anyone hear from Vyral at all? He was on today I guess but hasn't really posted since mid-May.

Should I chalk this up to another one that fails out of the gate? If you guys are still wanting to push it I'm here.

Re: ACV Decistor

haha Travis is sort of at a stalemate now so I'm basically waiting for Vyral to post... UvU everybody do the RP limbo, see how low you can go

Re: ACV Decistor

I really don't feel like there is a need to post for Cassin right now... I can't think of anything incredibly important that wouldn't just be fluff.

Fluff sucks.

Re: ACV Decistor

I did an intro post for our interaction, we can shoot back and forth through PMs if you want to work together to compile a post that you can then post. That, or we could go back and forth, depends on how you want to do it.

Re: ACV Decistor

I'm cool with getting some character interaction on the go while we wait for GM orders. At the moment I'm in roleplay limbo; all the RP's I'm involved with are in a waiting phase. So, yes please, I haven't written anything in a fortnight!

Re: ACV Decistor

I can do whatever is needed.

We are just in down time until such time that (the GM) decides it is time for us to be separated from the fleet? I can work out some personal chit chat RP with any of you who are up to just playing around with our characters. Reply here or shoot me up with a PM, first one to get back to me gets dibs. That or 2+ of us can work an interaction out.

Re: ACV Decistor

I suppose I need to work on my follow up. I'll try to get that worked on tomorrow if I can, probably be the next day though.

Re: ACV Decistor

Something important has come up irl and I have to go out of town for some time. Unfortunately there is no internet where I'm going so I wont be online for 2-3 days. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Re: ACV Decistor

No Poopy you are completely fine, don't ride yourself on that. I completely read into it, once Vyral said edit, I easily saw in rereading your post how it could be read a completely different way. I figured that was what you meant.

So don't worry about it, this is obviously a more GM driven game instead of just straight up freeform, so we have Vyral here to redirect the ship if we go the wrong way. Write what you want and don't worry about having to overdo things just because I might get it wrong, ha!

Re: ACV Decistor

Hey look guys, someone's become a scholar.

Re: ACV Decistor

HHHHAAAAAA OH GOD I'M SO SORRY. I supposed I should've clarified that Travis is a newcomer to the field, and he hasn't been accustomed to the feeling of a jump yet. My bad.

Re: ACV Decistor

There will be plenty of horrible things to come :3

Re: ACV Decistor

It will be edited in a matter of minutes.

Knowing the ship will be stranded lead to that and a poster previous to me set it up to be a disastrous thing, just wanted the post in I promised. Looks like everyone who has actually replied is going off that notion :p .

Re: ACV Decistor

A few of you guys have written in your posts that something has gone horribly wrong during the jump. To clarify, the jump has proceeded completely as normal. Aside from the outstanding damage to the ship no more has been sustained due to the jump. The ship will be in-jump for a couple of days IC. Once they exit jump I will reveal what happens to the ship. Until then, all the characters are perfectly safe unless they were injured personally during the fighting or a damaged area of the ship breaches further.

Please edit your posts accordingly. I would appreciate a message once you have done so, so I know who I need to track down.

Thanks!

Re: ACV Decistor

Shit yes. Gonna work on my post now. I'm imagining all the pilots who are glad to be alive patting each other on the backs and promising each other a drink when they come home. I find it sort of hilarious for some reason.
I'm on summer vacation where I live, so I should have a lot of time to commit to this roleplay for now.

Re: ACV Decistor

I'm off tomorrow, going to see The Avengers in IMAX 3D. Should be able to get a post in the morning or afternoon before that though.

Re: ACV Decistor

"On a course" for their "Home system"

and of course by that he means "about to be screw-ed." :D

Re: ACV Decistor

The first post has now been added to the activity tab. All players are welcome to begin posting at their leisure. The ship is currently in jumps-space on a course set for their home system. I look forwards to seeing your stuff!

Re: ACV Decistor

As far as Pandorum goes, I don't think that this RP has much in common with it other than them both being set aboard ships. They have vastly different plots. Pandorum is good and in my bluray collection, but what I would really want to see is a movie set in the aftermath of what unfolds. Unfortunately it did not do well enough in theaters for that to happen.

And forget about a pic for the ship from me, most of the images I had saved up were for a scavenger ship RP that failed to get active a few years back, they aren't fit to represent a battle ship.

Re: ACV Decistor

Vyral wrote:The first post is underway, guys.

As I PMd, I'm talking to Chuckles now.

If I find a pic I will let you know. I may have a few stored away.
