A group of modern day assassin's have been gathered to step into their ancestors shoes to discover the location of a Piece of Eden

Introduction

Stay your blade from the flesh of an innocent. Always be discreet, never compromise the Brotherhood. Nothing is true, everything is permitted. – The Assassin’s Creed.

Image

The year is 2012, and behind the closed doors of everyday life, rages a seemingly never ending battle between two ancient orders; On one side, lies the Templar order, sworn to achieve order and peace by any means necessary; even if it means plunging the world into a state of slavery under their rule to do it. The only thing standing in their way is the stealthy Assassins. And the secrets of the war today, lie in the wars of yesterday. A select group of assassins have been gathered to delve deep into their ancestors robes to relive their lives to find out the secrets of a Piece of Eden, now lost to both the Templar and the Assassins.

In the year 1230, war spreads like wildfire across Europe and most of the known world, both political and religious. At the heart of it all is the Templar order, bending the ruling classes and common man to their secret agendas. Stories of the Templar’s failed attempts to wipe out the Assassins, as well as stories of Altaïr and his triumph against the Templar have spread wide through the assassins of the world. You are part of a reconnaissance party sent to search for clues about a Piece of Eden, known as Eden’s Cross, an object that gives the wielder unnatural health; the wielder does not get sick or injure easily, they age seemingly slower, and have seemingly boundless energy. While not as powerful as some of the Pieces of Eden alone, when combined with others, it can be considered quite dangerous. For now, its whereabouts are unknown to both Assassin and Templar alike. We are to remedy that.

Toggle Rules

I only have a few rules, but I would like them followed.

1) Literacy. It's a big thing for me, but I'm going to try and not nitpick over everything, but I would really like it if everyone could use at least middle or high-school level grammar.

2) No godmodding, keep it PG-13, blah bleh blah.

3) Use original characters. No descendants of Altaïr or anything like that. This is my one absolute rule.

4) Make sure you read the introduction before just randomly jumping into the RP, please.

5) Make sure you have fun. I'm going to try and keep this as free-roam as possible while still piecing together some semblance of a story.

April 3rd, 2012: Mount Elbrus' Assassin Hideout, 12 Miles Below Ground Level

Haze. There was a thick haze over her eyes. She remembered things vaguely, like they were floating on the tips of her consciousness. She couldn’t move, her body as heavy as lead. She felt a prick in her right shoulder, followed by a rushing sensation, like she was falling; the burning in her veins flashed in and out of existence so quickly, you’d think someone was running liquid fire through them. She felt like she’d had one shot of Vodka too many. Finally, the haze began to recede a little, and voices began to materialize from the silence, along with machines beeping in the background. She was aware of a metallic ceiling looming blandly above her.

“…should be waking up shortly. They’ll be a little stiff from the induced comas, but they’ll be back to one hundred percent in a couple of hours. We’ll give them a little tour of the facility, let them get their bearings, and then strap them into the Animi tomorrow. Brad, give them a full physical check up, and then send them over to me so we can get them briefed. Most of them should already know what they signed up for, but we had to pull a civ or two with ties. After that, tour, then cut them loose to do whatever.”

Natasha attempted to move, but her body still felt like it was tied to lead bricks. With a groan, she lay there as the IV pumped more drugs into her, canceling out the drugs holding her in her forced paralysis. Finally she was able to sit up; unaware of whether or not anyone else had awoken. Someone was asking her question and poking and prodding her, flexing her muscles for her before telling her she was alright and that she should head out of the room, down the hall and it was the second door on her left. As the man left her, probably to attend to others, she shook her head and mumbled, “Eto bylo ne v broshyure.” (This wasn’t in the brochure.) She shook her head again to try and clear away the haze before getting to her feet. She gazed around the room. Just like her, people were waking up from their induced comas and coming back from a sleep like death. She stretched a little and prepared to meet the associates she would be working with for the next…who knew how long.

