Wes found it hard not to stare at this... Keith. Who was he? Obviously, he was no Daniel. Everything about him, from what he could tell, was the opposite of what Daniel was. Wes didn't know him as well as some of the others, but he knew enough to know something was off. He shifted uncomfortably where he stood, pursing his lips in thought. He could only hope this interesting development reached Andy at a more opportune moment. Maybe she'd be lucky enough to first hear it from Trinity's lips, instead of discovering it on her own.

And speaking of Trinity. “He would have mentioned something if he had a twin, right?”

Wes rubbed the back of his neck, then sighed. "I think you should warn her," he cleared his throat before continuing. "Andy... That's if she doesn't run into him on the battlefield."

He remained quiet and attentive listening to the rest of the battle plan. It all seemed like sound logic in his opinion, but he doesn't particular have a mind for battle strategy. Hopefully, Wes could just hold his ground with whomever... Or, whatever crossed his path. There might be a small handful of people at the camp that he could take on, but that wasn't promising. Part of him wished he could be the one to capture the other teams flag. It definitely put him under a new light, instead of the Aphrodite kid that lost his arm in the war last year. Not that Wes was ever a force to be reckoned with in the first place, but he liked the idea... Even if he knew it wouldn't happen.

“Where do you want it?”

Wes' attention was brought back to the blonde beside him. He then glanced about himself trying to figure out the best place to put those. With one hand, his wrist wouldn't be the most practical place. His hand grabbed the hem of his shirt, while his index finger tapped his belt loop. Once she fastened it for him, he smiled slightly. "Thanks."

“Seriously though, Wes, use your powers and be an ass because people won't give you the same mercy.” He looked around at the other members of their team as Trinity tried to give Wes a pep talk. He knew this all was practice to prepare them all for real battle, but these were all their friends, companions and comrades. He exhaled deeply through his nose. “If they're in red, they're the enemy,” she added.

He sighed, with a slight smirk and a roll of his eyes. "I'm battle inept, not color blind."

Trin then grabbed his chin, forcing him to look down at her. “Don't make me have to give you rage,” she teased.

Wes subconsciously leaned his head into her touch, just a little. He gave her a final nod. "Yes ma'am," he replied before she walked away to talk to Ajax.

He stood there for a minute, his hand mindlessly tugging and adjusting his colors that were attached to his belt loop. Finally, Wes walked over to the bag of weapons Alaric left on the table for them. He stared down at what was left, trying to decide what to grab. He only had one arm, after all, which limited what he could carry and accomplish. Wes wasn't much of a fighter, so defense was always the best strategy but he still needed something incase he came upon one of the monsters out there. He sifted through the bag until he found a shield with a strap, that allowed him to wear it over his back similar to a backpack. With his hand free, he snatched up a spear, remembering he was somewhat decent with one against the Hydra last year.

With no more time to waste, Wes took a deep breath and headed out into the thick of things. He started out through the woods, making sure to branch out from the others. He moved in a forward direction, in what he could only hope was toward the other team's flag. After a minute or so of walking, he found himself in the thicket of the woods. Of course, he couldn't stay out in the open. Someone like Andy or Alex would be on him in the blink of the eye if he was openly visible. So he needed to be somewhere that he could see everything, where he could be mildly camouflaged.

He found a large evergreen tree, and slowly walked up to its truck. From only a few feet away the stalk of the tree is hidden behind the pine needles, but once under it you could see all the way up to the top. Wes sighed, slipping the spear between his back and the shield. "You can climb a tree with one hand," he muttered quietly to himself reassuringly as he wiped his palm off on his jeans.

It wasn't the most graceful thing ever, but Wes managed to ascend the tree. It took a couple slips and broken branches to fully get the swing of something so simple, that usually called for all four appendages. Once he was high enough up, he could see far enough back to their own flag, and forward to what he could presume was either the middle, or just beyond. He adjusted himself on the branch until he was steady enough to allow movement without throwing off his balance. His fingers then snapped a couple small twigs to allow for better visibility without removing his camouflage.

Then he waited. At least up high, Wes was out of reach of most monsters. He was at a good height to where he could jump down to help a team mate, or stop an opponent... Or try at least.

As Theo talked, assigning a plan of attack and defense for them, Andy did her best to make her rounds to her fellow teammates. Each one she gave a gentle tap on the shoulder, giving them some basic, light weight leather armor and such. It wasn't so much for going against the other campers, but for the monsters. She wasn't exactly sure what they would come across in the wounds, but a little extra protection never hurt any body.

She returned to Mason's side just as Theo finished. To no surprise, herself and Mason would be attackers. It made sense, and honestly, Andy would probably go crazy if she was told to stand around and play defense. She wasn't, by any means, a defensive player. Her mind was hard wired to attack, attack, attack. Luckily as well, Theo's mind was where hers was in the scheme of partnering up. That always seemed to be a strong strategy, especially when the two had varying abilities and skills which made them strong compliments.

"Couldn't have said it any better," Alex chimed in, catching Andy's attention. "I just want to add. No doubt others will want to take out the beasts, but we could use them couldn't we? Mason." Andy shifted uncomfortably where she stood, but only slightly. Something about actually hearing Alex say his name heightened her senses. Ever since everything that happened last year, she could't help but get tense whenever whenever Ajax or Alex mention Mason, or vice versa. "He could tame the beasts, or would that be considered as cheating? I mean, Alaric did say we can use our powers."

"Let's not pretend cheating matters to you," Mason replied coldly.

Andy parted her lips to reply, but thankfully Kalani chimed in in her own chipper way that quickly changed the tone. "I mean, I could always help with that? Since I'm pretty sure my abilities would come in handy to get them onside. Just a thought."

"And I can try. We can try," Mason added.

Andy nodded her head in acknowledgement. "I think that's a good idea. I can conjure up cages and help distract or corral them. I'd rather not kill them unless absolutely necessary. Mason was able to calm a minotaur last year," she added while motioning her hand toward him. "And Wes was able to make giants chase after their own kind of out obsession. Your powers could be really useful, Kalani." Andy smiled toward her.

"I could help Dominick and Finn, I can help heal wounds if they need, or blind enemies if they need that advantage....but if you need me to help follow the others and keep their wounds clear I can help," Nik offered.

Andy looked over toward Theo who was already partnering up and planning his strategy with Elias. And Alex was gone almost instantly. So, she took a step toward Nik with a smile. "I think defense is perfect. If anyone gets hurt, we'll have them retreat back to the flag. If things get... Intense, I'll shoot up a flare or something." She smiled, giving him a pat on the shoulder before she returned back to Mason.

"Let's go." Mason gestured toward her and she hurried to his side. As they started into the wood, her right hand hovered around her throwing knives while her left was slightly extended before her, ready to use magic at a moment's notice. They hadn't been walking for long when Mason spoke up. "So what happened last night huh?" His words took her by surprise, causing Andy to nearly trip over her own feet. This was probably the worst time for small talk, especially about that. Her heart began to pound in her chest as she swallowed hard, looking over at him.

"You know, I actually had a little more faith in you. What’s worse is you’re supposed to be better than that. You know what he’s done, where he’s been but you act like a little teen girl with no self control. I mean what’d he do? Blow in your ear, tell you he loves you? If I wanted to conquer someone in the sac, I’d do that too, Andy!"

Andy froze where she stood, her mouth a gape as the true sting of his words hit her like a knife in the gut. Part of her wanted to just walk away and not humor whatever Mason decided to be mad at her about this time. Part of her wanted to defend herself. And another part wanted to punch him. She could feel the anger boiling up in her, the anger and the pain. Her emotions have been so raw and unfiltered since the new year and camp. She found it more and more difficult to sensor herself or suppress her anger.

But she couldn't stop herself before the words fell from her lips like poison. "Conquer me? Is that what I am? A conquest?" Andy could feel the tears stinging her eyes when she finally spoke. "Well, which is it Mason? Am I supposed to be a virgin saint or a conquest?" She stepped in front of him, making direct and unwavering eye contact. "What fucking right do you have to judge me?" Andy jabbed her index finger in the air toward him with each word.

She took a deep breath as a silent tear ran down her cheek as she searched his face for an answer. Mason was supposed to be her best friend, yet he judged her and got mad at her every turn she made. There was no way to win. "Where in the hell is this coming from!? Why do you even—" Then Andy froze, the realization hitting her over the head like a baseball bat. Jealousy. She exhaled a sharp breath and sniffled back the tears. "Gods, do you know how hard it is to tell how you feel about me? If you hate or love me? You are always mad at me. Nothing I do is good enough for you. You don't trust me. And you talk down to me as if it's only a matter of time before I turn against you and leave you!"

Andy took a step toward him, trying to lower her voice to not give away their location. But, in the same breath the deeper in anger she fell, the more vulnerable she became and the more truths came out. "I have never betrayed you and I won't. I care so much about you, Mason. I love you. You are one of the most important people to me... and you don't even care." Her hands fell to her sides as she shrugged, exasperated. "I guess you have your answer then, don't you? Maybe if you learned to trust me and open up to me..." her voice trailed off. It'd be you, not Ajax. Her eyes fell. She didn't need to say it.

"You know what, fuck this." He put his hand in the air out of frustration, then turned and left in a cloud of smoke.

Andy nodded her head, tucking her lips between her teeth as she nodded her head. She took in a shaky breath, raising her hands to wipe her eyes, but they froze as they covered her face. She just wanted to melt where she stood. Right then and there, she had half a mind to rip off her colors and storm off. She could get pretty far away before anyone noticed she left. Her fingers pinched the fabric of her colors as she looked down at it. Just as she was about to tear it free she heard footsteps approaching from behind and a deep guttural growl rumble in the foliage to her left.

"I'll hang back, just in case any stragglers get through."

Sylas quirked a brow at the comment. He didn't have to know Ajax well to know that it was out of character. From the stories he'd heard about Mr. Perfect-pants, he was always one of the first people to charge into battle right alongside his warrior woman that Mason was secretly lusting after. Yet, here stood the mighty Ajax himself, opting to stay back to take care of stragglers? Pathetic. This was the guy that all these campers looked up to? A man who out of no where loses his courage and pusses out? Of course, now this meant Sylas wouldn't be fighting alongside him during capture the flag. But, with the right about of leverage it could be the pinnacle catalyst to cause a turning point in power at this retched camp. Small moments like these cause a snow ball effect.

"Can we join hands for a moment or touch? It’s not to pray, I promise you.” He glanced over at the redhead, and at first he was apprehensive. But, regardless if he desired to or not, he had to keep up the pretenses. So, he extended his right hand and placed it on the shoulder of the person closest to him. Then like a wave that washed over him, his senses were heightened almost like a drug but without the crash.

Sylas went over to the provided weapons, glancing over the options. Unlike most of the others, he went for a more subtle, underestimated piece. A sword that looked similar to a pirate's or a fencing sword. Small, thin but light weight. It didn't look like it could do much damage, but a cut in the right place is always deadly. Unlike more common swords, one like this is light which makes for quicker and more agile movements. Speed is always crucial in battle.

With weapon in hand, Sylas walked over to Duke and Ajax just as Trinity headed off in one direction. "I guess I'll take the left side," he said while pointing his hand in the direction he intended on traveling. His gaze drifted over toward Ajax. "If you change your mind, just follow the West side of the forest. I'm going to try and flank." He gave them both a pat on the shoulder before he disappeared into the thick of the woods.

It seemed, so far, luck was on Sylas' side as he traveled through the trees with haste. He hadn't come across any of the beasts, although he heard a couple in the distance as they broke twigs under foot or started their pursuit of another camper. On occasion, he'd see a brief glimpse of a Spartan zipping through the tree line, heading in the opposite direction toward his team's flag. But he ignored it. Ajax was there to take care of stragglers after all. And if he failed? Well, wouldn't that be an interesting development.

Sylas' footsteps slowed when he heard two voices in the direction he approached. He came up behind a boulder, slowly and cautiously leaning his head around the large object. His gaze was met by the sight of Mason and the back of a brunette's head. Due to the fact Mason wasn't trying to kill the girl, he could only assume it was Andy. Making sure he was out of sight, he held his hand in Andy's direction and closed his eyes. Instead of feelings of anger, he let despair, worthlessness and dread flow from himself and into the woman. He didn't wish to aid her anger at Mason, but make herself worth fade. Like planting a seed, he placed feelings of hopelessness, and longing... Longing for Mason's approval and fear of losing him.

Giving it a moment or two after Mason left, Sylas held his sword at the ready and came out in the opening. He stopped a few feet behind her, holding the tip of his blade toward the back of her neck. His body tensed slightly, when he too heard the growl that came from the left. "Sounds like we're not alone," he replied with a smugness. "I give it... 30 seconds before whatever that is decides to join us. So, how about you hand over your colors now and make it easier on the both of us."

Image Mason expected Andy's retaliation and snap back but he couldn't contain himself. After all the shit Ajax had done and his bitch little sister, and after all Mason and Andy have been through...He just wanted her to wisen up and it wasn't happening. So his patience was on a thin thread.

