Childhood/Family Life:
Nothing about Daisy's parents was remarkable. Sure, they were well off, but most of it came from their parents. Her maternal grandparents had died relatively young and had left everything they had to their only child. It wasn't much, but it was enough to make sure they could live comfortably. Daisy's father, Thomas, was regional manager for a chain of drugstores, and her mother, Marian, was an elementary school teacher. If there was one thing Marian Hamilton had a passion for, it was books, and she passed that passion on to her daughter. The two would frequently be found curled up somewhere, both lost in their respective books.

Marian Hamilton was a gentle soul. Her students conspired that she had been a Disney princess once, but had given it up to teach them. She seemed to endear everyone she met. She was excellent with children of all ages, from the young kids she taught to the moody pre-teen her daughter eventually became. It seemed that everyone in the community seemed to know her and love her. She said hello to everyone in the street and seemed to stop to talk to every other person.

So when she was diagnosed with an aggressive, and terminal, illness, the entire community mourned with the Hamilton family. She died almost five months to the day after being diagnosed, leaving her husband alone to cope with their fourteen year old daughter. Thomas turned to religion to cope, becoming a devout, almost obsessive, Christian. Daisy, however, went off the rails. Her first three years of high school were three years of parties, hookups, and pretending that she'd grown out of her love for books. Her relationship with her father reached an all time low during those three years as Thomas condemned Daisy to be a sinner, and Daisy went looking for more sinful ways to pretend none of it was happening.

Towards the end of Daisy's junior year, she was involved in a bad car accident. Faced with potentially losing his daughter as well as his wife, Thomas went and spoke to the hospital chaplain. It was a conversation that changed his outlook entirely and improved his relationship with Daisy, as the chaplain told him that life wasn't as black and white as Thomas wanted to believe. Daisy's actions didn't mean she was a bad person. She was just a young woman trying and failing to deal with her problems, and her father calling her a sinner wasn't helping at all. Once Daisy was out of surgery and awake again, she and her father became as close as ever.

Daisy returned to the person she had used to be. She worked hard throughout her senior year and got her grades up enough to get her into Fulton, even if it wasn't a full ride. She admitted to her love of reading and became unashamed of it, even going as far as to choose it for her major. With the help of some counselling, Daisy came back into her own in senior year and her freshman college year. Pledging Theta Chi was the final confirmation that she was a new person.

Quirks//Habits//Oddities:
Draws hearts on everyone's orders in Starbucks || Plays with her hair and clothes while reading || Dog-ears all of her books || Doodles on her textbooks, even while paying attention

Good personality traits:
Loyal || Gentle || Intelligent || Confident || Hard-working

Bad personality traits:
Proud || Volatile || Sharp-tongued || Too forgiving || Lets her heart rule her head

Personality:
Daisy takes after her mother in many ways. She's also rather bookish, and there's few things she would rather do than curl up with a good book and lose herself in it for a few hours. She's a very gentle soul, and it's seldom you'll find someone actually angry at Daisy. Annoyed or frustrated, yes, but not actually furious. She's good with people of all ages, to the point where some of the nurses lamented when she was discharged from hospital because it was no longer another person to talk to the elderly patients and sometimes even comfort them. She works very well with kids, and intends to follow her mother into teaching. Her parents shared the same work ethic, one that they passed on to Daisy. Daisy's unafraid of hard work and is more than willing to put in as much effort as it takes to get her somewhere.

However, Daisy is not her mother. The two share differing traits and some may even say opposing traits. One of these such traits is Daisy's confidence. Having to pretend to be confident for all those years started to rub off of her, and as she came to accept who she really was, the confidence came with it. She's unapologetic about who she is and doesn't intend on changing for anyone. Her pride is tied in with this. It's taken so long for her to get back on her feet that she refuses to allow herself to be dragged down by anything or anyone... even if it's just to apologise. Her temper and volatility is perhaps one of her worst points. She's got a short fuse and an explosive temper, which seldom ends well for anybody. While she would never get physical, she's got a sharp tongue, and when she's angry, she won't hold back. When she's upset, she also has a tendency to push people away as much as she can. While her coping mechanisms have improved, they're still far from perfect, and they're not always healthy.

