Taran soared through the air, seeing a family of deer and diving for the youngest one. He slashed at its neck, cutting its main nerve. The baby fell to the ground, dead.

He started cutting the deer with his hunting knife. Portioning up the good pieces, then wrapped it in some of its hide and flew back to camp.

"Someone order a small deer?" Taran said jokingly.

"You do know it's only you lot who need food"she said simply, sitting down against a tree with her eys closed but listening to the sounds around her. She could hear the others breathing and talking, the birds letting out warning calls that a hawk was close, the tigers prowling away from them, to a den in the forest. She would find them again later, she knew where every den, water and food source was.

Tara looked over at Sotar "Well he's unconcious and covered in hot goo" she said matter of factly, looking over at the lizard in an interested way, "Maybe you ought to go and help him."

"Haha. Nah, hes on his own with this one, I already flew him back from a clearing about a mile away while he was unconcious. Your turn." Echo said jokingly. "Or we can leave him there to recooperate."

Echo looked above as a hawk flew over, he wanted to fly away too. Yet he stayed here, the presence of other humans kept him anchored.

Nova had followed them, not willing to show her self just yet. She descided to step out now,"I have been following you, I am a coward so I ddin't show myself. I'm sure you're thinking how I followed you." She took a step back.
"Can, I guess, sense?", she shrugged,"It's more like smell others that have animals attached to them." She felt the heat rising to her face. She thought cynicaly,'I'm like a school girl.' She twisted her hair and waited.

Odis was on all fours crawling looking at the ground for something. His knuckles started to get a little sore from walking on them all day. He then found what he was looking for, a grasshopper. He dove for it falling short thats when the chase begain. Dive and miss, dive and miss, thats how it went. Finaly he caught it and ate it. He squated down on his legs looked around he stared into the faces of other people. He knew he looked stupid diving for the grasshopper, the way he carried himself, and his strong hands that looked a little big. " uhm.. hi." He said waving nervously, " I'm Odis"

Tips: 0.00 INK Postby Muffin-Moip on Sun Apr 27, 2008 5:43 pm

Barb fell out of the tree, wakening half way through the fall. She came to her senses quick enough to let out an "Oh.." before she thudded to the ground, letting out a snarl of pain as her back thumped onto an upraised root of the tree she had been sleeping in. Rolling over onto her side, Barb reached behind her and felt her back gingerly, sighing in relief when she felt no blood, bones, or bumps. She looked up at the tree she had fallen oh-so-gracefully from, noting that the branch she had slept in was relitively low to the ground. Letting out another sigh , she rolled onto her knees, pushing up off of her hands to stand straight. Feeling bones creak and pop, Barb reached up and stretched hard, reveling in the release of muscle tension. "Note to self," she whispered as she dropped onto all fours, "Don't sleep in a tree."

Barb sprang into an easy lope to try and find breakfast, basking in how natural it felt to run on all fours. Her streaked hair flowed out from behimd her, unrestrained by the tie she usually kept it in. Her beige tank was form fitting around her torso, letting her run easily without getting tangled in her arms or legs. She wished she could say the same about her slacks. They were tied around her waist by an old strip of leather, hanging loosely to her shins where the pine green fabric was tattered and dirty. Although they encumbered her running a little, it was only when she ran on all fours. When Barb ran upright, the slacks hung perfectly around her legs, letting them run and run without ever getting tangled.

But her casual run for a meal ended suddenly, Barb digging her hands and feet into the grass to stop her self. She looked from side to side, searching for the sound she had heard. There! She stood up warily, reaching up to her head to tie back her long hair. Barb's bare feet barely made a sound as she made her way to the thick copse of bushes where she heard the noises from. The arm that had the barbed wire tattoo curling around it went to the left of her waist, grasping the hunting knife tied to her belt. Reaching out, she pulled aside a few thick branches and pushed herself into a clearing. A clearing filled with people.

"Other... people..." With that, Barb fell to the ground in a dead faint.

Taran was surprised by all the newcomers surrounding them, he felt them staring at his back. He stood and turned to face the rest of the quickly growing party. It was like they were all drawn here.

"Ay, but you can't have been following me, I flew." Taran said jokingly. "Woah, one of em fainted!"

Taran ran over and grabbed the girl, dragging her up against a tree. He made sure she wouldn't fall over, then ran to get some of the cooked boar the lizard kid had cooked up. He fed it too he slowly, forcing her to chew and swallow.

Hopefully this does the trick...

