Hui-gyeong

I'm living proof that being lucky is better than being smart

0 · 820 views · located in fantasy

a character in “Avalon's fall”, as played by rpannier

Description

Hui-gyeong is a 16 year old girl about 5'2" tall and just shy of a hundred pounds; she can easily be mistaken for someone a tad younger than she is. She is cute. Her skin is an almond color. Her eyes are brown, her mouth, ears and nose are small, but proportional and suitable to her size. She has long, straight black hair that hangs almost to her knees. She usually wears her hair in a pony tail or in twin tails (she carries pieces of twine to tie her hair with). Hui-gyeong is also thin.
Seeing her up close, she often looks tired/exhausted.
She comes from the lowest end of the society. She dresses in a dark tunic that covers half-way to her knees, though it appears a little small on her. It is old and somewhat worn. She wears high soft boots that come up to her knees, and like her tunic they are old looking as well. She travels mostly on foot, so it's not uncommon for her to look dirty and bedraggled.

(Will post an avatar when I find a good one)

Personality

Hui-gyeong is, to say the least, rather manic. By nature, she is a pleasant girl, who likes to have fun and enjoys seeing new things. She is inquisitive. By nurture, she is wary of others, this is due to her childhood. Hui-gyeong is self-absorbed in how she sees the world; she feels her misery is probably worse than most, she is self-conscious over whether she has offended others, she is cautious.
She is a survivor and is constantly in 'Survival Mode.' This causes her to be stressed a lot and contributes to her looking tired and sounding whiny.
When she meets someone for the first time she is often guarded, keeps a safe distance from the new person and her eyes constantly dart around the area making sure that everything is safe. She will be overly polite, figuring that by doing so she is less likely to raise suspicion or cause an issue with the other person.
Once she is comfortable in an environment, she is much more fun to be around and likes to try new things with the group and to learn more about each person; sometimes to the point of being annoyingly nosy.
While she is highly protective if her things, she is touchy when it comes to someone else's items. When she sees something she doesn't understand or she sees something new that interests her, her first response is to scout it and once she's decided it's safe, she touches and holds it to get a better appreciation of the item. This has lead to a misunderstanding or two with local merchants, who figure the girl has more sinister plans for the object.
When confronted by a dangerous or overwhelming situation, her response is to flee until the threat has gone.
She comes from an area where girls were not respected or wanted. A product of her upbringing, she believes she is 'a stupid girl' of no particular worth. In addition to her low self-esteem, she is somewhat self-pitying.

Equipment

She wears a dark tunic; the color could either be a fading black, dark blue or olive green. It's so old, it's hard to tell to anyone looking. Around her waist is a belt that hangs a pouch that she keeps the few coins she carries and a dagger. Around her neck she wears a bone white flat pendant with a lt blue stone in the middle attached to a string that she uses a necklace. The pendant is a gift from an old man she met on her travels. The pendant and stone, while interesting looking, are of little value to a fence.
She carries a pack on her back that she keeps an old blanket, another old, dark tunic, a bowl, a small cloth with a few valuable rocks wrapped in it and a pair of sticks that she eats with. The sticks are the only thing she owns of fine quality, made of crafted bone. (She never touches her food and she needs the sticks to be constantly clean even if she isn't).
In a small bag she has a few herbs that she uses for seasoning food.