Her therapist has a theory that this all has something to do with how forgiving she is. She lets her heart rule her head far too much, and she has let people back into her life that she shouldn't have. She knows she shouldn't do this, she knows that it will probably result in her getting hurt again; but she has far too much faith that people can change. She believes in the power of kindness as well as karma and the law of attraction, constantly striving to put good energies out into the universe. And if she just makes one person's day a little better, it's worth it, as far as she's concerned.

Greatest joys in life:
Reading | Random Acts of Kindness | Friends and Fsmily | Ice Cream

Thoughts on Greek Life: Daisy had never really considered Greek Life before actually getting to Fulton. But on hearing about the Theta Chi library, she was sold. Part of her felt like she didn't belong in Theta, considering everything her high school life had entailed, but choosing Theta Chi was the confirmation that she was no longer that person. She's found a second family with the girls, and has never looked back.

Plans for after college: Daisy is unsure about her future career, having two options in front of her. She would love to teach English, but she also wants to be a journalist, hence the human rights major. She's unsure as to what she'll choose, but knows she has plenty of time to decide.

Build: Daisy just reaches 5'4 when she stands up perfectly straight. She's narrowly built as well, weighing in at 130 pounds. Neither her height nor how thin she can appear particularly bother her. She knows she's healthy, and that's all that matters. The fact that she does boast an hourglass frame helps, even if all of her curves are relatively small. She has good posture, which can make her look taller than she actually is.

Hair Colour: Her hair is brown, the exact shade depending on the light. It can appear to be a few shades away from dark, or a much lighter, warmer brown. It's somewhere between in reality, naturally falling almost dead straight.

Eye Colour: Green-hazel, again, their exact shade depending on the light.

Distinguishing Marks: She has a number of scars on her abdomen from the surgery, as well as a tragus and rook piercing in one ear. Both ears also have the regular line piercing.

Style: From how up to date and fashionable Daisy always seems, one would expect her to have a much larger closet. In reality, she has a number of basics and classics that go with everything, and she knows how to wear them to stay in style. She prefers to stay on the "classy" side of fashion, believing that there is always elegance in simplicity.

So begins...

Eliza looked down at her phone as it buzzed a few times. Mickey, Amaris, Daisy and Danny. She felt a tightening sensation in her chest at the last two names. She sighed and read through the messages.

To:Mickey
Afternoon ok? I have a class at 2 xxx

To:Amaris
No, it’s fine. I wouldn’t wanna get in your way. I need to talk to Danny anyway. Catch you later, yeah? xx

Eliza tapped her phone against her lip as she pondered her reply to Daisy. She didn’t want to completely blow her off, Daisy was still one of her closest friends and she didn’t have any evidence beyond this gnawing in her gut that something had happened between Daisy and Danny. Not that it really mattered, she told herself. It wasn’t like Danny was her boyfriend or anything, so he wasn’t cheating on her. But still, if there were ever two people who needed to define their relationship, it was probably Eliza and Danny. Although judging by the way Danny was acting, there wasn’t even a relationship for them to define. Eliza shook her head. She was over-thinking this way too much. All she had to do was ask Danny. This was only between her and Danny.

To:Daisy
I’ll catch you tonight, yeah? Apparently I’m popular today and I’ve got classes. I don’t want to feel like we’re getting rushed x

She hesitated again before she text Danny, her nerve momentarily failing her.

To:Danny
I have time now. I’ll see you in 20 minutes? At the cafe on campus.

