Introduction
There comes a moment in everyone's lives where they are under a moment of stress, whether the person breaks down or the situation becomes too critical for them to handle. The intensity of this moment of stress varies from individual to individual but most individuals reach their breaking point, which is the relative term for a certain level of stress. Everybody has potential to reach their breaking point in life just like eight best friends, which our story is about.
Eight best friends, all of which have been closer than most siblings their entire lives, have been pushed to their limit. But they haven't been pushed to their limits with each other but rather with their parents instead. So, after a meeting among them all and all of them deciding that they want their freedom, they came to the decision that they were going to move out of their parents homes and move into a rather luxurious apartment complex in New York City. Which is an apartment that they all can barely afford. Few of them might be rooming together while one or two might be rooming alone but they all think that nothing can possibly go wrong in their lives now. But will they learn that they aren't the best of friends at all? Can they really live in The Big Apple without their parents? Maybe they will even figure out that they just aren't cut out for living on their own, or in New York City, especially shortly after graduating high school.

Elijah was really thinking to himself that maybe having them moving out might've been a slight bad idea in the moment. But that was something that he was going to keep to himself for the time being. Although, he really liked having his independence and constantly being around his best friends all the time. Elijah had finished packing his belongings in his room and wondered to himself where his roommate was. Or better yet, where the hell everyone else was.
He had hoped to himself that no one generally backed out on him without his knowledge but that wouldn't have been the case, for real. Elijah pulled out his Samsung 6 Plus from his pocket, checking to make sure he doesn't have any missed messages from his friends. Plus, today was move in day and June 1, so they had no choice but to be there and get settled into their room. While pondering on the thought for a moment, he decided to text his friends, just to check in on them to make sure they were okay.

Those were the only two messages that he sent out so far as he went on his internet on the phone to browse some clubs. Just in case they wanted to have a little bit of fun tonight and celebrate being out on their own on the first night. There was a club not too far from their apartment building entitled, Club Delirium, and it was one of the hottest destinations and Elijah knew that they had to hit it up tonight. Well, that is if everyone was definitely up for it.
With a sigh, Elijah laid back first onto his bed and waited for some replies to come through or for someone to text him first. But for now, he guessed that he'd just lay there and stare up at his ceiling and constantly check his phone for messages.

The clock had just turned over from AM to PM as Lizzie placed the final of her five pillows onto her freshly made bed. The room around her was devoid of any boxes, after she had arrived at 6:00am that morning to begin unloading and unpacking into her new place. Poor Simon had been drug along for the ride, but as she finally looked up from her daze of OCD organizing, she realized she had no idea where her roommate had gone off to. A flash of guilt reddens her cheeks and she smooths the palm of her hands against the black leggings over her thighs.
She had unpacked her kitchen utensils first, and stocked the fridge after her 8:00am run around the neighborhood to get a feel for what jogging route would be best for her and Elijah in the mornings. Wrapped in bandages, her feet pad across the floor toward the fridge. Chocolate brown eyes glance over to the clock, ensuring that it was noon and an acceptable time to text the group. She pulls open the group chat with one hand as the other opens the fridge to pull out the eggs.

"I wish it didn't have to be like this," Emily murmured, tightening her arms around Poppy. Poppy didn't answer for a second, leaning into the embrace and inhaling Emily's perfume. But Emily was moving away for college soon- she was on an early start with the sports scholarship she was on. And of course, it was the other side of the country to Emily. "Yeah. But... we'll be okay." Poppy wasn't sure who she was trying to comfort, herself or Emily. "Just promise me you won't mope. This is a great opportunity, okay? Grab it with both hands. It just... wasn't meant to be, right?" Emily said, with a smile they both knew was fake.
And after one last kiss, she left. As far as anyone else knew, she'd just been helping Poppy move in. Poppy took a deep breath, wiped her eyes, and looked around her room. It was nice. She had a decent view, and it was cosy. It was already starting to feel like home. She took another deep breath, checked her reflection, and went out into the kitchen.
"Hey, Lizzie. Didn't take you long to take control of the kitchen," Poppy teased lightly, with a grin. She sat down at their little table. She glanced at her phone, and realised she had a couple of texts. And after one last kiss, she left. As far as anyone else knew, she'd just been helping Poppy move in. Poppy took a deep breath, wiped her eyes, and looked around her room. It was nice. I'm here. Just pulling up in a taxi. Would you mind coming down to help me bring my things up?
Dani knew not everyone was there yet, which wasn't surprising. She just hoped that whoever was already at the apartment building would come down and help her grab her things because the longer the man sat there in front of the apartments, the more money she would have to pay him as the meter went on.
Dani climbed out of the taxi just as he popped the trunk open for her. Dani smiled a bit and glanced back and forth down the streets, she was finally in New York, her new home. After taking in her surroundings for a brief couple of seconds, she turned on her heels to the back of the taxi and began pulling her things out of the trunk one by one. Dani tried to grab as much as she could carry because she didn't want to make more than one trip if she could help it.
Caila ruffled her hair in the mirror of her bathroom and eagerly eyed the box of pale pink hair dye on the counter. New move new her right? She ran her black painted nails through the damp blonde locks around her shoulder and chewed on her lip in thought.
Her phone chirped alerting her of a text, which brought her from her thoughts. She picked up the phone, seeing the notification was from the group she opened the message and swiftly would respond.
I'm already here in my room, left my prison as soon as i could.
She left the dye alone for now and plopped down on the bed, closing her eyes taking in the sweet silence of her own room. There was no one to yell at her. The place smelled fresh and clean. It was a beautiful new start, a refresher to life, there were no bad memories here to haunt her, Caila's own little safe spot from the world.
Her phone chirped again and she looked at the group message and would type a prompt response
It's heaven inside Dani!! I'll help you get situated :)
She jumped off the bed, and would proceed to exit her place, and running downstairs, she flashed a bright smile and went to reach for a bag from Dani, softy saying, "Glad ya could make it."
She shuffled her feet awkwardly as she looked around at the busy lifestyle of The Big Apple.