History

Born into a very poor family in the remote northeastern province of Moondeok, Hui-gyeong had a very hard life as a girl; her life was made more difficult in that the people of Moondeok consider girls to be a net minus. She had three brothers who died before their second birthday. Her father was a horrid man, who treated her badly and her mother was also fairly useless, never once coming to defense of the beatings her daughter took.
Most of Moondeok is either mountainous or farmland, it has a half dozen cities, with it's largest being Saergahl, a border community where almost all trade with the outside world takes place. In Saergahl, almost anything is a commodity and at the age of thirteen, Hui-gyeong found herself a commodity. Her mother gave birth to another son and her father wanted money to assure his survival, so he took Hui-gyeong to Saergahl to see what he could get for her. He shopped her around to various men of ill-fame; slavers, brothel owners and others trying to see what he could fetch as a price for his oldest child.
He found a buyer, a well-dressed, older man missing an eye. He took an odd interest in Hui-gyeong; he seemed more interested in her "potential" than in her. He offered ten times the highest offer and the deal was done.
The man had her placed in a special cage on the back of a cart, with orders to never be allowed out of the cart for any reason until they got to the coast. While every other purchase was forced to walk the distance, she was the only one who rode. Along the trip Hui-gyeong got sick and the men let her out to clean the wagon and allow her to heal. As they waited a mist formed, eventually turning into a fog. The diversion allowed her to escape.
She ultimately sought refuge with an old man who also found her "interesting" and "of great potential." He fed her, cared for her when she was sick, gave her clothes and a bed of her own. He spent much of their time together just talking to her, teaching her how to recognize good plants from bad, how to heal her wounds, how to cook, etc. He also taught her to be wary of others, for evil is everywhere.
She lived there until she was half-way to fifteen and then he gave her a backpack, a knife, some clothes, a blanket and other items and told her it was time for her to move on and meet her destiny. Before she left, he gave her the pendant that she threaded into a cheap string necklace she wore around her neck and she was off.
A few times she was pursued by slavers (and others). She would often find some old hovel, a tree, a cave or ditch to hide in. Each escape was met with the mist forming, eventually becoming a thick fog that prevented the men from pursuing her any further. On one occasion a trio of slavers nearly caught her. She slipped in an open field as they closed in. Suddenly a wind appeared almost out of nowhere and picked up every stalk, every leaf, grain of sand and light rock and assaulted the men forcing them into retreat, half-blinding two of the men.
She was traveling through the mountains of Lanaton when the creatures struck Avalon. She is on a muddy road in Avalon.

Hui-gyeong is an elemental magic-user, her element is air (though she possesses a little water ability). Her magic right now is limited to the above mentioned and it's not particularly powerful (compared to accomplished wizards), but it is effective. Her magic is channeled through her emotions and affects her physically when she uses them:
The fog/mist is a protective spell and has no malicious intent to it, so after the event is over she is often left dazed and confused or giddy and silly.
The wind is an attack spell and comes from her deepest, darkest emotions. Her hatred for her father, her mother, the community, the slavers, anyone who has ever mistreated her is where this spell originates in her psyche. It is a negative magic that is destructive and it makes her light headed, confused and very sick; depending on the level of energy she expends it can incapacitate her for more than a couple of days.
In rare instances, the wind will surface to protect her, but will not cause damage to anyone or anything. While it is not a malicious, it's effects certainly are, because she still loses much of her energy and her headache is just as intense as if she were attacking someone or something.
She does not realize that she is the source of the magic and that she can cast it. Being fairly superstitious, she believes that she has a 'Messenger' that is protecting her and when he is forced to save her, punishes her with confusion or illness to remind her to be smarter.

So begins...