Mason's eyes might have grown a twinkle in them as a beast clamped down on Alex's shoulder, her screams of pain and squirming only egging the beast on. It was a show Mason couldn't tear his eyes from, and Alex in pain, why, he wouldn't miss it for the world even when her screams were likely to bring about attention. She hit at it persistently until it fled then she collapsed against the tree catching her breath and inspecting her glorious wound. Mason's fists clenched into hard balls then Ajax raced on scene.

"You son-of-a-bitch!" Ajax stormed up to Mason and shoved him in the chest. Mason stumbled back and his nostrils flared. "Don't you, EVER, hurt her again. I swear... I will rip your damn head off!" Ajax just volunteered. Mason growled and charged into the son of Zeus, tackling him to a tree. The two battled for control until Mason threw Ajax's weight down. That plus the bulging tree roots helped Ajax lose his footing. Mason got on top of Ajax and punched him in the face over and over with his dominant knuckle.
"Shouldn't have brought her to camp then you piece of shit."
Mason smashed his knuckle against Ajax again. Each hit was like sending a message. For Hades, for Jenn, for Andy, for me.

ImageHe supposed things would be okay as the absolute last line of defense. Duke had assigned people to the middle as an offensive defensive force type, then there was Ajax helping with stragglers. So Keith felt better for it until Ajax abandoned the position, darting off when there was a scream in the woods.

Keith wanted to caution it could be someone playing on Ajax's need to help others and be this leader figure, but it wasn't Keith's place and it was no use because Ajax was stubborn and certain it was Alex's scream above all. But another part of him wanted to laugh at how typical it seemed, how easy he could be lured to trickery. He grabbed his temple as it was like the damn devil in his head and quickly made himself productive. He picked up the flag no one else thought to attempt hiding and pursed his lips.

Thinking of how to protect the base and where to hide the flag had him pacing, but the more he thought about it, the more he liked the idea of having it in plain sight. Misdirection. The word kept echoing in his head. He waved his hand across the woods so blue flags popped up a few feet from each other. The game was capture the flag, not a flag and Keith had to admit it was a fun technicality to argue. Plus, if stragglers got through the brawns of the blues, this little live where's wally edition could hold the Spartans up for a potential time. But maybe not long enough...maybe it wasn't defensive enough. Keith drew up a forcefield closer to the real flag but where decoys still resided. He really did need help but for now he just prepared and acknowledged the worse, treating the base like he was alone.

AJAX VALIS
SON OF ZEUS
TEAM TROJANS!
Hex: Green
Ajax took a fighting stance as he watched and anticipated Mason's next move. Mason growled at first, but he quickly charged right into Ajax at the same time as Ajax took a swing at him with a right hook. While fighting for control, the back of Ajax's heels hit the thick roots of the tree, causing him to land on his back before Mason got on top of him. Repeatedly he felt the pounds of flesh and bone hitting his face, slowly pulling him to succumb. Ajax's face was cut and bloody, but soon as there was a split second, of a chance, Ajax rammed his knuckles into Mason's ribs.

Before either one of them could attack again, Alex ran as best she could with her injured shoulder and jumped on Mason's back. She was grabbing at his neck and even got him in a headlock before he tossed her forward over his shoulders by the arms, throwing her to the ground.

"Enough!" Ajax shouted, stopping Mason and Alex from making another move. Alex got herself up off the ground, her eyes glaring at Mason. "This has to stop. Mason, I know you don't like my family, but this is all pointless."

ALEXANDRIA VALIS
DAUGHTER OF ZEUS
TEAM SPARTANS!
Hex: #d63b71

Alex wanted to carry on fighting. She may not be as strong as her brother, but she wasn't about to let Mason push her around. With her arms down by her sides and now standing next to her brother, her hands were tightly held in fists.

She advanced toward Mason, but Ajax put his arm out to stop her, and began battling with her to keep her back. "I said enough. Calm down." his voice more stern. He pushed her back, but still kept hold of her. "You're better than this. Don't let the actions of others change who you are. Don't let father's anger get the best of you." he quietly spoke to her. Slowly her fists relaxed, her tense shoulders following suit. He turned back towards Mason, and shook his head. "Mason, listen." he took a step toward him cautiously, but Alex quickly moved to Mason and swung for him, her right fist heading for his jaw. Ajax quickly wrapped his arms around his sister's middle, lifting her up off the ground slightly before that fist of hers could make contact. She was shouting and kicking to get her brother of her, ignoring the injury she had gained. Anger took over since everything had fallen apart for her. Many were beliving Mason's lies. "How about you tell everyone the truth?" she screamed at him as Ajax held onto her as tightly as he could manage. "Tell them what really happened, you piece of shit!"

Well, sitting around and waiting for people to cross his path was less than thrilling for Wes. He lost track of how much time he spent high up in the branches, yet no one crossed his path. He'd come to accept that the chances of him capturing the flag were slim to none. But, he also felt like sitting around there doing nothing wasn't helpful either. Maybe if he were lucky, he could get a person's colors or two before his own is taken and he gets knocked out.

With a sigh, Wes slid his spear behind him between his back and shield. Then he began a very awkward and clumsy decent down the tree. When he was several feet above the ground, he lost his grasp and subconsciously his mind tried to make his right arm grab a branch to stable himself. But like a phantom limb, he felt the movement but nothing happened beside his nub flailing as he fell backwards, landing with a thud on his back.

Wes let out a loud gasp as the wind was knocked out of him. His hand clutched to his chest as he remained on the ground. After a long moment, he groaned, staring up at the large tree above him. He could now cross climbing a tree off his short list of talents.

Sounds of rustling in near by bushes and the breaking of twigs caught his attention, when he'd much rather lay on the ground until the game was over. He propped himself up on his elbow, but froze when he went to stand, feeling a breath exhaled on the back of his neck. Trying not to make any sudden movements, he slowly glanced over his shoulder to be met by a large snout less than a foot from his face. He gave a nervous laugh as the beast growled at him. Wes held up his hand in an innocent, surrendering manner.

"Easy now," he said in a soft, hushed tone. Wes made sure each word was smooth like silk, slipping through his lips similar to a siren song. But his subtle tactics didn't seem to work. Thankfully the beast didn't attack him, but it didn't stop growling or loosen its intimidating stance.

As calmly as he could manage, Wes shifted so that he was in a crouching position, with his hand still held out. He made sure not to make direct eye contact as he slowly extended his hand toward the creature. "Now, that's a good boy," he said, inching closer to the hound. But the second boy left his lips, the beast's nails dug into the dirt and a deep growl rubbled in its throat. "Girl, girl... That's what I meant."

Wes took a deep breath, turning his gaze toward the hound's. He extended the fingers on his hand as his palm was near the animals snout. While he spoke, he allowed loving, caring and protective emotions flow into the animal. "Of course you're a girl. You're too pretty to be a boy." He smiled slightly as he compelled her to concede and relax.

It was gradual. Wes could see the tension leave the hound as her growl slowly grew quieter and quieter until it all together stopped. When she seemed calm, he made the final move, placing his hand upon her snout. With that touch, a warmth spread out from his hand into the animal. And then, with just a brush of his thumb against her fur, her backside fell to the ground with a thud as she sat down. The hound's tail began to wag as she placed a rather large, sloppy, smelly lick across his face.

Wes sighed, allowing himself to fall to his knees and relax. He scratched the large beast's head and rubbed her ears. "That's a good girl." There was a sound not too far off of a twig snapping. Like a switch, the beast's ears perked up and she moved in front of Wes protectively, growling in the direction of the sound.

Wes hopped to his feet, quickly moving beside the hound, placing his hand on her back. "It's alright." He then carefully climbed onto her back. Once situated, he leaned forward, patting her side. "Wanna help me find a flag?" Her tail wagged affectionately as she awaited his direction. "Alright girl, lets go." Without a moments hesitation, the beast barreled off into the woods with Wes on her back, heading in the direction of the Spartan's flag.

"Sounds like we're not alone," Andy heard from behind her. "I give it... 30 seconds before whatever that is decides to join us. So, how about you hand over your colors now and make it easier on the both of us." The voice was familiar, but not familiar enough for her to place who it was. She stood still while her right hand slowly moved toward her thigh holster. As she felt the prick of a sword against the back of her neck, she moved into action. In a swift move, her right hand grabbed a throwing knife between her index and middle finger. She spun on her heels, grabbing his blade in her left hand, yanking it to the side, aiming it away from her.

Andy came to face her attacker, Sylas. She raised her right hand, pressing the knife to his throat while she held a firm grip on his sword, keeping it at her side. "Didn't Mason tell you, him and I are basically masters at fighting beasts." She tapped her knife against his neck while smiling. "I'm content as a cucumber waiting until it makes its presence."

Sylas took a threatening step forward so that his chest was against Andy's as he glanced down at her. He smirked a sadistic grin, tauntingly pressing his neck back against her blade. After all, him and Mason agreed to be allies... Not friends. There were no boundaries set when it came to the daughter of Hecate. He was itching at the chance to see what she was worth, to see what the deal was with this seemingly ordinary girl. Sylas wanted to size her up, and if roughing her up got him bad standings with Mason, well so be it. After all, he wasn't here to make friends anyways.

"So... That hard way it is."

Sylas didn't hesitate. He grabbed Andy's wrist, pulling it away from his throat while he yanked his sword from her grasp. If she didn't know better, she would have thought he sliced open her hand. She glanced down for just a moment finding her palm unharmed, yet the pain continued. Enchanted weapons, she reminded herself. When she brought her attention back to Sylas, he was swinging his sword through the air, the blade aiming right for her neck. Andy stepped back, bending backwards. She watched as the sword passed overhead, nearly clipping the tip of her nose.

Andy quickly stood upright and threw her right foot into his chest. The momentum sent Sylas stumbling backwards. While off kilter, she threw a knife at his right hand. When the blade hit him, he winced, dropping his sword. She then dove forward, reaching for his colors but just before she could grab it, Sylas grabbed her wrist and twisted it. The uncomfortable position and force of his hold knocked her down on her knees. While she was down, he raised his fist and slammed it down on her, smashing into her nose.

When he went to punch her again, Andy moved her head out of the way, sweeping her foot behind his legs. Once she knocked him to the ground, she raised her hand to her nose, wincing when she touched it. As she pulled her hand away, she looked down seeing her fingers covered in blood. Something in her gut told her that Sylas had no intention in keeping this fight as a friendly spar. Before he could attempt to get back up, Andy quickly moved on top of him. She elbowed him once in the gut and upper cut him in the jaw. Then she grabbed his hands, pinning him down on the ground.

Sylas chuckled. "You have some fight in you." Even pinned, he threw his head forward, slamming his forehead against her nose again. He could feel the bone in her nose snap on collision. But it wasn't enough to throw her off of him, if anything it just made her angrier. "It all makes sense now."

"What are you talking about?" Andy hissed, digging her knee into his abdomen.

"I get it now... What Ajax and Mason see in you."

The comment made her freeze. Andy could feel the blood dripping down her lips from her broken nose as she stared down at Sylas. It was one thing when this was in her thoughts, but hearing someone else... Someone who knows nothing about her, or them, say what has been nagging at the back of her head... It twisted her gut. Before she could say anything else, she heard a scream in the distance that sounded like Alex's. The noise distracted her enough for Sylas to overpower her, flipping her over so that he was now pinning her.

That must have been the end of their 30 seconds because the beast burst out of the bushes and charged for them. Andy watched it get closer when the idea hit her. Just at the right moment, she focused her power on Sylas, throwing him in the air into the wake of the beast. The hound rammed into him and slammed him into a tree. With him distracted, Andy jumped to her feet and ran off into the woods in the direction of the scream. She wasn't the type to jump at helping Alex, but she knew what her screams meant... Mason and that meant Ajax wouldn't be far behind.

Andy sprinted through the woods, jumping over tree roots and ducking under tree branches. As she ran, her hand would raise up to wipe blood that dripped from her nose, wincing whenever she bumped the tender bone. It wasn't long before she came out into a small clearing. From the distance, it looked like everyone was calm, until Ajax moved toward Mason, Alex took the opportunity to move on him. Without hesitation, Andy ran over toward them, putting herself between Alex and Mason.

Alex's fist nearly hit Mason, and herself on recoil. Andy turned to face Mason, but with her attention on him she wasn't able to see Alex thrashing behind her as Ajax held her back. As she writhed in her brother's hold, one of Alex's kicks slammed into Andy's jaw. The forced knocked her off balance, causing her to stumble into Mason. Her left hand stabled herself against her friend, while her right hand raised to hold her jaw as she glanced over her shoulder at Alex with wide eyes.

"How about you tell everyone the truth?" Alex shouted like a mad woman. "Tell them what really happened, you piece of shit!"

Fed up everything, Andy turned around to face Alex. "Will you ever learn to stop accusing people of things before you have proof?" She shrugged her shoulders, sniffling from her bloody nose. "What has Mason supposedly lied about? There is nothing to lie about. You murdered Jennova... In cold blood, without any proof that she did what you claimed she did." She motioned toward Mason. "He has every right to want you dead. You have no idea what it is like to have lost a sibling... He has to live everyday with her murderer right in front of him. Do you think that's easy?" Andy cocked her head to the side.

She was tired of being the nice guy, never speaking her mind. She always tried to stop the fighting and kept her opinions to herself. But, she couldn't any longer. "This all," Andy motioned her hands toward all of them. "Is your fault... Two of the most important people in my life, can't stop trying to kill each other because of you." She sighed, shaking her head slightly. "The world doesn't revolve around you, Alex. Maybe you should think about that next time, before you try to kill someone else."

