The Celtic Lands

The Celtic lands are covered in high forests and large fields. With high mountains to the West and the European Sea to the east, to the North the English Lake and further up, the Arctic Lands, to the South, a passage between Sea and Mountain that leads to the South Atlantic Kingdom.

Most of the inhabitants of the celtic lands are nomadic and cling to the forest as a source of shelter, game and divinity. Some of the Celtic Lands have been settled in by inhabitants of Labrador City, trying to domestic the Celtic Nomads. The Celtic nomads hold their religion very dearly and each clan has an anointed High Druidess or Druid, which choses his or her own clergy. The Druids take shelter within the forests while the rest of the clan makes their camp outside the sacred forests. The Druids are known to sacrifice humans, animals and vegetation in honour of their gods of Man, Hunt and Harvest, whilst they perform sexual rites and dance nude in homage to the gods of Love, Beauty and Fertility. For the Mother Goddess, they gather the entire clan and perform the elemental sacrifice, they drown a beautiful slave, they bury a strong slave alive, they drop an intelligent slave from a high tree and they burn a brave slave.

The Celtic Nomads are brutal in religion and in war, the clans often battle each other and the surviving clan takes whatever men, women and children survived, four of which are sacrificed to the Mother Goddess and one which is sacrificed to the God of War as tribute.

The Deities

The Mother Goddess- The Goddess that created everything, she has hair as black as the night skies and the stars are diamonds that decorate her hair. She created the 4 elements of water, air, fire and earth. Her presence is universal.


The God of the Hunt- The God that resides within the Earth's forest, he roams the forests as a great stag, with bronze fur and golden antlers. He leads the animals of the hunt towards the hunters with a harmony sweeter than nectar. He has apparently mated with many Celtic girls and lay with Celtic men as well.


The Goddess of Fertility/Nature- The druids believe that fertility is a gift from the Goddess of Nature, a small deity, that resembles a faery, she is believed to live on the moon and when the moon is at it's fullest she is blessing the world with great fertility.


The God of War/Man-This god travels on great thick clouds, he makes the clouds clap when he feels a war brewing and makes them cry when the war is over. He is the deity of Man due to men being war.


Goddess of Beauty- Her skin is as pale as the moon and her eyes as green as the purest tree and her hair as orange as the bright sun. She, along with the God of the Hunt, are the most involved with the humans, she lies in meadows and awaits hunters to find her and enjoy her company, she ages without the pleasure of a man.


Goddess of Love- She watches over marriages and brings together those she wishes to be together, although she plays no part in making them love. She also tests their love by putting them through troubles. She is considered the sister of the Goddess of Beauty, although they look nothing a like.


The God of Harvest- He controls the seasons and looks after the health of crops. His hair changes with the seasons, orange for Autumn, White for winter, Light Green for Spring and Deep Green for Summer. He also the twin of the God of the Hunt.

High Druidess Collene Cauci
Aithne's mother, the High Druidess of the Cauci clan.
Collene was conceived on a full moon and born in the Forest of Life, the High Druid at the time believed her a godsend and capable of great things and a high affinity for magic. She quickly became a druid, the youngest of her clan at age 16, after obtaining the gifts of the gods, she quickly showed her great abilities and rose her way up the ranks of the clergy.
She was anointed the High Druidess shortly after her 23rd birthday and marriage to the Chief's son, she has performed many rituals for the gods and even conceived Aithne during a ritual to the goddesses. She often gives her husband war counsel, acts as clan ambassador and also acts as a battle mage during her husband's battles and wars.


Clan Chief Desmond Cauci

Desmond's father was one of the greatest clan leaders of the Celtic lands, Desmond was taught how to hunt and fight from a young age, he is proficient in a multitude of weapons but he prefers to use axe and shield. He always carries a dirk in his belt and is never far from a weapon, he is greatly protective of his clan and family. Desmond has been known as a fearless fighter and brutal killer, his greatest pride is his wife and family, if they were ever put in harms way, he'd stop at nothing to take them out of it, so far as to put himself in harms way.
After his father died, the clan was anxious to put Desmond on their throne as he was known to be headstrong and brutal as a youth but when he took his father's throne he realised he need to wisen up and started to become more calculating and less brash.