April 3rd, 2012: Mount Elbrus' Assassin Hideout, 12 Miles Below Ground Level

Sitting up slowly he brought his hand to his head.
"Haven't felt like this since CS gas training." The young man grunted. "I could use a stiff aspirin."
His muscles were sore, his head felt like it held an angry ape, who happened to be pounding about the inside of his skull.
It took a good moment to regulate his breathing. His body felt like it was on fire. But he had experinced it all before, which explained why he was able to move. His eyes finally began to stop burning enough for him to look around the room he was in. There were others waking up, but from their slow reaction time he could tell they hadn't had much experience being drugged. There seemed to be medical staff going to and from each person. When one of the "doctors" came up to him and began an examination, the young man answered quickly and swung his legs over the side of the small cot. "It's not my first time doc. They have the same means of recruitment."

The young man gazed down at the tiled floor, answering the doctor’s questions while his mind drifted somewhere else.
These people better help me find the bastards.
With a small amount of rage coursing through his veins he found the strength to hop off the cot and approach the doctor. While rotating his shoulder to stretch the muscles in his arm he spoke quickly to the medical staff.
"Escucha, amigo, no quiero perder el tiempo."
Listen, buddy, I don’t want to waste time.
"You got a gun range?"

Janie cracked open an eye, sluggishly expecting a wave of head pain from a hangover, even if she hadn't had one since her eighteenth birthday. When the pain didn't come, and instead of the ceiling of her room she saw bright lights, her mind started to catch up with her. She had volunteered for a project with the assassins, and they had knocked her out so that the templars wouldn't notice her and the others on this project being moved. She turned her head to test how stiff she was, and instantly regretted it as dizziness took over. She felt stiff too, she noted absently.
"Ach, what was dosage on that stuff?" She mumbled, moving slowly to sit up, trying not to anger the light headedness. She definately felt stiff, as her legs and arms screamed every inch she moved to sit up.
"How lang we been out?" She asked the nearest medic.

Xander started to come to. He groaned. He couldn't believe that he now knew how coma patients feel like. The black emptiness whating to wake up or to just die. The doctors were wrong there was no dreaming in a coma. He was stiff and in agony. When Xander tried to sit up he instantly regretted it. It was like every nerve ending was on fire. When Xander saw the other assassins waking up. His face, arms and hands were itchy as hell. He couldn't stop scratching them. "Remind me to NEVER volunter or be forced into a coma. If i do go into one later in life by an accident, FUCKING kill me." Xander groaned as he layed back down on the table. He started to strech his prized possessions, his fingers. Those saved Xander from many different situations.

Tyler groaned painfully as he opened his eyes and saw a white tiled ceiling above him and sat up in a room filled with people he didn't know, confused he looked around the last thing he rembered was had been walking down the street. "where am I why did you bring me here, look my parents they have money if you want ransom they'll pay it" Tyler said. Tyler saw the others look at him like he was crazy "wait I'm not being kidnapped am I?" Tyler asked with a confused look on his face.

Consciousness was not a gradual process for Wendy. One moment, she was floating through a haze of blackness, and the next, whatever was going on hit a fevered pitch, the humming at the back of her head increased to the frequency of a grating whine, and her eyes flew open at about the same time as her lungs pulled in a larger breath of air than she'd had since... since what?

Her irises flicked about the room, taking in all the unfamiliar electronic equipment, the sterile floors, the people at variable levels of grogginess. Some looked like they knew what was happening, but... Wendy realized that she most certainly did not. Searching her fuzzy headspace for the last memory she could bring to mind, she could find nothing more recent than heading back to her apartment after class and a shift at the restaurant. It had been afternoon, on... what date? She couldn't remember.

None of that mattered, though, because she clearly wasn't there now, and something was very, very wrong. She shot upward, almost falling back onto the examination table she lay on when her head began to spin. Gripping the cold, smooth steel at the side of the platform, she focused on the sensations it produced and nothing else, willing the swimming feeling to abandon her, blinking slowly a few times to fully readjust to the bright artificial lights in the space.

"Wendy Zhang?" The way the name was pronounced clued her in to the language of the speaker, so she replied in English.

"Who are you? What is this place? Why have you brought me here?" The questions were leveled quickly, on the heels of one another, though without any sort of accusation, just further befuddlement.

The doctor, a middle-aged woman with chin-cropped blond hair, sighed. "I guess this makes you one of the civilians then."

"Civilians?"

The woman nodded impatiently. "It'll all be explained eventually. Just hold out your wrist so I can take your pulse."

