The Lessard Family

Tips: 0.00 INK Postby Patcharoo on Sun Aug 01, 2010 9:39 pm

Three pictures stand on the dusty dresser, the first is of a man, his wife and their two daughters, both barely a year old, in their arms. The man is young, he couldn't be past mid twenties, and a soft smile is on his features. His hair is brushed back and possibly greased down for the sake of the photo. His wife is beautiful, with smooth skin and pleasant hair. Although the photo is black and white, you can tell her gown is white. The two daughters seem oblivious to the image that their parents look towards, but can be excused by their age. This picture has obviously seen the test of time, small stains, like droplets of water, marking it and now it retires in a simple wooden photo frame.

The second black and white picture is of the man and his daughters once more, though much older, possibly just reaching adulthood. While the man seems as young as before his eyes carry a certain age about them, a weariness of the world. He has no smile and his hair sits in an unkempt mess around his head. His daughters both stand patiently, as if receiving their first photo as a family, both smiling straight for the camera in their best clothing that had been found. One of the daughters is visibly pregnant. The mother is no where to be seen.

The final picture is of this family once more, now numbered greater then before. Forced to stand still at the front is a young boy and girl of different ages, both with years before they are teenagers. The pregnant daughter from the previous picture now holds a childs skeleton in her arms, the other daughter seems a touch out of place in this unusual family. Finally at the back is the man once more, with the slightest hint of a smile coming to his lips.

Brief History of the Lessard's
The Lessard's have a tragic tale to be told. Vincent fell in love with Eleanor and they soon were wed and had two children. Shortly after, Eleanor died, leaving Vincent to care for his two daughters. In his sorrow, he delved into the dark arts of necromancy, looking for a way to bring back his love, but finding none. It came to a point where he finally discovered how to turn someone into a foul immortal creature. Applying the arts to himself, he became a Nosferatu. Seeking to never lose his family again, Vincent quickly bit and turned his daughter Sanina. When trying to do the same for her sick child they did not survive. When his other daughter, Kaitlyn, returned home, he added her to his vampiric brood.

Moving South, they ended up in Wing City where Sanina adopted two children, Parson and Bethany.

Nature of Vampirism

A Lessard brood vampire is certainly more traditional vampire. Anyone bitten or turned by one of the Lessard brood will have the same result. Pre-existing vampires may or may not change. Lessard brood vampires gain immense strength and impressive speed, not to mention a substantial regeneration rate of the physical form. All Lessard brood vampires drink blood and carry the same venom. This venom causes those to be bitten to come under Vincent's control through their blood. No others in the family can control any others through the same method as Vincent.
In addition, all Lessard brood vampires cannot stand in the sunlight or they burn severely. Likewise, holy water causes them real harm as well as silver, both of which severely negate their regenerative properties and, in worse case scenarios, can lessen their strength or speed. Fire can also counter their regenerative properties to some exent.
A Lessard vampire may have a bat form, claws or even wings, but everything they have is still vulnerable to the aformentioned weaknesses, and none will have a bat form that matches the brood leader in pure physical power.

Lessard Family vs. Lessard Brood
There is a distinct difference between the Lessard Family and the Lessard Brood. Those bitten by any Lessard Brood member are considered a part of the Lessard family. Those in the family are those invited in or born in through existing family members. The family is very close and will often keep themself seperate from the brood. Vincent won't even bother remembering half of the brood names.

Honesty and transparency were valued, new people were incorporated into the community rather than judged based on what style of writing they preferred, and despite the youthfulness and zeal of the population there prevailed a reasonable degree of common sense.
