Ember Wolfe

"Cages were made for animals. So why do I feel encaged?"

0 · 1,020 views · located in New Earth

a character in “Bitter Evolution”, as played by BlueWind_22

Description

Who is the survivor?
Image
Name: Ember Wolfe

Age: 20

Gender: Female

Personality: Ember is stoic, and aniti-social. Her thoughts are complex, yet simple, and utterly different than that of an average Necos. She doesn't feel pity, or sympathy for another creature, mostly due to the fact that her mentors taught her to trash her emotions or ignore them. So, basically she was trained to be stoic, and do what she was told, for she was just a soilder, or perhaps, an emotionless Neco trained to kill on command. She never rebelled, never tried, never even thought of it, but looks at things with a logical veiw. Anger was good, and so was rage, it helped her in battle, but those were her only emotions she was allowed to show or feel. She liked it. Ember has never tried to feel any of the other emotions, or even felt them before except for when she was a child. So, no one really knows her true self, no one really knows if she is stubborn and easily angered or if she is really friendly. Ember herself doesn't even know herself and what emotions she is capable of feeling.

Addition: Ember doesn't know anything about Peace.

Might? Beauty? Spirit?

Skills/jobs/gifts: Ember is an amazing Killer/Fighter. She can clear a room full of other trained Necos with ease, but other then that, she has no other skills.

Weakness/Fears: Ember hates and fears being touched by other Necos unless it's a touch meant to kill her opponent. When not in combat and told to stand down, she would probably freak out if someone tried to grab her arm or her hand. Other then being touched, she is deadly afraid of

Armour/Weapons: Ember can work with any type of weapon, but she prefers using a double edged sword and her hands if possible. Other then that, her armour is mild, enough to protect her, yet light enough for her to carry and run with. Her amour plating is white with some red markings (Just imagine the golden parts of the amour are blood red). Her helmet visor is aqua blue, and only does not allow others to see her face unless she shuts the visor off. And yes I am using a spartan picture and armour, but it does not have a shield or anything like that, it still needs to be repaired and taken well care of.
Image

Flicking through the past

History: Nothing much, but she came from a military family, and is said to have killed her brother after he murdered their parents.

Family: Her parents are deceased, but there are no records of a brother.

So begins...

Ace Tryant

"They were genetically engineered and of course, me being me, I forgot their names. But ever high ranking officer had at least two."

The male's soft blue eyes widened. A high ranking officer? Was he a clan member? Wait do clans still exist even after the war? Ace swallowed uneasily, glaring at the snow haired youth with the jokey teenish expression. "A...are you like in a group? You are lead by someone? Y.." He paused speaking, wondering if this conversation was going to go bad way. "Blondie" lifted his palm into the air, signalizing for Darius to throw his taser into his hands.

Ace watched as Jennifer offered to attend to the slightly provocative girl, he smiled lightly, folding his arms and a smug expression falling across his youthful face. He turned away, refusing to let his eyes fall upon the sight of someone so loosely dressed. "You never fail to amaze me, it’s like your shell is the toughest and strongest of material but really the insides all gooey and soft!" The blonde boy exclaimed, not quite realizing how stupid (but adorable) he sounded. Her and Faith seemed to have a fair bit in common, and for that reason they seemed to respect one and other greatly whilst still keeping their distance.

"I am ready to go when you are, you're in charge you know...Of course I don't think I need to tell you that..."

Darius James
"A...are you like in a group? You are lead by someone? Y.." Darius smiled at the youth, using his friendly yet humerous smile that always made people think he was laughing at some inside joke when he really wasn't. "I am commanded by someone, a higher ranking officer than myself of course but I can't really say. B'sides I'm gonna get on my way now, and you can do whatever ye want with it." He motioned toward Ember putting on the concern-friend-who-couldn't-stick-around face. "Don't want to be around when my enemy finally wakes up. And when she does, don't tell her that I saved her from the True Enemy clan." He made a face before packing his things and was just walking away whistling a tune of two cities.

