Hui-gyeong

I'm living proof that being lucky is better than being smart

0 · 818 views · located in fantasy

a character in “Avalon's fall”, as played by rpannier

Description

Hui-gyeong is a 16 year old girl about 5'2" tall and just shy of a hundred pounds; she can easily be mistaken for someone a tad younger than she is. She is cute. Her skin is an almond color. Her eyes are brown, her mouth, ears and nose are small, but proportional and suitable to her size. She has long, straight black hair that hangs almost to her knees. She usually wears her hair in a pony tail or in twin tails (she carries pieces of twine to tie her hair with). Hui-gyeong is also thin.
Seeing her up close, she often looks tired/exhausted.
She comes from the lowest end of the society. She dresses in a dark tunic that covers half-way to her knees, though it appears a little small on her. It is old and somewhat worn. She wears high soft boots that come up to her knees, and like her tunic they are old looking as well. She travels mostly on foot, so it's not uncommon for her to look dirty and bedraggled.

(Will post an avatar when I find a good one)

Personality

Hui-gyeong is, to say the least, rather manic. By nature, she is a pleasant girl, who likes to have fun and enjoys seeing new things. She is inquisitive. By nurture, she is wary of others, this is due to her childhood. Hui-gyeong is self-absorbed in how she sees the world; she feels her misery is probably worse than most, she is self-conscious over whether she has offended others, she is cautious.
She is a survivor and is constantly in 'Survival Mode.' This causes her to be stressed a lot and contributes to her looking tired and sounding whiny.
When she meets someone for the first time she is often guarded, keeps a safe distance from the new person and her eyes constantly dart around the area making sure that everything is safe. She will be overly polite, figuring that by doing so she is less likely to raise suspicion or cause an issue with the other person.
Once she is comfortable in an environment, she is much more fun to be around and likes to try new things with the group and to learn more about each person; sometimes to the point of being annoyingly nosy.
While she is highly protective if her things, she is touchy when it comes to someone else's items. When she sees something she doesn't understand or she sees something new that interests her, her first response is to scout it and once she's decided it's safe, she touches and holds it to get a better appreciation of the item. This has lead to a misunderstanding or two with local merchants, who figure the girl has more sinister plans for the object.
When confronted by a dangerous or overwhelming situation, her response is to flee until the threat has gone.
She comes from an area where girls were not respected or wanted. A product of her upbringing, she believes she is 'a stupid girl' of no particular worth. In addition to her low self-esteem, she is somewhat self-pitying.

Equipment

She wears a dark tunic; the color could either be a fading black, dark blue or olive green. It's so old, it's hard to tell to anyone looking. Around her waist is a belt that hangs a pouch that she keeps the few coins she carries and a dagger. Around her neck she wears a bone white flat pendant with a lt blue stone in the middle attached to a string that she uses a necklace. The pendant is a gift from an old man she met on her travels. The pendant and stone, while interesting looking, are of little value to a fence.
She carries a pack on her back that she keeps an old blanket, another old, dark tunic, a bowl, a small cloth with a few valuable rocks wrapped in it and a pair of sticks that she eats with. The sticks are the only thing she owns of fine quality, made of crafted bone. (She never touches her food and she needs the sticks to be constantly clean even if she isn't).
In a small bag she has a few herbs that she uses for seasoning food.