Her gaze drifted toward Ajax, a soft sigh escaping her lips. "She's never going to learn from her mistakes if you keep helicoptering. She made her bed," she said, motioning her hand toward Alex. "Now she has to lie in it." With nothing else to say, Andy wiped her bloody nose on the back of her hand. She slowly pivoted on her heels until she was half turned toward Mason.

Heeding Theo's directions, Sloane lingered back back while everyone quickly split off in their different directions. She glanced around at the other defensive teammates, then at the flag that was out in the open. With a sighed, she grabbed it and looked over toward Ji-hyun. "Neither one of us are... fighters." She rubbed the back of her neck, then motioned her head up in the trees. "If we put the flag high up in the tree, then it might give us enough time to do our... thing before they reach it."

Sloane wasn't a strategist, but it was something. All the offensive people were off doing their thing and who knew what half of the defensive people were doing. So, she took it upon herself to find a home for the flag that at least benefitted herself and Ji-hyun. To the best of her knowledge, the only person on the other team who could fly is Ajax... So, as long as they were prepared for that, the height of the flag would give them both more than enough time for either Ji-hyun to make them pass out or for Sloane to do... Something.

She tucked the flag into the back of her belt and walked over to the tree. "Watch my back?" she asked Ji-hyun before she began ascending the tree. Sloane was by no means the most active, but she made it to the top fairly easy. She found a branch that extended out farther than the others so that the flag would be visible... After all, that was the rule of capture the flag. Once it was secured, she climbed back down to rejoin her teammate.

Sloane dusted off her hands as she stood there awkwardly beside Ji-hyun. She definitely was not the most social person, but in a game like this, she didn't really have a choice. After a moment, she blew air out between her lips and looked over at him. "So... If either you can make them sleep, or I can manipulate their perceived reality... Hopefully that should buy us enough time until someone else grabs their flag. Right?"

Image The one blow to his ribs made Mason cradle his side but before he could lunge back at Ajax something lunged on him. Alex's arm locked around his neck heaving him backwards away from her brother with her on his back and before they got too secure around his neck he threw her off.

Mason advanced towards her. "Enough!" Ajax jumped between them. Mason actually halted to hear out his inspiring speech. His one good reason why they should stop. "This has to stop. Mason, I know you don't like my family, but this is all pointless."

His eyes shifted to Alex who he could tell wanted to go again, the fire and hate practically burning in her eyes. Sure enough the wild thing acted out and Ajax had to hold her back and battle to calm her. Let her try. Mason hadn't had his share of inflicting pain on her yet.
"Mason, listen..."
Alex raced around her brother and swung for him. Mason's head jerked back and went wide eyed, the fist set to connect to his face just missed then Andy was there. As Alex fought with her brother thrashing and kicking, looking like an animal that belonged in an enclosure instead of a girl, she kicked Andy's jaw. Mason caught Andy the same time she was able to steady herself against him and he looked her over checking she was okay before his dark glare moved to Alex.
"How about you tell everyone the truth? Tell them what really happened, you piece of shit!"
Mason took one stomp forward wanting to march up to the girl but Andy was there as a buffer and he pulled himself up short.
"Will you ever learn to stop accusing people of things before you have proof?" Andy said before he could say anything. "What has Mason supposedly lied about? There is nothing to lie about. You murdered Jennova... In cold blood, without any proof that she did what you claimed she did. He has every right to want you dead. You have no idea what it is like to have lost a sibling... He has to live everyday with her murderer right in front of him. Do you think that's easy?"
With gritted teeth he watched Alex ready to push aside Andy if she lunged again.
"This all," she continued with a gesture to them. "Is your fault... Two of the most important people in my life, can't stop trying to kill each other because of you." He scoffed quietly. That seemed like giving her a bit too much credit. And screw Ajax's importance. "The world doesn't revolve around you, Alex. Maybe you should think about that next time, before you try to kill someone else."
For the most part, he agreed. Minus the civility. Alex didn't deserve it. She was selfish, impulsive and couldn't take responsibility of her own actions or admit she was a murderer.
Andy softened when directing her words to Ajax. She was no less tired of them but she was softer with him. "She's never going to learn from her mistakes if you keep helicoptering. She made her bed, now she has to lie in it."
"Just let it be a death bed, Ajax and we'll move on." He strained to keep his voice even. Mason was dead serious even when he knew it wasn't going to happen. He hated Ajax but he'd leave him be and the camp if he got Alex. "And you, I didn't even tell the whole camp you're a murderous psycho bitch who slaughtered my sister which is the truth." Mason started forward towards Alex. "And I haven't lied to anyone. I never claim to be a saint. Never claim to be a victim." Mason glanced to Andy then back at the Valises. What he was going to say next sounded provoking but it was the truth. "You two can't save anyone. Where's your exes, Ajax? Where's half the campers from last year? Where's your mom, huh? All you do is let people down and they normally pay for your consequences in blood."

Mason ripped off his band and dropped it on the ground, paying one last glance to Andy then took himself to the hall.
Alaric awaited readily with arms crossed and disapproving glare. Mason sighed out knowingly. "Yeah, yeah, I'll do camp maintenance for a week." He probably could have got away from the wrath of staff had it not been within camp activities, his own team and monitored.

Image He had strode on without a scuffle, without a hitch which meant majority of the reds were flanking or prioritized defensive measures. Or if he was really lucky, they were being lazy and slacking on the job though they didn't seem the kind and it was better to assume the reds were being proactive. A simple crack of a twig ahead had him spin into a tree in wait. It's like the wind took on a new form because whatever was approaching was approaching fast but was light. Lighter than a beast, though it wasn't to say the beasts couldn't be light and agile. The shape darted by and Duke quickly sent a ball of flame hurling forward. The flame hit near their feet and raced ahead then circled around them entrapping them in a ring of fire with a hand gesture and Duke ran to see the catch.
Duke puffed lightly coming to a halt and lowered the fierce flames to reveal a dark-haired woman. "Harley," he greeted and gave a court nod. "Didn't keep you waiting too long I hope?" Sometimes Duke lost perspective of what extreme heat was like to others. In fact the vision of her became somewhat distorted through the heat. Duke tightened the circle not allowing the daughter of Hermes room for escape or so much room as to devise an escape plan knowing her strengths were very much in movement, athletics and escapology.

Duke crossed his arms paying a conscious look to their surroundings then locked his eyes back on Harley. "You can give me your band or you can pass out. Torture isn't my thing but I would like to know the Spartan's strategy too." The flame spat near the ankle. Duke rarely bluffed.

ALEXANDRIA VALIS
DAUGHTER OF ZEUS
TEAM SPARTANS!
Hex: #d63b71

She felt her brother's hand squeeze hers, which meant to be his way of quietly telling her to stay calm, but she couldn't stay calm when Andy was talking like she knew Alex, but knew nothing. Mason's words cut the deepest, and she knew that Ajax wouldn't react to them since he knew Mason was only saying it all out of anger and pain. Even there were some truths to it. Alex's eyes began to fill with tears as she hesitated a step forward with her brother holding her hand still.

She went to say what she felt needed to be said, to defend herself, but the words wouldn't come out.

Alex tore off her colors as she walked away, letting the red band fall to the ground. One of her feet stepped on it as she headed to the medical hut. She did not once look back and kept going until she was out of their line of sight.

For the first time, she felt like she didn't belong. This entire world would be better off without you. Mason's right, you are a murderer. You may know that it was Jennova since Mason wouldn't even go that far, and no one else would do it would they? but you still should have been certain it was Jenn who killed her. You're a fool. No one will trust you or even like you again. You'll be alone. Even those you care about will probably turn against you eventually. Even your own brother.

"Shut up" she said to herself whilst gritting her teeth with one hand on the right side of her head.

Once at the hut, she pulled the thin material aside that hung over the doorway, her eyes looking around as she entered. She dropped the material curtain behind her, finding the place luckily empty, and slipped onto the closest bed before she carefully lay herself down on it, turning her back to the door as she slowly curled into a fetus position.

She began to cry into the corner of her pillow, muffling the sounds against the soft cotton.

Everyone would have probably lived if Hades hadn't broken his promise to Zeus. Hopefully, this wasn't going to become the fates of those who were new to Camp. She could not bear any more death to befall them.

AJAX VALIS
SON OF ZEUS
TEAM TROJANS!
Hex: Green
Andy wasn't going to stop from saying what she felt she had the right to since it was her opinion and same for Mason, but Ajax wasn't going to let their words bother him like Mason probably hoped. Ajax was much more grounded than that. He had years of training above Alex, so he knew his sister wouldn't be the same. Zeus's anger stirred wildly in her. Was that her fault? no. Every God/Demigod has their strengths, weaknesses, and flaws. Even the children of Aphrodite who had always been painted as perfect in their Greek mythology.

"Shut up." He told Andy before his eyes went back to Mason. His sister had left in a way he didn't expect. Quietly without another chance to get her claws into the both of them. Andy had said what she needed to but was taking it a little too far. Mason was too, but Ajax still remained calm.

"You know that isn't going to happen," he told Mason. There was no chance on Earth, Mount Olympus, or the Underworld of him getting Alex before peace could finally grace their camp. Was that ever even going to happen with Hades lurking among the dead? Mason would have to convince his father to let go of everything he wanted to take from Zeus. For Aeons, the Gods have been trying to kill each other. Zeus has to kill his own father after all since he was eating his own children.

"She may have done something that will never be forgiven, but that is a girl who is longing for the love of her mother, and the attention of her father. She cannot control her anger like I can, and Jennova did not help the situation by being who she was to prove herself to Hades. Mason, your sister would have killed you if it meant to have your father favor her over you. She killed our mother, and if I need to get proof!? then I will. But she had the motive. You, are smarter and have better morals. You would never harm an innocent mortal. You even saved Andy from your own father, so I know that you have emotions worthy of others to care for you. I am not asking you to be my friend, I never would, but I ask you as a brother to let this lie. Not for Alex, not for me, but for the good of the camp. I know the both of you are saying all of this out of anger, so I will let it slide."

Although Wes was heading toward the opponents flag, he wasn't going fast. He constantly kept looking from side to side, hoping not to get hit by any long range weapons. Sure, he was on a beast which you'd think would deter a decent amount of people, but that didn't mean it wouldn't be hard to knock him off with an arrow or spear. But at the same time, it wasn't like he particularly had a plan of action once he got close to the flag. It all depended on who was defending... If they were shit fighters, like himself, he potentially stood a chance. If it was Andy, well he was a goner.

Wes heard what he thought was struggling in the distance. He gently tugged on the beast's main, causing it to slow down and come to a halt. He sat more upright, looking around at the woods that surrounded him. Before his mount could begin to growling, he sent soothing feelings through his hand and into her, not enough so that she wouldn't protect him but enough so that she wouldn't give away their location.

While he was scanning the forest in one direction, he didn't hear someone quickly approaching from the other way. It wasn't brought to his attention until his beast quickly spun around, going into a prone position. Her nails dug deep into the dirt as a terrible growl rumble in her chest. Wes' hand went for his spear, but he froze when he saw the all too familiar blonde standing before him. He quickly lowered his hand to the beast, his touch caressing her while sending caring, protective emotions for Trinity into the hound. "It's ok, girl. She's a friend."

“God,” Trinity said with relief. Wes didn't know what she was expecting, but by the look of it, she was proud it was him. She stood their, taking a breather but it didn't last long before another growl was heard near by. Wes' hound quickly shifted into a protective stance, preparing to attack. But his beast nor himself were needed as he sat there in awe watching as Trinity made quick work of the another animal.

“Okay,” she sighed and moved to her feet, while Wes sat there with his jaw dropped. He had seen her spar, and glimpses of her in action. But it seemed everyday she still surprised him, in the best ways. “Let's get this over with.”

Wes was still silent until his gaze fell to the bleeding wound on her arm. He gave his beast a pat before he slid off her back. "Hold on Wonder Woman." He pulled the empty right sleeve that was tucked into his shirt and ripped it off at the seam. Wes held the fabric between his teeth as he took her hand and raised her arm to inspect the wound. He took the sleeve and wrapped it around her arm, then using his hand and teeth he carefully tied it as a makeshift tourniquet. "Better?" he asked while still holding her hand.

Once she was ready, Wes climbed back onto his beast. When he was securely mounted, he held himself in place by gripping the hound's sides with his legs. Wes then extended his hand out toward Trinity, "Let's go get a flag."

Sylas' eyes widened when Andy threw him into the path of the charging beast. Before he could prepared himself, the large creature slammed into him and tossed him into a tree. With a groan, he moved to his hands and knees, coughing as he tried to regain his breath. He looked over to the side, seeing the beast regain itself quickly and charge toward him once again. There was no time for him to get up and run away. Sylas shut his eyes tightly, turning his head away from the approaching beast. But then there was nothing.

He opened his eyes to find the beast curling in on itself as if being controlled by someone else. Sylas stumbled to his feet, using the tree for support. “Now would be the time to use any nifty skills,” a voice called out to him from beyond the beast.

