Hey Northern, I looked over the history and it looks good but there are a couple of confusing details.

1. In the synopsis, you have her as a priestess in the Alliance but in the history, she was born and bred in the Empire?

2. In the description, 'Xo as platinum hair but in the history, she has dirty blond.

I was kinda waiting for Jade's character followed by a few days of turning my alarm off and going back to sleep, which has thrown off normal weekday pattern. I'll be posting in the afternoon, after I get some sleep.

And there's a post. Sorry for the delay in activity Irish, the last two weeks between finals, family events, mandatory swim team bonding crap, and the unfortunate death of my two faced bipolar car have made life a little hard to keep up with.

We appear to have hit another snag but I have a plan.

Unless Northern has something to post with James or Xo, I was thinking that Jade could have Loare chuck a spear at Maggie, have it hit her or graze her or hit near her, then we could have a little screaming (maybe a joint post between Jade and Ninja) and I post about the sailors grabbing their guns and start shooting at shadows? Then we could have Loare get wounded by a lucky shot or something and have a face to face meeting? I don't know but we do need to kick this game.

Yeah, at first I wasn't sure that Koh's post was for me to interact with (I posted Loare on the treeline outside the camp, Maggie went back to her tent) but a bit of action would be fun.

Their tent is at the tree line, but that info was in an older post, so I see why you may not have known that.

I wondered about that myself, thought about even asking Jade and Irish, but I figured for purposes of plot, it would probably just be best to role with it. Perhaps there are language barriers on both sides, words and phrases and ways of saying things each side doesn't quite understand, but they grasp enough to get the main points across to each other?

If not I can go back an edit it a bit, not quite answering the questions she's asking, but attempting to communicate quietly none the less. A spear at your back and hostile hissing is generally universal for, don't move, why are you here? I don't want you here, so there can still be a bit of understand coming from that if nothing else.

It depends on whether or not Lythari and the human-types speak the same language. Loare being a Lythari (a stranded one that's been separated for many years, but a Lythari none the less), and having been a part of that culture long enough to learn how to speak, speaks that language.

Re: [OOC] Shipwrecked

Well, I've certainly referred to the fact that individual nations within Mersia speak different languages (as James is bilingual in Elm and Vorsian) so I'd assume that the Lythari would speak something radically different again, having never been in contact with anyone from the 'Old World'. But it's something that's up to Irish, I guess. I think that having the two peoples speak different languages might make things interesting initially (although we can speed up the process of picking up each other's words for narrative's sake later on).

If that's what we want to do, I'll go back and edit my post, perhaps even have Maggie let out a startled shriek, it might help things along better that way anyway. I wasn't sure how I felt about that post anyway, it felt kind of rushed to me.

Well a startled shriek would bring James and the sailors over and, depending on what Jade would prefer, could result in Loare legging it off with Maggie or what Irish suggested and Loare's capture. If the latter then 'Xo could witness the whole thing and go back to her people with the news that the newcomers aren't particularly friendly...

*shrug* Either way it's feasible plot device and gets the story moving along. I almost think it's more fun to not necessarily have a set in stone plan and just let the plot unfold as it comes sometimes, especially when we're a bit stuck on how we're going to get from point A to point B in a story's main plot.

Yay, I love when people talk plot.

Anyways, as Northern said, the Mersians do speak different languages for the most part, save that Ulsttor and Elmdelem share a common tongue. As for the Lythari, yes they speak something different too and even between the two nations, its different (its kinda spanish spoken in spain and the spanish spoken in mexico).

I'm in favor of the shrieking plan.

All right then, I went in planning to just so some editing, and ended up almost completely rewritting it from scratch. I do like this one better though, it felt more like Maggie as I wrote it than the one before. It's up if you want to take a look. Hope you like this one better as well.

Woot!

Northern, I'll let you take the post if you want it, mostly because I have a few things to do around my house and I'm going into work early, so I'm not sure when I'll have time to post today. I was planning on having the sailors be jumpy and more then willing to take shots at shadows.