Hui-gyeong lays watching the younger girl as she goes through her lamentations. Hui-gyeong is rather surprised at her behavior. Until now, she has seemed rather confident, one might even say cocky and arrogant. But now she seems so uncertain, so vulnerable. Hui-gyeong would love to help her, but she isn't sure how, she doesn't know what her problem is.
Kumiko looks at her and is about to say something and then changes her mind, returning to her vigil of the first floor.
Hui-gyeong sits watching the girl watching the empty darkness. Her silence is troubling, very disconcerting. Hiu-gyeong blocks out everything else in order to focus on the girl. Her trance is broken when Kumiko screams, ""Oh, Odds! Get up! We have company!"
Hui-gyeong hesitates, not expecting to be visited by another one of those things so soon. "And NOW! We don't have time for you to be sick." she commands from the top of the balcony, dagger held in her fingers above her head targeting one of those things down there. "MISSED!" Kumiko says seconds after throwing the knife.
Hui-gyeong races over to the rope and she can see a new girl half-way up the rope. Naddel is waiting, panicked, for her to get up the rope. "Grab hold of my hand!" Hui-gyeong yells lowering her hands and grabbing the girls arms to pull her up, so Naddel can get on the rope safely. Before she can tell Kumiko to help, Kumiko drops down to the first floor to fight that creature that is now clawing at Naddels' leg.
"Grab and pull!" Hui-gyeong orders as she begins pulling the rope up to get Naddel to safety. As she pulls, she watches Kumiko try in vain to kill that demon. The demon has shifted his focus to Kumiko and with its first blow catches Kumiko, she's not badly injured, but she is hurt. "Pull harder!" Hui-gyeong yells. Naddel is almost up. "Grab his arm!" Hui-gyeong is about to lower her arm to help when the creature strikes Kumiko with a blow so great it sends her flying across the room and into crates against the wall. Kumiko isn't moving, she looks really badly hurt. The demon looks up, Naddel is too difficult a target and Kumiko is sitting prey, a perfect target for him to practice on.
"Noooo!!!!" Hui-gyeong screams. Her fear and anger washing together as the creature moves on helpless Kumiko. She may not know much about Kumiko, but Kumiko risked her life for Naddel. The pupils in Hui-gyeong's eyes grow large, filling the brown color completely, then they grow small as her pupil turns to a glowing translucent white. As they do, the winds start picking up all around the building, unlike the wind before, this one seems angry and is much larger than the one she conjured up before. This one is an 'Elemental Wind' and those winds are worse than storm, any wind shear, any typhoon can muster, because they're born from angry energy, from a lust for death. They're not conjured up very often and they're more likely seen by inexperienced wizards rather than experienced because they are fed and controlled by a lack of discipline. Once conjured everyone in the room, except for the caster, can wind up an unwitting victim of their fierce, merciless power.

The demon moved closer to finish it's work when it became distracted; a wisp of wind ran up its back and then another in it's face. At first he ignores the small breezes as minor irritants, but as the winds gather more energy they strike him in all parts of his body, blowing across his face, his chest, between his legs. Now they're more than mild irritants, they're a gathering storm, a real threat. The demon who just seconds earlier had the look of a champion now begins to look worried. As the winds gather steam, they seem to be coming from every corner of the room, from the outside, angrier and more aggressive they blow, swirl and twist, grabbing whatever is loose that they can grab; shards of glass, nails, small pieces of wood, metal and so on from both inside and out. The demon begins to show worry on it's face and then it's body begins backing away as if it is looking for an escape, but it is surrounded on all sides by the angry gale. Finally, in one sweeping explosion the wind thrusts everything it has into the creature, shredding parts of it's arms, it's legs, it's stomach, it's head. When the wind dies, the creature has lost much of it's head and pieces of it are strewn about the room as if it had been hit by a claymore mine. The thing dead, Hui-gyeong collapses onto the floor, exhausted her breathing labored.

Chinatsu climbed out of the hole and Naddel pulled her out of the bar and on the street, "We need to hurry to get to the others, just don't ask any questions those demons will hear us!" Chinatsu didn't say anything, she just kept running as fast as he could. They ran inside a building and there was a rope hanging from the next floor. Chinatsu grabbed the rope and started climbing a demon moving toward Naddel.
From above she could hear another voice yelling, giving orders. It was a girl's voice. Halfway up she saw a hand reaching for her and pulling her up. Naddel started screaming from below as a person dropped down to the first floor. "Grab hold of my hand!" a voice yelled and pulled Chinatsu to the top.

Hui-gyeong didn't wait for Chinatsu to recover, "Grab and pull!" she yelled pulling on the rope. Chinatsu ran over and helped pull. They got Naddel near the top when the girl yelled in fear. Hui-gyeong stopped pulling on the rope and her eyes and face got strange, her eyes changed colors and then a big wind began blowing all around the building. Chinatsu didn't think about being afraid, she pulled Naddel up and on the top floor. She watched as the wind collected all kinds of things then it exploded them into the demon, ripping it apart in many places. Then the girl fell unconscious and the wind died.