Ember Wolfe
The pain Ember had been in began to subside, and as fast as it engulfed her, it disappeared leaving a very pissed off Neko. Ember stopped writhing. The reason for the crying was long gone. Yet the tear tracks remainded on her cheeks and when she regained control of herself she was suprised to feel this feeling. A feeling of ten thousand bitter tears. An odd thing for her to feel and when she opened her eyes she blinked in confusion as if waiting for her surroundings to disappear. What... What is this feeling? She lifted her hand and touched her cheek, feeling like a wee babe again, learning just how to feel and do things. Of course, Ember began to remember and the results were... Odd. She didn't jump up and demand to see Darius so she could kill him. She stayed still for a moment and slowly sat up.

Ember looked at Jennifer and stared for awhile. Without a reason she began to barrade the girl was qustions. "What am I... Feeling? This taste of ten thousand tears and bitter agony? What is it? Why? Why do I feel? Why?" Of course when she spoke of ten thousand tears she was speaking of sadness and the taste of betrayal. Two emotions she has never ever felt in her life. Her first emotions she's ever really felt. And so, when she spoke she made it painfully obviously to any human person around that she's never felt any these things we call emotions. She's never actually lived her life.

(THE ALEPH VS DARIUS SHIZZLE IS AWESOME)
Faith Alexis

"B'sides I'm gonna get on my way now..."

They were the words that stood out most to Faith. They caused her hazel eyes to widen to a unhealthy size, glittering with disbelief and pure panic. Ace had already given her response to his first few statements, but the second was her thoughts alone. A lump got caught up in her throat that made her face look drained all colour and life. "No..." Faith whispered in a barely audio able tone, her heart pounding hard up in her chest. She wanted him to stay more than anything, despite what a danger he had been portrayed to lately be. That boy with the dark secrets and the pair of contrasting eyes. "Darius...Please..." The youth stumbled forwards in his direction, but by now he was already heading out.

Faith just froze watching him leave. She wanted to run after him. To do something. But she just didn’t...

The woman behind her then began to awake, but she ignored everything she said. She did not even turn around to lunge a attack at her or throw a harsh insult. Faith just stated. "Darius just.. left..."

"My name isn't really important, but if you have to call me something, call me Jennifer." Her voice was loud, but somehow still quiet, focused as she tended to the girl before her. She almost rolled her eyes at the girl's reaction to Darius leaving, and held in a snort. Good riddance, she thought, we don't need whack-jobs like him about. But still, something told her that wasn't the last she'd see of him. Jennifer fell into a zone, her quick hands flying over the girl's body, trying to keep her decent and check her vitals all at the same time. Then suddenly, the girl spoke to her, her voice hard, but confused, and something shot through her blood.

"What am I... Feeling? This taste of ten thousand tears and bitter agony? What is it? Why? Why do I feel? Why?" she asked, her words cutting deep into Jennifer's stomach, making her want to double over.

"Yeah, feeling sucks. A lot. And what I'm guessing you've got is betrayal. You feel cheated, like someone you trusted just broke your heart. And it hurts. It hurts a lot." Jennifer stood, trying to smile, something broken in her eyes, lip quivering. What was it that Blondie had said, she was in charge? Blasted lovely choice, giving her a hold like that.

"I need to check something," she hissed, her breath rattling in her chest, eyes too gentle, too soft for the Jennifer she needed to be. "I'll be back." Spinning on her heel, Jennifer marched for a crumbling building, hands curled into fists, fingernails digging into her palms. She wasn't lying when she said feeling sucked, and now was neither the time nor place for her to fall to pieces for no reason. As she strode shakily for the solitude, her hand flew to her pocket, caressing a small bauble there, fingers stroking over the shiny surface, and she whipped into the building remains, crouching down and squeezing her eyes shut. Her entire body began to quiver, and she grit her teeth together in an attempt to stop the hollow ache in her chest.

Ace Tyrant

Ace watched as the once armoured female and Jennifer adapted a conversation. Though it was true he greatly feared the powerful female, for some reason he held a decent amount of trust with her and so approached, kneeling beside her alongside his blue eyed companion. "Daruis said to tell you he saved you from your true rivals, but I must say that’s a lie. However he helped you greatly. You should be grateful; he injured himself trying to heal you. But yes, he just left and we have the idea in our minds he has it in for us..." The blonde male explained gravely, suddenly noticing the sorrow in the raven haired girl’s voice. Something must have triggered her saddness, but what it was Ace had no idea.

"I need to check something,

Well that was a lie if he ever heard one.