History

Born into a very poor family in the remote northeastern province of Moondeok, Hui-gyeong had a very hard life as a girl; her life was made more difficult in that the people of Moondeok consider girls to be a net minus. She had three brothers who died before their second birthday. Her father was a horrid man, who treated her badly and her mother was also fairly useless, never once coming to defense of the beatings her daughter took.
Most of Moondeok is either mountainous or farmland, it has a half dozen cities, with it's largest being Saergahl, a border community where almost all trade with the outside world takes place. In Saergahl, almost anything is a commodity and at the age of thirteen, Hui-gyeong found herself a commodity. Her mother gave birth to another son and her father wanted money to assure his survival, so he took Hui-gyeong to Saergahl to see what he could get for her. He shopped her around to various men of ill-fame; slavers, brothel owners and others trying to see what he could fetch as a price for his oldest child.
He found a buyer, a well-dressed, older man missing an eye. He took an odd interest in Hui-gyeong; he seemed more interested in her "potential" than in her. He offered ten times the highest offer and the deal was done.
The man had her placed in a special cage on the back of a cart, with orders to never be allowed out of the cart for any reason until they got to the coast. While every other purchase was forced to walk the distance, she was the only one who rode. Along the trip Hui-gyeong got sick and the men let her out to clean the wagon and allow her to heal. As they waited a mist formed, eventually turning into a fog. The diversion allowed her to escape.
She ultimately sought refuge with an old man who also found her "interesting" and "of great potential." He fed her, cared for her when she was sick, gave her clothes and a bed of her own. He spent much of their time together just talking to her, teaching her how to recognize good plants from bad, how to heal her wounds, how to cook, etc. He also taught her to be wary of others, for evil is everywhere.
She lived there until she was half-way to fifteen and then he gave her a backpack, a knife, some clothes, a blanket and other items and told her it was time for her to move on and meet her destiny. Before she left, he gave her the pendant that she threaded into a cheap string necklace she wore around her neck and she was off.
A few times she was pursued by slavers (and others). She would often find some old hovel, a tree, a cave or ditch to hide in. Each escape was met with the mist forming, eventually becoming a thick fog that prevented the men from pursuing her any further. On one occasion a trio of slavers nearly caught her. She slipped in an open field as they closed in. Suddenly a wind appeared almost out of nowhere and picked up every stalk, every leaf, grain of sand and light rock and assaulted the men forcing them into retreat, half-blinding two of the men.
She was traveling through the mountains of Lanaton when the creatures struck Avalon. She is on a muddy road in Avalon.

Hui-gyeong is an elemental magic-user, her element is air (though she possesses a little water ability). Her magic right now is limited to the above mentioned and it's not particularly powerful (compared to accomplished wizards), but it is effective. Her magic is channeled through her emotions and affects her physically when she uses them:
The fog/mist is a protective spell and has no malicious intent to it, so after the event is over she is often left dazed and confused or giddy and silly.
The wind is an attack spell and comes from her deepest, darkest emotions. Her hatred for her father, her mother, the community, the slavers, anyone who has ever mistreated her is where this spell originates in her psyche. It is a negative magic that is destructive and it makes her light headed, confused and very sick; depending on the level of energy she expends it can incapacitate her for more than a couple of days.
In rare instances, the wind will surface to protect her, but will not cause damage to anyone or anything. While it is not a malicious, it's effects certainly are, because she still loses much of her energy and her headache is just as intense as if she were attacking someone or something.
She does not realize that she is the source of the magic and that she can cast it. Being fairly superstitious, she believes that she has a 'Messenger' that is protecting her and when he is forced to save her, punishes her with confusion or illness to remind her to be smarter.

So begins...

Checking, his leg over checking for sever injuries, that was until he was called down "You...guy...boy...whatever. You wanna get down here!" He grows curious, grabbing his sword he limps himself down the stairs, tripping down one bruising his ankle, he grinds his teeth in pain, rushing down as fast as he could, he catches himself before tripping again, relaxing finally getting down the stairs he sees the torso of a man, his eyes widen. He hears the demon crying and roaring, he thought it fell down and was weakened, so he went in for the attack.

He rushed, as fast as he could noticing that the demon was down, with some sort of shard's in it's eyes. He thought this would be the final blow, that was until he tripped after forgetting about his leg. He let's go of his sword and it goes flying towards the demon's wrist. Naddel pushing himself upward and forward. The sword landed in the wrist the demon screaming louder, Naddel covers his ears and falls to the ground, the demon lowers it's roars, Naddel goes for the sword, he pulls it out slowly and limps to it's neck.
Closing his eyes he pulls the sword backward.

Kumiko clings to the edge of the crate trying to pull herself up, when one of those things makes its grand entrance. She'd seen creatures like it from a distance and they seemed scary enough. But, up close, it looked even more menacing. "The Gods of Chance and Good Fortune be damned." she whimpers. "How did I get..." she stopped and redirected her thoughts. She needed to get out of this spot and prepare for battle. Kumiko looked down at the thick white soup that covered the ground and was rising. She debated whether to take her chances and drop into it, or climb.

