I yawned, and blinked the sunlight out of my eyes.
What a beautiful day to be woken up by the sun ligh--
"STARLIGHT! Hurry up! Squirrelflight told you yesterday that we were going on dawn patrol!" i heard my brother Goldenstripe yowl.
I groaned and stood up reluctatly out of my nest, then shook my pelt out. I padded out of my den calmly, then sat down and swipped a paw over my ear. "Ya ya ya give me a minute Goldenstripe," i snickered playfully.
I heard Lionblaze yowling from across the clearing. "Lets go Starlight!" Goldenstripe mewed.
"Alright!" i hissed back and stood up following him to the bramble tunnel.
Lionblaze looked down at me, "Starlight. We're late now," he growled.
"Is Cinderheart coming with us?" i asked ignoring his comment.
"No. Now lets go," he said shaking his head mumbling about 'young ones.' Its not like he was that old. I padded out of the camp with Goldenstripe at my heels, nudging me forward.

Shadowfang's fur swayed in the wind as she looked out onto the lake. "I only wish it were still night" she hissed. For the water looked so much better with the moon shining on it.
"I should bring back the prey I caught last night." she though sadly. She hated going back to the camp. But she had to sleep sometime and Bramblestar has been very kind for letting her both hunt alone at night and sleep during the day. She knew he was suspicious of her but she didn't care. For she was doing nothing wrong.
Then the sound of a patrol came through. She flickered her ear at all the racket they made. "They are so loud. I hope that no hunting patrols are out. For this group of cats are scaring off all the prey."

My tail swayed from side to side, smacking Goldenstripe in the face from time to time. I think he had enough of it. When my tail was hovering over his nose, he nipped it. I squealed and sprinted forward easily outrunning the partol, ignoring Lionblaze's yelling. Looking back i snickered, until i slammed into something fuzzy, bowling over the cat. "Whoops! Sorry Shadowfang!" i apoligozed as Goldenstripe poked his head out of the bushes and chuckled. I glared at him for a second and he stuck his tongue out at me and disappeared back into the bushes.
LightPaw was woken by an itch on his nose. He opened one eye to examine the source of the itch and saw a small green leaf perched upon the tip of his nose, probably blown over by the wind. After letting out a short yawn, he shook his head and watched the leaf fall to the floor. Moving his gaze upwards LightPaw noticed that the sun had already risen, it was approaching midday. That was when he remembered that he had a lesson with Jayfeather, it was to have started at dawn but now he would be late!.
LightPaw quickly jumped to his feet and dashed out of the camp. LightPaw didn't care what was in his path, running through bushes and bumping into several other cats on the way to Jayfeather. The medicine cat was to be showing LightPaw how to care for a sick cat properly and so they were to be headed towards the home of one of the camps sick cats whom had whitecough.

Shadowfang scowled at Starlight while she was padding off. Even though they were only a few moons apart in age, Shadowfang was more mature than her.
The black she-cat didn't really get along with any of the other young warriors or the apprentices, and she spent most of her time talking to Jayfeather or the elders.
Once the patrol was gone, Shadowfang shook out her fur and picked up the prey she had caught and padded off back to the camp.

After we marked the Shadowclan border, we started back to camp. I stopped midway and told the two i wanted to hunt alone. I padded off, my mouth open slightly, looking for scents. Poking my head out of some bushes, i saw Lightpaw and Jayfeather. "Hello you two," i walked out of the bushes and sat down.
LightPaw looked over to StarLight and mewed a quiet "Hello", trying not to get Jayfeathers attention. He turned back to the patient they were treating and listened carefully, not wanting to miss even a single word from his lecturer. JayFeather paused and nodded towards their patient, signalling for the apprentice to step forwards and treat the patient. He picked up some catmint which he had brought with him then stepped towards the sick cat. He put the catmint in front of the cat and nudged it towards him with his nose. He drew closer to the ill cat and whispered into its ear "Eat it, You'll get better soon" then walked back to JayFeathers side.

I watched Lightpaw treat the sick. He is a clever little cat. "Well good job Lightpaw and get well soon. Bye!" i mewed and scampered off to continue my hunting. My mouth was open slightly, and not aftet long, i caught the scent of a hare. Following the scent, i soon found it wandering in a clearing. I slowly stalked towards it, my lithe body hovering above the ground as i grew closer, and closer, and closer. I was only a few fox lengths in front of it, when i stepped on a brittle leaf. The hare's head jerked up, and it took off. I sprinted after it. It was fast but i was faster. In one motion, i lept forward and snappef its back legs. It collapsed and i broke its neck, not wanting it to suffer. The hare was massive! It was the size of an apprentice! I grabbed the back of its neck, and slowly began to half carry half pull it back to camp.
I was satisfied with what I had done and thought that maybe Jayfeather hadn't taken too much notice of my tardiness. I was about to ask to be excuse for the day so I could go play with the others, Unfortunatley for me it was at this moment that Jayfeather looked down to me and spoke. "Don't think your going to get away with being so late LightPaw, you need to learn what it means to be a medicine cat. What might have happened if the sick cat was close to death, only minutes to be cured?." LightPaw sulked and looks to his paws as he stood there listening to Jayfeather lecture. I knew my job and was sorry that I had been late, I tried to squeeze in a word to explain why I was late but Jayfeather was relentless in his criticism. In the end I decided to keep quiet and listen, taking every peice of advice Jayfeather gave me to heart. When I was eventually dismissed I decided to go find my friends and play, try to cheer up abit.