And with that Jennifer left. A awful gut feeling rolled in the youths stomach, causing him to fall into bitterly cold silence. "Do you know what’s wrong with her?..." Ace asked the wounded female, his voice broken with the pity he held for his female guardian. "I want to follow her-..." The boy told her, but quickly glanced to Faith and Aleph, realizing their disliking for the woman below him. "But I can't really leave you..."

Ace Tyrant

At first the woman said nothing, fiddling furiously at her armour with tools and other pieces. She then spoke, though the conversation was not directed at him and so his mouth remained closed but his ears on the other hand were wide open. It was clear the brunette was also part of a organisation, which of course made him rather uneasy to hear such a thing. However that was not important now, then the man had mentioned something about a ship; its hostility level was unknown and so they could all be in danger. Jennifer had wandered off alone and in the wrong state of mind to defend herself...

She nodded lightly at Ace before turning on heel to leave. "Hey! Stay out of trouble and keep a eye out for this "ship", and watch your suite, you heard what they said..." The youth smiled giving a light wave before also heading off to go find his dear blue eyed companion.

It did not take too long for him to find her. Jennifer’s body was thrown against the wall, her face flushed a awfully unhealthy colour of red stained with the waters of pain. A foul looking and smelling liquid a few feet away from her and the atmosphere heavy with a dark and strong emotion. Ace froze, a lump in his throat at the sight of his powerful protector shattered in a way he never expected her to be.

The blonde boy ran towards her, collapsed to his knees and threw his arms around her with no words leaving his lips. Of course he would not be surprised if she beat him to a pulp on the spot for doing such a thing, but truly he could not help it. Her warmth was something he had longed for a long while now, but now was not the time to be thinking such things. "Do you want to talk?...I can listen, but if not just please stay here with me and let’s get you calmed down..." Aces voice was a silky whisper on her shoulder.

"Oh Jen..."

Ember turned to look at Ace leave and tried to understand what he had said. "-your suite, you heard what they said..." who was "They" and what had "They" said? She didn't know what he was talking about but went back to heading toward the ship. To help her AI targetted the ship's location with a visible Waypoint on her display. It didn't take her lots of time to get there but latter than she would have liked. So when she got there, she felt a little impatient and turned her Camauflage on, instantly blending in with her surroundings. She also tuned her body temp down to room temp. and also made an Echo which was just something that would mess with any nearby wiring that was no tagged as a friendly. Ember studied the ship and didn't see Oreron but instead commanded her AI to infiltrate the ship's system and send them her... Voice, er, her AI's automated voice. "Unknown ship this is S-E16. Identify yourselves and your intent for landing here." She smiled to herself and went into a crouch knowing if they had any cameras or vids, they wouldn't see her or find her AI's core system.

Oreron's eyes looked first then turned his head once he realized that it was only the soldier that he had protected earlier. She seemed well, but what she was doing didn't it well with him. "You know what you're doing solider?" He said, still looking up at the ship. It was truly a marvel, and there was no way that this ship was earthly. Weither the inhabitants came in peace or for help was the issue. He jumped from his perch, landing on all fours. He started trotting down the shore, as if trying to find a way into the ship without having much resistance. He needed to upgrade his armor, his survival had depended on it so far and with the kind of tech he thought was on board, he wouldn't need to for years at least if he could get in.

Oreron couldn't see any way to get into the ship. Knowing he's have to wait until it opened up somewhere, he trotted back up the short and back on his perch, looking in the direction of where ember was. He knew the kind of armor she was wearing and the fact that he took amusment at her 'friend's tasing but said armor, and the sound of low but deep chuckling from the faceless neco. "Your 'friend' is rather...intresting, soldier." he said, perching and watching the ship for any sign of opening up. "How you tolorate him is beyond me."

Ember wasn't bored but disintrested in the ship's reply to her AI. "Your 'friend' is rather...intresting, soldier." Ember used her auto focus to zoom in on Oreron's position, using multiple cameras set into her helmet to watch his and her surroundings. Than seemed to glare at Oreron figure. She was NOT a soilder..."How you tolorate him is beyond me." Okay, well she was a soilder but she was defintely NOT friends with Darius. She growled out a reply to Oreron, irked by how he thought... She and Darius could be "friends" after he shot her. "I am NOT... allied with that... Thing!" She was angry and flustered by how this guy thought or at least his... Pet name for her. She would not reply to being called a soilder... Ember gritted her teeth and her arm twitched, momentarily throwing off her camaflage. "And DON"T call me a soilder." She didn't know why she even talking to the animal. She was lying, and obviously not used to having social people on any missions with her.