Before she can make her decision, a wind whipped up in the room. It danced about, growing at a feverish, seemingly angered pitch. It collected every loose piece of wood, metal, whatever, until it was no longer clear, but instead was a thick swirling mass of black. "The Gods be Praised." she gaped in awe. Kumiko had no idea where that wind came from, but its timing was perfect. The wind had caught the attention of the hideous creature and seemed to be intimidating to the monster.

Kumikjo took this opportunity to pull herself up on top of the crate, to get to a better vantage point to see what was happening and figure out where the wind was coming from, when the girl cried out with an awful shriek and then the wind fired the items it had collected into the demon.
"The girl is a wizard of some kind." Kumiko whispered. "A pretty damned powerful one, too." She uttered in awe. She was confused as to why the girl seemed so... so helpless. Every wizard she had ever met was arrogant, cocky and reeked of confidence. But she was so shy and demure in behavior. The girl looked sick, as if she had all her energy sapped and then fell off the bed onto the floor.
Kumiko returned her attention back to the creature fell backwards, it's recent confidence shattered with its eyesight, it howled in pain grabbing at it's eyes to get the tiny fragments out. Kumiko would have felt badly for the thing if it weren't for the fact it would have had no problem ripping her apart. From the stairs she saw the boy limping down and then toward the creature. If he is going to get the monster, then Kumiko knew she needed to get the girl off the floor and out of the foggy soup.
Kumiko lept off the crate and onto the floor, giving her enough distance that she was sure she wouldn't identically land on the girl. Once on the floor, she looked around making sure nothing was in the fog lying in wait. Satisfied, she grabbed the girl and pulled her to the bed. Just in time to turn and see the boy dispatch the demon.
"Nice job!" Kumiko called out. "You're a real hero!"

The energy release has tapped Hui-gyeong out. It's fortunate that there was only one of those things. She clings over Kumiko not providing much help to the younger girl trying to get her off the floor. When she finally reaches her feet she falls back onto the bed.
"God, my head hurts." she mutters groggily. "I'm... I'm so tired. Is... Is everyone okay?" she asks, her eyes shut tight, her body limp on the bed.
"Nice job! You're a real hero!" Kumiko shouts, irritating Hui-gyeong's already hurting head.
Hui-gyeong smiles. She figures that must mean that Naddell killed the creature and they're safe.

Holding his sword, at the place where he sliced, breathing hard as that took much more out of him than expected, being bruised and battered like that was a real challenge, pulling his sword up and peers at the empty slot where the door used to be, while a chill goes on his chest, remembering of what happened with that demon with claws, was it still looking for him he stuck his head out the door frame.

He felt something hasn't felt in a long time, a drop of water hitting his head, although it was week, it still was a warning for the storm, or the rain shower ahead. Chuckling remembering the last time he played in the rain, Although something off was about the rain water, so- Naddel looks up at the sky and for the first time notices the dark red sky, his jaw open a few rain drops falling in his mouth, shocked he walks backward, looking over at them, his eyebrows lifted, staying quiet.
After a few moments he blurts out "That wasn't really expected."

"That was fantastic! Both of you!" Kumiko shouted whirling around to Naddell after putting a blanket over the wiped out Hui-gyeong. "I mean it was amazing! Now I know why you two survived -- a wizard and a warrior. Wow!" She looked over at her bread on the floor, "Odds!" she cusses, "That was supposed to last me for a few days. So how longs have you two been traveling together anyhew?" she asked picking around to see if any of the bread didn't wind up on the floor, "You boyfriend-girlfriend? You're a cute couple." she looked around and everything was on the floor, ruined, "Damn it! Well, it's now food for the four-legged rats instead of the two-legged kind." she says laughing. "Guess I'll just have to steal some..." she stopped her sentence short realizing she just confessed to being a thief.