Sylas didn't waste his time trying to figure out who was helping him or what they were. He quickly limped over to the bushes where Andy tossed his sword. With weapon in hand, a grin graced his lips as he raised it into the air. Then in a single swift moment, he plummeted the blade down into the skull of the beast. When the tip hit the dirt, he groaned, twisting it within the creature until it stopped fighting and the last breath was drawn from it.

He took a deep breath before pulling his sword from the beast, wiping the blade off with his sleeve. Sylas slowly limped around the corpse, coming to find the redhead who had helped him. "You're the last person I expected to show up." He slowly walked over to her. "Have any Spartans crossed your path yet?" He wasn't one for making small talk, nor did he particularly care. But, he needed a moment to regain himself before rushing into anything else. And he wasn't keen on crossing paths with Andy again at the current moment, because he had a feeling that she'd be holding a vendetta toward him for quite some time.

"Just let it be a death bed, Ajax and we'll move on." Mason spoke toward Ajax. Then he directed his words toward Alex. "And you, I didn't even tell the whole camp you're a murderous psycho bitch who slaughtered my sister which is the truth." He moved toward Alex, in front of Andy as she stood there silent just watching. "And I haven't lied to anyone. I never claim to be a saint. Never claim to be a victim."

Andy met Mason's gaze when he looked back toward her. "You two can't save anyone. Where's your exes, Ajax?..." The rest of what he said faded off as Andy focused on those words. As much as she didn't want to admit it, have they saved anyone aside from each other? Mason had saved her countless times. He helped her with the minotaur, went back to the underworld for her, used his wish on her... Had Ajax ever saved her?

Her attention was brought back to the present when she saw Alex walk off. She half expect the girl to lash out at Andy after what she said, but instead she just left. Part of her felt bad but not as much as she was tired of this feud and people thinking Mason is a monster for a rational reaction to his sister being murdered. But what happened next, she didn't expect. Ajax looked right at her and said two simple words, "Shut up."

Just those two words made her jaw drop slightly as she stared at him. Everything Ajax began to say toward Mason was white noise in her ears. Andy was over this... all of it. As they were both distracted, she waved her hand before her making herself become invisible. As she faded from sight her colors fell to the ground where she stood. No longer seen, Andy trudged off toward the main hall. She should of gone to the medical hut but she knew who'd be there and wasn't in the mood to deal with her either.

Once Andy reached the main hall, she walked through the doors and went into the kitchen. She grabbed a kitchen towel and made her way over to the fridge. She took a handful of ice and wrapped it in the towel. With a sigh, she made her way back out onto the porch and took a seat with her feet on the step below her. Andy carefully and slowly raised the ice to her nose, wincing at first from the pressure but allowed the cool to numb the pain.

She shifted so that her elbows rested on her knees while she still held the ice to her nose. Andy stared at her feet as everything began to sink in. How could everything at camp go from fine to hell in the matter of 24 hours? She was never the type of person to lash out or get overly emotional... But then here she was, mad at Ajax for things he did and didn't do in the past, regretting her night with him, furious that a single day can't go by where Ajax and Mason don't try to kill each other... And mad at herself. She was a shit girlfriend and a shit friend. Andy could barely stomach to look at her boyfriend's sister for the past year and Mason has done more for her than anyone at camp.

Andy sighed, pulling the ice away from her face to stare down at the blood stained towel. What was happening to her?

Now it was just a waiting game. Sloane perched herself atop a bolder near the base of the tree where the flag resided. She crossed her legs underneath her frame, resting her hands in her lap. She glanced over toward Ji-Hyun as he leaned against a tree and crossed his arms. "Right," he responded to her comment, glancing around at their surroundings. "I think I can take anyone that gets too close, as long as they don't snap me, as I said before. How far can your, ah, illusions reach? Because, if you could plant a few flags around the area, or even a few of those beasts to keep any approaching Trojan occupied for a little while, it could buy us more time. Or you could just mask our flag from their sight. Is that cheating?"

Sloane glanced down at her hands. "Umm... it's stronger the closer I am to someone. If I could sneak up behind them I could give them the illusion of being robbed of their senses, or an invisible beast or something. If they're too far away... I'll just make them get angry and fight their own teammates." She then looked up at the flag, then back down at him with a slight smile. "And yes, I do believe that would be cheating."

Her gaze fell to her twiddling fingers as Ji-Hyun spoke again. "Sorry. I might be accused of not pulling my weight if I didn't try to make this a little harder for the Trojans. So now that's out of the way - how are you? I don't see you socialising much around camp - can't say the same for your brother." Sloane raised her gaze to meet his as he shrugged. "But I have little to complain about, I could say the same for myself. How are you adjusting?"

"How am I?"' Sloane wasn't used to be asked questions like that. Usually no cared. "My brother and I... Are very different," she concluded from his statement, although it wasn't like that was new information. "But, I'm fine. Camp is... different," she admitted to him. "I'll adjust soon enough." Sloane gave a weak attempt at a smile as her fingers twiddled in her lap.

ALEXANDRIA VALIS
DAUGHTER OF ZEUS
TEAM SPARTANS!
Hex: #d63b71

Alex ran as fast as she could, manoeuvred around the few people in her way, and kept going. When she cleared the stairway, she risked a backward glance to see that Mason was, in fact, chasing her. She began to run again. Quickly, she hid behind a building, hoping he'd run by and miss her, but the second she turned around... he was there. He grabbed her by the throat and began to squeeze the life out of her with his bare hands.

She jolted herself awake. The entire room a blur at first, as she slid her right hand up towards the slight pain over her shoulder and felt the material dressing that had been placed there as she kept her eyes on the rectangular ceiling of the hut. It was really more of a large tent than a hut.

"Al,"

With her hand still on the dressing, she turned her head. A strand of her hair slid from her face, and with one blink of her eyes, her gaze was on theirs. She looked pail from the amount of blood she had lost.

"Are you okay?" as she began to sit up, he got up from where he was sitting on the other bed which was an arm's length away and began to steady her with his hands. "Steady" he whispered to her.

Alex winced a little until she was sitting up properly.

"How do you feel?" he fussed.

"I'm fine." she was trying to convince herself more than anything. "Just a little sore is all."

"It's okay to not be tough all the time, you know."
"I said I'm fine."
"I know, but we both know that's not the truth."

Alex huffed air out of both notrils as she slipped her feet into the boots that the nurses had no doubt removed for her so she could get comfy. "I don't want to talk about it right now, okay? I'll speak to you some time." he held her arm, his touch gentle. He furrowed down at her as she looked up at him and stood up.

"I feel like you no longer turn to me anymore. What's happened to you?"
"I grew up..." she told him in a quiet tone before heading out of the hut as Ajax watched her leave.

She stood outside the huts door for a second as she closed her eyes, regretting already about not opening up to him. She carried on walking, heading to the hall where everyone else would be. Ajax ended up there too once Alex sat in the corner of the hall, her eyes glancing around at those who had failed the game.

"From what? It was just a scratch," Trinity responded once Wes had finished addressing her wound. The makeshift bandage wasn’t perfect or pretty, but it did the job. Sure, it wasn’t a deadly wound or anything like that. But, that didn’t mean Wes enjoyed seeing her bleed. He usually wasn’t much help, more of a hinderance, but at least this was something he could help with. Small, but it was something.

After he had mounted his beast and offered his blonde partner in crime his hand, Trinity stared between him and the hound. “I…” Wes’ brows furrowed as she seemed to be apprehensive. "I don't think that's a good idea. I've got like....its cousin's blood on me," she muttered.

Wes sighed, rolling his eyes in a teasing manner. When Trinity called the beast an it a gentle growl rumbled in the hound’s throat. "She," he corrected, then held up his index finger. "Hold up, It was you who told me to use my abilities, blondie… And now that I have…" Wes’ voiced trailed off as he let his hand fall to the beast’s neck, petting it softly. There was no winning with Trinity.

"I promise I'll be beh-" Trinity started before the sound of something off in the distance cut her off. Wes’ beast dug her claws into the dirt, lowering her body toward the ground ready to pounce. She growled, sniffing and scanning the tree line around them. "I'll catch up," she said toward him in a hushed tone. Before Wes could reply she was off investigating the noise.

The little voice in Wes’ head said something along the lines of ’Go, Wes. She can take care of herself and your one-armed self will just get in the way.’ But did he listen to that? Nope. But instead of following after her, he held his ground. He figured either someone as clumsy as himself was trying to run from him and his beast… Well, mostly the beast, Wes wasn’t much of a threat. Or it was a diversion to distract or separate them.

After a few moments of weighing his options, Wes opted to hold his ground where he was. It’d be easiest for Trinity to find him. And, he didn’t want to piss her off by following her… orrrrr go too far away so that he was unable to help if needed. He adjusted himself on top of the beast, then reached over his back and grabbed his spear. As he readied himself, Wes felt his beast stir beneath him. Even if he wanted to follow after Trin, the creature didn’t. Something about her wanted to stay right where they were… That wasn’t good.

Evelyn’s eyes narrowed at his comment, no doubt she wasn’t thrilled at the first words to come out of Sylas’ mouth. But did he care? Part of it was out of pride. It was below him to thank anyone, especially a woman, for helping him. Did he ask for help? No. If he died? Well, so be it. But, he wouldn’t have died.

"I’m going to translate that to thank you."

Ah, she was smarter than she looked. There was no way the words would cross his lips and Evelyn didn’t seem like she expected it either. He walked in step with her deciding it’d probably be better if they stayed grouped up, at least for the time being. But his steps were slow as the pain in his leg flared whenever he put weight on it. Sylas wasn’t in a rush to go chasing after the flag. He was in the game for the blood and battle, not glory. Glory is for the weak who need reassurance.

"No. Things have been quiet for me," she replied to his question. It wasn’t surprising. It’s not like they were all guaranteed to have run ins with the other team or beasts. Plus, large groups attracted more attention… Look at Ajax, Alex, Mason and Andy. Case and point.

"So in future, for you to avoid disappointment again, do I let you become a beast's chew toy?"

Sylas quirked a brow, turning his head toward her slightly. For some reason, whenever people seemed unafraid or not effected by a glimpse at his true self, he always became intrigued. "I do prefer my head attached to my shoulders," he first replied with a slight sarcastic tone. Then after a moment, he let his eyes look forward while he took on a more serious tone. "I wouldn’t blame you… or hold some grudge if you left me to die."

He glanced over at her briefly then continued. "Everyone at this camp is so worried about being a hero. Save a life. Do the heroic thing. No matter the consequences… Sometimes the braver thing to do is to not be a hero. What’s the point if it’d get yourself killed in the process?"

Sylas shrugged his shoulders. It was the raw truth. Heroes are dangerous… Some people are beyond saving. Helping them would only get yourself killed in the process. Call it selfish, but selflessness is weakness. Heroes can’t make a difference when they are dead. "The drowning man will always drag someone down with him."

Andy sat on the steps to the main hall until the ice in her rag melted, dripping blood stained water down her forearm as she held it to her face. It was surprising. She expected to see more campers eliminated, doing their walk of shame to the hall. But she only saw a few stragglers. At least no one tried to talk to her. She was grateful for that… But at the same time, she would have been happy with someone distracting her.

When her nose had long stopped bleeding and the coolness of the rag turned lukewarm, Andy finally stood. She slowly ascended the stairs and went back into the hall. She froze for a minute in the doorway when her gaze met Ajax’s. Then not a moment after they met, Andy’s head fell with her eyes locked on her feet as she beelined for the kitchen.

She tried her best to rinse the blood from the rag, but once she realized it was a lost cause, Andy just tossed it into the trash. With a sigh she looked up into the mirror. It could have been worst… Definitely could have been better but Andy still looked like Andy. The bridge of her nose was swollen and covered in a field of purple and blue that branched out beneath her eyes. But it wasn’t crooked, which luckily meant it wouldn’t need to be re-broken. It was just ugly. She could live with ugly.

Andy had half a mind to leave the hall and spend the remainder of the day in her cabin. She was prideful, and didn’t feel like dealing with anyone. But the part of her that wanted the comfort of a friend outweighed her stubbornness and pride. With a sigh, she weaved her way through the tables, her feet subconsciously carrying her over toward Mason’s table.

She slowly moved herself into the seat beside Mason. Andy didn’t say anything or even look over to meet his gaze. After a long moment of silence, she let herself lean against him, resting her head on his shoulder. "… Your new friend fucked up my face," Andy finally said, barely louder than a whisper. It wasn’t much, but it broke the silence.

"You do know you're allowed to create experiences apart from your brother?” Ji-hyun said gently. The comment took Sloane a little by surprise, causing her brows to furrow slightly. "You're allowed to be your own person, even while you're with him. Especially when you're with him."

He then paused briefly. Maybe it was to check her reaction, but Sloane didn’t say anything. She remained silent, just looking toward Ji-hyun as he finished. "Anyway, I'm just speaking from personal experience. I have an older brother - for the first decade of my life I wanted to be just like him, wanted to do everything he did, until I got down to figuring out who I was when he wasn't around. I know a little about getting your identity mixed up with your sibling’s.

"Just my two cents."