Amber eyes snapped open at the smell of meat, tattoed hand quickly snatching the boar from the person feeding it to her and tearing at it with her teeth. Quickly finishing the scrap, Barb breathed hard, tensing against the tree at her back. Human, person, IN FRONT OF HER! Her silver hair with black and copper streaks flew side to side as she looked around the camp, eyes wide. So many of them, she thought awestruck. All around her, staring, observing, trapping her with their gaze. Keeping her barb wire tattoo hand at her knife handle, she stood, slowly backing away from the crowd in the clearing.

"Who-...." But all that came out was a strangled growl. It had been so long, so long since Barb had to talk with another person. Her voice didn't want to form the rough words that she wanted to ask. Instead, she resorted to a bit of sign language. Pointing one finger at herself, she then pointed to the small tattoo of a barb on the tattoo barb wire around her arm, showing she was Barb. She then pointed to the person who had held the meat infront of her, giving a shrug as if to say 'who are you?'

Tara shrugged at her from the otherside of the clearing, "I'm Tara and we are unfortuneatly the remanants of the humans...do you need some water?" she asked politely, holding a bottle of water up. "Oh and Sotar...." she said drawing her arm back and swiftly punching his arm, waiting for a reaction, except for him falling over slightly.

Barb studied the girl called Tara from the far side of the clearing, staying a safe distance from all of the others. The cask of water that she had offered was tempting, Barb feeling her parched throat scratch like sandpaper. With one eye onthe other humans in the clearing, Barb walked slowly on all fours to her, cautiously reaching out to take the water. Tearing off the cap with one sharp canine, Barb guzzled at the water, grateful to feel it wet her dry throat.

"T...Taer...." Barb could feel her mouth and throat trying to repeat the sounds that the Tara girl had said was her name. "ter...," seemed the farthest she could get before she gave up on producing the wierd noises. Barb knew that for a twenty-three year old, she should have developed her vocal skills by now. But after years of using only grunts and howls, regular human speech had deserted her.

"Taer-re....... Taere fer-rend?"

Tara smiled at the girl, it wqas as if she had been abandoned in the wild for years. "Yes i am a friend..." she said, looking over the severly depleted meat, "Hmmm...i'm going to hunt...you coming?" she said asking the girl, who looked a bit overwhelmed. She stood up, stretching her muscles and grinning, showing two extremly large canines. She strode off back towards the Tigeress and her cubs, in search of meat, not waiting for he girl to answer but to follow.

Taran launched up above the treeline, shouting. "Im Taran!" As he rose up.

Taran wanted something to do, something to entertain him, so he decided to follow the tigress girl and whoever ended up going with her. He had decided to abandon the group afterwards though, he could see a fight coming from a mile away.

Re: Spirit's Call IC

Ryla tilted the bottle, draining the last few drops of water. Glancing up to the sun with narrowed chestnut eyes, she ran a hand through her short, dark hair, wiping the sweat off her brow. The midday sun was too hot to be walking in and Ryla stopped, lowering her sandy coloured bag to the dirt floor with a heavy sigh. She would need to find more water soon - and shade if possible - or her strength would be sapped completely. She was already beginning to get tired; her usually dark boots were so caked in dust that they seemed moulded into the floor itself, almost seeming too heavy for her to lift.

Ryla had been wandering for weeks in search of other humans and had so far seen nothing but skeletons of those less unfortunate. Her temper had broken on several occasions and it was only in those times that she felt some relief - wings spreading to catch winds and sail her further than she could hope to walk. This mutation had also helped her to survive: by giving into the Osprey instinct, she could find food a lot easier, sometimes not needing to eat human food for days at a time. Mice and rats were always present in the abandoned towns.

Blinking out of her daydream, Ryla realised she could hear voices on the wind. Raising a weathered hand to shade her eyes, she peered into the distance, her keen eyesight immediately spotting the small black dot above the treeline on the horizon. In her sudden excitement at the possibility of another human, Ryla's form shifted, brown and white feathers drifting to the ground as her strong wings shot her into the air.

The trees approached quickly and the figure above the canopy shifted in the light, easily recognisable as a human - the large wings behind him being the only oddity. Ryla let her wings still, the warm air currents from the hard ground mixing with the cooler ones from the forest to create an updraught that allowed her to glide in slow, steady rings above the mutated human. Her Osprey feelings were beginning to set in, the fight or flight instinct barely contained, but Ryla made no further move, her human curiosity too overwelming.

The man seemed not to notice her and so she screeched in challenge, the high call reverberating around the trees and echoing around the relatively close empty town. Silently soaring, Ryla waited for a response.