Kumiko blushed, "Okay look, I took it all right. But, I didn't exactly steal it. Everyone was dead okay? It was fair game for who ever took it." she pauses and looks at both of them to make sure they're not going to attack her, "I got there first. I'd have tried to explain to that gorilla over there but he wasn't in any mood to listen to reason. And now explaining anything to him would be useless. I'd have to find his head first." That last thought worried her. That thing that killed him, did it with his bare hands. What chance did a thief-girl have against that monster?

He had suspicions, although action against it would not take anything. So he just went along with another topic, if anything she helped and she wasn't a threat, as of now at least and he hoped she never would. "That might as well, is the least of our concerns currently, this a direct entrance for demons to come inside, I suggest we move upstairs before anything, and try to stay out of those things' sights."

Helping Hui up the stairs, he groaned in pain each step, though baring it he continues upwards. After they make it up the stairs he suggested a blockade against the demons, Something quick, as they must of heard us!

Kumiko nodded agreeing with Naddell. The most important thing was getting some place safe and getting ready to defend. Also, it kept the focus of the group off of her idiotic confession. While Naddell helped Hui-gyeong up the stairs, Kumiko followed, sword drawn, watching behind in case another one of its friends decided to avenge the dead creature.

"I can't believe I'm doing this?" her internal voice scolds, "I should just leave. I'm not a hero. Hell, I'm not even a decent acquaintance." Kumiko debates making a run for it but decides against it, "Where would I go? Besides, together there are three of us. Alone..." she looks at the body of the guard that had been chasing her below, "I'd be dead."

Naddell doesn't have to explain himself once they're upstairs. She agrees they need a blockade of some kind and she sets about pushing boxes and furniture and anything else she can to block the stairs and the balcony. She hopes it's enough to hide them from sight of those things. By the time they're finished she is exhausted, "That was hard work." she huffs. "It's too bad she's out of it. We could use some of that magic right now." she steps away from both of them and leans against the wall, "So, how come your girlfriend is so damned tired. What kind of magic does she use?"

He along with tires out with pushing the crates. "Magic, I didn't even know she could do anything with magic, although that explains the things in the demon's eyes." Naddel walking over to the window looks at the red sky, he questions what dark magic this is.
He questions it's ever aspect, and goes to look back at them, He determined himself to find anyone who still is alive that lived in this kingdom.

"Well, I'm gonna get some rest, he pulls his leggings up to check on his injuries, surprisingly many of them are just scabs others though look like wounds, that will eventually turn into scars, pushing his leggings down to cover his exposed ankles,
"If there is anything you need to catch upon, or if you want to run away go ahead" He chuckles to himself before closing his eyes

Hui-gyeong is too tired to make the journey upstairs by herself, Naddel's help is not only necessary, but appreciated. She's confused as to who the wizard is that Kumiko is walking about. She can't see anyone else in the building, but with hert blurry vision and her aching head it's always possible.
Naddel sets her on a place to rewst and Hui-gyeong lays listening to their conversation, she's in too much pain to sleep.

"Magic, I didn't even know she could do anything with magic, although that explains the things in the demon's eyes." Naddel tells the girl a surprise in his voice.
Hui-gyeong is beginning to understand that they're talking about her. "I'm not a wizard," she mutters. "I don't know how to do magic." her voice is so soft and garbled she isn't even sure they can hear or understand her.
She lays for several more moments and falls asleep, exhausted from the days events.

Kumiuko stood watching Naddel climb into bed and rest, "If there is anything you need to catch upon, or if you want to run away go ahead" he said laughing to himself, as if that's even an option.
"Yeah, right." Kumiko said with a sarcastic laugh. "Where would I go?" She stared down at the floor below her thinking about whether or not she should leave, "I'll stand guard in case those things come back." she told Naddel unsure if he was even awake. "Someone needs to be responsible. Someone needs to protect the group." she muttered. She thought about what she just said, "That's depressing... That someone is me."
When she heard Hui-gyeong muttering on the bed she pranced over and leaned down to listen to what she said, "I'm not a wizard,I don't know how to do magic." the girl said.
Kumiko leans up, a confused look on her face, "Of course you are and you do." she told the older girl. "You were great too." Kumiko leaned back against a box and thought about it. "Maybe she doesn't know?" she thought. "Can you be a wizard and not know you are?" she wondered. Every wizard she's ever seen had received formal training, all of them except for..."That's it!" she cried, "You're an..." she stops talking, realizing she was asleep. "You're an elemental wizard." she whispered. And from the type of magic she used, Kumiko was pretty sure it was Air.