"I don’t want to be anything like my brother," Sloane snapped, nearly talking over him. The moment after the words left her lips she winced, instantly wanting to take it back and regretting her tone with Ji-hyun. She didn’t mean to be rude, but being compared to her brother turned her stomach… And terrified her. Her gaze fell her to her hands while her voiced grew quiet. "…Sorry."

Sloane was silent for a long moment. She knew Ji-hyun was only trying to help. From what she could tell he seemed like the kind of person who never tried to put a toe out of order… The type that couldn’t harm a fly. She sighed softly. "It’s complicated…" She chewed on her lip while tapping her finger tips on her leg. "But I’m not like my brother." That’s all she could say. Sloane always had to be careful with her words, especially where her brother was concerned. Not only for her own safety but for others as well. It was best no one knew the truth… This facade Sylas created hid his true monster, and if that mask kept it at bay then she’d prefer it remained.

ALEXANDRIA VALIS
DAUGHTER OF ZEUS
TEAM SPARTANS!
Hex: #d63b71

No longer wanting to remain in the same room as Mason or Andy, Alex headed outside and made her way to towards her cabin, passing the temple where it allowed the Demigods to worship their Gods. Alex stopped, changing her direction towards that temple.

As she stepped up to the statue that represented her father, she closed her eyes and hung her head down. Silence. Everything around her became nothing but white noise. From a daughter to her father she desperately wanted to be close to, her words would be spoken on the winds until they found their way to him.

"Why didn't you save her?" the faith she had for her father was beginning to weaken. Maybe her big brother was right after all. Yes, he was there to help them last year, but that wasn't going to make her forgive him. She has always loved him, always honoured him and defended him against others, but still, she could not forgive him about her mother. "It is so hard for me to not love you. She trusted you and you let her down. You allowed her to die. Did she not mean anything to you? did you use her?" The clouds above began to darken, the wind picking up from Alex's emotions influencing them. She felt like decapitating the statue.

She really believed that the new Gods were much better than the old. Especially Zeus. He never wanted anyone to undermine him or to go against his laws, or his will for righteousness.... but where was he for a mortal?

"She was finally happy and you just couldn't stand by and watch her live her life without you." She gripped the hilt of her sword tightly in her right hand. Thunder rumbled deeply across the sky.

AJAX VALIS
SON OF ZEUS
TEAM TROJANS!

Ajax watched as Andy went and sat by Mason, then placed her head on his shoulder. He didn't blame her for not wanting to be close to him, but seeing her near Mason instead made him feel...jealous. He turned his back on them, busying himself by tucking in a couple of left out chairs. He tightened his hands around the back of the last chair before taking a seat in it, still keeping his back to Andy and Mason.

The entire game of capture the flag was still going on outside and as his little sister left the hall, he remained where he was. Lately, all she ever wanted was to be alone, unless it was the other men in her life that didn't bug her or fuss around her so much.

He ran a hand through his dark hair and looked towards Andy.

He couldn't blame her for defending someone she cared about, but just the words that she had projected at Alex just didn't sit right with him. He hadn't forgotten what Alex did to Mason's sister, but hating her or disowning her for it was out of the question even if that was the decent thing to do in most eyes. He didn't want to give up on her because he had faith that she had a good reason to know that it was Jennova who killed their mother. Still, Ajax could relate to a brother still mourning over the death of his sister.

He stood up and hesitated to head over there. He wanted to talk to Mason mostly, but headed in the other direction. Instead, he stood outside the hall's door to wait for the others to fall out of the game.

Wes was hesitant to do anything at that moment, his hand gripping tight to the spear. Trinity was off on her own following some sound, while he held his ground. This didn't look bad or anything. He turned his attention in the direction of where the blonde wondered. For a good while he didn't see her, but then something zipped by. He caught only glimpses of movement between Trinity and someone else. And before he could join to help her, Harleen finally came into focus, holding Trin's blue band.

"Shit," Wes cursed under his breath. He was on his own now and wasn't going to stick around for her to get the jump on him as well. "To the flag," he whispered to the beast as he gave her a quick nudge in her sides with his heels. He quickly slid his spear between his back and shield, freeing up his hand to hold tight to the animal's mane. It was probably stupid... No, undoubtedly stupid. But he figured if he was going to get knocked out, he'd rather it be going for the flag than sitting on his hands... hand.

"That's exactly my point, Sloane. I know you're not." And Ji-Hyun left it at that. It was rare for people not to pry into the meaning behind Sloane's words. Instead he took them for what they were, allowing her to continue or remain silent if she wanted. She appreciated that.

"Thanks," was all she could manage to say. It wasn't much, but it was something. No one has ever really told her she was her own person. Yes, she knew that, but hearing someone else say it... Now that was a first. Her mother was always telling her she could be great, better than Sylas ever hoped to be, but she didn't want that either. Sloane just wanted a chance to be Sloane. Without Sylas or Eris breathing down her neck.

Her attention was quickly drawn to the sky when a loud rumble shudder her being. It hadn't really sunken in yet, the fact that she was surrounded by so many people with a vast array of powers and abilities. But what once was a sunny day quickly faded to a dark, heavy overcast threatening at any moment to open up a deluge on their heads.

"Well, pains me to say this, but we've got work to do. May I enhance your perception a little? And I don't suppose you know your way around a weapon?" Ji-hyun stretched his hand out toward her as he spoke.

Sloane took his hand and slid down from the rock she sat upon, now standing beside her teammate. "Uh, sure... And no, I don't. That's Sylas' area of expertise." Still, she took the shield in her left hand, while her right held the dagger. Maybe she would be lucky. "My powers are more offensive... I don't think it would be wise to invoke violence or chaos on incoming opponents. It'd might turn against our favor quickly." The thought hadn't crossed her mind until that moment. The Spartans didn't leave behind a fighter to help them defend. Ji-hyun could knock them out maybe, but making someone chaotic or violent wouldn't help their already poor predicament. The odds were stacking against them quickly. And as if the skies knew this, the clouds opened up and rain poured down heavily from the heavens, masking any sounds of oncoming opponents.

The sky opened up, quickly drenching Wes and his beast. Although he wasn't a fan, his new friend seemed unfazed, continuing to sprint through the woods with haste. If Ajax was already there, then maybe it'd be a good enough distraction for Wes to get the flag... Or he could always be the distraction while Ajax got it. Or... it could just be rain. That's a thing too.

In no time he was there, just beyond the tree line of where the Spartans' flag would be. To his surprise there were only two people there left to defend it. Ji-hyun and Sloane. They both looked about as capable as himself when it came to combat, so if anything this was going to be a battle of wits. Wes had to fight the urge to laugh. Like he had wits. His gaze skimmed the surrounding area until he saw the red flag hanging high up in a tree. Gods did he wish he could fly. Rain plus tree climbing plus one arm... That didn't sound like a recipe for disaster or anything.

After preparing himself for what was to come, Wes decided to take the opportunity of surprise and use it to his advantage. First he took the spear from his back. Since he lost his right arm, he had been practicing with his left daily. He wasn't a marksman, but as long as he could get them to look one way, then he'd call it a success. He winded back his arm, then through the spear near the pair of defenders, but on the opposite side to get their attention to focus elsewhere than the flag.

Sloane just barely saw the spear flying through the air. She pushed Ji-hyun out of the way just before the weapon lodged itself in the ground at their feet. She quickly brushed back her water soaked hair from her face, as she scanned the surrounding tree line. Then out of on where, a large beast burst through the trees, leaping toward them. Sloane stumbled backwards, falling to the ground. The giant animal stood before the two of them, standing her ground, digging her claws deep into the mud.

As his beast distracted them, Wes ran around the perimeter getting as close to the tree as he could before coming out into view. Part of him was worried about the fate of his new friend. He could only hope he ascends the tree fast enough for Ji-hyun and Sloane to not be able to get a drop on the beast. He'd hate for her to die because of him. But Wes didn't have the time to worry about it. He sprinted out into the clearing, straight for the tree. As quickly as he could manage, he began to climb. The rain didn't help his struggle, but he ignored everything else and focused on the climb.

Sloane extended her hands before her trying to remain calm for the large animal. For a brief moment she caught sight of something. She looked over toward the tree and saw someone halfway up toward the flag. "Try to put it to sleep!" she called back to Ji-hyun as she was already running toward the tree. Luckily, once under the branches it cut back a lot of the rain so that she was able to look up to see where the opponent was. After a moment, she was able to make out Wes clumsily climbing, his feet slipping every few placements. With no time to waste, she quickly began climbing up behind him.

Wes found himself cursing nearly ever step he took. If his foot didn't slip, his grip did. But he was determined and kept climbing. He was nearly to the top when he felt something grab his ankle. He looked down seeing Sloane's small handing holding tight to his foot. He froze for a moment, not knowing what to do. He didn't want to risk kicking her and making the girl fall and get injured. But he didn't have another free hand to break her grasp. Instead he opted for the harder route, Wes hooked his left arm around an upper branch and with all his might he hoisted himself up.

It took all the strength in him to lift himself and the girl beneath him, but finally her grasp slipped do to the rain. Once Wes was free he took the advantage and climbed up the rest of the way as fast as he could. Sloane was just about to reach him again when he reached out and snagged the Spartans' flag. When he had the soggy piece of fabric in his grasp, he froze in slight shock then looked down at Sloane who stopped her pursuit to look up at him. "I have the flag?" he said in more of disbelief than celebration. Then he stood up on the branch and waved the flag. "I HAVE THE FLAG! TROJANS WIN!!"

After a well deserved minute of waving the flag, he looked down at the branches below him. "Shit. Now how am I getting down?"

“You mean to say the strong will sacrifice themselves for the weak? We all die one day, I guess the matter is how we want to be remembered or leave a mark on the world. And sometimes that happens to be nobly or heroically, or the opposite.” Evelyn gestured toward him obviously meaning him to be the representation of the opposite. She could think whatever she wanted, good or bad. He could tell from the moment he met her that she could see through to the truth in each person. Sylas didn't care. If people were smart enough to see to his true nature then by all means. If not, then whatever he did to them they deserved.

“Heroics and bravery could be due to the fact that most demigods have lost that sense of self preservation. We've all come from that world where we were the strong and had power among mortals so it was... obligation to protect those in need. If those instincts continue camp will be a harmonious place knowing one has the other's back...at the expense of some trauma."

Sylas' brows quirked at the notion. "Not all of us. But I suppose I can see your point." He wouldn't deny that he agreed with her conclusion as to why most of the people at camp acted the way they did. He noticed that almost instantly when he came to camp. There was such a lack of self preservation that it made for an interesting course of action when trying to weave his vines. A healthy challenge in his opinion. Everyone was so eager to put their lives on the line for others, that only a master puppeteer could pull the right strings to work in their favor.

“But you, Sylas, I do wonder how far you'll go.” He chuckled slightly as he continued walking in step with her. Step by step his limp was slowly wearing off. He had hardly noticed when the rain started. It never really bothered him anyway. But it'd definitely make for a bigger challenge in this particular exercise when you can't hear people approaching or get proper footing.

Sylas parted his lips to reply but as he did so an airhorn signaling the end of the game sounded throughout the playing arena. He then stopped and looked over at the red head. "I guess you'll just have to wait to find out." He changed his path to aim toward the main hall. As the distance between himself and Evelyn grew, he nodded his head back toward her. "You're a formidable teammate. I wouldn't mind working with you again sometime." He smirked and then continued onward.

Sylas could only imagine how much Evelyn would hate the idea of working with him again, but the thought of the knot growing in her stomach at his poor excuse of a compliment excited him. He loved ruffling feathers but better yet when it caused a wave of confusion between being flattered, confused or insulted. If only he had more time to cause more mischief during capture the flag. But the summer was young and his time at the camp had just begun.

"You're the one that told me to make friends, I can't help the quality of them. My options are pretty limited."

Andy gave a weak chuckle at his comment. "Maybe you just have bad taste in friends," she added quietly, meaning herself as much as Sylas. No doubt she's felt a growing weight on her shoulders and part of that lied heavily with her lack in being a good friend. From her side, she didn't seem to be making Mason's life any easier... Probably just more difficult. Maybe it would be better for him if she backed off and didn't constantly put herself in the middle of a feud that was never going to end. But she couldn't bring herself to do that.

"Your face will heal," Mason continued quietly. "And you'll be Mrs. Athens again in no time."

She stiffened slightly at his last comment. Andy didn't look up at him, but her voice was firm yet gentle. "Don't do that, Mason... I'm not Mrs. Athens. I'm Andy... Just Andy," her voice trailed off.

As she sat there with Mason, she gently hooked her arm in his, sighing softly. Andy was exhausted... From everything. In that brief silence she felt a heavy gaze on her. She was tempted not to look up, to ignore the feeling of someone's stare drilling through her, but eventually she looked up. She met Ajax's gaze for only a moment, but quickly looked back down at her hands.

She raised her hand to gently poke at her swollen nose as Mason cleared his throat to speak. "So, thank you, for doing what you did in the woods. I know it wasn't for me and maybe I shouldn't even be thanking you but...I'm glad you were there. Hardly anyone speaks against her and him so...good of you to speak your mind, I guess."

Andy focused on his words, almost completely missing his comment about the party the night before and the girl he claimed was hot. To each his own, she supposed. A woman like that looked like a walking heart break but it wasn't her place. She didn't make the best choices in companions at the current moment either. Maybe that was their lot in life.

