The Ties That Bind (IC)

I’m thinking of say one, large continent, split up into three provinces. If you think of it like a triangle, there’s one on the top, and top on the bottom; one to the left and one to the right. Course, the continent isn’t in the shape of a triangle. That’s simply the layout of them. Each province is governed and mainly inhabited by humans. Vampires in this RP are still an underground, behind the scenes race. However, in each province has it’s own clan. So, three provinces, and three clans.
Needless to say, where the provinces may get along, the clans don’t. Underground wars between clans are always circulating in the rumor mill, and the relationships between high clan members are always tense. Because of this, clan members are prohibited from venturing forth into other provinces. If ever this rule was broken, it would count as act of treason, and the vampire who committed the act would be made example of.
Though the rules are harsh, and the consequences are severe, peace has lasted for many centuries. It’s been proven a tried and true method that each clan sticks to it’s own province, that no one really bothers to try and unite them. More or less, it’s seen as the way of things, and no one questions it.

So that’s the setting. Now, lets go over the specifics… (for those who don’t like to read much into uninteresting stories, I’ve included a summary that you can skim to get the idea.)
First and foremost, let me just add this...
This RP will be PG-17+!!! This RP will contain graphic violence, and at times, strong language. Anyone not interested in dealing with either of those two aspects should not take part in this RP. If you're mature enough to deal with that, then by all means, you're welcome to join. Use your judgment. You know yourself and what you're okay with.

The Provinces:
Northern Province (NP)
Made up of 3 towns
- SAAR - Capital of the NP. Everything pertaining to the government of the NP takes place here. Saar is also the main trading post. People come from all over to buy wares and Tellian style equipment. It’s easy to understand why Saar is the most glamorous city out of all three provinces. Tellian style equipment is highly sought after, and fetches much more than your average suit of armor.
- TELLIOUS - Most Northern town in the NP. Almost uninhabitable due to harsh living conditions; extreme cold in the winters, and extreme heat in the summers. Still, Tellious has prospered, making a name for itself for it’s incredible craftsmen. Tellious is considered to be the place to go for anything requiring a blacksmith out of all the provinces.
- FALLAMIRE - The white city, Fallamire is a place with little, or no crime. It’s peaceful, and it’s citizens wish it to remain peaceful. Therefore, outsiders, even those from the NP, are highly distrusted and looked down upon. Their business there is to be kept short, as well as their stay. Any Fallamirian would see them leave as soon as they got there, and usually never interacts with an outsider. Still, the appeal to Fallamire is it’s overabundance extremely rare, and highly valuable gem stones.
The ZEPHYR Clan
Clan leader - Arealia Zephyr
- A clan who’s power comes from sheer numbers, as the NP, being the largest of the three, yields the most bountiful source of “new recruits“. There numbers are great, but the select few who have risen through the ranks make up the back bone that holds the Zephyr clan together. The Zephyr clan is lead by Arealia Zephyr, who is believed to be one of the oldest vampires in the land.
The South Western Province (SWP)
Made up of 2 towns
- MECCA - Like Saar, Mecca is the capital of the SWP. It too is the main governing town and the main trading town in SWP. Unlike Saar, who specialize in the trading of Tellian equipment, Mecca specializes in the trading of potions. These potions are mixed in the Unforgiving Forest farther south. The civilization that calls the Unforgiving Forest their home transport these highly sought after potions to Mecca on a bi-weekly basis.
- AMIRE - The city deep with the Unforgiving Forest. The forest was giving that name because adventurers found the forest to be very unforgiving. Ridiculously difficult creatures inhabit the words, and travel through them is next to a suicide attempt. The inhabitants of Amire have made peace with the woods, and without an Amirian as your guide, passage through the woods isn’t worth the risk. Still, because many seek to uncover the secrets behind Amire’s amazing potions, many adventurers enter the woods, only to never be heard from again.
The GALLIAN Clan
Clan Leader - Cyrus Gallian
Cyrus Gallian founded the Gallian clan around the same time as Aurelia founded hers. In the beginning, it was simply the two clans that ruled the vampire world. It wasn’t until an uprising 300 years later that the Gallian clan split in two. Still, to this day, Cyrus Gallian and Lizzernelda (AKA Liz), avoid any contact, and the bond between them has be torn since the day they split.
The South Eastern Province (SEP)
Made up of 3 towns
- LAMAR - Lamar is the capital of the SEP, and it’s contribution to the land is crafting materials mined in the Mountains of Origin. These materials are traded here to buyers from all over the land, and are used in the manufacturing of everything from buildings to buggies. Though there are other mines for materials in other provinces, the purest materials are said to come from the Mountains of Origin.
- BLITZSTAN - Blitzstan is often passed by. It’s a dark, dreary town that always seems to be shrouded in a dense fog. Inhabitants are easily identified due to a paler skin tone. Still, even though they live in a dreary town, citizens are usually upbeat, and good tempered, unlike those found in Fallamire.
- ORIGIN - Located at the base of the Mountains of Origin, this small, peaceful mining town has made a name for itself over the years for providing excellent crafting materials. Not only is the quality of the materials superb, but the quantity of them is greater than anywhere else in the lands. Thus, Origin is a place for those looking to get their hands dirty, while earning a quality living amongst some of the most wealthy inhabitants in the SEP.
The AURIAN Clan
Clan Leader - Lizzernelda Aurian (aka: Liz)
Once upon a time, a few centuries ago, Lizzernelda, who is simply known as Liz, was deeply involved in the Gallian Clan. To put it simply, her and Cyrus were deeply involved. But after a few centuries of sitting on the sidelines, Liz eventually began wanting more power in the Clan. Power, that Cyrus wasn’t ready to give. So, Liz revolted. She took with her several of her own personal servents, as well as all those loyal to her, and left Cyrus, and the Gallian clan. She made her escape to the now SEP, and established the Aurian Clan. It took almost a century of bickering, and sometimes fighting, with the Gallian Clan for her to be able to stand on her own. To this day, the relationship between the two clans is probably the most stressed out of any.