Hui-gyeong sleeps the sleep of the dead; her whole body is drained from the use of magic and when she wakes up she's still exhausted. "Oh, my head hurts." she mutters holding her head, "I'm still exhausted." she whispers. She looks over at Naddel who's still sleeping and realizes she's upstairs, "How did I..." she thinks back to earlier, the demon, the body, the door, "That's right, Naddel got me up here." She rolls over to see if Kumiko is around. It's still a bit dark and there are areas of the loft that are shielded from light. Finally she thinks she sees her, yep, Kumiko is near the barricade standing guard, "God, she must be tired."
Hui-gyeong thinks back to last night and the demon. She remembers Naddel killing the beast, but the rest is foggy. Slowly the events begin to unfold; the fear she felt when the something hit the door. Then the body coming through the door and the beast standing there soaked in blood. The fog rising all around them from the floor. Then a wind, a seemingly angered whirlwind appearing before the demon releasing a load of shot into the creature. She's remembering all of that now. "Kumiko thinks I'm a... I'm a... wizard?"

Hui-gyeong tries to sit up, but when she does it feels like all the blood rushes straight into her head. It pounds and throbs like it's about to explode. She falls back down holding covering her face, "God, I'm dying." she moans, "What have I done to anger the Gods so that they'd curse me with such a miserable affliction." she continues with her pained wail.

-Dream Post-
Naddel's dreams are very unlike his personalty other dreams, dream of others who are not around him, maybe his parents and how he effected them or someone here in this town has been killed, mostly his thoughts giving him a pain. Though this dream, it was different he was in a field of some sort, going upward running from something, not knowing what, looking back he sees two figures, crawling in the tall grass, running faster, though starting to feel tired, Naddel looks back again now they're are four of those things and they are closer.

Each time it got worse, the suspense everything, then he made himself feel tired, and eventually crawling, and that's where the dream ended. Naddel wakes up, and here's a sound of pain and wail looking over his own shoulder he lifts an eyebrow, questioning his surroundings not knowing who the wail is from he questions "Are you okay?!"

Kumiko stood peering down to the floor below watching for anyone or anything entering. "God, I'm so bored." she thought. But being bored is better than having one of those things come in. "It's the least I can do for them. They killed that thing." She wondered if she should go down and move that thing from the door way. It's visible from the street and would probably attract another one of those things, but nothing has come so far.

"God, I'm dying." Hui-gyeong moans in pain, "What have I done to anger the Gods so that they'd curse me with such a miserable affliction." Kumiko walked over to check on her when Naddel wakes, "Are you okay?!" he asks from his sleeping place.

Kumiko stands near Hui-gyeong smiling with a look of "I know something you don't know." on her face. "Well, good morning." she snickers, "Or better yet, good evening. It's about 3 in the morning, I think. So how are my favorite warrior and wizard doing?" she looks at both of her tired and weakened compatriots, "I hate to tell you this but the gods haven't afflicted you with anything. It's what happens when you cast elemental magic. I've seen a few wizards in my days and since you don't know you're one and can cast... you're an elemental wizard. My guess... you're air. That's 'cuz you make wind and you get light headed and sick afterwords. I met one once, he said it was the worst feeling in the world. Cuz yours is all emotion. Angry, scared, nervous you cast." She returns to her perch, looking down at the floor beneath her, "I'd suggest you learn how to control that ability of yours. 'cuz we're gonna need you and you're gonna need to learn to control it in case you get attacked several times. Does no one any good if you kill or blind one of them and three more show up and you're laid out on the ground moaning in agony. Okay?"

Kumiko didn't want to have to be so rude. She's a nice girl and all, but they're in a bad spot and it's not the time to be holding her hand.

