Introduction
-The Premise-
The continent of Mythos has always been rife with conflict, but the flames of full-on war have always been kept at bay by a single man; Tiberius Septimus, "The God King". Rumored to be an immortal, survivor of multiple assassination attempts, conflicts, battles, and adventures. He united Mythos under a single banner, ushering in an age of peace that has lasted over five thousand years. Seemingly ageless, Tiberius sat the throne for all that time with hardly a challenge to his rule. He was beloved.
Now he's dead.
The God King lay slain in his throne room, literally stabbed in the back by his most trusted advisers. His blood had hardly cooled before utter war broke out across the land. The twelve regions of Mythos were at the mercy of various warlords that have long been vying for power. The vacuum of power left behind by The God King needed filling and anyone with an army and a sword was willing to make a try for it. For the first time in nearly five thousand years, chaos reigns.
-The Game-
This will be a freeform game. You can play any type of character you like, from a concubine to a soldier, all the way up to a warlord. Interact with others as you wish; lust, love, sadness, betrayal, warfare, diplomacy! The story is yours to create. Do you want to explore and see what's out there? Go for it. Want to rally the troops and try to conquer the land? Do it with sword in hand. Want to be a loyal retainer to a ruthless warlord? Yes, master! This will be a large game so there will be (hopefully) many players to interact with, many things going on, and always some new lore to either experience or develop yourself. We can make this land as detailed as we chose. If prose isn't your thing and you're thinking of warfare, we can do that too. Check below for descriptions of the land and my first character will be a basis for character sheets and the higher reaches of starting character power.
1. Crescent Cape: Site of an old kingdom, this region is dotted with plenty of ruins. Ancient keeps and castles dot the rolling hills and plentiful coast lines. Even more surprises await explorers within their depths. The Cape is one of the largest trade hubs on Mythos and it's capitol of Seahaven is a mecca for merchants and traders. The Cape's war-torn history provides a benefit in it's massive wall that blocks off any over land route save through it's massive central gate which is guarded night and day. Crescent Cape is ruled by a human lord.
2. Fovoham Plains: Fovoham and Miella Plains were once a united region called The Green Sea. Their elven rulers kept the peace with a carefully balanced council. When The God King fell, chaos erupted in the council, driving a wedge into it and splitting it firmly into two camps. Battle lines were soon drawn and the people of The Green Sea were divided, all because their leaders couldn't come to an agreement. The people of Fovoham and Miella are nomadic by nature, expert traders, horse riders, and archers. They are often called 'Sun Elves', because of their tanned skin.
3. Miella Plains: Fovoham and Miella Plains were once a united region called The Green Sea.
4. Granbriar: The mountainous north eastern region of Granbriar has always been home to the dwarves because, frankly, no other race can sustain themselves there. The mountains are harsh and have forged the dwarves into a hardy people. They have carved out a network of strongholds in and around the mountains. These strongholds can be dug so deep and so complex that some sections have lain undisturbed for hundreds of years. The mountains are rich with minerals and have provided the dwarves with some of the best weapons and armor on the continent. Granbriar is ruled by a council of the four richest dwarven families.
5. Lede: Once the seat of power of The God King himself, Lede is a perfect mixture of rolling plains, verdant meadows, and clear blue waters. It's capitol, Grandwell, is one of largest cities on Mythos. Lede is a massive trade hub and merchants from all over the continent journey to it's rich cities daily. With the death of The God King, however, the palace is in anarchy. Peace is only held within the cities and capitol by the few remaining generals brave enough to take charge.
6. Tidepool: Certainly the moistest of all the regions in Mythos, it is actually less known for it's lakes and more known for it's ley lines. Ley lines are hidden conduits of magic that run under the ground all across the planet. Many of these lines converge in Tidepool and in it's capitol city of Vos. Tidepool has more or less always existed in a sort of autonomous state. The cities, with their plentiful fish, fresh water, and easy access to magic, have been self-sustaining. The closest it has to leadership is The Mage's College, which is really the only organized body in the region.
7. The Sword Coast: "The Sword Coast" became this region's official name by default. It has long been a haven for the dregs of society; thieves, smugglers, pirates, mercenaries and the like all make their homes here. The few towns are mostly on the cost, as much of the land is dotted with thick forests. The land is more or less lawless, with individual towns being more or less ruled by the most successful or powerful merchants, thieves, or mercenary troupe. If you need anything, it can be found on The Sword Coast.
8. Westfall: Westfall is unique in it's complete lack of uniqueness. It is a simple land, an equal mixture of plain and forest. It is a place that welcomes all races and, somehow, despite a mixture of cultures (or perhaps because of it) has been relatively untouched by strife or war. Westfall is ruled by a council of representatives from each race - except for the demons.