One note i'm going to make is that you DON'T have to play a vampire character for this RP. You can play a human or any other kind of character that you can think of. Just so long as it makes sense with the setting and the place. If something's a bit off, we'll work with it to make it work, but i'm pretty open about what races can be apart of my rp. Just know that this is primarily a Vampire Based RP.
As far as submitting a character profile for this goes, just use a basic one. This is what i'm thinking:

**Province: (The province you are from CAN influence your character's part in the story, though your character can be a wanderer, in which case he/she isn't from any province. I know must of us know this stuff already, but i'm gonna go over it anyways, and i'll keep it short on the things that should pretty much be common sense to most RPers.
1) No God Modeing. I think this goes without saying, especially for vampire characters.
2) No Autoing without permission. This is something that RPer's would refer to as using someone else's character without asking. Whether it's making someone else's character say something, or making them act a certain way, you must get permission from that character's owner before doing so. It can get a little difficult at times to do this, but this way, no one can complain that their character was playing incorrectly.
3) Literate RPer's appreciated. This rule is one I've seen a couple of places throughout this forum. Though yes, we all want active rper's who can write well, and write a lot, i'm not going to require you to write a minimum amount within each post. It's unrealistic sometimes to write a 2+ paragraph post when it's not necessary. Use your judgement, but please, don't take advantage of this.
4) Please Be active. This is something else that goes without saying. Sure we all want a post a day, at least, but i'm not going to make that a requirement. If you can, sure, post once a day. But if you're busy, then let's face it, we all have lives. I for one might not even be able to post once a day, but as long as you remain active, posting when you can, then this RP should move along smoothly.
5) This RP is PG-17+!! As mentioned previously, this RP will contain graphic violence, and at times, strong language. I mean, how can vampires be PG-13? I don't get it, but yea, this RP will not be limiting what you can do with your character. However, use good judgment with sexual situations. Don't write pornography. I don't want to read it, and no one else does either. If that's something you have to have, then do a "curtain fades to black" sinario.

Vlar carries with him his family crest; a 35” black sword with a leather reinforced cross guard grip. It was passed down to him when he was an adolescent, as it was passed to his father before him. The blade itself has it's own unique properties. When withdrawn from the sheath, it resonates with a thick fog, that intensifies the longer it's unsheathed. The fog dissipates when the sword is returned to it's scabbard.

Several years of observing liars and deceivers has caused Vlar to distrust the mortal race. Instead, he finds himself to be the only trustworthy being he knows. Vlar also carries himself with a weight of sorrow, as he's spent so many years doing the same thing day in and day out. Such a life, which seemed so appealing at first, has become a burden, and he simply wanders aimlessly looking for more of a purpose.
Bio:
Vlar is a vampire that is fed up with being a vampire, but accepts his fate. He tires of the aimless wandering that is his life, and seeks to find something more, entertaining. Aside from that, Vlar is as he is. He delights in gratifying himself, and silencing the little demons inside. He basks in the moment of the kill, and lust driven women is his personal favorite. The hormones add a certain sweetness to the blood that he simply can't get enough of.