It was all a bit too much for Wendy, and though she wanted to resist, to demand that they take her back to her apartment and her father, to say that no, she absolutely would not sit here and submit to whatever this stranger wanted, she knew that this would most likely get her nowhere. Maybe once she had more information, she would know what she was dealing with, but for now, she would just have to watch and wait.

She young woman's gaze fell to the floor, and she extended her left arm passively.

Slowly Victor woke up from the drugged coma. Slowly dragging his right and to his face and groaned outloud, taking in deep slow breaths. "I feel like as if I just got got done drinking a barrel full of moonshine.." Victor groaned out as he slowly sat his head in his hands. Wearing only a simple black T-shirt and camo Cargo pants, Victor dug into his pockets looking for his glasses. When he finally put them on, he saw that he was not alone and watched as a doctor came to him. "ya ya doc..im fine..besides the fact I just came out of a coma..I feel great" Half ignoring the doctor's questions Victor stood up and started to stretch out his body.

Pops and cracks echoed as his stiff muscles were pushed around and stretched. "Hey I had a bag with me..It better be in my quarters when I get there.."Victor said obviously not in a good mood. He agreed to this, but still anyone waking up from a drug coma would not be in a good mood. The Assassin order found him and recuited him while he was hiding out in Germany. The Templars had tried to get him to join them for some reason, but he did not trust them and so he ran.

Shaking his head once more Victor followed the others out. Taking a glance around or tow around, Victor saw the people he would be working with for who knows how long. Soon enough he would find out who these people were that he would be working with.

After a few minutes Percival finally opened his eye lids, which to say felt like someone had tied weights to them to keep them shut. His entire body hurt like hell as he slowly lifted his head from the pillow to get a better view. He looked around to find himself in a large room filled with doctors. After a moment he also noted other beds with people in them, who too looked like they had just woken up.

"So here we are", he thought to himself. "When they said they were going to give me some drugs I didn't think they were going to give me enough to knock out an elephant. Then again better safe then sorry," Percival thought.

He sat himself up. His body still hurt but he already felt the pain lessening. Now he had a better look at everyone in the room, many of who he was going to be working with. "Good morning everyone," he found himself saying as a smile came to his lips.

A number of words flooded into Nero’s mind as he gradually regained feeling in his body, and awareness around him. Slowly he opened his eyes, glancing around the room he was in, beds were scattered here and there with other people that were wakening up on them, along with what must be doctors in the room. Must be time to work. Feeling his muscles pop and ache he slowly pulled himself into a sitting position. His vision was a little blurry at first “shiiiiit.” He said aloud, stretching the word a little as he brought his left hand and rubbed his eyes. “I would kill for a damn cigarette right now.” His vision became clearer after a few seconds as he stood up and stretched. Ugh, maybe this wasn’t as good idea as I thought it was. He shook the thought off and reached into the back pocket of his denim jeans, pulling out a lighter with an American flag on it, he then proceeded to check his other pockets for his pack of smokes before remembering he used his last cig before being put in the coma. “Fuck, hey anyone got any smokes?” he calls out to the others in the room.

Upon hearing the request, Henry reached inside of his jacket and pulled out a pack of marlbros. He didn't smoke, but he liked to chew on them once in a while. He walked towards the door tossing the man the pack of cigarettes. "Go crazy rookie." Henry tried to exit the room when a member of the medical team blocked his way. "Sorry sir, we have to keep you here with the others." The so called "doctor" mumbled nervously.
Henry sighed and leaned against the wall. "Can we hurry this up? I need to practice my shot."

When his eyes flicked open, David was overcome by a drowsiness that made him want to just fall asleep all over again. He forced himself to sit up straight, which he instantly regretted doing, as he threw up all over the floor near his bed. Looks like they feed us He knew this because there was no way that his lunch from a few days ago would still be in his system. One of the doctor, or what ever they were, came up to him and asked if he was okay. "No, I just came out of coma, not to mention spewing my guts all over the floor, so no I'm perfect." he said sarcastically. As soon as he finished talking he started vomiting again, this time over the his doctor's front side. "Well there goes my stomach." The doctor handed him a bucket and continued to check his vitals while David cotinued to puke. When he felt good enough he tried to give the bucket back the doctor. "No you keep it, you might need it later." He said before leaving the room. David did a quick look around the room and noted that almost everyone was already awake. He tried to stand up but his legs didn't want to listen to him yet. He looked at the man standing by the door and wondered how in the world he was standing. "You lucky basterd. They must of given you lest then the rest of us." He said.