Before she could read over the text, Eliza dropped her phone in her bag and headed to the cafe. She grabbed one of the smaller booths by the window, so Danny couldn’t say he had turned up and hadn’t been able to find her. It was reasonably busy as students poured out of class to the counter for a much needed caffeine boost. She spotted Maddox across the way. ”Oh God…” she whispered to herself, offering up a silent prayer that he wouldn’t see her until Danny had left. Eliza placed her water on the table in front of her and pulled a book from her bag, shielding her face from curious glances. So far Hacker, Hoaxer, Whistleblower, Spy hadn’t been the most enthralling read, but she was determined to finish it, even if the book seemed determined to distract her or bore her to sleep with the amount of time it spent meandering over details that didn’t even matter. She wasn’t even reading it properly, she realised as she skimmed over the same paragraph for the fifth time. She just didn’t want to be seen, which seemed to be working as Maddox left without noticing her.

BLAKE TYLER

Blake picked his phone up as it buzzed, signalling Cyrus’s reply. He smiled as he read the reply. It was like Cyrus to be that cocky. He was about to start typing out a response when-

"Couldn't stay away from me, huh? I have that effect on people."

Blake tensed slightly as Cyrus sneaked up on him. ”Jesus Christ, Cyrus. Give me a heart attack next time, it’ll be quicker.” Blake studied Cyrus while the blond boy scrolled through his phone. His voice had sounded rough when he spoke. That, combined with his bleary expression belied the tell tale signs of a hangover. Blake pressed his lips together, resisting the urge to shout. They were in public anyway, that was Cyrus’s only saving grace. If they’d been back at the house, Blake might have just had to belt out show tunes at the top of his voice. He pushed the untouched coffee on the table towards Cyrus, saying nothing. Maddox walked past them and seemed way too keen to get away from them...or more specifically, the blond boy who had just joined the table. Blake looked over to Cyrus for a moment before looking back down at his textbook. Blake might not be the best with his own emotions, but he could see where Cyrus and Maddox were headed, and very quickly if they didn’t get over themselves and actually talk to each other.

His phone buzzed again with a response from Amaris.

To:Amaris
What’s wrong with good old fashioned face to face? Is having me that close to you too much of a distraction? I could always wear a mask. Unless you’re into that?

β€œThe area was encompassed in a bubble of warm, fragrant steam from the funnel cake deep fryers. It smelled like sweet vanilla cake batter you licked off a spoon.”

~ Sarah Addison Allen, The Sugar Queen

There was something about carnivals that brought out one's inner child. The whimsical surge of energy combined with various food stands packed with every sugary, fatty and downright delicious delicacy coating the sticky sweet air that surged upwards into passing group's nostrils. Screams from passengers aboard rides echoed all around, little beeping noises from won games filled people's ears. The playful ambiance of such events welcomed couples holding hands, students and even families, all searching for a little bit of fun after a long day. Carnivals were places to have fun, to relive just a small piece of one's childhood. It was also a place where anything could go and perhaps, where certain rules no longer apply...

*Day Before*

Hayden would silently lookn towards his big, as he rolled his eyes. "Ben, I'm just worried about you two. But whatever, I hope what you get isn't good enough," the Kappa walked out with the o.j and bottle of vodka and walked back up to his room. He would roll his eyes, as he sat on his bed, and turned on Netflix. His phone would vibrate, and he pulled it out of his pocket. It was a text from Cyrus, cancelled plans. Mhm. He knew it, it was a bit too good for him to believe. He would text Daisy, and inform her of the date's cancellation.

TO: Alexander Hamilton
Hey, nevermind. His father needed him tonight ig....you busy tomorrow at the carnie? Would love to hear about your and Daniel's night of passion. So, you think we could hang out?

The young Kappa, would smile towards her. His dark green/brown eyes would focus on his acoustic guitar. Located near his nightstand, he knew he hadn't played it in awhile, so he picked it up. He reached over to the top of his nightstand, the mess that it was, and pulled out his lucky guitar pick. He began to aimlessly strum the chords, until he began playin a song. A softer acoustic version, of Billionaire by Bruno Mars, would ring in his ears. He would begin to think about Michaela, so he sent her a quick text.

TO: Mick (Michaela)
Haven't seen you in awhile. wanna do a collab soon?

Daisy had just about finished her coffee when the first text from Hayden came. However, before she actually got around to replying, another text came in. She rolled her eyes, before sending him a quick text.

