Interest Check: The Rise of Anger

The mighty Gold Dragon, Garonthir of the Blue Dragons, managed to slay the three Lords of Decay, one hundred years ago. Now, with no new Gold Dragon in sight, the Blue Dragons face their next challenge. The Disciple of Rage is stirring trouble in the southern slums, banding together with the remnants of the Lords of Decay’s vast army. The current Silver Dragon, Sade, must gather all his wits about him and lead the Dragons against the Disciple and save the world once more. But who will emerge forth to be named as the Gold Dragon? Or will the Disciple triumph and lay waste to the northlands?

So this is a fantasy RP, based on a military group I invented. There are three main factions, if you will.

The first are the Blue Dragons, an elite fighting force from the northlands, they protect all those who are good. They consist of only humans and have 14 different ranks, (Identified by the colour of their armour.) led by the Silver Dragon, Sade. I will expand more on them in the OOC thread if I get enough people who are interested.

The second faction is the Disciple of Anger, a new threat from the slums of the south. He gained the nickname β€œChild of Hate” in his youth. He currently heads a small fraction of the far southeastern lands and has gathered fragments of the followers of the Lords of Decay. He hates all things, and is never satisfied until everything he hates is destroyed. You can join under him as generals or warlords that oppose the Blue Dragons; they can consist of any race.

The final faction is The Temple of The Shadow, not an enemy to the Blue Dragons as such, but they have never been on good terms. The Temple of the Shadow is a cult who worships the Shadow Lord. Their members are highly fanatical and dedicated assassins who have minor Darkness magic capabilities. They can be from any race. There is a special race, called the Suokavqem who are a race of Shadow people; I will probably make them all NPC’s since they have their own language.

And that’s roughly it, I will put a more in depth storyline and rules in the OOC thread but this is only an interest check after all, so tell me if you’re interested.

(There are no Dragons; it is simply the group’s name. I would also prefer it if there were only human characters in the Blue Dragons.)

Feel free to ask any questions and tell me if you're interested. As I mentioned before, I will expand in the OOC thread with more details and a stronger plot line. I want to make sure people will join before I start putting more effort in.

I like it...Really...I'd like to be Sade, if you aren't playing him...I already have ideas for some story, but, if you knew me, you'd know that I don't put Personality and Bio in the CS, hope that won't be a problem. I almost always let it come out in the Roleplay. I just like it better that way, lengthens my posts, tests my descriptive abilities, and just overall makes me feel better about my writing. Sorry, if that is a problem, I guess I could make some sort of Bio or Personality in the OOC, if it isn't, on the other hand, then, great! Haha, I'm rambling again. I guess, all I have to say is...Interest? Check!

Well I don't mind if you play Sade, but I sort of had him in mind as in his late 30's so other than that you can go wild. As for the Character skeleton, I haven't made one yet so you don't need to worry about that, I'll try and build it generic and I'll understand if you don't want to add personality and bio in.

Other than that I would appreciate some assistance on the story Idea, I have a basic idea of what’s going to happen but when it comes to fleshing it out a bit I'm open to suggestions.

Ooooh, nevermind, sorry, I can't play Sade...I can't play anyone over thirty, sorry. I just can't. It's not that I don't want to, I really cannot. I'm nineteen, and can't play anyone over thirty...Sorry. But, I had some questions and suggestions.

Q) What will the technology be like? Swords? Guns? Etc.

Q) How large is the Blue Dragon's Army?

Q) How large is the Temple of Shadow's Army?

Q) And the Disciple's Army?

S) I, am personally a romance junkie, if a bit of romance was thrown into the mix, it would be good for me, but, if you don't want that, that's fine.

S) I, am personally a lover of Fable II, and I just love the technology-set for Fable 2. If the technology was much like that, you'd have my attention.

S) With the Blue Dragons...Maybe you should make it sort of like the US Military, you have to be a certain age to join, and cannot be un-fit.

S) With the Temple of Shadows, maybe they could be a sort of Assasin-For-Hire type thing, helping both sides to pick off generals or warlords, and not really caring about ethics, who's good or bad wouldn't matter, it'd be who pays the most.

S) With the Disciple's Army, maybe the Warlords and Generals could be powerful in magic, or the entire army be mages or battlemages, or, just, please elaborate on what exactly they are.

S) I would like to know what races this planet has, that'd be great if you could tell me, and anyone else interested.

Technology is much like Fantasy/Medieval so there will most likely be no guns, but siege engines such as cannons will be in it. Examples are: Swords, Spears, Axes, Hammers, Bows, Slings, Halberds, Flails, Morning Stars, Scimitars, Scythes, Pitchforks, Two-handed Swords, Maces, etc.

The Blue Dragons are large enough to protect the whole north part of the world so I'd say, around about 8000? Taking into account that they have different ranks.

The Temple of The Shadow doesn't have an "army" per say, but their cult is probably around about 1000 members, but they do have an unlimited supply of Suokavqem who live in the Shadow realm along with their God, The Shadow Lord, but they tend not to wage full-scale war.

The Disciple's army is probably about three times the size of the Blue Dragons give or take a few thousand, they are mainly made up of a rabble of southland people who resent the Blue Dragons for not saving them from the deep economic and environmental downfall the south suffered and the remnants of the huge Lords of Decay's army. So Around twenty thousand members, but mainly unskilled soldiers.

Romance is fine, there are no gender restrictions on joining any group so there probably would be romance involved, as long as it's not randomly in the middle of a battle.

I'm sorry to say I haven't had the honour of playing Fable 2, but I'll look into it and get back to you on that one.