Stretching his neck some more and finally getting it to pop, Victor moved over to the door only getting a slight dizzyness in his head and smiled at the guy blowing chunks into a bucket. "must be a Civilian" Victor said as he leaned against the wall next to the door and looked at Henry. Crossing his arms and nodding to the man. "Victor Crews, US Army..Weapons Specialist." Simple and too the point for a introduction. If he was going to work with these people, he might as well get to know some of them. Starting with this guy, who hopefully would not turn out to be a stuck up ass like the last guy he tried to work with in Germany as a help in a gun shop.

Nero caught the pack; he pulled one out and tossed the pack back to the one he received it from. “Watch who your calling rookie. You might just find out otherwise…the hard way.” He placed the cig in his mouth and lit it with his lighter, placing the lighter back in his pocket. He took one last stretch and walked over to the door, standing alongside the man who gave him the cig. He looked the doctor up and down. Wonder if he actually thinks he could stop any of us from leaving if we wanted to. Judging by his body language no. he turned to the man beside him and offered his hand. “Names Nero. Former mercenary, specialization: marksmanship. You?” He says as he exhales some smoke might as well get acquainted, now that I’m not on my own anymore. Not to mention it seems I’m going to be around this group for quite a while. The after effects of the coma were fading quickly; the ones left barely effected him. After enduring 3 in a half years of torture once after being captured by one of his targets he could withstand a hell of a lot more than the urge to vomit. At least I killed him in the end.

Henry turned towards this new acquaintance. He grinned and placed a cigarette in his mouth, and jokingly turned his head back and forth from person to person. "One at a time boys." Not so much as not finding a country, more like as a merc i can turn down and accept any job i want. Including jobs that have to do with killing Templers." U.S marksman. Well i suppose i can get along with him. Maybe not as well as i would if he were Russian but enough to count. Not many people would realize that Nero is half Russian, he looked more like his American father than his mother and had a American accent. It was as well considering he didn't care to tell anyone. It wasn't that he hated his Russian side, quite the opposite. but if no one was smart enough to figure it out for themselves why should he care?"Whats your weapon of choice then huh? if you don't mind me asking." A man can tell a lot about someone by the weapon they used, more than many would think. At least, most of the time.

"Will you shut up and analyze the situation before you speak?" Henry began to bite his cigarette, he didn't tolerate ignorance of the military. "How in the world would a government be involved with a russian merc, a us special forces soldier, and a weapons specialist? First off if this was a traditonal military op you'd probably have a seal team on your ass. Seccond why would the soldiers be knocked out with their target?" Ethan looked at the man who asked the question and scoffed. He turned back to the merc. "I used mission specifics. If I had to enter foregin territory I would usually use the Dragunov SVD with a flash suppressor." Henry began to chew on the cigarette. "For defensive and counter sniping ops, the M40A3. And for patrols, the M110" Ethan turned to the doctor who blocked his way. "Hey how much longer till I can shoot?"

You use a Russian origin rifle. I can respect that." Nero made no comment on the part of his earlier sentence identifying him as Russian. damn good gun. "I myself tend to use a Barrett m-107 stealth sniper. Unless the job requires something else that is." Nero turned to victor. "So, your U.S to ya? somehow i feel out of place." Wonder how many other different nationalities we have in this room His eyes looked from person to person, regarding the civilians longer than the others. civis, wonder why they had to get them too. Percival let out a loud sigh as he stood from his bed. That dizzy feeling had finally gone away and the pain was almost gone too. But as he stood up he made sure to notice how things were going in the room. It seemed to him that everyone in the room was divided into two groups, ex-military or civilians. He straightened his shirt and patted down his hair in an attempt to look like he didn't just roll out of bed. Slowly he made his way to the doors the two soldiers stood in front of. He might just be 17 but even he knew to stow respect to those he would be working with. He approached the men, clicked his heels together, and saluted them. Smiling he extended his hand. "My name is Percival John Thomas and it is an honor to meet the both of you."