Oreron tilted his head to the side and then seemed to deflate a bit before the light running down the middle of his helm brightened. "You have armor as one, and you act like one." He said, adjusting his crouch a bit before perching again. He chuckled at her over reaction to his joke, but he knew full well that the male who had shot her were not allies in the least. "It would be wise to learn sarcasim. Misunderstandings can be a matter of peace or war." He said, his voice low but with a rasp as if he hadn't talked in length in years. "Either way, the other two are...unwise to trust the snake. I've seen his kind before." In all honesty; Oreron wasn't sure why he was even conversing with the woman, he assumed that it was due to her being a soldier and nothing of particular importance was happening. Even with the fact that he did save her life, he didn't much care for debts.

ITN Kaze no Tani
Imperial Taiyou Navy 1st Imperial Armada

Image

The Scans and interface with the AI Systems of the ITN Kaze No Tani would seem to yield firewall after firewall as the ship's Cybernetic defenses worked to try and trace the intrusion into it's systems. Of course the Commandant above deck was also immediately notified of the breach by a young lieutenant.

"Ma'am, we have an unknown intrusion into our Systems, crews put the mainframes into autistic mode to be safe. We also received a communication, we translated the communication and learned they wish to know who we are, and our intention."

Ayako offered a slight nod, before she turned to face the Lieutenant. "Let's go introduce ourselves, then." She said, before she started towards the edge of the deck towards a platform suspended on a robotic crane. Those observing the ship and those trying to communicate wouldn't receive a response of any kind, in fact, they would likely find themselves shut out of the ship's systems and unable to access them any further.

There was an audible clunk and a massive crane arm swept above both Oreron and Ember, the crane came to a sudden stop before it lowered a large platform onto the ground in front of them. They would likely be taken back with what was seen before them.

Two humans, homo sapiens, perhaps slightly smaller than the average Neko, but their features were unmistakably human.

The woman that seemed to be in charge surveyed the two for a moment, while her soldiers, each equipped with powerful Taiyou Seburo MN-32 assault rifles kept their eyes on the two, and readied themselves in the event of a fight.

The woman stepped forward, the sound of gravel crunching under her feet heard.

"Hello... I come in peace." She said, holding her hands out in a non threatening manner, her english broken and heavily accented. "I am Ayako, I come from the Taiyou Empire." She said, her speech slow and deliberate.

The Men behind her watched on, their dark green uniforms and black vests contrasting with the strange armors of this world.

Image

Ayako extended her hand to first, Oreron, looking up at the strange being.

"Peace." She reiterated.

Oreron Hall

Oreron wasn't really sure what to think once at this human. The first human he had seen in years and not in a state of war, but ceritanly prepared for it with all the armed soliders around them. Even with them, their tech didn't seem as advanced as one would think of someone who had come from the cosmos. "I will show you peace, but there are those here who will not." He said, again his voice raspy from disuse. He was almost three meters taller than the woman, but still she didn't seem to show fear. "Your kind is not safe here and I advise caution if you are gathering resources." He spoke like he did when he was still a commander during the war. The helm opened slightly, enough to see flesh and a scar and enough for him to see them, but closed quickly once he got a good look. A low growl sounded from him, a short one but easily heard. He was hunched over, as if the armor he wore didn't allow him to stand all the way up. he looked like an upright animal from the way his armor looked rather than a neco. Not like he really cared in these times, being alone had done him well.

Katamura turned to Oreron, and Ember, and regarded them for several moments. She mentally assessed their armor. It looked like both of them were equipped with powered armor of some kind. Definitely not something her crew had advised her of. After all, she was expecting either a lifeless world, or a world that could offer little, if any resistance. "If there are those that would do me and my men harm, perhaps I should come better equipped to handle these threats." She said with a slight nod, inclining her head.

"Maybe I should invite you two on board, so you may apprise me of the threats I may face." She gestured to the ship once more, but this time, two towering behemoths were being raised onto the top deck, two King Oni mechs.

The King Onis resembled towering Samurai, their gleaming white armor glinting in the sun, and their towering form imposing upon the deck of the massive ship that carried them.

