On this bright day the sun's rays peered throught the lush canopy of hunter green to see the forest floor. The birds chirped loudly in their mating songs and the squirrels buried nuts that they would later scower for and never find. All seemed well within this dense habitat; life bloomed as it would if spring were here. The water babbled gently as it coursed down the mountains; deer gathered their fawn as the fed, moving thoughout the vegitation - and yet the paused, alerted to the destiny that would befall them.

Cracks of lightning split the realm and the once singing birds flocked into the heavens, cawing and crying out for a savior -- terrified of whatever was happening within thier natural home. The skies dulled slightly, as if gravity was pulling inwards and collapsing the realm unto itself -- a vorpal wormhole. The ethereal and photokinetic double-helix spiraled from the heavens and came towards the middle of the forest with a thunderous crack of power; then it fell -- a meteor?

The ground rumbled and shook violently. Trees collapsed outwards as the shockwave of energy spilled out from the crater and debris rolled outwards in motes of thick dust and rock. The deer that had once been alerted were now off, scurrying their young towards safety -- wherever that may lie. The gentle tremors would be felt for near a mile in radius to the impact site, leaving this illuminated hole in the ground to cough? A groan came from the middle of the forest -- the center of this crater and as the dust cleared, something stood.

Whether it was man or monster, none would be for sure just yet - but Aftiel would run a set of slender digits through his ivory hair and knock what bits of rock and grass had entangled themselves within his crown. Lazily, half-masted pools would open and close, allowing the amethyst radiance to pour from his oculars with a glow of internal inertia. Whatever he was wouldn't be noticed now -- for no one was around to visualize his descent and arrival.

The Essence will find me. I must find shelter...

...where in the Nine Hells am I?

The thoughts formulated within his cerebrum. His cognition gave way to the spark of life within his thoughts and a mental net lept outwards in Astral patterns across this realm, like a symbiote, Aftiel began to accumulate knowledge of the terrain and it's inhabitance. Through atomic manipulation his illuminescent figure became clothed in a long slate robe, something to cover ... all of himself.

The flocks of birds tore across the heaven's above, much higher than the tree's leaves extended in desperate attempts to get away from the celestial meteor that struck and battered the middle of their quaint little homeland. The deer and other smaller mammals scattered like broken glass across a slick surface. The sheer terror had engulfed the land and none dared come around whatever this mystical event was.

Crawling out of the vast hemisphere that marred the flesh of this realm, Aftiel's plum huen pools gathered physical evidence of life; trees, shrubs, and markings of smaller animals -- none of which could be seen now, but they were alive. Life, thusly must have existed on this oddly scented world. Such fungus invaded the Fallen's nostrils and his nose crinkled roughly, disgusted. A slender, pale brow arose to mark the notion of the foul aroma seeming to permeat this nasty world...

What ... in Purei's name is that unholy smell?! It reaks! Maybe it's just the smell of this place?

... That's awful.

He would look for a place to rest now -- or hide at least for the Essence didn't sleep. From the crater, his bare feet marked a path into the wilderness, aimed to the northwest. The Twilight figured that eventually he would find something if he continued in a single, general direction. Hopefully?

As the mental netting gathered intel on the surrounding topography, cold steel would introduce itself to Aftiel's flesh calmly. Beneath his robes, the massive blade formulated on his back. The another at his left hip, nestled quietly within it's scabbard and a whip at his right, resting beneath the folds of ivory. Across his pale flesh, clothing would manifest. Now clothed, the draft would no longer be felt; his pace quickened.

The young she wolfs furry grey ears pricked forward as the ground began to rumble beneath her padded paws. The echoing thuds of falling trees moved with tremendous speed through the once peaceful now corrupted air, flitting from one ear to another, finally reaching her own. The wolf had felt the sound before she heard it, and it came with no surprise. While watching the birds shoot from the trees to create a living cloud of terror, with intelligent brown black eyes, the wolf’ pack began to rise to their feet. Having seemingly lain at random, the wolves had managed to place themselves in a perfect circle, with a clump of pups in the middle. Raising their heads to the heavens the wolves let howls emit from the depths of their throats, hearts and souls, creating their most favoured ghostly sound. The she-wolf that had first sensed the potential disaster hesitated before joining in the chorus of howls, balancing it.
The clouds of birds began to disperse and from among the pups rose a human like figure. The elf’s head turned as she once again took in her surroundings with amethyst orbs. With her pure white hair, its crimson tips blood thirsty. Cropped short to frame her elegant face, her beauty shone from the depths of her skin. The chorus of wolves continued around her hauntingly, and the cold wet nose of the young she-wolf pushed her forward, telling her to find out what it was, find out what is that disturbed their peace, their home.
The elf’s steps were slow and deliberate at first as she left the pack, but soon they were light, care free and world. Her quick steps carried her far as she wove through the trees, the simple tattered brown (mottled with greens) garment she wore fluttering around her nimble body.
Her small nose twitched as she ran, diminishing the space between herself and the stranger. Her nose continued to twitch, much like a wolves as she neared him, the air becoming more tainted with a new and strange smell. It was no unpleasant, and yet it was not... Desirable either. The elf slowed her pace, having covered the ground between herself and the new comer in a meagre amount of time.
There's Something About...