To: Hayden
Asshole. I have no plans for the carnie, so hanging out sounds good. That said, I'm not the type to kiss and tell. You might just have to connect those dots yourself ;) should i come over to yours or do you wanna come to the theta house tomorrow? x

Popping the last bit of pastry into her mouth, she decided to head to the library to get some work done. Even with the remnants of her hangover, the show had to go on. And, besides, it was perhaps the quietest place on campus. It wasn't a bad place to be if you had a hangover.

Hayden continued to play on his guitar, as he smiled. His phone buzzed again, a message from Daisy. He would read it a start to type a response.

TO: Alexander Hamilton
Come over to my place, I need an outfit to wear. He's not an asshole btw, he's just....unique ig. Or some other bullshit. C'mon! YOU HAVE TO TELL ME!

He looked at the message and sent it. Why did he even make an exception for Cyrus? It'd happened a few times before. But, that being said, this time felt weird. Hayden shook it off and looked into his closet. A loud popping sound came out of his mouth, as he searched endlessly through his clothes. He was still in his pajamas and didn't really care. He silently groaned. Yay! Clothes!

The following evening

Daisy wasn't usually so punctual about getting out of work, but tonight, she got out as quickly as possible. She stopped only briefly at the Theta house to change into something a little more suited to thecarnival, before heading on to meet up with Hayden. All anyone had really spoke about was the events of the previous nights- who had hooked up with who, what alumni had apparently been there... and, of course, the fight. They'd all been issued with community service, and it seemed like everyone had their own opinions on that. But Daisy honestly could care less at that point. She just wanted to chill and catch up with Hayden.

To: Hayden
I'm outside, let me in!

Hayden would be in his room, he would be getting changed into a diffent outfit. His dark blue-green eyes would stare into the body length mirror he had hanging form his closet. He wasn't really pleased with it, but he decided he would deal with it. He looked into his drawer, looking for his contacts, he noticed he didn't have any. He would sigh, that meant he had to wear his glasses. Now don't get him wrong, he looked absolutely adorable in his Adventure Time glasses. But he felt a little childish wearing them. He moved his hands into his pocket and grabbed his phone out. noticing he had two text messages. He unlocked his phone and would check them.

FROM: Cyrus
Sorry for ghosting, I was forced into a horrible dinner with my father. Meet me after the carnival?

FROM: Alexander Hamilton
I'm outside, let me in!

Hayden looked at the first text. He didn't want to do anything to hang out with the male, but his father roping him into a dinner wasn't his fault. Still he, felt like he should cold shoulder him. He and Daisy could hang out hopefully after the carnival. He would begin to make his way downstairs before he would respond, he would open the door. He hugged Daisy and smiled. "I am ready to get my groove on," as he spoke he took out his phone and he would shoot a short response to Cyrus.

TO: Cyrus
I'm probably hanging out witha friend afterwards, raincheck?

Thankfully, Hayden appeared at the door relatively quickly, and she hugged him back. "Aw, look at you! Turns out you can put together a decent outfit without me," she teased. "Soon you'll be able to get ready for a date without having to consult me at all, even over text! She shoved her hands into the pockets of her jacket. "So, you good to go? Or do you need to sort anything else out here? she asked.

Hayden stuck his tongue out to the girl. "Yeah, Yeah, abuse me why don't you. I'll have you know I just like that woman's advice. On the fact of dates, he actually just texted me. I don't kknow if I want to hang out with him after the carnival." Out of Danny and Daisy, he told Daisy more about the one night-stand with the mystery man in freshman year of being at Fulton. Careful to not mention his name, he had explained a while back that he kinda liked this dude. But he had a tendency of being dragged to dinners, or important busines things by his father. He sighed, but smiled. "I'm ready to go, let's go have some fun."

Daisy raised her eyebrows in response to Hayden's comment about the boy. She didn't know who it was, but also didn't want to push him over it. "I mean, he ditched you, so it seems fair to me to do the same. Let's go have fun, forget about him for a few hours." She spun around and slung an arm over his shoulder. "Come on then. You're buying me a funnel cake."