I suppose a minimum age would be required, I'll probably put it at about 17 or 18. Same would go for fitness.

The Temple of The Shadow pretty much are mercenaries, since they just do whatever they want most of the time. They don't tend to be on good terms with the Blue Dragons due to their cult worshiping of a slightly evil deity so it's more likely that they would be hired by the Disciple's army.

The Disciple's army are a rag-tag group of people living in the southern slums, left behind in the wake of the Lords of Decay, so there really wouldn't be many mages or warlocks, but there would be a few. Although, a good portion of the army is made up of the Lords of Decay's, who worshiped evil Gods to gain power, so there would definitely be a few magic people from that side. The huge bulk of the force are unskilled, poor people who don't have any solid economy or government, unlike the north, so they follow the Disciple because he shows the initiative and potential to get back at the northlands.

As for races, I'd say the normal fantasy routine. Humans, Elves, Dwarves, Orcs, Goblins, Trolls and the like. But there are no Dragons or Wyverns or any mythical creatures left alive, all of them are extinct due to the Lords of Decay.

If you need any more detail, don't hesitate to ask. Also if I haven't explained anything quite clearly here, tell me, and I'll try again.

I forgot to put this in my last post, so I'll say it now.

Don't worry about not being Sade, I really don't mind. Besides, once you see the other ranks available you might not even want to be him anyway. If no one else wants to play him, either I'll play him or let him be a NPC, doesn't really matter.

I will probably play the Disciple and a Dragon, just to try and keep things moving. Unless someone else wants to be the Disciple.

Also, I will not be playing the next Gold Dragon, since in the history and stuff I haven't named him/her or what they've done so I'll probably pick someone to turn into the Gold Dragon during the RP at some point.

I think I'd better mention that there are 12 Grey Dragons who act as a council, I won't be letting anyone play as them, but they will all be NPC's so feel free to interact with them. I’ll name them all in the OOC thread. All the ranks except the Grey Dragons are playable.

Another note is there is no "mortal" leader of the Temple of the Shadow, as their God can communicate with them through a portal, but he can't enter the material world. His minions can though. I will probably act as the voice of the Shadow Lord, since he wont need a skeleton.

Hmmmm, this looks like it would be worthwhile to get involved in. And I've played Fable II, and the tech system they have would be an interesting thing to apply. I suggest playing it as soon as you have time. But, that is beside the point, I do have a question. Or two now that I think of it.

Q) How would magic work in the Temple of The Shadow and the Blue Dragons? Meaning 'styles' of magic such as Necromancy (Magic governing Death), Pyromancy (Magic governing Fire), Hydromancy (Magic governing Water), ect ect.

Q)How do ranks go in the Blue Dragons? Beyond the mentioned, would the rpers be free to come up with a few as it went, to give some extra life to the Blue Dragons, or do you have something in mind?

Well, either way, you can count me in on this once the OOC is up.

Just a quick mention, I looked up a bit about Fable 2, and I'd say it would maybe be similar to it, without the guns (I think they are a cheap shot in Fantasy because everyone else usually has melee weapons.) But I'm not sure what you mean by the tech system, if someone could elaborate and tell me I'll answer the question as soon as I can. Anyway, onto the questions.

The magic is based on 6 elements. Fire, Water, Air, Earth, Light and Darkness.
Fire, Water, Air and Earth are pretty obvious.
Light - Healing spells and defensive spells, few attacking spells.
Darkness - Concealing spells, illusion spells, attack spells, that sort of thing.
The Temple of the Shadow draw their magic from the Shadow Realm so all members can use basic Darkness magic.
(If I haven't explained that very well, tell me.)

There are 14 ranks. I may as well post them here now. Only the Grey Dragons are unplayable. The colour refers to their armour, I will, again, explain in more detail in the OOC thread.
Blue - Standard troops.
Dark Blue/Navy - Experienced troops, tend to be generals and sergeants.
Red - Specialist troops in one weapon.
Maroon - Expert veterans, very few, are masters in their chosen weapon, tend to be trainers.
Black - Executioners/Judges, use an executioners axe, are the "law" system, very rare, tend to be male.
Grey - The council, they aid in decision making and maintain the Blue Dragons as an organisation. (You could compare them to a sort of Government.)
Silver - The leader of the Blue Dragons. (Currently, this is Sade.)
Gold - A legendary hero/heroine, are likened to Gods. (I will pick someone to turn into the Gold Dragon during the RP)
Teal - Specialised nautical captains, expert in sea warfare and boats/ships.
Orange - Healers and medics, can use basic light magic to heal.
Yellow/Tan - Scouts, typically use ranged weapons.
Green - Siege experts. Very few.
White - Mages and Warlocks, can choose one of the six elements of magic to master in.
Pink - Same as Blue Dragons, but exclusively for females.

I don't think there is anything I missed out and I hope I got a broad verity of jobs, skills and people there so I don't think there would be need to add any more, although if there is a decent suggestion I might think about it.

(Quick P.S.: The RP will not need any required Warlords or Generals so we can begin without them.)

Quick question. Does the Blue Dragons have cavalry in any of their divisions or is the entirety of the army infantry?

That is a good question... hmm.

Well I suppose it would just be one of the standard 14 ranks on a horse, since all mythical creatures have been wiped out (So no Unicorn, Pegasus or anything like that.)

So if you want to be a mounted character I would say go for it. Just say that your character is skilled in horse riding and has a horse or something like that. Of course you might want to ride a lion or something so that's fine too.