Boy. It felt lovely to be away from his family, but still a small part of him felt guilty for the whole leaving thing. But his siblings knew if they needed him, they could reach him on his phone. After announcing he was leaving, Adrian used some of his saved up money to buy himself an iPhone 6, and only gave the number to his siblings for emergencies. He clutched the necklace his siblings got for him as going away gift. He checked his phone receiving an onslaught of messages from the New York or bust chat.

Well here he was. Almost fifty hours of driving over eight states with some interesting stops along the way and Amory was finally entering New York City. When they all decided to move in together Amory was sportive of the idea but now with hindsight being twenty twenty, perhaps their choice of location was not the most practical. Never the less here they were, new city, new home, starting a new life. As a bonus all of them would be sharing this new start and it's adventures together. Still didn't stop Amory from having restless leg syndrome from the two day plus drive.
All that aside Amory didn't regret moving with his friends, though his decision to drive here without a co-driver was one of those mental blunders he had on occasion. Driving out of the Holland Tunnel Amory was quite impressed with New York. Sure he had seen many picture of it but seeing the city in person with it's towering buildings, bustling streets and it's general atmosphere were quite a far cry from what you saw from a second hand medium. Especially all of the unclothed, tail gating, cut you off the road, blaring their horns drivers!
As he was driving his noticed he was low on gas and pulled into a shell gas station to fill up. After paying at the pump and sitting in the driver seat waiting his Samsung Galaxy S5 alerted him to someone talking in the chat. Amory opened the chatroom and found several messages from the group. Chuckling at some of the responses he typed up a response to each one.

Just pulled into the city ten minutes ago. All is well except for some restless leg syndrome.
My apologies for not being there to help everyone. I'll make it up when I get there.
After sending the message Amory paused and looked into his SUV, a 2017 Toyota Highlander. All of his more important belongings were loaded in the SUV and everything else had been shipped ahead. Though the SUV was loaded with his personal things and some cross country driving essentals he had some room to spare. Amory opened the app again and messaged all of the group,

She couldn't grab her phone to read the messages, so she didn't get a chance to read them.
Just as she turned to begin walking into the building, Caila joined her, grabbing a couple bags from Dani. "Glad ya could make it."
Dani just smiled before stating, "Of course. I wouldn't miss it for the world." Thankfully between the two of them she knew there wouldn't have to be a second trip. Once all of her things were out of the trunk, she closed it and signaled for the driver to get going.
The brunette began to walk into the building once more. "Are you already unpacked and situated?" she questioned. If she wasn't she would offer to help Caila out in return. After all, Dani had a lot of stuff and knew for sure it was slightly straining to help carry everything upstairs.
When they got to the stairs, she felt her stomach rumble in hunger. "Definitely need something to eat. Wanna go get something with me tonight if no one else wants to go out?" she questioned, hoping that she would go along, even if no one else wanted to. Dani didn't care where it was they got food from as long as she ate something.
Before leaving her parents's home, she wasn't allowed to eat anything or take anything with her because of her father. Instead of making things worse than they already were during the move, she decided to just accept what was going on and chose to eat later.

Elijah's fingers tapped on the back of his phone as he waited for people, more like Adrian and Poppy, to reply to his messages. His eyes wandered around the ceiling that he was currently staring up towards and his phone chimed, which caused him to grasp his phone and look at what scrolled across the screen. It was a group message from Lizzie, making sure everyone was making it okay.

Elijah started to type his own reply but others seemingly started to flow in. His phone chimed multiple times, many from the group chat but ones from Adrian and Poppy, as well. He stopped typing his reply in the group chat to read Poppy's text first and seeing that she had already settled into her apartment. Elijah did not even see a reason to reply but made note to stop by there later. Adrian's message made him raise a brow as he started to think the worst instantly, even though he's not that type of person, he really could not help this feeling though.

Elijah sent the message with a worried expression then opened the group message to read the other messages again, finally replying to the message for himself. But raised up from the bed first and stood up, thumbs tapping at the screen as he turned heel to starting towards the exit from his apartment.

He had sent the message then walked out of his apartment then wandered around the halls now. Elijah really hoped to bump into someone but instead saw Danica and Caila on the stairs and greeted them. "Hello there, ladies." His eyes scanned towards them both, seeing that Caila was helping Danica with her belongings. "Anyway I can help?" Elijah proceeded to ask, not moving until he received an answer. "I was also thinking that we all can go out tonight and celebrate our first night in New York." Elijah mentioned but did not really ask what they thought though the tone of the question was quite obvious that he was looking for their opinions.