Pushing himself upward and rubbing his eyes, thinking about the events in his dreams before they slip his mind, not long after going back to the events at hand, guessing by the voice and emotion of the grump, it's that girl who's name slipped his mind, she's been up the whole night till now guarding, she really needs some rest, but she seems partly aggravated so that won't be the best of his ideas currently

Although, it's not the best part of the next day, he says that she should rest and he'll guard till the morning sun blooms out of the sky. Refusing any movements against the rest, he insists continuously that she should rest if she would offer to refuse, not meaning to be forceful, but she'd let her guard down any longer, Naddel looks out the window keeping the distraction of the blood red sky against his eyes, instead he look's at the ground, seeing few, but hearing many, no screams, meaning no survivors.
hoping no demons saw his glance against the outside, he hurries over to the crates to weight himself, but not to much or he would fall down the stairs, injuring and exposing himself and everyone else.

Hui-gyeong lay on the bed half-listening to the girl's madness, "I hate to tell you this but the gods haven't afflicted you with anything. It's what happens when you cast elemental magic. I've seen a few wizards in my days and since you don't know you're one and can cast... you're an elemental wizard. My guess... you're air..."
"The girl is afflicted with something or just too scared that she's lost here senses." Hui-gyeong is sure of that.
But it's the next part of her explanation that catches her attention, "Cuz yours is all emotion. Angry, scared, nervous you cast."

"That is true." Hui-gyeong nods. She watches through the blur of pain as the girl returns to her station watching the area down below.

Hui-gyeong ponders what the girl has just said. It's not easy to do so, the pain in her head is horrid and she's drained of most of her energy. She wants to go back to sleep, but she can't. "Maybe the girl might be right." she wonders. "Could it have been me all along?" Rather than dismiss it any longer she wonders if it could be her. She's always assumed she was a stupid girl because that's what her father and brothers told her she was, what her village said. But they said that to all the girls and they were more adamant in their negative appraisal if the girl showed any real talent. While they always heaped loads of praise on even the most imbecilic boy.
"If I am... If I am a wizard..." she whispers, "How do I control it?" she asks hoping the girl has some sort of answer.

Kumiko fumbles through her bag looking for some rope. "He's never going to get that stuff out from the stairway. And he shouldn't." Kumiko's plan is simpler and better. She's going to scale down and go look for food. "Here it is!" she says happily pulling out the rope. "I'm gonna go..." she says turning around and seeing Naddel climbing out a window. He's out the window before she can get him and pull him in. "Oh, great. I'm stuck babysitting." she moans. She ties the rope to the railing in case he comes running back into the building and needs help up, "What an idiot. He's injured and going out there." she's angry, but more because she's worried about him. With his injury he'll be no match for those things out there. Not that she's a better fighter, she's just more mobile, better able to hide and get away than he is.

Kumiko sits on the bed next to the pained Hui-gyeong, "You'll be okay. I think as your energy comes back the pain goes away." she tells her brushing her hair with her fingers, "You're very beautiful you know. You'll be okay. I'll stay and watch. Fell fortunate you're not a fire elemental wizard. I've never met one, but I hear they get all aroused and need to have sex." she laughs at the thought of some wizard running around begging someone for sex. "I hope he's going to be okay."

Hui-gyeong lays listening to the girl explain what she knows, if anything, about elemental wizards. It's an intriguing thought; being a wizard. Her description is odd in that, it does describe how she feels after every encounter with her 'jinn.'
"Maybe there is something to what she is saying." Hui-gyeong ponders, "Maybe..." she stops herself. "Foolishness!" she tells herself. "I'm not that smart."
She lays on the bed as the younger girl brushes her fingers through Hui-gyeong's long hair. It feels nice. It's been a long time since she had any real contact with other people. She sighs and giggles when Kumiko mentions the fire elemental wizards and their 'curse.' If what the girl says is true she's glad she's not one of those.
When the girl goes quiet, Hui-gyeong returns to thinking about what she said, "Could I be a wizard? Her description is what happens. Maybe there is something to it." Hui-gyeong looks up at Kumiko, "Tell me. How do I learn to control my magic?"