After tripping over my own paws, as well as the hare' s, I could finally see the camp entrance. "What a relief. This thing is ad heavy as eight mice!" I needed through a mouthful of hare fur. I dragged it into camp and put it in the freshkill pile.
A few of Brightheart' s kits scuttled over. "Wow that's bigger then me!" one said happily.
I chuckled, "Everything is bigger then you." I teased sticking my tongue out playfully to the little white tom.
"I am going to be bigger then you one day! Watch this!" he growled and I watched, amused, as he stalked his little sister then pounced on her, and they wrestled the ground. He came back to me panting, and needs, "You see! I am big and strong!"
"Of course you are little one," I leaned forward and licked his head. Then I could hear Brightheart calling them over, back to the nursery. "Stay out of trouble," I said as left to see his mother. I sat with my thick fluffy tail over my paws and pureed, "I want to have kit s some day."

I had perched myself upon a branch up in a tree nearby the edge of the camp so I would be able to see almost anything that happened. The branch was fairly thick and wide, enough for me to lie down on whilst I waited. After some time I dozed off, bathing in the rays of sunlight which came through small gaps in the leaves above. This time of peace and luxury was short lived, I was all so suddenly woken by a bird landing just a tails length away. Jumping up in fright I stumbled to the side and slipped off the branch. Before I knew it I was falling through the air towards the ground, eyes closed waiting for the pain. Fortunately there was a bush below me, I was surprised when I hit the bush, landing safely and softly on my back. Still somewhat shaken I pulled myself to my paws and headed back towards the camp.
I nearly tripped over some kits on my way back to the centre of the camp. I lowered my hea slightly and apologised to the kits before moving on towards the freshkill pile. I thought It might be a good place to start seeing as Starlight had probablly been out hunting before.

"Oh hello again Lightpaw," i mewed cheerily. I was lying down in the nice warm sunlight, my tail swaying back and forth rythmically. My icy blue eyes gleamed in the light, and i smiled.
When I heard StarLight I was so happy, I dashed towards her and was about to tackle her when I tripped over my two front paws and ended up crashing into her. I considered trying to play off that I did it purposely but I didn't think she would believed that and so when I managed to pull myself upright I turned to her.
"Sorry StarLight. I didn't mean too..." My voice trailed off and before I moved on to ask her to play with me I paused to listen to her reply.

I chuckled and purred at the same time. Standing up, i shook out my pelt, then sat down, tail over my paws. "Its ok. Its not like you hurt me," i purred. I smilled cutely. "Are you ok?" i asked and tilted my head to the side.
I smiled and wipe a bit of muck off my nose with my paw, nearly forgetting what I was going to ask her.
"Im Fine, I was going to ask if you wanted to go play? Im so bored!"
I yawned and then sat down infront of her, waiting impatiently for a reply.

My eyes lit up and i jumped to my paws, "What do you want to do? We can climb, practice fighting, race, though i wouldnt recommend trying to race me." i smirked then kept going, "Because its nice and sunny, I've always wanted to try to learn and swim! The water will be a nice way to cool off."

"Oh come on its not that cold!" i laughed happily splashing around still in the shallows. I was kind of scared to go into deeper waters, but i wanted to show what a brave warrior I was. My little white paws flashed in the water as i sprinted back over to Lightpaw. Pushed my paws forward quickly, i splashed water all over him. I laughed, and stuck my tongue out.
I jumped back as StarLight splashed water at me but some still got on my face. My immediate reaction to this was to shout angrily at her as she stick her tongue out.
"Dont do that! Its cold..."
I shook myself to get any of the water off me and moved even further away from the shore. I felt bad for ruining her fun because I was the one who dragged here down here and I wasn't even playing with her but there was no chance I was stepping into the water. I decided I would apologize later, hopefully she would be able to enjoy herself for now.

I turned to face StarLight. I didnt want to bring up my problem with water so I tried to avoid her question. "Just you go swim, Im just fine here". I looked to my paws and shuffled around in the sand, attempting to hide my boredom. I could barely stand in that one spot because I was so full of energy.

You can take the two characters if you know their personality well, but all of the cats submitted are in Thunderclan so you might not get much action.
