Skills: nature manipulation (weather control ie wind, rain, snow, heat and fog) occasional premonitions, some hand to hand combat skills. knives are weapons of choice.

She is very small and very serious but a kind hearted person underneath it all. Generally she has not worn her long hair down since she was small. For the most part her hair is kept tightly braided because it is more practical. Her clothes however tend to be very feminine and graceful--underneath them she wears a more functional attire for fights and weather working. Her knives are also strapped underneath her gown.
Bio: Aya rarely speaks, in fact when she was very small her parents used to worry that she was mute or shy. Yet, it is not that she cannot speak as much as she only speaks when there is great need of her to and she is not shy in the least. Aya is a very forward person, who is generally stern and smiles rarely. She doesnt necessarily need to speak in order to get her mesage across. Her solemness comes mainly from the abilities she has. She first realized she was able to manipulate the weather when she was very small--and it began very badly for her. A temper tantrum once caused a drought on her planet, and the death of her puppy caused severe rain storms. Now that she is past puberty she is no longer at the height of her powers--so things like flash floods and droughts are all in the past. Her primary weather control now is rainstorms,gusts of wind, snow(rarely) and fog. Her moods can also sometimes slightly alter the temperature in a room. Still, It is a power that requires many hours of training and intense focus. Her weather abilities are connected in many ways to her emotional state--so she must be in control of herself at all times.

As a child when she was not in control of her destructive abilities her parents quickly sent her away to a government funded school to train her. She has not seen them since. Her premonitions came at a later age--and they are very unpredictable. Though not physically destructive--it is mentally straining. She cannot control what she will see nor when she will see it--but they have rarely been wrong. These premonitions vary from little things, such as gifts she may receive or who she might encounter from day to day to greater troubles such as oncoming attacks and famines. However, she cannot predict every little thing--this power comes and goes as it pleases and is prone to change. Now, she is not much more than a government weapon, used to hinder enemy progress with weather alteration.Now that she is past puberty she is no longer at the height of her powers--so things like flash floods and droughts are all in the past. Her primary weather control now is rainstorms,gusts of wind, cloud cover, snow and fog. Her moods can also sometimes alter the temperature in a room. But underneath all of her training she has a kind and gentle heart that few people see.

Sorry it took me so long to get the character bio up - I should have done it days ago, but Christmas kept me busy...

So here goes:

Name: Leah Shaffer

Age: 28

Gender: Female

Side: Earth

Skills: She is good at anything your average Marine can do. In addition, she can carve just about anything out of wood, and can go all lawyer on people if she wants to.

Appearance: A (lot) less girly version of Naomi Watts, sturdier and more muscular. No makeup. Definitely.

Bio: Leah’s parents were very strict, and made life seem like nothing more than a career ladder to climb. She was pressured to excel in every activity, mental or physical, and this eventually lead to the young Leah alienating herself from her family and her parents’ demands. Partly out of spite, partly out of her love towards physical work, she joined the Marine core at 23, after graduating from university with a Bachelor’s in International Law. The last time she spoke to her parents was when she announced her joining the core to them.

Other: Leah has possessed a strange ability to guess people’s moods and thoughts all her life, in addition to some psychic abilities, but she is not sure why she has this skill. She hasn’t told anyone about it for fear of being declared unfit for service as a Marine. She has managed to ignore the ability to a reasonable success in the past years, but cannot prevent seeking the support of her “seventh” sense in unpredictable and dangerous situations. Coming into contact with Elinians, and thus being forced to come to terms with her ability, has shaken Leah’s identity a great deal, endangering her perception of self as a human, an Earthling. I think it will be interesting to see what she is going to do about it.