Kumiko giggles when the girl asks her how to control her powers, "Silly, I don't know magic. I'm not a wizard. I'm just a simple girl of the streets. I move from place-to-place, town-to-town seeking food and shelter. It's all I need. I don't owe anybody and they don't owe me. No family." she says in a sing-song voice, sounding proud of her independence.
"That's what I like about me. Freedom." she says happily.
Kumiko stops to think about something, then she climbs up and peers out through the window Naddel exited from. She drops and looks downstairs, her smile gone from her lips, a look of worry there instead. "That was until now." she confesses. "I mean, with those things out there, I need someone, lots of someones. I just... I just hope you guys need me, because..." she stops talking, fiddling with the knot around the railing making sure it's tight. She slides to the floor watching the door like a watchdog protecting her territory. She checks the whole room, not just the door. There are lots of places for those things to get in down there: a window, through the floor, the front door, maybe even a wall if it's strong enough. She looks up at the ceiling over at the shadows obscuring places in the room and the broken debris just in case.
She turns to Hui-gyeong, opens her mouth as if she is going to say something, then she turns away, "Never mind." she mutters.

Thinking back to the stories he was told about where evil men were compared to demons, and that's what he'd had been calling these things ever since he got here. "What I've been calling those things, are demons." Stopping for a brief second pulling her down under the bar as he hears a demon's large pounds on the ground walk by. "We don't have much time to spare, or they'd know something happened here recently." Pulling her along with him knowing that not much was on there side. "We need to hurry to get to the others, just don't ask any questions those demons will hear us!"

Noticing a rope was set down, letting Chinatsu climb up first. A demon noticing Naddel charging toward him, Naddel motions Chinatsu to hurry upward, eventually grabbing onto the rope, the demon grabs on his leg, putting it's claws into the back of his foot, clawing on him while climbing, him groaning in pain, and climbing up, with claw marks in his foot. The demon, tries to pull down the rope tearing at it. Naddel grabbing the window as the rope is being ripped, Naddel stuck in his position until he either falls or is pulled up.

Kumiko sits contemplating her near mistake. She has never confided so much about her to a stranger ever. With Hui-gyeong she practically told her whole life story. She is afraid, but not so much of the demons as she is of doing it alone. She hasn't really needed anybody in a long time, but with the new people, she finds some security even if they don't trust her.
Kumiko sighs wondering what will happen to her. As she sits thinking, she sees a strange girl and Naddel racing into the building. From behind them moving toward the door, she can see an unpleasant shadow following.
"Oh, Odds!" she cusses, "Get up! We have company!" she shouts at Hui-gyeong. The demon rushes in pursuing Naddel and the new person, "And NOW!" Kumiko barks harder at Hui-gyeong, "We don't have time for you to be sick."
Kumiko grabs her daggers and hurls one at the monster as the girl starts climbing, "MISSED!" she hisses. The dim light with the fear caused her to miss by quite a bit. She grabs her second dagger and slides over the rail, "Hurry up girl! Hurry up!" she yells at the girl coming up the rope. The creature has caught hold of Naddel and is clawing at his leg. "This is the dumbest thing I've ever thought of." Kumiko says to herself as she drops her sword and then herself to the floor below.

She lands about five meters from the creature. The landing was uncomfortable, but she's not hurt. She reaches around and grabs her sword and turns to face that thing. She swings wildly at it and misses on her first try. She didn't hit it, but she has it's attention. The creature turns to Kumiko. Kumiko swings a second time and gets a small strike to the creature's arm. Not enough to injure it, just a small cut.
The creature yells out in anger, more than pain. "Oh, Talan!" the girl mutters saying her God's name. Before she can get a third try, the creature swings at Kumiko with its claws. Kumiko leaps out of the way, her dagger falling from her boot. She swings again, missing. The creature seizes the opportunity and strikes with a backhand knocking Kumiko through the air into some wooden crates against the walls. The splinters from one of the crates gets into her arm, blood is tricking from her mouth and she isn't moving. It's hard to tell if she's dead or merely unconscious. The creature may not be sure either, but he's moving over to her to finish the job.