"It was for you... And me," Andy spoke up in late response to his thanks. She was going to leave it at that, but she was too tired to hold back anything, especially from Mason. "I hate the way she looks at you. Like you're some kind of monster. She judges you and doesn't even know you." Andy kept her voice low so only he could hear, but there was a sharp bite to it. "She's the monster. I saw it... the rage in her eyes. No one cares that I was there, what I saw or what I did. They all forgive her like it never happened. While I had to sit there with this... Burden. That I wasn't fast enough to save Jennova. That I couldn't call you and tell you the moment it happened. I carried her body... I buried her."

She closed her eyes, taking a deep breath. "Those images haunt my dreams. Jennova, the Underworld... Daniel," her voice cracked quietly at the mention of her brother's name. "Everyone expects me to be strong all the time. To forgive and forget... But I can't." For so long Andy has bottled everything up. But since camp has started again she's been unraveling. She never was the type to say her feelings, instead being strong for everyone else, not herself. She felt like she was falling apart piece by piece and she couldn't hold it in anymore.

The silence was broken when Mason spoke up. "You can go talk to him if you want. I mean... I would like you to at least wait for him to apologize but I wont mind."

Andy smiled weakly at the end of his comment. "I don't want to talk to him..." At this point, she couldn't care less if Ajax apologized or not. It sounded so foreign coming out of his mouth, especially directed toward her. For two words that were so simple, it carried a lot of weight. They're supposed to be equals in a relationship, but she always felt two steps behind. That she was constantly having to forgive what he has done. Then the one time Andy does something he doesn't agree with, he scolds her like a child. She didn't feel like his equal and if anything that supported the thought.

END OF THE TITANS REIGN

The skies rumbled as Zeus remained seated in his golden throne, his right hand stroking his chin in thought. He could sense his daughter's anger, pain, and his son's troubles of being the man that the others expected him to be. If only his children knew what he had sacrificed for them. He didn't want to leave their mother, but to keep her safe, he had no choice.

Before the Olympian Gods had built Camp Athens and before the Titans creation, the very first God, Uranus, had created the entire universe which had been crafted from his own flesh and blood. He created others like him and had many children. Uranus wanted others to praise their powers and worship them as Gods. He wanted weaker beings to look up to them as protectors and providers of their very lives.

After the mortals were created and given a home, Uranus became fascinated by how they evolved over time. They were intelligent, happy, and loving to each other. Proud of his creations, his son Cronus grew jealous and wanted everything for himself. So, as soon as the time was right, he waited until the other Titans were fast asleep before he threw Uranus off the highest peak of the cosmos, sending him into the abyss. Cronus quickly became the new King and threatened to send all Titans to join his father if they did not bow before him. Every one of them did out of fear, for Cronus was the first Titan that Uranus had regrettably created.

The world had grown dark, splitting mortals between good and evil. Cronus enjoyed the countless of murders that the mortals inflicted upon their own kind. It was entertainment at its finest for him. He took many wives, but there was only ever one which he truly cared for and loved. She was the mother of Zeus. Every night she would sing to her boy, telling him stories of his ancestors and how they became to be. Sadly, their happiness wasn't able to last.

Her angered husband was looking for all of his children since the fates had warned him of a prophecy, a prophecy of which his children would become the new Gods, and destroy him. Cronus began to eat every one of his children, but Zeus' mother was the Goddess who had been the one to trick her husband into swallowing large rocks after hiding her son on Earth among the mortals.

More years went by, and it almost seemed as though the Titans and Gods had died out since hardly anyone worshipped them anymore. They believed their Gods did not care for them, so they gave up hope. Cronus became angry once more, and as he planned to wage war on the ungrateful mortals, Zeus had learned about who he was and what his father had done. His revenge was to save his brothers, and together they would destroy Cronus and all who still followed him.

During his time with the mortals, Zeus had met Susanna, a beautiful woman which had stolen his heart the second he lay his eyes upon her. They had their first child, Ajax, but Zeus could not stay. Cronus would soon find his son and if he knew about their half-mortal child, he would kill the baby and the mortal who had birthed it. Susanna never knew she had fallen in love with a God, and Zeus made sure he kept it that way before leaving her to keep her safe.

He went back to his homeland, to Greece, and saved his brothers and other Gods who were willing to follow Zeus to battle against Cronus. He had found out about the half-bred child that Zeus had been raising, and stormed through the golden gates with other titans behind him. The heavens shook as a war began between both sides until it came to an end.

Zeus and the Olympians had won. They had trapped Cronus and the Titans in the fiery depths of Tartarus.

He hadn't noticed that Andy had seen him, not that it mattered to her at this point anyway since she was hanging out with her second boyfriend. "My go-to guess would be Trinity but she was on our side, so who got the jump on you?" the mention of the feisty blonde hadn't broken him from the daze he was in. Even though he was there in person with his best friend, his mind seemed miles away from this world almost. As Duke came closer, Duke’s smile slowly faded. No doubt he had realized that Ajax wasn't completely himself. Without powers, Ajax felt like he was nothing but an empty shell.

He stood by Ajax, no doubt waiting for words, a grunt, or anything else to indicate where his head was, but the silence spoke for itself. Ajax felt Duke's hand on his shoulder before he left Ajax to himself. He felt like a bad friend, a bad boyfriend, and a bad brother. He turned around, parted his lips to call Duke back, but the words never left his mouth. Duke had gone inside of the hall to avoid the storm which had covered the camp. What he wanted to tell Duke would now have to wait. He headed to his cabin and found Alex there, leaning over the table before she slowly straightened up to look at him. She was still covered in blood and dirt.

"Are you okay?" his voice deep, yet gentle as he approached her.

Alex wasn't sure how to answer that question, but it was obvious she wasn't her usual happy self. In fact, she was tired of him treating her like a child, like she needed protection all the time. This entire camp didn't need her, and selected view that she did care about seemed to keep their distance from her lately. Maybe Mason and Andy had been filling their heads with nonsense. It was clear those two wanted her death as vengeance for Jennova, but what about the vengeance for her mother's death? Alex steadily rose to her feet, her fingertips remain touching the wooden table with her eyes on her brother. "I'm leaving." She decided. Her gaze fell to the table for a moment as the look of horror hit her brother's face.

"You can't leave. You know how--"

"dangerous it is?" she finished for him. "I can handle myself. I need to get away. I'll be back once I have found myself again." she began to pack her rucksack.

"Al, listen to me." but she ignores him. "Al, you just...fine." he had to let her do this. He didn't want her to resent or hate him, hell, he didn't want her to leave but if this is what she needed then he would just have to step aside and prepare for the worst. As she headed out with her rucksack, Ajax watched from the doorway, his brows furrowing as he folded his arms, fighting back the urge to chases after her.

When Andy mentioned Jennova, Mason went ridged. He pulled himself from her, leaving her sitting there stiff... Just staring at her hands as they rested in her lap. She hated how he was blew hot and cold, it gave her whiplash. With him pulled from her, she scooted herself apart from him slightly with a sigh. "...I lost a sibling too, Mason," she said, barely louder than a whisper.

Then there was silence. Not that she was surprised. Maybe that's why Andy so rarely opened up anymore. People just looked at her like she was mad. Mason and herself had both been through a lot and more than anything, she just needed someone she could... be herself around, where she didn't have to pretend like she was ok all the time. She hoped that Mason would understand compared to the others.

"How'd you survive without me?"

Andy turned her head slightly toward Mason. Her expression was peaceful, like a sad sort of acceptance. "I didn't." She had long accepted that she wasn't the same girl from last year. Everything had changed... including herself. She was a ghost of her former self and surprisingly no one noticed.

“Hi guys,” Trinity said from across the table. Andy didn't even notice her approach, but a genuine smile came to her lips when she saw her. It's been so busy at camp as of late that she hardly had time to spend with Trin. Andy was thankful for her arrival. She wouldn't admit it, but she was scared what way that conversation could have turned. Not that Mason was much of a Let's talk about your feelings type of guy. “Sorry for interrupting but um...”

"You're always welcome," Andy said while motioning for Trinity to take a seat.

Something seemed to be bothering Trinity and the longer she was quiet, the more Andy grew uneasy. “I think your brother's here.” The words rang through Andy's mind like an alarm as she sat there unmoving. Before she could fathom to put together words Trinity continued. “I- I don't know if it's a spell or ghost form...”

Andy finally inhaled a sharp breath like she was gasping for air after nearly drowning. Her hands started to tremble as they rested on the table while her gaze was blank. "I—I—I don't understand... Where is he!? Why didn't he come see me!?" She quickly went from a daze to full on panic. Her thoughts flooded from her lips the second they hit her mind. Was he alive? Could he be? Why didn't Hecate tell her? Why didn't he come see her?

Everything began to spin as Andy grew lightheaded from the overwhelming news. It was like everything she had been dealing with for the past year had finally boiled over. Her right hand reached out for Mason as her vision went blurry. Before she could find him her eyes rolled back in her head as she feinted, her body tipping backwards off the bench.

Sloane had tried to hold onto Wes the best she could but with the rain her grasp was slipping. She had underestimated his own strength until he lifted her along with him until her hold broke. She floundered as she fell a couple feet. But luckily her feet found a limb beneath her while her hands grasped at the slippery tree trunk. By the time she had her bearings and even contemplated going up after him again. He had the flag.

Honestly, she was just happy for this whole thing to be over. Sloane tried her best and thankfully her brother wasn't there to see her fail. Although they were on opposite teams, he wouldn't like seeing her disgrace the family name with her inability to stop Wes.

She caught her breath where she stood in the tree before looking back up to the victor. Sloane brushed wet locks of hair from her face as she extended a hand up toward Wes. "Here, let me help you."

It took sometime but eventually the two of them awkwardly made their way back down the tree. "Thanks, Wes said once his feet were firmly on the ground. At the bottom of the tree Ji-hyun waited, while Wes' hound was recalled back into the woods at the final horn of the game.

"Good game you guys. I didn't hurt you, did I?" Wes asked Sloane as he ran a hand back through his wet hair.

"I'm good," Sloane responded with the best smile she could manage and a thumbs up. She didn't care that she lost. She just wanted to go back to her cabin and get into dry clothes more than anything. Physical activities were definitely not her forte.

We smiled toward the both of them, while offering them his fist in a friendly bump. "I'll see you all back at the main hall."

With the flag in hand, Wes took off in a jog through the rain back toward the main hall. His mind was still buzzing with the fact that he... out of everyone, had captured the flag. Even with the proof he doubted anyone would believe him.

He finally reached the main hall after many tumbles in the muck and mud on his way there. Wes trudged his way in through the door and shook his head, trying to get some of the water off. His eyes glanced around at the faces that sat around waiting for the results, but his smile faded slightly when there was no sign of Alex. He sighed slightly, hoping that he could figure out where she was but instead weaved his way through the tables toward a far one which held Mason, Andy and Trinity.

As he approached the table, Wes held the flag getting ready to toss it on the table like a football and do his touchdown dance. But he froze behind Trinity when he saw Andy's face and heard her babbling questions. "You told her?" he asked Trinity. It wasn't in an accusatory manor. She needed to be told and honestly hearing it from Trinity was better than her stumbling upon it on her own. No matter what the circumstances were that Andy found out, his heart ached for her.

He went to reach out his hand toward her, hoping to ease her emotions so that she could think clearly. But his hand was barely raised when she fell backward off her seat. "Andy!?"

Alex couldn't leave without saying goodbye to her friend and Duke, so she headed back to the hall hoping that they would still be there. She could hear the others chatting and laughing inside which made her feel more distant from herself. She used to laugh and smile just the same, but now every vibrant colour of her soul seemed to have been drained from her body entirely. She felt like something was eating away at her, something that she couldn't remember but needed to remember.

She headed inside, her right hand clutching her bags handle that hung over her right shoulder. Standing by the door, she placed her rucksack down onto a table next to her. The game had obviously ended but not everyone was back yet.

Alex took a seat, sitting on the edge of it as she took a deep breath and then turned her head toward the back of the hall. Duke sat on his own with a fruit in hand.

With her eyes still on him, she reached for her rucksack, curling her fingers tightly into the deep green material at the top of it before she stood up and began to walk over to him. There was no point in lying about anything since he and the others would find out anyway. Ajax always turned to Duke. "Duke..." her voice soft. "I...I'm leaving camp for a little while. I wanted to say goodbye to you and Wes first. You need an explanation, and the only one that I can give right now is that I need to clear my mind, and to find who I am again... then I'll come back." she promised. She couldn't leave this place for good. There were people she cared about even if they didn't care about her.

She wasn't sure how he'd react to what she had just told him, but her mind was made up. She would stay in a motel for tonight, then head to her hometown and revisit some old friends and whatever else she could find to do while there. Just nothing reckless.

Ajax headed back inside and poured himself a fresh mug of coffee from the machine. He stood there in his own world as his eyes rested on the table where is sister sat. "No." he said, shaking his head before he left the house. There was no way he was going allow her to just head out there without anyone being with her. He understood she wanted to be alone, but what if Hades finds her? maybe Andy could put some spell on her, keep his sister hidden from those who wanted to harm her, but at this point, why would she want to help him? yes, they were together still, but the way he spoke to her to defend his little sister had caused a wedge between them, causing his girlfriend to turn to her best friend for comfort and support. Daniel was the only other option.