9. Orrenstadt: The deep valleys and high peaks of Orrenstadt have long been home to creatures less welcome in polite culture. It is populated with numerous tribes. Harpies, lizard men, minotaurs, goblins, and other creatures crudely refer to as "monsters". Exiled by the more civilized and intelligent races, these forsaken creatures have made a stronghold of sorts in Orrenstadt. Were one to venture deep enough into the mountains, they might stumble upon Zu, a massive fortress city built into an ancient castle. It is here that most of the intelligent monster races make their home.
10. South Dunwhal: What was once known simply as Dunwhal has now been split in two. Much like The Green Sea, the land was quickly divided when The God King fell. Tragically, however, Dunwhal was not ruled by a council, but a single noble family. A noble house that now stands divided - one side wishes to take power and rule over Mythos, the other determined to find a way to bring The God King back. Dunwhal now wages war on itself, an endless war. Rich with gold mines, Dunwhal is the financial capital of Mythos and this wealth allows for it's ruling houses to purchase weapons from Granbriar, trade goods from The Cape, and mercenaries from The Sword Coast.
11. North Dunwhal: What was once known simply as Dunwhal has now been split in two.
12. Hiei: A peaceful stretch of coast, all cut off by the sea and a mountain pass. The lands beyond the pass are a gorgeous mixture of plain and woods, ripe with game and food. It would have surely been overtaken by one of the other regions long ago, were it not ruled by and populated entirely by demons. It's at this point that one must make known the diference between 'devils' and 'demons' in Mythos. Devils love violence and chaos for the sake of violence and chaos. They are monsters through and through. Demons are born from dark and, yes, evil magic - but they do evil and perpetuate violence for personal gain, or to get something. Thus, Hiei has long been ruled by these demons. It is, ironically, one of the most peaceful regions on Mythos. Hiei is home to one of the most formidable, well-trained armies on the continent. Though demon strength depends mainly on age, making it very hard to make up for the dead.
13. Naros: A small island off the cost of Mythos near Hiei. It is known greatly for it's two great trade cities, one which controls trade traffic from the cost of Mythos and one that receives the boats from other lands, giving it much control over any trade boats from the south or southeast. Though mainly populated by humans, there is a smaller native draconian population. Naros is controlled by two lords, one of each great city, as it is generally known that if anyone ruled both cities would have undeniable control of the island.

The Story So Far... Write a Post » as written by 7 authors
Elle, leaning against the bar, looked over towards this "ruler" curiously as the woman put her cloak over her shoulders. Her brow's furrowed in confusion at the gesture but nodded her head towards her in gratitude when the woman said, "You okay? If you have any injuries you should go to the town center, my officers know the drill and they should be preparing to help people." Then the woman whispered to her, "Oh, and don't work that magic on too many people, it'll get you killed with someone stronger willed." This rubbed Elle the wrong way. Regardless if she was a ruler or not what did it matter if she used her power or not? She was more than capable of handling herself in situations of trouble.
After she half drank the Dwarf's drink, he finally spoke to her "I can't say I wouldn't do the same." Well at least it was a bonus she didn't piss him off.
She couldn't help but smile at his comment, and chuckle softly, "At least I can cross 'Nearly drowning in a tavern' off my bucket list." She laughed softly.
It was then that the Dwarf rose from where he sat on the table, "Well, I guess it's my duty now to defend this city, you seem pretty tough. You're more than welcome to join me if you want." She sat there for a moment and contemplated after he ran off after the cat woman.
With a soft sigh, Elle stood up walking towards the door. As she walked past one of the tables she grabbed someone's ale and downed it, throwing the grog on the floor before exiting out the entrance. She slowly walked up the hill in the direction that the braver of the people headed in. She saw a tiger running up in that direction which she found odd unless they were some sort of shifter, entirely probable. Then the cat woman leader made her way up towards the person behind the flash flood, and when the woman was out of her sight, Elle heard a horn go off which she could only assumer was hers.
Taking her time as she headed up towards the epicenter of chaos, Elle reached behind her back hooking her fingers around a few throwing knives, being prepared for anything. She stood back though, watching intently as others were more likely to engage the creature than herself. She was prepared to defend herself, but also far enough away to flee if necessary.
While chasing a couple of preys he heard a horn and, within seconds, a blade made of wind impacted leaving a mark on his skin followed by a trail of blackish red blood he stopped. Basic wind magic, not strong enough to cause concern. Gram looked in the direction in which the blade came, standing there was a female with feline features and orange fur. With sword in hand and an aura of confidence that only those who fully trust their skills have. Probably the leader of the pack, sometimes happens, the leader goes to defend the weaker prey. Whether they can get enough time or not it's up to their skills, the preys has the absolute right to fight for their lives. Similarly Gram has the absolute right to devour them, he prepared for a fight.
"Hey buddy! Leave the people alone!"
Gram stopped when heard what the woman said, When was the last time someone called him in a remotely human way?. Gram has been called both Terror and Protector, but always with reverence and fear. And right now despite his appearance he was called "buddy" He could not help but laugh loudly, it was as if a child, a man and a snake were laughing at the same time, a completely unnatural voice.
