I couldn't believe I had lost that battle. It wasn't the first time I had lost, but that wasn't the point. He had proven his point; I couldn't have been battling properly...to make matters worse, he approached me afterwards, telling me I should stop training. I was only making it harder on my Pokemon.

I returned home, to my parents, and pretty much locked myself up in my room. I only came down to eat, and spent a good portion of my time thinking. If, like he said, I was only making it harder on my Pokemon, and training them was the only thing I had ever thought I was good at...then what could I possibly be good at? I finally left my room, only to wander a little ways into hte forest. I released my Pokemon; they would probably have a better time out there than with me. Two of them waited a few days before actually leaving, and even then I was sure they hadn't gone too far away.

As I walked through the little village, sullenly pouting, I caught a glimpse of a book on the ground. I picked it up and, after spending a moment examining it, I turned and walked out of the village, a little ways into the forest, sitting near the river. It looked like some sort of spellbook. I didn't believe that any of those spells would work. Just out of curiosity, and because I thought it'd be good for a laugh, I opened the book, and stopped at a random page. I read one, shaking my head as I finished. Well, it had passed a minute or two of my time. I set the book down, and stood up, stretching. I walked a few steps, and paused; something didn't feel right. I only managed a few more steps before I did collapse.

When I woke up a little while later, I shook my head, and tried to stand. But...wait, what was just in my face? I shook my head; that wasn't my hair in my face...I tried to stand up, but couldn't balance on two. I crawled over the the river, confused. I gaped at my reflection. When did I turn into a Glaceon?! I didn't think; only ran back to the village. I wandered around, and eventually ended up hiding in an alley. I sat there, and once it got dark, I wandered back to the forest, where I had left the book. There didn't seem to be any other option but the book anymore. But the book was gone! Now what am I going to do?