Hopefully, Alex hadn't left yet. Knowing her she would want to say goodbye to Duke and Wes first which would maybe bind him some time. Ajax quickly ran around the camp in search for Daniel, right up until he found him with Evelyn. He hated interrupting, but this was important to him. "Daniel," he said, not knowing that Keith wouldn't know that name. "I'm sorry for interrupting anything if I did, but this is urgent." he promised. "Is there anything any of you can do, like some kind of spell to protect and hide Alex while she's outside of camp? she's leaving for a little while, and I won't rest unless I know she's safe. Please, I'm begging you." begging wasn't something Ajax did often, but he was doing it now. "I will do anything. I will wash your dishes or something." he half laughed.

Image Trinity and Wesley agreed on one major problem: Daniel wasn't totally Daniel. The guy made a scene wherever he pranced off to and that was exactly what Mason feared. So not only did Andy have this resurrected brother that hadn't seen her yet, but he'd be someone different like a doppelgänger or shell when she'd see him. Hopefully Mason just met him first. He closed his eyes to gather his strength and courage to be able to comfort Andy.

Heading back to her room, Mason quickly missed the reinforcement of Wesley and Trinity when he saw how Andy was. Mason slowly approached and sat on the edge of her bed and wrapped his arms around her. "This could be a good thing," he heard himself tell her softly even when he believed the complete opposite. It'd probably be more like torment but right now it seemed like the girl needed hope. "At least he's here." But the both of them knew there were fates worse than death. Like having a soul removed, being tortured and near broken, tormented by ghosts of your loved ones.

He sighed out and drew away from Andy to meet her eyes. No more bullshit, she deserved better. "I never saw Daniel in the Underworld. Hades kept me pretty busy but from what I saw...not in our domain anyway," he shook his head. "I'm so sorry, and I know that doesn't change anything but I am. I wanted to tell you sooner but you just looked like you were getting happy again and I couldn't ruin that for you."

Mason wanted to comfort her but for the life of him he didn't know how or what better news was on the horizon for her. "I’m gonna be here for you this time. No matter what. You got a whole support system at camp.” The son of Zeus, son of Hades, daughter of Ares who'd all try their hardest to protect Andy and pick her up when she was down.

"If you want to see him, when you're ready, we could search for him together. There's no rush," he told her gently.

"Daniel," Ajax called.
Keith glanced over his shoulder for a moment before engaging in eye contact with the son of Zeus. Apparently he meant him.
"I'm sorry for interrupting anything if I did, but this is urgent." Keith expected as much, seeing as they didn't cross hairs that much and the way Ajax headed towards them. But what news did he bring? Keith entwined his hands behind his back, listening patiently. "Is there anything any of you can do, like some kind of spell to protect and hide Alex while she's outside of camp? she's leaving for a little while, and I won't rest unless I know she's safe. Please, I'm begging you."
Keith rose his brow quizzically. "I'm sorry?" He turned on his heel to look at Evelyn then twisted back to Ajax.
"I will do anything. I will wash your dishes or something."
Keith's head jerked back. He never thought he'd see the day or prank Ajax offered to be a slave. When it came to Alex though, it most likely wasn't a joke. So as to prevent igniting the wrath of Zeus, Keith cleared his throat. "It's not that I don't want to help you, Ajax. It's more the fact that I..." he shifted uncomfortably and shot a nervous glance between his company then rested his gaze on the ground.

Before he could finish, Evelyn cut in unbeknownst to her that she was sparing him from more humiliation. “I might be able to bless a possession of hers, as long as it's always on her being. What is it she needs protection from?”

Keith's brows shot up. It wasn't forbidden to ask Ajax questions but he thought it might have been - fair and a good question, completely, but a little brash. "If you want this done right, it's better to know what we're hiding her from," Evelyn justified. Keith found himself nodding along. The perfect question followed by the perfect explanation. Hitting that nail on the head.

He cleared his throat. "We can always try," he finally answered and shrugged. It was Ajax's call if he wanted to follow through with it or not. Well technically it was Alex's since the charm or cast was going towards her and everyone knew she could be a firecracker but Ajax was the scarier sibling and Keith didn't fancy letting the camp suffer severe storms until Alex came back. "Hey..um, ha- has Alex consented to this or..?"

Image

"Duke..." Alex called to him softly. Initially he turned to her with a ready smile and some taunting on the game but something in her expression made him stop before it could even begin. "I...I'm leaving camp for a little while. I wanted to say goodbye to you and Wes first. You need an explanation, and the only one that I can give right now is that I need to clear my mind, and to find who I am again... then I'll come back."

ImageFor a smart man, her plan seemed to render him dumb and speechless. Especially when it was relatively straight-forward. "I uh...I don't know what to say," he admitted. He didn't want her questioning her decision and self further but he was never one to hold back on his voice. "Alex, you're young and extremely powerful and...cursed with the temper of Zeus, you made a mistake. It was a big one and costly, but it was a mistake. You can find yourself here. Stressful environments is sometimes where we find out the most about ourselves."

Duke understood her desire for meditation and to get away from camp and if she wanted that break, she'd get it. There'd be no stopping her. And Duke wasn't trying to stop her, merely pointing out that she didn't have to escape. He could guess a large part of her desire to clear her mind and find herself was related to the death of Hades daughter and it wasn't something she could run from or reset. Just learn to live with it...and that was the reality.

After a moment of staring at her and helplessly hoping she got the revelation and inner peace she needed, he continued, "Thank you for telling me. I appreciate it." Because the alternative was she would be gone without a trace and it was discourteous to those who did care for her. He opened his arms, apple still in hand and gestured for her to come to his chest. Once she did, he closed his arms around her and gave her a tight hug. "I wish you the best. Don't be gone too long, you'll give Ajax a heart attack." He chuckled and pulled back rubbing her arm.
"Oh, since you're gonna see Wes," he paced out the hall and down to his workshop, his long strides clearing the distance efficiently so as not to delay Alex. He nudged the door open and left it ajar for Alex to follow. Duke grabbed the bionic make-up sitting on his table. "A prosthetic arm," he handed it to Alex. "Early stages," he stated eyeing his work fondly. "I'm sure Wes would have fun being terminator for a while but I trust he'll want something more fitting...that replicates skin..." Duke smiled at Alex. "It helps if someone he trusts puts it on for him. So put this on his rotator cuff, strap the buckle across his chest and spine, like a saddle and he should be two armed again," he told her making the gestures across his own body.
"Plus, between you and me," he said leaning in like he was going to tell a secret, "I don't really want McKenna around him." And he grinned projecting his first big brother line. He knew Wesley was a decent guy and wasn't aiming to get in every girl's pants and McKenna wasn't charmed so easily regardless.

DAUGHTER OF ZEUS

Her eyes locked onto his as she stood silently before him, listening to every single word that left those lips of his. She studied his facial expressions. Deep down, she hoped that he would beg her to stay for him. But would it have actually made a difference? being at camp at this point in time made her feel distant from everything she once loved.

For as long as she and her brother had known him, Duke had never once held back on his words, and maybe that was why she liked him so much. He was honest with her, and never afraid to call her out on things she did wrong. The fire he had been born with surely roared inside of that warm soul of his. Powerful, handsome, strong.

He was right, but she still needed to distance herself. "As you know, I still have to go.I see her face in my dreams. I see her even when I'm awake." she admits to him. The first signs of her mind becoming unhinged to the regret of taking another's life. She was strong, but this had broken her. "I need to find peace with myself, then I promise I will come back."

"Thank you for telling me. I appreciate it."

Alex Sighed. "You're welcome." she told him softly. He actually understood.

When he opened his arms for her, apple still in hand, he gestured for her to come to his chest. She found herself swallowing before she walked towards him. He closed his arms around her and gave her a tight hug. Alex closed her eyes as she wrapped her arms around his waist, her cheek against his torso. "I wish you the best. Don't be gone too long, you'll give Ajax a heart attack." He chuckled. Alex smiled at that, picturing how much her brother truly would panic before Duke pulled back rubbing her arm.

Image "Oh, since you're gonna see Wes," She followed him out the hall and down to his workshop. He nudged the door open and left it ajar. Alex slipped inside as Duke grabbed the bionic make-up sitting on his table. She looked at it before looking up at him. "A prosthetic arm," he handed it to her.

Alex took it carefully, scared of breaking it. "Early stages," he says. She watched him as he eyed it fondly.

She steps around the table and towards him, gently planting a soft kiss to his cheek once close enough. She draws back and looks up at him with a smile."Thank you." she says gently.

"I'm sure Wes would have fun being terminator for a while but I trust he'll want something more fitting...that replicates skin..." Duke smiled at her.

Alex chuckled. "He'll love it."

"It helps if someone he trusts puts it on for him. So put this on his rotator cuff, strap the buckle across his chest and spine, like a saddle and he should be two armed again," She made sure to remember everything. As he told her, he made the gestures across his own body. "Plus, between you and me," he said leaning in like he was going to tell a secret, "I don't really want McKenna around him."

Alex smiled a little. "I... I'm going to miss you, Duke."

Ajax looked to the ground and lightly clenched his jaw. "It's not that I don't want to help you, Ajax. It's more the fact that I..." Daniel told him. Hearing the pause in his sentence, Ajax looked up at him, catching the shifty uncomfortable look he shot the girl before she cut in “I might be able to bless a possession of hers, as long as it's always on her being. What is it she needs protection from?” she asked. He was hoping they wouldn't ask, since everyone probably already thought he was over protective of his sister already, and that he needed to give her space to breathe for once, but he couldn't help it. After losing their mother, he couldn't lose her too.

Ajax glanced at Daniel before replying to the girls question. "Anything that is a possible threat to her. She's strong, I know, but... there's stronger out there. I want to make sure that she's just safe. It'll be a peace of mind."

"If you want this done right, it's better to know what we're hiding her from," Keith found himself nodding along.

Ajax sighed. His Father's short patience kicking in. It wasn't like he wasn't grateful, he just didn't want to miss the chance of keeping her safe. He couldn't fail her.

Daniel cleared his throat, causing Ajax to look at him again. He didn't know what to tell them. "We can always try," he finally answered and shrugged.

Ajax reached into his pocked and pulled out a necklace that had a butterfly attached to it. A symbol that had always been from their father, to Alex. He held it out towards Evelyn, and looked up at her as he waited for her to take it from him. "Hey..um, ha- has Alex consented to this or..?"

Ajax licked his lips and looked down. "No, but she'll understand why I did it."

Image Andy scooted to him and wrapped her arms around him again. Normally once was already more than enough as he wasn't the hugging type but today she needed it and the least he could do was be a good shoulder. Even then though it didn't stop her crying, no matter what he said or did. He rubbed her back gently and she nodded against his shoulder.

"I'm scared Mason." He tried to meet her eyes to assure he had heard her right, but couldn't, not without breaking the hug. And in his arms at least he knew she was safe. "I just wanted him at peace... How am I supposed to face him? I couldn't save him. I handed him off to our mother... And h-h-he died. But, it's not him."

Mason sighed out. He was searching for something to say but kept running into dead ends. Andy drew away by that time, wiping her eyes and Mason studied her face. "How am I supposed to look at Daniel but accept that it isn't him?"

He stroked away a single tear carefully while she tried to compose herself again. "Maybe it is him. All we know is that he hasn't visited you yet and he's not talking much. That doesn't mean it's not him. Dying then being resurrected can effect a person." Everyone assumed Daniel wasn't Daniel because he didn't make his usual spectacle. But if anyone had a blade shoved through them then was revived, they probably wouldn't feel too festive either. Then again Daniel had a gift of being resilient. Even Mason preferred his friend in tact, however Mason wasn't an optimist so addressed the other side of the coin. "And if it isn't Daniel..." He didn't know how she could accept it or what they could do. "There's no obligation, Andy. You don't have to do anything," he said instead. She was putting too much responsibility and pressure on her shoulders.

Slowly Mason stood up from her bed. "Can I get you anything?"

"As you know, I still have to go. I see her face in my dreams. I see her even when I'm awake." Duke was sorry to hear that and wished she had told someone sooner if her conscience was that tainted, but settled on nodding to her once. She probably didn't need a lecture. "I need to find peace with myself, then I promise I will come back."

ImageHe received an unexpected little kiss on his cheek from her but that wasn't what disturbed him. It was when she said, "I... I'm going to miss you, Duke."

He fell into his seat trying to scrutinize Alex. Last year she already left camp to put her mind at ease, to prove she didn't murder in cold blood. And now she was leaving again and just decided to admit it plagues her mind still. Duke frowned not able to make sense of why she was making it more difficult on herself. "How long will you be gone?" Although he could imagine Alex wouldn't have an exact answer for him. "I know inner peace is your own to find, but what about dream therapy? Why not ask a child of Hypnos to aid your sleep or dream walk with you? There are plenty of ways people can help you at camp."

