Dômes Resort is located in the Swiss Alps, a solitary structure hidden from general view so as to provide a sense of solitude and privacy. It's a short drive away from the skiing region of Zermatt, on the edge of a lake with access to a number of hiking trails and bike trails. Cars are not allowed in Zermatt, although it is possible to hire a taxi to the Resort (provided the drivers know where it is) or, if one contacts the Resort, they may arrange for a chartered bus to meet them at the pick-up point on the outskirts of Zermatt.
The Resort is split into two separate wings—the South Wing houses the rooms and entertainment facilities, such as the indoor pool and gym, and the North Wing houses the main office, meeting rooms, and conference hall. A handful of cafés and restaurants are available in both wings. Because of its location, the Resort functions largely as a location for company getaways and small business conferences, and as such focuses on offering a comfortable professional setting, including holding its staff to a certain standard of service.
It's not all business, though. There are a number of entertainment avenues available to guests. Skiing activities are available in both the summer and winter at Zermatt, as well as a snowboard park and the Klein Matterhorn cable car. The South Wing rests directly along a stretch of the lake shore and offers a beautiful view, as well as a secluded park and walking path. The Resort will be happy to advise you on potential hiking and biking trails based on your level of experience and leisure. The nearby Zermatt offers other activities, such as a village tour and museum visit, and services such as grocery shopping.