Image

The two King Oni stood watchful of their surroundings, being armed and prepared by a variety of engineers. Looks were deceiving as one of the Soldiers directly behind Katamura had been ferrying information via cybernetic implants to the ship's crew.

"Our kind is more than capable of defending ourselves should the need arise. You both look Scatterran yet something seems quite off... no matter... you've been hospitable enough... so please, come, join me." She said, backing up towards the platform and her men promptly followed suit.

She turned to Ember a moment to answer her question. "Homosapien.. that is a term I have not heard for some time... yes.. I believe that's correct, our Ancestors anyway, we're the descendants of the Homosapiens transplanted to our world by the Ancients, but that's another story for another time."

Oreron looked up at the mech, smirking to himself on the inside of his helm. Giant mechs as well, he thought to himself as he turned back to the human woman. "Only if you wish to, human." he said simply before dropping back to all fours again. The joints and the plates of armor seemed to relax from the strain of standing upright. He could only see their heat signatures, and that was all he needed right now. Well, that and food would not hurt the large neco in the least.

"You have my curiosity human. What is it what come to find on a dead world?" He asked, now seemingly watching her other men. He hadn't seen humans since the war and that was him killing them on orders of his commander when he was just a soldier. As a commander, he had advised his squad to leave their smaller cousins alone and let them live. A decision that cost him dearly mentally and physically. Scars that he did not wish to share with strangers.

Ember licked her lips... Humans? Disgraceful...! She shook her head, just as her veiw on the world was shut. Her visor turning black, blinding her to the outside world. "Pardon...but I have other matters to attend t-to." She didn't see Oreron leave, but she heard him. The small creaking of sliding metal, and the heavy footsteps. Her hand twitched. Headache... What's the matter? Static filled her ears. With a beeping noise, her blackout version of her visor disappeared. She could see. See? Blind, Cybrog..! She turned to watch the metal man leave. What was the matter? Heresy... -"Run Ember!" Her screen almost went out again, but it didn't. Ember looked at the humans beside her. Kill. Vision went red, just as her armor moved heading in the direction of Oreron, without her thinking. Thoughts are killing - Why...? Too much of pain... Malfunctioning... Ignore it. "Please?"

The voices were coming from her storage compartment. Was something in her system? Someone controlling her, and looking through her saved data logs? Ember then heard the noise of something crashing through the trees. Kill. Disobey, heritics! She ducked just as she a hand swept through the area where her head had been. She gritted her teeth, and reacted instinctively by lunging forward and tackling Oreron. Kill. Don't kill. - What is the matter with you? - Idiot! Her thoughts were in disarray. So it's you? - No! - Run away, be safe, little one. Ignorant metal tin can! What is wrong with you?

The silence broken, the calm cracked with him being tackled to the ground. The voices screaming at him to kill the attacker. He was already on the edge of madness once again and to have someone attack him now out surely send him closer to that edge. He opened his maw and roared grabbing at her arms with claws, raking loudly against her armor. "What do you want?!" He snarled as he kicked her off of him.

He looked feral as threw the woman off. Arms and legs spread out on all fours and head down like a cornered animal. The edge of madness brought him to this. Going over would keep him there.

Oreron couldn't keep the facade of even being in his right mind. His eyes shook and contracted, hair falling in his face and sharp teeth seen through the scar going up his face. The loss of life, the loss of purpose, the loss of something to live for; it had all been too much.

Watching the armored woman whom he had saved once before walking up to him with purpose. The kind he knew all too well. He pulled the machete from it's sheath on his back and snarled at her, chopping a chunk from out a nearby tree. A warning, one very clear. 'leave or die.'

The closer the woman got, the closer to the edge of madness it brought him. He was backed into the proverbal wall. He had done nothing but respond to the voices that pluaged him and this was his reward. This was why he trusted no one, not even the most benign looking of people. Neco or Sapien.

He swung the large blade at her, another threat that should have nicked her but there was something off. The tip had gone right through her. A hologram or a hallucination. Either way, it made him freeze up again as if he had cracked somewhere. Soon he turned tail with a crazed look in his eyes, not even bothering to close the helmet over his face again. He needed to run, run before he got the idea to find to find where the hologram was coming from. To kill the source of it. Run before the urge to spill blood was too strong.