Duke felt like everything he said was a losing a battle with Alex. She was so set in her own mind. So maybe a more brutal truth needed to be said. "Jennova was never going to make it," he said looking at his clasped hands. For a moment the sentence hung in the air. It didn't make it acceptable or merciful to kill her, however, maybe it was worth noting. "She wasn't careful enough. She was eager to please Hades blindly and recklessly. She started to lose humanity..." Duke recited, gaze on the wall. After that, he wouldn't be surprised if Alex thought him cold and he checked for her reaction.

Ignoring that, Duke got up and started to escort Alex out of his mancave to finish her rounds of temporary goodbyes. The sooner she left, the sooner she could come back. There was a trend on camp that once a blood of Zeus left something bad would happen on camp.

He sensed annoyance in both of them which left him in a rather uncomfortable zone. Keith didn't know how to play peace maker very well. So long as things didn't escalate, he wouldn't have to. Evelyn took the necklace and turned away from them as she worked her blessing into it. Thank you again.

Now Keith was left standing by Ajax and he shifted uncomfortably. "So...how are you?" Other than stressed and high strung about protecting Alex. Keith wanted to smack himself sometimes.

Image “Hopefully this meets your needs but I can’t guarantee it.” Keith tried the more reassuring smile approach in contrast to Evelyn's honesty. Then as she went to hand the necklace back, she retracted it and an anxious feeling started swirling in his gut and chest. There was either going to be a fight or- “Unless, the son of Hecate would like to double check? Cast your own spell, trial the necklace with hunters,” she suggested, presenting the necklace to Keith.

There had never been a faster evolution from hero to antagonist. How could he get out of this? His powers felt like they didn't belong to him and he didn't practice often enough. Keith took the necklace gingerly, as if it had the power to sear him but it was only a problem on his own end. Upon inspection of the butterfly necklace, a half of him thought the contrast was funny from Alex's true nature, on the other hand there was a surge of familiarity. Keith looked back up at Evelyn and Ajax. He must have looked odd playing with the necklace idly lost in his own thoughts. "I....I can try." That must have seemed like his new favorite phrase of the day too.

If anything were to go wrong, or more likely, nothing were to happen, he was around the best people to deal with it. He didn't want to risk cancelling Evelyn's charm on it so he'd opt for hunters if anything. If Ajax didn't intervene which in this case Keith wouldn't have minded.

The anger she felt inside was better than tears, better than grief, and better than guilt. There was no turning back or erasing past mistakes. She just had to learn by them and move forward. "How long will you be gone?" Duke knew already that she couldn't give him an answer for that. It would just be as long as she needed until she felt herself again. "I know inner peace is your own find, but what about dream therapy? why not ask a child of Hypnos to aid your sleep or dream walk with you? there are plenty of ways people can help you at camp." That was if they wanted to help. Alex shook her head. They were good ideas if her dreams hadn't taken the dark path lately. She didn't want to admit that she was afraid. She knew Duke wouldn't judge her, and neither would her brother or Wes... it was the others she wasn't so sure about. Oh, Mason would have a field day with that knowledge no doubt. She didn't want to give him the satisfaction. "Jennova was never going to make it," Alex took a seat, her behind gently pressing down into the soft material of a chair that sat in his workshop. She closed her eyes and swallowed gently as she hung her head down. "She wasn't careful enough. She was eager to please Hades blindly and recklessly. She started to lose humanity."

Image He was right, and they both knew that was still no excuse to end her life, but it had happened and there was no way to bring her back. She looked up at him and furrowed her brows. "I should have handled the situation differently. I lost control of my anger. I just..." she raised her shoulders and shook her head. "it was like my body was there, but the rest of me wasn't. She knew which button to press that night, and I begged myself to walk away, but I snapped. It happened so quickly." she told him. "I'm lucky that the Gods have not come for me, or maybe they will. I should be standing trial before them and facing my fate."

Image As Duke stood up, Alex too began to stand. "I'm sorry if I've wasted your time, but I had to see you before I left. I wasn't expecting to dump all my thoughts on you, but I'm glad I did. It helped. See you soon, Duke." she smiled a little, then left his workshop, but spun around before he had completely disappeared from sight. "Thank you," she added softly before leaving.

She headed towards her cabin with not wanting to waste any more of Duke's time. After a couple of steps, she paused for a moment after her eyes found Wes and Trinity. Not wanting to get in between them, she carried on walking since she needed to pack anyway. Just a few things really. Nothing special. Mason was no doubt going to be happy with one of Zeus's children gone. For now.

As Ajax waited for Evelyn to work her magic, Ajax's eyes looked to Daniel. It wasn't a surprise he was back with them having Gods as parents, but it was a little strange that Daniel was acting as though nothing had happened to him. "So how are you?" he asked, causing Ajax to frown. No, teasing comment? no witty words to throw in his face? Daniel definitely didn't seem like himself, but who could blame him after returning from the dead?

Ajax studied him briefly. "I could ask you the same thing, but I'm alright I guess. Thanks." Alex wasn't even gone yet, and already he was worrying and contemplating the worse scenarios in his head.

Finally, Evelyn was done. Her return broke him from his thoughts and the fallen silence between him and Daniel.

He went to take the necklace back from her but paused as she offered it towards Daniel. Sensing he didn't want to handle it, Ajax reached out and took it from him. "No, it's fine. Thank you." he nodded to them, tossed the necklace up into the air a couple of inches from the palm of his hand, and caught it before he headed off in search for his little sister. He didn't have time to say anything else, so he hurried towards their cabin in hopes that she would still be there.

As he made his way towards the front door his mind wandered briefly to Andy. He had noticed how absent he had been since they declared themselves, finally, as a couple. That girl deserved so much better than some mood changing male that lost his temper easily. With everything going on, Ajax felt torn. He wanted to the leader that many expected him to be, but he also wanted to be the boyfriend that Andy expected him to be. Blowing hot and cold with her wasn't her fault in the slightest... it was his, and no doubt Mason was there with her now, playing Mr. White Knight. He clenched his jaw at the thought before entering the cabin. "Al?"

He closed the door behind him as he stepped inside and looked around the room...

Quiet and empty as always.

With no reply from Alex, he headed down the hallway and paused outside of her bedroom door. He closed his eyes for a second or two before knocking. "Al, I need to talk to you. Only for a moment, though. I promise." he knocked again. "I'm coming in..." he warned, then pushed the door open and peered in. He only found an untouched bed and the double doors that had been left open. She had slipped out the side of the house once she had heard him the first time.

He sighed before he went after her. She would be at the stables, unable to leave without saying goodbye to Pegasus first.

That horse had been with her since their father had gifted it to her during her first week at camp last year. Immediately, they fell in love with each other. Inseparable souls... Beast, and woman.

Once there, Pegasus's stable was empty...

Ajax quickly jogged towards the stall and held his hand over the door as he looked inside with hope that the animal was just laying down to rest. But it wasn't. "Damn it!" he yelled out and kicked the stable door with the tip of his boot, right before his eyes caught sight of the white stallion inside of the indoor riding arena.

Ajax smiled. He wasn't too late after all.

With her hands holding the leather reins, she walked Pegasus around the edge before she broke him into a gentle trot. With every step the beautiful white beast took with his wings tucked back against his muscular frame, he hung his head down, tucking in his muzzle towards his chest. Such a majestic and beautiful animal.

Pegasus began to walk again, and while Alex looked down at him with a smile, she patted the side of his thick neck with her right hand. He stood still, and Alex leaned over and hugged his neck while she stroked him and whispered, "I'm going to miss you so much." her eyes began to fill with tears while she listened to him breathing heavy as horses do, air snorting out of their large soft nostrils. He blinked softly with his ears turned towards her as he listened to her quiet sobbing.

Her hand continued to stroke his soft white fur as she remained hugged to his neck. His two ears now turned to the front with his eyes on Ajax who now stood at the main gate. Pegasus blew out air from his muzzle which caused his lips to rumble together to let her know that someone was there.

Alex looked up, her eyes just visible over the top of Pegasus's neck. She quickly wiped her eyes before she straightened up in the saddle. Shifted her weight slightly before she began to walk him towards her brother.

"You're in my way." She told him, but he didn't move.

"Just let me talk to you for a moment, okay?" he asked her as he held his hands up a little as if he was about to raise them and surrender. "I know that you want to leave, but it's not going to fix anything. She was unhinged, just like her father. You're a good person, Al, and plenty of them know that even if some others don't. You shouldn't have to leave this place just because of one mistake."

"It isn't just because of what others think of me, Aj! ...it's because I have completely lost who I'm supposed to be. I'm angry, all the time, and I don't think I can control it for much longer. Do you want me to hurt someone else just because I'm unstable? - Would be following in big brother's footsteps after all."

Ajax clenched his jaw. He knew she was only antagonizing him to protect her anger onto him, and so he would let her go. "That's not fair. What I did was an accident and you know it. I told you what happened."

Alex scoffed. "You did, but was it the truth? - I mean, it's not the first time you've covered things up to protect me. I don't even know if I can trust my own brother anymore."

"Al.." He steps towards her. Pegasus takes a step back and opens his wings. Ajax steps back. "Okay, okay." he said to Pegasus to calm him. "Just... you don't mean any of that and I... at least wear this when you go... please." He holds a necklace out in front of him, and steps aside as she moves Pegasus forward and snatches it from him. She heads towards the stables without even a glance back.

Ethan easily took the lead while he and his companions explored the camp. Ethan did most of the talking with Heath talking a bit and Iliana remaining silent, although her eyes looked everywhere.

"I wonder what the other demigods are like?" Ethan wondered.

"We'll find out when we meet them," Heath replied.

"I am surprised we haven't ran into any yet though. Didn't that one guy said they just finished training? I thought we would at least see one of them around the cabins."

There was another reason why Ethan was eager to meet the other demigods. Unlike Heath and Iliana, he didn't grow up with anyone remotely like him and as much as he loved his father, his father didn't have to worry about the things Ethan had to worry about. However he knew better that not everything was going to be hunky-dory. Just like on a construction site when you threw different personalities into a concentrated area, emotions were bound to fly. Add young folk with magical abilities, and things could really get intense. Still he'd be lying if he wasn't excited. He did get a demo from his mother on what happened last year and while he was not looking forward to the fighting part of his training, he did not want to be a hindrance either. He already knew that out of the three of them, his skills were more of supportive type. Heath's powers were more akin to strategy and defense. Ethan knew his friend though wanted to improve in the offensive strategy though. Ironically, the one who had the most offensive skills was Iliana due to her control over wind, rain, and earth, not to mention her potential hazardous skill of induce hunger. In her current mental and emotional state though, Ethan couldn't see Lia being out there in the fray. However he knew she was just as protective of her brother, so it wouldn't surprise him if she did find the courage to help Heath.

It did not bother Heath that they had yet to meet any of their fellow campers. The grounds were massive, so who knew where they were. At the moment he was taking in everything and committing it to memory.

"Don't worry Ethan, I am sure we'll run into a few sooner or later. No need to rush things."

Iliana was definitely in no rush. She was enjoying exploring the area and was tempted to explore every single inch of the camp, but doubted she would. For one thing, she wasn't much of a climber. It was still something she wanted to try though. It could come in handy. She loved nature in general and was considered a 'tree hugger'. She did wonder if Heath would allow her to learn how to climb though. When they first learned that they had to train to be fighters, she remembered how upset Heath was. Oh he never voiced this concerned since it was their mothers who told them this, but his inner feelings were ringing loud and clear. Plus, since he knew he could never hide his true feelings from Iliana, he did admit he was scared of her getting hurt again. Well he wasn't the only one. Iliana certainly didn't want to fight, but she didn't want to feel helpless again either. And even though she'd yet to meet the other demigods, the idea of anything happening to them did not sit well with her.

Speaking of the other demigods, while Iliana could not see any, she could pick up a little emotional turbulence coming from some buildings nearby. The structures were made out of wood and almost reminded Iliana of a barn. And they were heading right for them.

~What is going on here?~ she wondered to herself.

As much as she wanted to stop, she didn't want to be a coward either, at least not in front of Ethan and Heath. Ethan spotted the structures too and was excited.

"Wow, would you look at that wooden structure, it's amazing! I wonder what's inside? I don't see any 'Do not Enter' signs, so I think it should be okay. What do you two think?"

"It looks like we can go in. Is that okay with you Lia?" Heath asked Iliana as he turned to her.

Iliana mere nodded and with that the tree head inside to see multiple stables.

"Hey these are stables right? I've never actually seen something like this. Have you two?"

The others just shake their head and it is at the moment they see someone riding an animal from other doorway. All three immediately guessed the animal was Pegasus, the famous winged horse. When Iliana looked at the rider, she knew she found the source, or at least one of the sources, to that emotional turbulence. Instinctively, she drew closer to Heath, nearly hiding behind him. Heath placed his free hand on top of Iliana's and gave her a reassuring smile.

"I am here," he whispered softly.

Ethan saw Iliana's withdrawal too and started using his serenity on her a bit so she wouldn't bolt. He also decided to step forward and greet the new person. Looking the dark haired young woman over, he figured this was one of the demigods here. Also, he could tell that something was up with this person probably wasn't in the mood to talk so he would keep this introduction brief.

"Hello there, my name is Ethan Knox and my companions and I are new arrivals to this camp. I was wondering if the stables was open to all campers here. If not we'll leave an get out of your hair." he says with a jovial and polite tone.
