Is Truth an Onion?

Inspired by a misreading of the title of that other truth thread:

Is truth an onion, in other words, is it layered? Can one peel away a layer of the truth and reach a truer, deeper truth? If so, is it possible to reach the core or is it layers forever?

Or is truth just truth, a solid block, no layers, and not very tasty at all as food for thought?
I can keep myself sane because I’ve got my candy gun!

Truth is like an onion, when one deals it in harsh slices, someone is bound to cry.
Like a stranger on a grate, or a skylark, or a taper, flying ever upward and knowing of love's satiety. Our dreams beyond the Sun and into the expanse of Night doth sound a quiet hymn.

No, truth is no onion, it is a lemon. It is sour and nobody likes it in its pure form. So they change it to their liking such as turning it into lemonade or dripping it on a steak.