"That was amazing!" Chinatsu said when the wind finished. She didn't know who to check first. Naddel's leg, unconscious Hui-gyeong or climb down and check on Kumiko.
She leaned down to make sure Hui-gyeong was still alive. She was, just out. "Are you okay?" she asked Naddel. She was sure that Kumiko down below needed her the most, but she was afraid to go down there in case another one showed up.

Naddel's wound bleeds out from the back. "It's deep but I think she needs more help than I do." He says sighing with pain. Naddel wasn't sure if the rope was safe, his eyes checking somewhere for a solution, something to help the pressure cutting deep, the pain in his leg, something what would get this situation handled.

"I'll go back down you make sure that Hui safe". just in case she didn't know who Hui was he pointed at the passed out girl on the floor, climbing back down the rope, staying as quiet as possible, he notices Kumiko with the wooden pieces in her arm, he picking her up, she's lighter than he expected, knowing that he can't climb the rope, he brings her to the downstairs of the house with the door broken to pieces. Knowing it was good time to take out the pieces of wood while it was in her skin and she was asleep, pulling them out. Staying as quiet as possible while he knows the door has been broken, although as if Two hours went by, the sun is starting to rise, taking a deep breathe knowing it was safe for now. As the demon's roars would be calmed by the bright light.

Chinatsu nodded, she thought it would be better if she went and got the bleeding girl, but Naddel knew these people better than him. Chinatsu was afraid of Hui-gyeong and would have been happier to not be near her. The glow in her eyes, the angry wind that destroyed the demon worried her. "She seemed so angry when she cast that spell." Chinatsu thought. "What if she wakes and she's still angry? What if she thinks I'm an enemy?" she wondered, knowing what would happen - she would end up like that demon on the first floor -- dead.

She turned to tell Naddel she wanted to go get the girl below, but he was gone. "Damn!" she cussed. She sighed and nudged Hui-gyeong, "Hey!" she said softly, "Hey! You okay?" Hui-gyeong didn't answer. She looked around the loft to see what else was up there. It was easier to see now, the sun was coming up and in about thirty minutes the upstairs would be lit by the sun. "Okay," she whispered, bending over and putting Hui-gyeong's arm over her shoulder and lifting, "Let's go. One... two... three." Chinatsu pushed up hard trying to get Hui-gyeong to her feet. It was easy to get her up, but difficult to keep from falling. Chinatsu dragged the girl to the bed and set her down on it.

"There!" she said breathing heavy. She looked over the balcony and she saw Naddel with the other girl trying to get the pieces of wood out of her arm. Chinatsu looked at the girl on the bed, decided she would be okay and got down to the bottom floor. "You need some help?" Chinatsu asked Naddel watching outside the door as the sun was almost high enough to light the streets covered by the castle towers.
"I think those things are gone." she said looking out for any motion, "Is she gonna be all right? She got the you-know smacked out of her. Gutsy girl for someone that small."

Looking upward, "Hopefully, it doesn't look too serious but when she wakes up it isn't going to be the brightest day ever, also for further use my name is Naddel!" The roaring and hissing of the demons had stopped about a minute ago, so by guessing he said that the demon's had probably gone to hiding. Tapping the side of Kumiko, saying "If you're still alive, then hopefully, you'll wake up."

The sun starts to bleed through, making everything glow like it did the day before. Starting to think about Mary, his horse, when he got it from the stalls, whenever he saw the horse, whenever they said that the horse was injured, and that they were giving the thing away for free as it was too injured and was most likely going to die. Naddel took it in and took care of it, the horse of course survived.