Re: [OOC] Assassin's Creed:

So I've noticed some activity in this RP after like, forever and a half. I guess if enough people are still interested in it, I can get it started again or something.

((Just so the name doesn't confuse anyone, this RP isn't based on the new Assassin's Creed Game that just got released. This RP had its name way before the game came out.))

Otherwise, the RP is sorta dead. Just thought I'd put that out there as a sort of courtesy call.

Re: [OOC] Assassin's Creed:

Trust me, I know the feeling, what with college, and family, and blah blah blah. *rambles*

Anyway, hopefully we can keep moving and I will actually post once in a blue moon.

Re: [OOC] Assassin's Creed:

i'm sorry man RL was kinda in the way i had to stay off the Computer until i got a new antivirus thing

Re: [OOC] Assassin's Creed:

It happens man. just gotta keep moving us forward. RL happens that way.

Re: [OOC] Assassin's Creed:

I was kinda waiting on other people to post and , but I guess if nobody posts soon, I'll go ahead and post and move us along to the next day. I feel like we're kinda dying here...

Re: [OOC] Assassin's Creed:

Im on a small trip right now visiting my family, so my current acess is limited. When I get back next weekend I will post. Besides my guy is sitting on his bed so should not cause to much trouble.

Re: [OOC] Assassin's Creed:

Damn, okay, I took a look at the character sheets and two of our members look like they've dropped out. Kuro messaged me about it, so I expected that. However, Reap's char is abandoned as well, although that might be the old one that got mis-submited, I don't know. The lack of a post either here or in the IC leads me to believe that Reap withdrew as well. Therefore, I'm going to go ahead and put their chars in a neutral place out of the way, since I don't know about Reap and Kuro could come back at a later date.

I'm working something out with jackrules so expect to see a post that may or may not contain some BS up from me very soon.

Re: [OOC] Assassin's Creed:

I'm here, though I have little to do but twiddle my thumbs at the moment.

Re: [OOC] Assassin's Creed:

don't worry i'm here too, a post will be up shortly

Re: [OOC] Assassin's Creed:

I check a few times a day so I am out here watchin, but it is holidays and just wanted to let everyone know Ima be gone for about ten days. Family gathering going on and i got a plan to catch tomorrow

Re: [OOC] Assassin's Creed:

I wouldn't worry too much about it, Nobody really seems to be responding at the moment, and just knowing someone is still out there is comforting, lol. I hate this time of the year for roleplays, what with the holidays and school. Bleeeeeh.

Re: [OOC] Assassin's Creed:

I know, but I don't want to interrupt the very first animus sessions.

Re: [OOC] Assassin's Creed:

I wish someone would post...All of my RP's have come to a dead stop, and it's unnerving.

Re: [OOC] Assassin's Creed:

I'm sorry i haven't posted for a LONG time, have a really bad Writers block so can't think of anything yet, when it passes I'll post right away.

Re: [OOC] Assassin's Creed:

As fair warning, next time I post with Janie, I'm going to unleash the full power of her accent. If you have trouble understanding her, say her dialogue out loud, and if that doesn't work, tell me and I'll ease off the accent.

Re: [OOC] Assassin's Creed:

Hey everyone, it's been a while. If you'll notice, two new locations have opened up in the places tabs. To keep this roleplay organized, I'm going to be updating the places Tab as new areas are unlocked, which should help you to keep your bearings on what happens where. While I would like you to try and use the places drop down menu in your posts, you do not absolutely have to. I hope everyone had an awesome holiday season and is enjoying New Years! Stay safe and have fun, everyone!

Re: [OOC] Assassin's Creed:

Haha, I kinda figured that, it's okay. =)

Re: [OOC] Assassin's Creed:

Bloody hell, sorry Kurokiku, I never saw your post with Wendy introducing herself! Maybe I can pass it off as Janie being a wee bit deaf in the ear you talked into. It's not that wierd, everyone in the highlands talks loudly, I swear highlanders could hold conversations on the peaks of different hills.

Re: [OOC] Assassin's Creed:

No sweat, Henry and Salina can duke it out later at a game. She has some really important techno-babble stuff to attend to.

Re: [OOC] Assassin's Creed:

It seems I missed that little memo, yeah I meant Salina but I suppose we can ignore and just stick with the open challenge.