As he laughed Gram realized that other prey were approaching, probably called by the horn, a growling wolf man , a dwarf, a tasty looking woman and other humans. "Gram, the name" said with the same unnatural voice before pouncing toward the cat woman, it's not as if she will be spared for making him laugh. Before coming to an attack range he stopped abruptly, the growling wolf man he had ignored before did something with his hands and for him everything went to red.
The pain and fear deeply engraved in his twisted soul, returned once again. The pain of his charred limbs, the pitifulness of having to crawl in the mud and dirt to eat every memory related to the fatidic day surfaced. Fire, his only fear and greatest enemy was present before him and threatened to finish what started decades ago. Gram jumped back and began to spit poison in large quantities.
Using the advantages of his body to the maximum, he ran, he passed over food and preys but he didn't even spare them a glance, his top priority was to get as far from the fire as possible. When he reached the wall Gram didn't bother to jump or climb, he rushed through the wooden wall, leaving behind a few drops of blood and wood chips. The aberration left the town on the hill as suddenly as it appeared. Without sleep, without stopping and without realizing it will head towards his first hunting ground. His birthplace Tiderpool.
Standing still for another moment, the veer pulled out a sturdy comb made of bone. With little pause, he pushed the comb into his fur and pushed it forward, pulling the fur back out to its rightful positions as well as removing the poison from his fur. When running into an area where his armor covered his fur, Dirsus would push the plates up and reach under to comb it.
Elle scoffed as she saw the strange creature that caused the flood run off, presumably scared when confronted by so many others perhaps? She shook her head, hooking her thumbs in her belt loops as she flipped a rock with the toe of her boot. "I have more balls than him... and I'm a woman." She brought her right hand up to run her digits through her long coral locks, "...pathetic." She mumbled more to herself than the others around her. She glanced over towards the wolf man as he began to come his mats of fur.
Seeing as how she was no longer needed, Elle decided to turn back towards the village. When walking past the woman whom had shared her cloak not a few moments prior, Elle removed the cloak, draping it over the woman's shoulder. Then with no more said, she began to descend back down the hill and into the village. She looked over towards the tavern, and although a drink sounded more than appealing at the moment, she had her fill of this strange little town. Heading towards the markets, she walked between the little tables where vendors had their goods laid out for consumers to purchase. Catching sight of a few of her crew, she curled her bottom lip into her mouth letting out a very unique and high whistle.
A few people here and there glanced in the direction of the sound, but then turned back to their affairs. But Elle's crew knew that noise, and quickly dispersed and made way towards The Thorn. It was apparent the vendors hadn't realized how a majority of the crowd was made up of Elle's crew, and quickly the market placed died down to a dull roar, with only a few dozen plaguing the area. Walking past a produce vendor, she reached her hand into a basket, grabbing a ripe apple. She brought the fruit to her lips, taking a bite as she reached into her corset, pulling out a coin and flipping it towards the seller with a grateful nod.
Once Damon had searched the city, having to save a couple children, he looked up at the sky to find the creature gone. "Well looks like I have nothing else to do in the city. Time to go to another." As he got near the gates of the city he found a goblin harassing a kid. The goblin quickly found an arrow in it's head, looking around he saw a swarm of them in an area with two carts, a half-elf and a lizard man. Nope, not my problem, I'm out. He thought to himself walking out of the gates and following the road.
In the center of town there was a stage with the elder of the town standing on it, elves with all kinds of strange looks crowded around it. Gol wanting to get a better look slammed his staff down a blue pulse going down it, he then jumped on top of it and anchored himself to it with the same blue aura that went down his staff. The Elder then cleared his throat, "As you may have heard the God King has died and now a fight for power has begun. I have decided that it is time to go out and try to ally ourselves with others so that we may defend ourselves if we ever come under attack. We need a volunteer to go out and find allies, who is willing to go?"
There was a mummer through the crowed as people talked both of who should go and about the God King. "I will go!" echoed through the crowed as they all looked at the origin of the voice to find Gilradir standing on his staff his hand raised. Sliding off and waiding through the crowd. He finally got to the stage and got up on it. "I will go sir." He said bowing at the man. The elder chuckled "Very well Golradir, you shall be our voice in the rest of the world." Gol bowed again, "Thank you elder."
As Gol walked off of the stage and out into the world he ran into his parents and master. They smiled, "Good luck Gol." his mother said hugging him. "Thank you mother." He said hugging her back then looking at his father and shaking his hand. "Make us proud Golradir." his master spoke. Gol smiled and bowed, "I will do my best master." and with that Gol walked out of the town and into the world unknown to him.
Lerst was at a loss for words when the crowd casually dispersed. Surely, this couldn't be a normal event. The veer that he didn't acknowledge he was hiding behind was combing. The woman from the bar who had lived up to his expectations was leaving for the market. Lerst looked around for a few moments and finally spoke up, sounding slightly impatient. "Well? What now?"