His thinking was interrupted by the sudden movement of a rat, feeling a hand on his shoulder. Had he fallen asleep, or did he get lost in his thoughts? He began looking up and he saw-

Nothing, He saw nothing but his own Arm contact on his shoulder, Getting up off of the wooden floor, Kumiko still asleep, still alive he presumed, grasping his sword and putting on the side of a wall, leaving it there, it seemed dull, he didn't like it, he decided to taken it along to the market to sharpen the dull blade, His father taught him how, a while back, heading over to the market and looking around for something good, he wondered about the city's honey and who dared to go there with their torches and smoke the bees calming them down like his kingdom did every month.

He noticed the bee stall, going over to the stall and he pulls out a small coin, he flipped the coin on the dead body's lap, as his will to protect his honey killed him, more likely the demons though he still took a stand, taking a pot and putting some honey in it, and then looking back at the man who is more skeleton than he is skin and muscle, he thinks about the defense again talking to himself "I would of ran away instead of protecting what I owned." grasping the honey pot and taking it with him to the shelter, Tying the pot to the rope, and yells up to the upper room "Pull it up, It's something good!" He says with a smile.

Although he forgot to grasp a simple task he still managed to get some food and that was still productive.

Hui-gyeong remains on the floor trying to gather her wits and ease her blistering headache. The release of the energy that made the wind to killed that thing has left her, once again, useless and laid out. As she lays there she finally comes to grip with the idea that Chinatsu may be correct, that it may just be all her and not some mystical force that is watching her.
While that idea brings comfort, it also brings some measure of worry as well. "How do I control this thing?" she moans, rolling over on her back, both hands pinned against the sides of her head. "How do I fix it?" she moans in anguish one more time.
She heard Chinatsu climb back up the rope, "Okay! It's all safe. You can come up now." Chinatsu yelled. Hui-gyeong couldn't tell who she was yelling too, but she was sure it wasn't her. "Is...is... Kumiko okay." she groaned, worrying about whether or not Kumiko was still alive. She pressed against her head a little tighter hoping that would stop the throbbing pain from inside her head. It was a little bit successful, but not much. As she lay there she was able to picture that thing hitting the smaller girl and sending her across the room into the wall and the wooden crates. She looked almost dead when she laid there. That was a thought Hui-gyeong could do with out.
Kumiko may have been a thief, but that doesn't mean Kumiko is a bad person or a threat to her and Naddel. Hopefully, Kumiko will be okay.

Chinatsu holds the rope for Naddel. When he got up he went and sat. Chinatsu looked at him and rolled her eyes. "Great. I gotta get her up myself." she muttered. She put the rope around the rail, prayed that it would hold and began lifting the girl tied to the chair. It took a lot of energy and time, but her prayers were answered, the rail held and she got the girl up. Chinatsu tied the rope off and pulled the girl from the chair.
She laid the girl carefully on the floor and looked at her injuries. Chinatsu pulled pieces of wood from her shoulder and back and some more from her leg. She took some herbs from her pack and put them in a small stone pestle from her bag. She ground them up and added some water and they made a paste. Chinatsu applied the paste to the girls injuries.

"Do you want some too?" Chinatsu asked. "It will help with infection." Chinatsu was half-way between anger and gratitudfe with the man. He saved her life and left her to lift the girl. Being alive was far more important. She handed the wizard girl some herbs from a bag. "Here. This will help with your headache."

Putting it on some of the major injuries the five inch scratch in his leg. The sting was gruesome, though he knew it was helping. Putting some more on the smaller injuries. Hui-gyeong takes the herbs from the bag and mixes them with some water and swallows. After drinking them she realizes she forgot to ask if they were to be eaten or placed on her head. Within a few minutes the answer was somewhat clear. Her head felt better, but she was still exhausted and disoriented.
She laid back on the bed and thought about what the girl had said, "Maybe I am a wizard of some kind." Hui-gyeong thought. "Maybe I can perform magic."
She laid thinking about all the times the magic had happened and the pattern of the magic. How when she was frightened and hiding it was merely a fog, but when she was cornered or terrified it was the angry wind. It seemed to make sense that it was her all along. She didn't know what an Air Elemental Wizard was exactly, but she understood what the girl described and it did fit what has happened to her.
Hui-gyeong rolled her head and stared at Chinatsu working on Kumiko. Hui-gyeong didn't know much about the new girl in the group except that she was the most amazing girl she had ever seen; she was smart, confident, helpful, trusting. How else do you explain how willingly she has helped the group?
Hui-gyeong wants to go over and help Chinatsu care for Kumiko, but she decides against it. Chinatsu seems like a take charge kind of person and she has pretty much given everyone their instructions; Naddel put the salve on his leg, she was to take the herbs and Chinatsu will tend to Kumiko.
Hui-gyeong thinks of Kumiko and how brave she was, dropping down to the first floor and challenging the demon, nearly getting killed for her effort. Naddel, also brave helping kill the demon. Everyone but her has been brave. It is a horrible thought for her to think that she could be the weak-link of the group. She is no hero, but she has decided she needs to do more and be more brave if the group is to survive.

Chinatsu finally got all the splinters out of Kumiko's back and arm. She looked around for anything else in her and then for any injuries. There were lots of bruises and a place where she may have cracked a rib. Chinatsu puts the paste on the bloody parts and covers them with wraps hoping they'll hold. She feels the girl's chest and listens to her breathing. She sounds like she's not injured badly. She has some bruises on the back of her head and a bump too. But she's sure that Kumiko is okay.
Chinatsu is very tired. She grabs a shirt from her bag and rolls it up under her head and lays down on the floor next to Kumiko using the shirt for a pillow. She looks at Naddel on the bed, "Thank you, for saving me at the bar." Chinatsu whispers. "That was very brave." She peers up at Hui-gyeong, "Thank you for helping kill that creature. You're a marvelous wizard." Then she rolls over facing Kumiko and falls asleep.

Kumiko slowly wakes up. Her head, back and shoulders hurt really bad. The last thing she remembered was being struck in the head and then everything went black. There was a strange girl she didn't know next to her. She looked over at her arm and side. She had bandages on her that went over her shoulder. She was confused.
"Wha... what happened. Am I okay? Who are you?" she asked looking at the girl. She looked over at Hui-gyeong and then at Naddel. She smiled at Naddel, You're alive." she smiled. "What happened to that thing?" She tried to move, but it hurt too badly. She was stuck for a while.

Then he looks back at Kumiko and says with a thankful and slightly strained voice "Thank you for setting down the rope, and jumping down to distract the demon, it had those talon's in the back of my ankle, and that wasn't very pleasant if I do say so myself, although you took a bit more pain than I did" Sitting down on the bed his leg not bleeding in healing over not much progress but enough for him to not feel any more pain.

"I've never seen red eyes before, that's the only reason I asked, and I'm not sure if it's a bad thing or not. Also, I didn't come from here, I came from Ilaire Kingdom, some week's walk away from here, I don't think there are anyone left from here, There are burnt corpses upstairs from those things that seem to only come at night. Which we seemed to have a heck of one yesterday" He points at everyone injured behind him. Also noticing the pot of honey he stored from the market place. "You must be hungry for some sweets." He heads over to the pot of honey and hands it to him. "Just, if you want some don't eat it all save us some" Naddel Gives him a smile with a hint of laughter.

#, as written by hawon
Chinatsu woke up when she heard Naddel yelling. Her first instinct was to grab her weapon for protection. He alarm is quickly eased when she saw that whoever or whatever Naddel was yelling at/about wasn't threatening the group. She got up on one knee and put herself between the window and the injured Kumiko. If he attacked she would need to kill it and protect one of their members; each person was too important to lose one to something stupid. Kumiko was a brave hero and would need her assistance.
"Get ready." she whispered over to Hui-gyeong. "We may need your powers." Kumiko reached down into her bag and pulled out some small dirt. It wouldn't defeat or even injure anything, but a shot in the eyes might give her the chance to kill him if need be.
As he climbed in Chinatsu could feel her body tense, "This is it." she told herself. "Steady. Don't attack unless you have to. He may not be a threat." When he finally climbed in and turned around her tension dropped. Yes, he had red eyes, but he looked like a rather sad fighter. If he tried anything she was sure the four of them could best him without much problem, "Hell. We killed a demon as a group."

Chinatsu watched as Naddel shared his pot of honey with the stranger. "So." Chinatsu asked with a hint of irritation, "What's your name?" she looked the new guy up and down. "Ands before you ask what's ours, remember, we were here first." She was being rather bold, to the point of rude, but he seemed rather rude himself. And yes, she was a late addition to this team as well, but she was here before him and had proven herself against the demon. She felt she entitled a little.

Kumiko tries to sleep but it's too difficult. The medicine has helped with her injuries, but she can't get comfortable. Naddel is talking to someone out the window. She watches as a fifth joins the group, another male. She rubs her eyes and shakes her head, she thinks she's seen him before, she tries really hard but it doesn't come.
She lays back down while they share the honey, "Foolishness!" she tells herself. "I know where real food is. Bread, dried beef and the like." she remembers. She remembers helping herself to the dead bakers wares, taking some wine. Then running from the guard and the... "Oh, no." she moans softly, "Not the man from the front of the building." she moans. She now remembers this man, he was the strange man from the front of the building, the man who just stood and said nothing. She is about to say something when Chinatsu asks who he is.

Hui-gyeong sits up and watches the new guy climb in the window and Naddel willingly share his find. She isn't sure what to think of the new guy. He seems awfully conscious about his eyes, as if they bother him in some way. "Maybe everyone and their cousin asking about them just irritates him."
From Kumiko's response, she must know the man from somewhere and their encounter was obviously not a pleasant one. "Maybe she robbed him." she wonders. If that is the case she will help Kumiko. Kumiko helped them and she's injured.
For now, Hui-gyeong is just going to observe the situation. She still hurts, her head still throbs a bit. No sense in getting involved in something she can't control

"I suppose I may have underestimated these beasts."

Clarissa flexed her left arm, feeling the effects of her bracer as it began to heal the torn muscles. As she did, she glanced down at her coat, checking to see if blood had stained any part of it. Fortunately, it was still in its pristine state. Blood on such pure white fabric would be very difficult to wash off, even with magic, and even when it was actually washed off, the purity of the color would have been tarnished, at least for the region around the stain. That was why Clarissa was always careful to avoid the splatter of blood in her battles. Incidentally, this habit of hers helped develop a nickname that she never wanted - the 'White Flash'.

But she took pleasure in it, for unintentionally, she helped establish her honor as a warrior. To be recognized; at least that first step is now completed. "Well," Clarissa sighs as she feels her arm make a complete recovery. "Good."

She began to walk over the dead bodies of the demons that laid around on the floor. Their bodies were filled with holes on all sides, such that it oozed blood all over. A grotesque sight, but one that failed to faze Clarissa as she nimbly hopped over the bodies, taking care not to get any of the gore on her clothing. The streets were quiet, for the most part. Burnt corpses littered the streets and buildings. It was a miserable sight; going by the number of corpses, this had to be a city that was razed by an extremely strong force - likely the demons encountered earlier.

She continued to walk down the streets, stopping at a three-storied building. The sounds of growling began to grow in volume, but amidst these were the sounds of... voices?

Clarissa threw several careful glances down the streets to ensure no demons were following before she entered the building. She may have bested several demons earlier, but that was only because they approached her one at a time. If they had approached her all at once, her name of 'White Flash' would likely be changed to 'Red Flash'. Whether the red was hers, or the demons... That would become much more uncertain. Likely a mix of both. Mostly the demons though.

As she closed the door silently behind her, she could hear the voices much more audibly than from outside.

"Greetings, I am Clarissa of Solaire. Some call me the 'White Flash'. But I prefer to be called 'Clarissa'," she said, introducing herself to the people within the building, even though she knew not where they were. She did, however, rest her left hand on the Weiss' hilt in case someone attempted to try something funny.
